Still a customer. The pizza is one of the most delicious in the area. It you like a lot of toppings including cheese this is the spot. The crust is fluffy inside and crunchy on the outside. I've been a few times with my toddlers and the service was good. We got cups of water for them in plastic cups with lids and a straw without asking. The server asked us if it was alright to provide the kids with a scratch-off activity which I thought was nice. I've been a customer for likely a decade & that says a lot for me. Especially after I ordered dinner a few months postpartum, with my two hour feeding/expressing schedule for multiples. Needless to say I was starving. I drove over about ten minutes after the 35 minute wait time to ensure I can be in and out quickly. I was divested to learn my order was not made. I got a discount for next time which I thought was okay but honestly it was terrible. If you ever have multiple newborns or hungry kids at home you'd get it; I was not up for telling my story so I did not. I wouldn't expect anything different anyway. The service was sub par, I arrived and it wasn't very busy but it took forever for my server to come by. I was there for an hour and a half (not by choice) and was only able to order two drinks. (Almost 40 min apart) what's worse, is everyone who showed up after me were all waited on in an appropriate manner, their servers were attentive and came to check on them frequently. The pizza was decent, the crust was a bit doughy and flimsy. The boneless chicken was mostly bread and over cooked. The outdoor patio is my favorite place because I love to bring my dogs. Haven't even eaten my pizza yet, but I have so much time on my hands waiting for my pizza, figured that I could leave a review. I've been here several times, and the pizza has always been pretty good...once it arrives. Today though, the wait is next level. Order was taken an hour ago, and we are still waiting. I hate writing harsh reviews like this, but this was truthfully one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The dough and crust were almost completely flavorless, and overall the pizza itself was incredibly bland. The crust was very thick, and even the pepperoni slices were cut unusually thick, which made the overall texture feel heavy. Like many other reviewers have mentioned, the toppings tasted like they were barely cooked and simply placed on top as an afterthought. They fall right off when you pick up the slice. To be completely honest, it reminded me of a frozen pizza you could buy at the grocery store. The difference is that this one cost nearly $40 after tax for a medium pizza. What made the experience even more disappointing was the wait. It took about 30 to 35 minutes for a single pizza. If the food had been outstanding, the wait would have been understandable because fresh pizza takes time. Unfortunately, the end result tasted more like cardboard with toppings on it. Our server was very nice and friendly, but after taking our order, we hardly saw them again for the rest of the meal. I genuinely don't understand the hype. The pizza is expensive and, in my opinion, does not come close to justifying the price. It feels like a place that benefits more from its long history and reputation than from the quality of the food itself. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The interior is very old school with a tribute to Pleasanton back in the day. They offer indoor seating in two rooms plus a lovely outdoor patio section. I took a bite and went, "wow". Let's just say I was impressed by this place. I brought some friends from out of town here on a Monday night. There were plenty of seats and the wait for the pizza wasn't noticeably long. Being the typical nice summer/autumn Pleasanton weather it was, we sat outside and got to admire the outside art. We ordered one of the pesto pizzas and a red sauce (I'm sorry I can't remember the name). Either way, the cheese was perfect. You know when you pull the slice away from the main circle and it's holding on like a clingy ex? It's like that but simply stretches and doesn't take the rest of the toppings along with a piece of your innocence with it. We've been coming to this restaurant many times over the years although it has probably been about 5 years since our last visit. We had a fantastic server today who really took good care of us. Her name was Julie. She was great. Our pizza was a medium 1/2 Veggie and 1/2 Hawaiian. The crust was cooked to perfection but we thought overall the pizza was lacking real flavor. Maybe our taste has changed over the years since we have are big fans of Tony's in SF (or his newer Slice House Establishments) or Gold Dust Pizza in Ripon. I still think this place is a nice restaurant if you are looking for a well made pizza and you're in the Downtown Pleasanton area. We will go back if we are in the area and want pizza. read more

Dined here tonight for dinner and it was the absolute WORST pizza ever!! When I picked up a slice all the toppings slid right off and the crust was soggy with a lot of liquid below. I showed our waiter and he proceeded to tell me the puddle was "probably just grease that dripped" what??? I've never eaten a pizza that's been soggy swimming in a puddle. It was not grease and even if it were I'd never been served a pizza like that before. The waiter took it back and had it placed in the oven again. Still when it came back the toppings all slid off. Started with the cheese curds, crispy on the outside, melted gooey cheese on the inside, comes with ranch and marinara sauce. Button mushrooms cooked in butter, wine and garlic. Love the pizza and lasagna. My rigatoni was ok barely any noodles a lot of sauce. Garlic bread was very hard to eat. The server we got first was excellent. He waited on us fast. Horrible service, long wait and sloppy looking flavorless pizza. Went on Friday evening and our group ordered 2 pizzas. Just 2 pizzas and 30minutes went by and our waitress was nowhere to be found and we had empty glasses and no food. Noticed people who arrived after us already had appetizers and food. Went inside to try to find someone to help us get refills or find out the ETA on our food and stood around and could not find anyone. After standing around for 5 minutes or so, we finally saw a guy come by us BUT he ignored us so we had to call out and get his attention. We told him we had not seen our server & have been out of drinks and our food still had not arrived. He was very dismissive, non-apologetic and told us to go back to our table and sit down he would find our server. We should have just asked for a refund at this point. When he finally found the server all he said to us was he "brought her back to Earth". No apologies about the wait or lack of service from either employee. When this gives finally brings out the pizzas, they were not even appealing to the eye and a few bites in; they were just flat out gross. We left so much pizza behind and that never happens. I mean you could go get a frozen pizza at a 7-Eleven freezer that tasted better. We noticed others around us didn't finish their food either... a sign the food is not good in general. I cannot believe this so called pizza shop is still in business. This has got to be one of the worst, I take that back the worst pizzas I ever tasted and I say tasted because I never ate it I spit it out and rinsed my mouth out. I spent $70 plus dollars on 2 medium pizzas and when they arrived and I saw them I was not impressed. I went to pick up a piece of the meat lovers pie and everything on the crust slid right off into the box. So I wanted to still see what it tasted like so I spooned it up and tasted it only to spit it out into a napkin and went and rinsed my mouth out. So disgusting and greasy it should have been served in a bowl as soup not anything like pizza should be. We called to talk to the manager 5 times and it just so happens he was never there and never called us back to discuss the issue. So I guess ripping people off is standard for this place if you read all the reviews and if you are smart you will if you are thinking about eating there. We finally just wrote it off figuring they must really need the money to treat people so bad and serve such dog food. This is a small town pizza shop and I do not even want to address it as one but for the review I will. If you are thinking of doing business there first read the reviews and remember you will not be compensated for horrible food. I will let everyone thinking about eating at this place know not to waste your time or money and if you do you deserve what you get. To the owner , sell the place to someone who knows how to make pizza and treat's customers with respect!!! That was some of the worst service I have ever had. I have worked in restaurant customer service for 15+ years and I would NEVER make the comments he made. He brought us our drinks after waiting at least 30 mins to be acknowledged after being seated. As he was putting the drinks in the table he asked us to move the drink down, no one moved for a moment because we were busy with kids and doing other things, he (our waiter) said "or not" and then proceeded to put the drinks down. YOU DONT SAY THAT TO CUSTOMERS. I don't care how annoyed you are, you don't say that especially after we had to wait just for drinks. We were seated at 6:45pm and didn't receive our dinner until after 8pm when most of the other guests who had came after had already finished and left. Oh and we had empty cups needing refills for at least 30 mins and had to ask multiple times before finally getting one. Not only was the service HORRIBLE, the food was nothing exciting. I will say, the other waiter seemed extremely attentive and seemed to do a wonderful job on his tables. We just unfortunately got a HORRIBLE one. Ranch on pizza, yes, sometimes and when I do I want it deep. 2. hearty pies, tons of cheese and toppings, somewhat hiding a delicious if somewhat genre neutral crust (too doughy for 'pan' or 'granny', not crisp enough for tavern not 'pan or crispy' really anywhere except very edges of crust...probably reheats well. Best pizza ever! My family and I have been coming here since they opened many years ago. This is a p-town classic. Our server Kevin , & all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Their sourdough crust is next level delicious. Nothing like a fun night chillin on the outdoor patio. (Indoors is awesome as well. Dark and old school classic vibe. Can't beat it. They also have a full bar now! You can't go wrong with any specialty pizza on the menu, and don't forget a side salad!! Their blue cheese is my favorite in the world. The cheesy garlic bread sticks were just stale bread topped with a layer of mozzarella cheese sprinkled with garlic powder. I'm thinking if this is even a crime for letting this slide?! Even after second chances, my expectations were still not met despite trying Wayne's World and Frank's Special. Their pizza was a bit undercooked and too crust heavy for me.
