Strizzi's Is the Real Deal, Pleasanton's Hidden Italian Treasure There are Italian restaurants, and then there are places that make you feel like someone's nonna actually cares about what lands on your table. Strizzi's is firmly in the second category, a beautifully modern take on Italian dining that never loses sight of what makes the cuisine so soulful in the first place: fresh, quality ingredients treated with respect. Walking in, the ambiance strikes a lovely balance, it's warm and inviting without feeling frozen in a red-checkered-tablecloth time warp. There's an energy here that feels alive, current, and genuinely Italian in the best way. The kind of place where you settle in, take a breath, and decide you're not rushing dinner tonight. My servers this afternoon were Chris and Destinee, both wonderful women were attentive, gracious, and clearly proud of the menu they were presenting. They weren't reciting a script; they were sharing something. That authenticity is a gift in a dining room, and these two have it in abundance. They made my table feel like the most important one in the house. Then came the pesto penne with vegetables and chicken, honestly, this dish alone is worth the drive. The pesto tasted like it was made that afternoon: vivid, fragrant, with that grassy basil brightness you only get when someone isn't cutting corners. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, the chicken tender and well-seasoned, and the pasta cooked to a perfect al dente. Nothing masked, nothing overworked. Just clean, confident Italian cooking that lets every ingredient speak. For dessert, I finished with the chocolate cake paired with vanilla ice cream, and it was a study in beautiful simplicity. Deep, bittersweet chocolate against cool, creamy vanilla, that's classic for a reason. It was indulgent without being excessive, the kind of dessert that closes a meal on exactly the right note. Strizzi's gets it. The freshness, the warmth, the care, all comes together into something genuinely special. This is modern Italian done with an old soul, and Pleasanton is lucky to have it.

We were looking for a restaurant that's near Meadowlark. We are walking down the street and found Strizzi's restaurant. Because the weather was nice, we decided to sit outside, we ordered the garlic prawns, the scallops Provençal, brussels sprouts, a kids, pepperoni, pizza, and kids buttered noodles with white chocolate, ice cream and vanilla ice cream. The service was really amazing, we were the only people eating outside, even though the weather was nice, but we had kids and it was kind of loud inside, but we didn't want the kids to be even louder because they couldn't hear each other. Our weight staff kept checking on us even after we were done eating and they didn't get mad that our kids were being kids outside and it was just a really nice experience. Next time, I'm totally ordering the scallops Provençal again! They were cooked perfectly and not overcook in the sauce that was so yummy to dunk the bread into.

The Wife and I took Blondie here for brunch, at her suggestion. The brunch menu had both pasta and breakfasty items. Blondie had the penne pomodoro, The Wife had some kind of egg scramble without the meat, and I had a walnut and strawberry salad. Lots of meat on the menu, which wasn't helpful for me. Everything was fine, not terribly special. Lots of families there, seemed like regulars. Service was good and friendly. I just didn't feelike there was much on the menu for me.

It was a late Sunday afternoon. Their brunch hour ended at 2 pm. Inside dining room clear. I had a pick of tables. On this day, I was looking for spaghetti and meatballs with a wild desire for clam chowder. I was happy to see they off a meal special that included soup with an entree and they had clam chowder. It was my lucky day. The clam chowder was served hot with plenty of potato and clam bits. And the star dish was the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was thick, not watery, thank god. The pasta was nicely cooked. The meat balls were satisfying. The service was nice. I had a very enjoyable meal.

Awesome Italian food! Stopped by here for date night and had a very nice time! There is plenty of parking nearby and the location is easy to find right on the corner. The Pleasanton downtown area is very nice and has a happy + relaxed feel to the neighborhood. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. We were both starving so we dove straight into the entres! Can I just say? That the food here is an absolute masterpiece! It is always so amazingly refreshing to enjoy genuine Italian cuisine at an Italian restaurant. Some places don't meet the authentic Italian mark but Strizzi's restaurant does! lol. I ordered the Seafood Fettuccine which features Hokkaido Scallops and white shrimp in their seafood cream sauce. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the pasta was packed with so much satisfyingly delicious flavor. The speciality sauce was so buttery/cheesy it was amazing! I am a huge fan of seafood pasta and this definitely gets high praise from me. My friend ordered the Grilled Chicken which is marinated and grilled with roasted mushrooms, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and pan roasted veggies. AMAZING! I'm not even kidding. I know that "Grilled Chicken" sounds super boring LOL but the Strizzi's restaurant version is absolutely astonishing. The chicken was marinated to absolute perfection. It was delightfully juicy and the mash potatoes and veggies were perfect as well. Highly recommend! BOTH entrees were sheer perfection and I was sooo impressed with the food quality here. Absolutely immaculate. Unfortunately we came here on a day where there was a lot of people and limited staff but Strizzi's gave us a complimentary dessert option that made us feel very appreciated. We ordered the Tiramisu and it was absolute perfection! Honestly every food item I tried here was AMAZING. The dessert was so big that we both shared and I still had a giant piece to take home with me. :) Thank you Strizzi's staff for providing an awesome experience despite being very busy. Your food is amazing and your staff is so kind and friendly. Thank you.

We were in downtown Pleasanton doing some errands and felt like Italian food. I've been to two other Strizzis locations and have always had some good pastas. The Pleasanton location is on a corner of Main Street with a parking lot in the rear. There is indoor and outdoor dining. We wound up going with the half pasta and half soup each. Soups Minestrone 4 stars lots of veggies Clam Chowder 4 stars Pastas Chicken pesto with pine nuts 4 stars Spaghetti with meatballs 4 stars The half portions were just right for lunch. Service was good. Plenty of parking in the large parking lot behind the restaurant.

Their rigatoni bolognese is epic! It's a favorite of mine. I also really like the grilled salmon.

Worse service and the food was like a tv frozen dinner heated up. Do better! We all ate different dishes and it was not worth the price.

We were seated in the very cute outdoor patio, there was plenty of shade so even though it was pretty warm out we were pretty comfortable. We shared the BBQ platter which was perfect for 3 meat eaters and my partner had the vegetarian mushroom pasta. The platter was great, the beef especially was perfectly medium rare and was tender thru every bite. The roasted vegetables included in the platter included Brussel sprouts and cauliflower which were also beautifully caramelized. My partner enjoyed her mushroom pasta, the ridges on the pasta absorbed every bit of the delicious white sauce. Happy to come back, I think the patio space makes it perfect for families of all ages. Looking forward to trying some cocktails next time.

The menu is on the healthier side -- salads, power bowls, sandwiches, very cafe-forward. But the star is the handmade pasta, made fresh every day, and you can absolutely taste the difference. So good. Only gripe is the service is really slow, so don't come if you're in a rush. But if you have the time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, it's a lovely little spot

It is tucked into an unassuming shopping center, but absolutely worth seeking out. Once inside, it feels less like a restaurant and more like you have been invited over to a friend's dining room. It is warm, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. The service hits that perfect balance. It is friendly, attentive, and never overbearing. You feel taken care of without it being a production. The food really delivers. The special, chicken thighs stuffed with smoked ham, was standout and memorable. The margarita pizza is exactly what you want it to be. It is simple, well executed, and perfect for sharing. Do not let the "small" size fool you. It is easily enough for two, maybe even three if you are catching up over drinks. Portions across the board are generous. The fish entrees are especially impressive. The salmon alone felt like it had to be close to half a pound. All of this comes at prices that feel more than fair for the quality and quantity you are getting. This is definitely a spot worth returning to. The hostess off the bat looked at us like we were lost and immediately asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and I honestly felt like she was waiting for us to leave. I even asked if a reservation was needed since there was only one family in the restaurant at the time. I'm not sure why she asked, but she eventually seated us. From the start, I honestly felt judged because we were dressed in workout clothes. But anyways. The restaurant itself is surprisingly small, and considering we were only the second party there, the service was disappointing. I think we waited over 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and during that time they helped customers who arrived after us. When we finally got service, there was no welcoming smile or welcoming attitude. The overall atmosphere felt very cold and uninviting. I ordered the baked ziti, and it was okay to be honest. Honestly, I prefer Olive Garden's baked ziti. We're from San Jose, and unfortunately, this wasn't an experience that would bring us back.

The bread is outstanding, akin to a baguette with its crusty outside and plush interior. I wonder if they bake it fresh in house, what with the bread arriving steaming and hot to the touch. The oil that accompanies it is spectacular too, perfectly acidic with the balsamic vinegar contrasted by the acrid olive oil. All entrees are delicious though not the best in show by any means. For a casual restaurant though, the libations have no business being that delicious. I had an old fashioned, something of a go-to as of late. Leaves nothing to be desired.
