Came here on a busy Friday night where our original dinner place was too busy and wasn't accepting walk ups. Similarly here they were full of reservations and we were the last walk-in (we were a group of 2) to be seated for a while. The staff was super helpful letting me know that they can create anything with the ingredients they have for a vegan entree. I asked for penne with marinara and veggies. I really liked the snap peas they put in with the veggies. Is it the most exciting thing to eat, no, but I was appreciative they added veggies. I recommend that they add a nice vegan pasta to the menu that is a little more flavorful and not as basic. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts to share and those are vegan as is and was so delicious. The service here was super nice but with it being a busy night we waited so long to pay the check and then get a receipt. If you are looking for a vegan option they can make you one. read more

Strizzi's is a nice local restaurant. I'd never been to down town Pleasanton, and was surprise by the small town feel. Think Alamedq, CA. There's also street parking. The restaurant is on the smaller side and I could sense that many locals enjoy this place. We had the Brussels sprouts, which were very tasty. The clam chowder was also very good and was included with my entree before 6 pm. If you want to eat where the locals eat, this might be your place. read more

I ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, the special- Crab and Shrimp Risotto, and the Garlic Shrimp & Artichoke Linguine. The brussel spouts were very flavorful, but way too salty. The risotto was delicious! Wish it was a permanent dish on the menu. Honestly, I filled up too much on the other dishes before trying the risotto, so the flavors were overwhelming. However, I packed it up and ate it as leftovers the next day and it was amazing and very filling! Definitely recommend going easy on the bread while waiting for your food.. haha! I found that the linguine lacked flavor, i think it would be improved with more cheese. read more

The last time I visited Strizzi's was at their flagship restaurant in San Leandro; that was many years ago. So, I was in Pleasanton with my grandchildren when I spotted Strizzi's; knowing that the grandkids love pasta we decided to give it a try. Big mistake, the food was terrible. The clam chowder was just a bowl of creme not one, i mean not one clam in the whole bowl! ( my grandson and I each had a bowl of chowder, and not one little clam in either bowl). I ordered The Chicken Pesto and Pine nuts; it had very little chicken and no pine nuts, ( the manager had to bring some on the side) there wasn't any pesto but a lot of creme sauce. My granddaughter loves Fettuccine Alfredo but what she was served was inedible. I had high hopes, based on nostalgic memories of the original Strizzi's in San Leandro, of having an enjoyable experience, but alas it wan't to be. I have to say that the manager who came by our table tried to help, he did bring us the pine nuts. But what the place needs, in my opinion is a good cook. read more

We had such an amazing catering team with Lillian S. She was such a delight to have at our wedding on January 11th 2025! Easy to reach, never had an issue when communicating! We had her with us for our wedding and she went above and beyond! She set up the day before our wedding with the chafing dishes, baskets for the bread, etc, then brought the food with her ready to go the next day. The food was so delicious! All my guests were so happy and satisfied, so were we! She even made us to go boxes for us at the end of the night. She made the food portion of our wedding an easy part and we didn't have to really do much. She also cleaned the dishes for us, which made our clean up easier the next day! I should have known better but... I ordered salmon last night, in an Italian restaurant. I cook salmon on a regular basis so I know a thing or two. Last night my piece of salmon (for 33.00) was about 3x3 inches and about 1/4 inch thick. I don't think I have ever in my life been served salmon that thin. Anyway, it was grilled and after 30 seconds on a grill at high heat it would have been dry, they cooked I t longer than that and then, put butter on it? Warm bread, warm service, great food. Seemingly the recipe for a great dinner in downtown Pleasanton. I will warn you though, come with an appetite. I made the amateur mistake of coming for a light lunch/early dinner and was astounded by the portion size. I got the cioppino with a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder was definitely just as good as I've had in the City, almost the same as boudin. As for the cioppino, WOW. Huge portion, I'd say it could've fed two of me. I have been to this place twice in a month now and I loved it both times! I wish I could review more food items but I liked what I got the first time so much I got it again the second. I love that they have an option for a smaller portion of the main dish that comes with any soup or salad. I got the Chicken Parmesan and rigatoni with a bleu cheese Wedge Salad to start. Honestly, even though they call it a smaller portion, I could have gone home full and happy after the salad and foccaccia. But the chicken parm and rigatoni were so good, too. A really delicious meal and an incredible value. As good as the food is, the atmosphere and service are truly exceptional. Last night Ray was such a warm, attentive server and we found out toward the end of the meal he's a Strizzi himself and son of the founder. When we inquired about the family photos on the wall, he told us some wonderful family stories going back to his great grandparents. It was obvious how much pride and love have gone into the business and the food over the years. Full as we were, we couldn't resist trying the bread pudding, which was out of this world. We actually live in San Leandro, but the great food and amazing service are going to keep us coming back! read more

This was a positive experience. Having eaten here before,years ago, I wasn't sure what to expect. Dinner started with a nice house salad. The dressing was just right, light and tasty. The time between salad and entree was perfect. I had the penne pasta and my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. We ordered take-out from a great special they had Rigatoni Bolognese, Fettuccine Alfredo or Penne Pomodori for $9 plus add a salad for $3, House Salad, Green Salad or Caesar Salad. It was a great deal so we ordered two of the Rigatoni, one of the Fettuccine pastas and two house salads. The order came with a quarter loaf of really fresh sour dough. The Rigatoni Bolognese had lots of pasta and Bolognese sauce that is creamy, nice garlic flavor with tomatoes and meat. The Fettuccine Alfredo has mushrooms and a nice creamy sauce. I stopped at Popeye's on the way home to get some Chicken Tenders to add to the Fettuccine which made a perfect chicken fettuccine Alfredo dish. Absolutely delicious I've tried to go here every Friday when I can with my dad. Amazing food always gets to you nice and quick and their early bird dining option gives you a free salad with your meal and I'm pretty sure half of desert. I have looked at Strizzi's for several years but never went as I avoid gluten. Finally we went for dinner with friends. I am glad we did. The food was very good once we got it. We all had the specials. They were tasty. I was able to avoid gluten in my selections. Service was slow although the restruant was not crowded and there were lots of people working. The food was excellent as always: I had the Cioppino because it's gluten free. Superbly prepared as always. i usually go there for my birthday dinner after going to the Scottish games at Pleasanton. Parking was easy - right around the corner, and right on the price - free. Service was attentive and prompt, with another birthday party right next to mine, for a teenage girl that was fun to watch and lively, not raucous. That's good because I'm 80 now, so not wild as before. Very generous portions, and freshest and finest ingredients used. No croutons in mine as I'm gluten free. One mussel didn't open, and I gave it back to the waiter. 10 minutes later, back came half a dozen wonderful mussels in their beautiful Cioppino sauce which made up for it! Had their Raspberry Ice in a big balloon glass which tasted just like fresh raspberries, and much better than I've ever had before. Their coffee is first rate as well. The rest of us had Ravioli in Pesto sauce, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Vino, and Gelati. Molto bene, grazie! Ray came over after and asked us how we liked it. His attention to detail and family ties to the founders and dedication to coming in on his day off shows the continuing love and commitment to service and excellence. Very disappointing tonight. Seemed everything was off. Food: Cesar salad's cheese shavings tasted like they've been sitting out for a while and salad was over dressed. Minestrone soup was just okay, pretty bland. The "smoked pork chop" is $27. Look at the picture. Note I did eat one of the slices before taking the picture. Taste was fine, but... it's $27! I put more meat on my sandwiches. Finally, scallops piccata--scallops, 4.5 of them were rubbery, and the piccata "sauce" was just the pan juice that ran into the pasta. Service: Our waiter was nice, but he does need a lesson in timing. I received my salad first, and the mains arrived immediately after. There's ZERO room on a two person table for anything more than 3 plates. My wife got her soup late, and by that time it's not worth having. Overall: Disappointed. This is the place my wife and I had our first date 21 years ago. The food and service then was amazing. Not so much tonight. Our bill was about $80, so I'm a little sore about the food and experience. I asked my wife politely to not make a scene, so hence this review v. verbally complaining. First time visit for an early dinner, nicely social distant tables. One item of note that is nice that early dining from 4-6 pm gets you a complementary salad or soup with a regular priced entree. My free salad was fresh and tasty. Wanted outdoor seating but settled for inside seating due to dropping cooler temperatures. Friendly wait staff, not hurried. Generous pour on the wine but only bottled beer, no draft. Only IPA was Goose Island, not my favorite.. The complementary house bread was pre-sliced French bread, nothing special. My Partner enjoyed her Fuji apple walnut salad, half order which was actually quite big and I ordered the seafood fettuccine with scallops and prawns. Only 4 scallops and the prawns were really small shrimp. Fairly tasty sauce but a little thin/watery for the Alfredo sauce. read more

But when I come from the west side of the bay to the East Bay I really can't expect the best Italian food. Give it a try though. read more

Love Strizzi's!! Haven't ate here since I lived in Pleasanton . So last night we ordered takeout. We got a lasagna & spaghetti and meatballs. We also ordered cheesy garlic bread and minestrone soup . For dessert we had the bread pudding and carrot cake. Food was just how I remembered, delicious!! The portions were a good size you get 3 meatballs and a good amount of spaghetti . I loved the cheesy garlic bread. My cousin loved her lasagna. They give you bread that you don't have to pay for and plenty of utensils. I love how they package their takeout . I got the cajun style pasta and it was so bad I couldn't even take a second bite. It's definitely so different from the cajun pastas I've had in the past but it smelled like BBQ sauce on pasta almost. The waiter was extremely kind though and she kept checking on us to see if we liked our orders so I took that chance to change my order to the creamy tomato ravioli (custom). It was tasty and creamy and exactly hit the spot for me. My friend got the creamy pesto ravioli and it was also tasty. The inside is dark dining vibes and there was a bar. Exhausted after a long travel day, we decided not to eat at our hotel but rather venture out to see what restaurants this cute town had to offer. We made reservations on Open table here and we were so pleased we made a great choice. We both ordered a glass of white wine. I ordered a combination which included a choice of soup or salad and a smaller portion entrée. I ordered their house salad which was excellent and chicken Parmesan. The entrée came with rigatoni noodles and the sauce was spectacular. The chicken was also very moist. Tom ordered seafood fettuccine and the same house salad. The seafood fettuccine had scallops and shrimp and the sauce was very tasty and thinner ( which he and I both prefer. I usually look at the dessert menu before I order side on whether I would prefer dessert over an appetizer. I was full but still wanted to try a dessert. I had A strawberry biscotti dessert which included a scoop of white chocolate gelato a couple of strawberries and whip cream with biscotti crumbs on top. The dessert was OK Only two or three strawberries sliced in half and too much whip cream and only a tiny scoop of gelato. Tom ordered the bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream With rum sauce.He said it was fantastic. We would definitely return to this restaurant and recommend it. Waitress was amazing. We love Strizzi's. We can always count on a good meal. The walnut pear salad is delicious.

We ordered chicken risotto, kids chicken spaghetti and kids pizza. Kids pizza was quite average, rest was good. Service needs considerable improvement. We were trying to catch attention of our waitress all the time! She didn't ask kids for their choice of soda or ice cream ( complementary with their meals). We hadn't noticed, ofcourse our kids remembered that their meal included these items. It took so many reminders that our kids finally let go of the soda and just finished ice creams ( which came at least 15 min after finishing their meals). Won't recommend. read more

Saw this place on Yelp while browsing. I don't think they are use to seeing black people because everyone looked shocked when we walked in. The waitress was very nice and we was seated immediately. The table was clearly wiped with a dirty rag because it smelled like old mop water. I went to the restroom to find some bleach cleaner and used that to clean our table. The water was the best thing here! Wish I could have gotten a refill. Pasta didn't taste like anything but Tabasco in some artificial sauce. It barley even had chicken in the dish mostly just mushrooms and tomatoes. The scampi taste like boiled seafood in slight lemon water sauce. They don't use seasonings on anything. read more
