Smack dab on Main Street, Pleasanton sits a quaint Italian (Napoli) restaurant with outdoor seating to enjoy some of the best weather in the world. We were promptly seated on a Sunday evening and served water. The menu had a decent selection with everything made in house. Both salads were flavorful and I have to say that I don't like beets, but these were well done. The bolognese wasn't as healthy as I expected but these noodles were amazingly well made and cooked. I'm very much looking forward to coming back to enjoy downtown Pleasanton while imbibing in wine, food and laughs.

Went around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and was pretty packed. They told us they couldn't seat us inside anymore until like another hour (there were tables open inside the entire time we were there) The server was excellent and the food came out SO fast. Like it was instant!! We got the calamari, marg pizza, and penne vodka pasta. The calamari was delicious but the mains felt short. The marg pizza was just okay. The sauce was delicious but I don't like soggy pizzas. The pasta I did some modifications- no cheese but subbed tomatoes and basil. The sauce was incredibly bland. I had to add salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and even more salt before I actually tasted a bit of flavor which was disappointing. The dessert was the best part. Limencello cake was incredible and worth the bland food. Chocolate cake was also delicious.

True authentic Italian restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. The restaurant ambiance is wonderful from the blue, yellow, and bright colors really make it feel as if you're in Amalfi. There's outside seating, inside seating and a small bar section seating. The food is fresh, you can tell they make the pizza dough and pasta from scratch. They make one of the best Caesar salads we've all ever tasted, the tiramisu had the perfect balance!, the kids plates were huge, my family also loved the eggplant Parmesan, and the gnocchi mamma Carmella Aka truffle gnocchi was top notch! Will definitely be visiting again.

Always a great time at Locanda. When they know who you are because you're a regular customer, they treat you like family. Even when I'm walking down the street, they will greet me and say hello. Sometimes, a hug. Food is always good. Love the Frito Misto and the Margarita pizza. We tried a new pasta: fettuccini with zucchini. Tastes like cacio e pepe. Rich and cheesy. The triple chocolate cake was delicious! Cocktails are always amazing because Tomaso is the best bartender! All his cocktails are fabulous! Try the Negroni, Gimlet Mare, Amalfi Garden, Tommy 2.0, and my favorite: La Grande Mela. Service and atmosphere is always wonderful! They always check on you - water, take plates away, see how the food is, etc. This is why I love coming back to Locanda Amalfi!

To celebrate my FIL's birthday, we decided on Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton. Our reservation was for 7PM and we were seated immediately. This restaurant fired on all cylinders. From the straight forward menu, the cute atmosphere, great food and amazing service, our entire party was satisfied. For starters, we were treated to Foccacia bread with pesto. The warmth and lightness of this bread was very comforting. Add on the pesto sauce for that extra flavor kick. Our drinks and appetizers came out shortly after. I was really impressed with the speed of service. For such high quality food & beverages, the turn around time was quick! The special old-fashion that had a hint of coffee flavor was refreshing and unique. To put it bluntly, this was one of the best old-fashion's I've ever had! Water was continually being refilled by one of the staff members. My main course consisted of the beets salad with an add-on of grilled shrimp for protein. My waiter made this suggestion and I'm glad he did. It was delicious and fulfilling. The servings here are generous and plenty. Nobody left the restaurant hungry, I can tell you that much. The food shined but so did our waiter; very friendly, accommodating, generous and overall a pleasant individual to work with. He taught us a little bit about Italy and other random food & drink facts. It was a pleasant evening and I look forward to coming back!

The restaurant's ambiance was quite beautiful, so we decided to take a walk there. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. And he checked on us regularly. For the dinner, butter lettuce salad and the gnocchi were both successful. However, I can't say the same for the short ribs. It was the driest and most flavorless short rib I've ever had. In fact, the meat looked and tasted more like beef shoulder than short rib. The polenta underneath, which should have had a creamy texture, was instead firm and dry--and it became even firmer as it sat. Drinks were so good. Thank you for the service

Dinner and drinks at this cute restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. We loved the Antipasta Locanda and ordered extra bread on the side. The pappardelle bolognese was amazing and perfect for sharing. The meat on the brasato was slightly fatty, but overall had good flavoring. Drinks were made well, so we ordered a second round.

Locanda Amalfi is the Pleasanton location of the Locanda chain. We have tried the Lafayette and Danville restaurants before. My Yelp bud Steve T. and his wife treated us to lunch. Located on Main Street, they have indoor and outdoor seating. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside on the patio. We started with a Margarita pizza for all of us to share. The crust was thin and had a hard time holding up to the toppings. We had the following items. Anti pasta plate Prosciutto , marinated artichoke hearts, bread sticks and buffalo mozzarella Spaghetti with clams. The pasta was way overcooked and the clams gritty. Grilled octopus good flavor very small portions Shrimp salad well dressed large shrimp Panino meatballs best dish of the meal meatball sandwich. The restaurant was not busy, service was spotty. Had to ask to refill waters and ice tea. Parking lot in the rear of restaurant.

    Gnocchi Mamma Carmela

Popular local downtown pleasanton Italian restaurant famous for its pizza and pasta. The gnocchi was flavorful, truffle flavor, soft and doughy. Pizza was fresh handmade, generous cheese and fresh basil. The meatballs are huge, flavorful, a bit dry. Overall good ambience, popular with locals.

Wow! What an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the attention to detail. The Mediterranean vibe, complete with decorative tiles and lemons adorning the walls. This all set a warm and inviting tone. Our server greeted us immediately and was exceptionally friendly, offering personal recommendations from the menu. His enthusiasm made us feel right at home. We came specifically to try the award-winning Margherita pizza, ranked #5 Neapolitan pizza in the world. It absolutely lived up to the hype. Its simplicity was its strength: the San Marzano tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, topped with creamy Fior di Latte cheese and fresh basil. The crust was perfectly baked with a crunch. I'd return just for this pizza alone. We also ordered the Locanda Salad, which might be one of the best salads I've ever had. The base of crisp butter leaf lettuce was complemented by artichokes, watermelon radish, Marcona almonds, goat cheese, and a light vinaigrette. It was incredibly refreshing and would pair beautifully with any of their white wines. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can't wait to come back to try more pizzas, and definitely to enjoy that salad again.

Came here on a whim last Wednesday at around 1pm. Inside the restaurant was empty and it seemed like most folks opted to enjoy the good weather outside. Service was fast and friendly. My sister and I werent too hungry so we shared a pizza and a salad. The pizza was a delicious thin crust with proscuitto. I would come back for the pizza even though it was a little pricey. The caesar salad was drenched in dressing! It made the lettuce all soggy and was a little unpleasant to eat. They also only gave us 4 croutons which i thought was a little cheap but maybe i just like croutons! Overall, i would come back again to try more things on their menu. Just make sure to order their salads with dressing on the side!

We ordered their Brusselsprouts and short rib sandwich to share and the proportions were perfect, just enough food and we didn't leave a morsel behind. Their short rib sandwich was heavenly and the chimichurri sauce plus grilled peppers elevated the experience. If you're torn about ordering a full shareable of the habanero fries, here's an insider tip: we asked for a side of their habanero sauce to go with our side of fries so we would still have enough room for their short rib sandwich! Their sprouts were phenomenal. Loved the sweat punch added by the cranberries and shaved carrots to balance the charr of the brussels. Will 1000% be returning to check out their dinner menu. We started with some appetizers of Crispy Cauliflower, Habanero Fries, and Empanada Trio. They were all very yummy and were served with various dipping sauces. The empanadas had a nice crispy pastry and flavorful filling. I had the Salmon eggs benedict and really enjoyed it. The salmon was smokey, but the eggs could have been just a tad runnier. The salad that came with the dish was really fresh and I really enjoyed the slightly sweet dressing. I was really impressed by how quickly our dishes came out considering the size of our group (12). Overall, a nice meal with excellent service.

It is simple, well executed, and perfect for sharing. Do not let the "small" size fool you. It is easily enough for two, maybe even three if you are catching up over drinks. Portions across the board are generous. The fish entrees are especially impressive. The salmon alone felt like it had to be close to half a pound. All of this comes at prices that feel more than fair for the quality and quantity you are getting. This is definitely a spot worth returning to. Tip: Make reservations! This place gets really busy, especially on special occasions. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The Valentine's Day decor was beautiful and really added to the romantic atmosphere. The staff was incredibly efficient and friendly, and our waiter Kevin was absolutely fantastic and gracious throughout the evening. Appetizers: We started with the Golden Beet Salad (with goat cheese, toasted almonds, and honey balsamic dressing) and the Crispy Sweet Chili Prawns. The prawns were amazing - they came with a Fiji apple coleslaw and pomegranate sauce, and the combination was simply heavenly! Entrees: The Lamb Rack came with four beautifully cooked lamb chops, mashed potatoes, spinach, and pomegranate sauce - really delicious. We also tried the Chicken Milano, which was incredible. The combination of artichoke, sun-dried tomato, asparagus, shallots, linguini, basil, garlic, parmesan, parsley, and white wine lemon sauce was perfection on a plate. Desserts: We couldn't resist ordering both the Molten Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream and the Warm Bread Pudding with ice cream. Both were fantastic and the perfect end to our meal. The vibe at Baci's is lively and festive - it can get loud, but that just adds to the fun atmosphere. Strizzi's Is the Real Deal, Pleasanton's Hidden Italian Treasure…read more There are Italian restaurants, and then there are places that make you feel like someone's nonna actually cares about what lands on your table. Strizzi's is firmly in the second category, a beautifully modern take on Italian dining that never loses sight of what makes the cuisine so soulful in the first place: fresh, quality ingredients treated with respect. Walking in, the ambiance strikes a lovely balance, it's warm and inviting without feeling frozen in a red-checkered-tablecloth time warp. There's an energy here that feels alive, current, and genuinely Italian in the best way. The kind of place where you settle in, take a breath, and decide you're not rushing dinner tonight. My servers this afternoon were Chris and Destinee, both wonderful women were attentive, gracious, and clearly proud of the menu they were presenting. They weren't reciting a script; they were sharing something. That authenticity is a gift in a dining room, and these two have it in abundance. They made my table feel like the most important one in the house. Then came the pesto penne with vegetables and chicken, honestly, this dish alone is worth the drive. The pesto tasted like it was made that afternoon: vivid, fragrant, with that grassy basil brightness you only get when someone isn't cutting corners. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, the chicken tender and well-seasoned, and the pasta cooked to a perfect al dente. Nothing masked, nothing overworked. Just clean, confident Italian cooking that lets every ingredient speak. For dessert, I finished with the chocolate cake paired with vanilla ice cream, and it was a study in beautiful simplicity. Deep, bittersweet chocolate against cool, creamy vanilla, that's classic for a reason. It was indulgent without being excessive, the kind of dessert that closes a meal on exactly the right note. Strizzi's gets it. The freshness, the warmth, the care, all comes together into something genuinely special. This is modern Italian done with an old soul, and Pleasanton is lucky to have it.
