An unforgettable birthday celebration! I recently hosted an early evening birthday party for roughly 75 guests at Stampede in Livermore on a Tuesday afternoon. The owner was incredibly gracious and offered us the entire facility for our private use on a day they are normally closed. The party kicked off perfectly with delicious appetizers--the bruschetta and spinach dip with chips were fantastic. Next up was line dancing led by Rhonda, whose instructions were so clear that both seasoned dancers and complete novices had an absolute blast learning new moves. After working up an appetite, we enjoyed a flawless and plentiful buffet dinner featuring juicy Tri-Tip sandwiches, roasted corn salad, chili, and thick fried potatoes. Stampede were also happy to provide veggie burgers upon request. The Stampede staff went above and beyond all night--they helped us set up a slideshow presentation on the monitors, gave great advice on timing our celebratory toast, and seamlessly cut the cake for service. If you use the women's bathroom, good luck. My girlfriend waited over 30-min each time to pee three different times. She and another girl used the men's room, because I told her nobody was in there, and she got kicked out. Her purse and phone were on the table and security didn't care. Unreal. The security missed an almost fight at the bar but yet enforced bathroom rule on a 105 lb girl? And then were jerks on top of it all. This place will fail soon with the way they run it. Re: Owner response That was the weirdest response I've ever had from someone running a hospitality business. Another reason to never go back and tell our large social circle how bad the owner is at her job. I said there was almost a fight. A guy was being pushed and getting the F-word yelled at him, by an actual drunk and disorderly man that was completely ignored by you (and you were literally the bartender serving them) and your security, which were instead policing the women's bathroom line that had 20-30 women waiting constantly all night. Kicking a woman out and withholding the ability to get her phone, her purse, her money, or notify anyone in her party that you threw her out on the street is unsafe and actually illegal. And you defend this? Everyone I have talked to who had negative experiences at this place said that the owner is the problem on every one. Calling a customer drunk and disorderly, which was completely false, and then calling them entitled is right on par with the other negative reviews on this place, which are plenty. read more

I'll try to keep it short and sweet: 1) IMO there should ABSOLUTELY be NO cover at 7pm for a bar in... Livermore. You wanna do after 10, fine. 2) the young blonde door gal at the door is DISGUSTINGLY rude and severely needs some hospitality training. COMPLETELY ruined the experience for us, right at the front door. Allowed people behind us to pass without paying the cover, but when we elected to move on from the extended private conversations she chose to have with her girlfriends at the door, she hunted us down and elected to be sassy (pursuing her lips at us) about how we needed to pay (not wrong) and how dare we skip a $10 cover, after spending over $100 in alcohol at the bar... 3) however, a huge shoutout to the management gal that approached us and heard us out about the incident and for appropriately handling the disrespect at the front door. Your typical Livermore kinda place. Huge dance floor with line dancing and lessons when you first walk in. They put tables there earlier in the evening before 7. After 7 you will be charged an additional $10 cover charge to stay and keep spending money. In my opinion if you're already $100 deep in food alone (not even considering the $15 drinks they charge) you shouldn't have to pay a cover. We had a group of 13 people all eating and drinking and for my 4 people I was wish the bill was $300 and now we have to pay an extra $40 to keep spending money here is pretty ridiculous. Yes we knew prior but the cover should be people who are just coming in. My tri tip sandwich was fine. Nothing special. I love country music and the ambience so I was intrigued to stop in. Had fun here but probably won't be back. Just can't justify spending that much money on mediocrity. read more

Fun ambience. Frustrated that I had to pay a $10 cover at 6pm to eat dinner there. My friend arrived 10 minutes later and walked right in and did not have to pay a cover. Waiters were very friendly and helpful. Tried the tater kegs with buffalo chicken served with a queso sauce and they were very good. Presentation was a zero effort lol. Just the tater tots on a plate with the bowl of cheese - but it is a bar. Sidewinder fries had many fries that were undercooked due to the thick cut of the fries unfortunately but other than that they were decent. Had to ask for ketchup and napkins. Cowboy cookie was disappointing as the cookies were blasé. It was fun to watch people dance and there is an awesome private section you can rent out for parties with a private bar. Our waitress was fantastic took amazing care of us was able to keep all separate tabs and kept the drinks flowing and the smile on her face to entire time. We hosted my sister-in-law's 40th birthday party at Stampede, and it was absolutely perfect! The owners were amazing to work with -- super friendly, easy to plan with, and so accommodating. They made the whole process stress-free from start to finish. We reserved their private lounge, which comfortably fits around 40 people. It has great seating and its own private bartender area, making it the perfect setup for a private celebration. They also set up a delicious brunch buffet for our group that everyone raved about -- everything was fresh and so good! After brunch, we headed out to the main area to line dance and even ride the mechanical bull! It was such a fun, memorable time for everyone! On top of all that, the rental price was affordable, especially considering how much the venue offers. Went to stampede today around 11PM with a few friends expecting to do some line dancing, hence line dancing bar. On their Bio on IG it said after 8PM line dancing. There was a live band which was fine, they did really great. We ordered dessert, the servers were kind. My issue was after the live band. The bar closes at 2AM. There was a few songs that played, none were line dancing songs, then they started playing Spanish music(I'm Mexican), then not even letting the songs finish. Whoever was in control of the music they kept cutting the music off abruptly then changing the songs. Unfortunately we ended up leaving earlier than expected. Also we came all the way from Stockton, so it just felt like a waste of time and a let down. Disappointed. Maybe they're still working out new business kinks? I don't know. It was a Saturday night and I came in at about 6:30pm with a large group (10-12?). The atmosphere seemed okay. Everyone ordered drinks and food. We chatted and watched the music getting set up and some people look like they may be learning a dance. As soon as the "21+" time came around, they literally came to our table and asked for $10 per person for their cover charge. What??? We were already there... ?Maybe this has been an ongoing issue because the website literally says "cover may be waived for groups dining with us", and I guess they decided that night it was a "may not". I have never been to an establishment that finds it appropriate to come around after I've already been a paying customer for nearly 2 hours and ask for all of us to hand them another $10 each. This was never mentioned to anyone in the group upon entering. Generally, a place that turns in to a "club" or whatever they want to classify as at a certain time doesn't charge people who get there earlier. So that was a little bit of a surprise. I decided I was done, though, when one of the waiters came and took my drink before I was finished (I just drink whiskey on the rocks, so it doesn't look like much). When I mentioned it to them, management became hostile and accused us of trying to steal from them (?). Kind of an ironic statement after my group (including a few 80+ year old people) were just told to cough up another $10 each for simply still being in the establishment. Reading other reviews, I can see I'm not alone for either experience. Look, I'm all for supporting new establishments. As a small business as well, you want everyone to do well. Additionally, as someone involved with rodeo and "keeping the spirit of the west alive", I try to support those businesses even more. I can say the way we were treated is not at all in alignment with that kind of hospitality. Hopefully the owners learn from their repeated mistakes and poor treatment of patrons and turn their attitudes around or the downtown is going to have another empty storefront in the next few years. read more

Instead of creating a fun atmosphere, the staff is way more focused on hunting down anyone who might not have paid the cover even if you already did. What really blew my mind is that the boss actually walks around the bar in a sketchy, uncomfortable way just to check if people paid the cover. Nothing kills the vibe like feeling watched and bothered every few minutes, as if you're doing something wrong even when you paid like everyone else. The whole place feels like it cares more about squeezing every dollar out of customers than giving anyone a decent experience. The energy is terrible, the service is rude, and the management is completely out of touch. Save your time and money. There are plenty of bars that don't treat paying customers like they're trying to get away with something.. The bar across the street " Palomoni's" is WAY better !!! I've been wanting to try Stampede since I saw the write up on the Tri Valley Explorer blog. I was not disappointed. The whole inside vibe screams "fun times". We will definitely be back on a Friday night. But we went for take out on a Sunday night. I got the Beach Cowboy Burger and OH MY!!! That burger is on my top burgers of all time list, possibly the #1 spot. It was huge and I am embarrassed to say that I ate the whole thing. I also got the Sweet Potato Waffle fries. They were tasty as well. Even their ice cream was top notch. I interacted with 2 staff members. Both were super friendly and helpful. One was the owner, Robin. She even helped me carry my food out!!! On May 13th, 28 people from my Livermore SilverSneakers class went to Stampede for dinner and the Line Dancing class. Grace was our server she was very customer-focused. She provided us with EXCELLENT customer service. I ordered the hot link & onion rings and they were delicious. Grace made sure that our group was well taken care of. She always came back to make sure that our food was okay and to see if we needed anything else. We ate ,drank, danced, and had lots of fun! Honestly would have been a 4 or 5 star review but they ruined the night. We came after the Livermore Rodeo so it was busy. No big deal; bartenders were kind even though the lines were long. The band was great! Overall would have been an awesome experience. I had waited for about 35 minutes to use the restroom once because they only have 2 ladies stalls. The second time the men's room was empty so I popped over from the ladies line and used it quickly with nobody in it. I was shocked to be greeted on exit by two bouncers who insisted I needed to exit the premise immediately because I used the men's room and wouldn't let me go back and get my purse or phone or tell anyone I was with that I was getting kicked out of the bar. I was stranded on the street with no way to talk to my friends and there were already a few bar fights brewing. My safety wasn't even a consideration. I understand if you have rules - I would have been fine to leave if I could have notified my bf and friend I was with and then gotten my purse and left but instead I was left on the streets at 11:30pm. Bummed I will never be back because the vibe was good and the music rocked. But safety first and this place isn't about it. read more

(The bartendern was in the process of making eight lemon drops). Twenty two (22) beers on tap. (Super excited they have Guinness on tap). Take a ride on the mechanical bull. (Super cool mechanical bull operator). Thank you mechanical bull operator for the birthday picture. Stampede will accommodate event party's, (try to give as much notice ahead of time), birthday parties or pre-plan events, party room, family (kids only during the day) eating before 8 o'clock. $10 cover charge in the 8pm hour for live music and dancing after the restaurant part closes. I didn't get to try the food. But loved hearing the people around me talking about how great the food taste, i'm excited to try. And I can't wait to come back. I need a line dance lesson. This place has potential, but it needs to be upfront about what it really is -- a line dancing bar. There's very little opportunity to dance any other way, as the regular line dancers take over the floor with nearly every song. If that's the intention, Stampede should simply state that only line dancing is allowed. For anyone who enjoys other styles of dancing, it's not a very welcoming environment. The $10 cover charge feels excessive for what you get in terms of drinks and music. This was my second visit -- and it will be my last. read more

From the moment I spoke with the owner Robin, I knew I was going to plan an event at her establishment. And I did! We reserved the Boar's Nest for a birthday party; what an awesome space! I liked this place but the customer service is horrible. I had bought 1 drink that I was sipping on. I left it on the table while I was dancing. I come back and my drink was gone. I was not even finished with my drink. We had all our stuff on the table too. This is the second time this happened. The first time it happened was the last time I was here. This time I decided to say something and the waitress went to the manager and the manager checked the cameras and said that it looked like I took a few sips of it, so they couldn't replace my drink. Mind you, I sip on my tequila, I still had half of it left. The waitress even said you couldn't even see how much was left in cup. Definitely not spending my money here on their drinks or food. Food is not all that great. Bringing my own drink from now on and drinking it outside. I came here to dance and have 1 drink, was not trying to spend 30 mins waiting around for the manager to check the cameras while like 5 songs go by. I was not trying to get a free drink, just kinda felt robbed. Regret even leaving a tip. And from the looks on how the owner replies back to the bad reviews, I can tell they don't know good customer service. Ok this place is pure fun . It's the second of its kind in tri valley . The recently upended country bar in Livermore is whole lot of fun . A full scale bar coupled with line dancing , swing dancing and dj nights is sure the place to be specially if you are single and looking to mingle or just looking to make some good friends . The food is also amaze specially the appetizers : the sliders , pretzel bites , the fried platter and the cowboy caviar in particular . Their burgers and sandwiches also pack quite a punch not to miss out on the desserts . In particular the churro haystack. What makes them uber cool is their rotating special events on a weekly basis including and not limited to singp , bingo, karaoke , live music etc etc . She was incredibly accommodating, organized, and genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly for our group.
