A slice of tasty mystery pizza
    Veronica P.

I took a bite and went, "wow". Let's just say I was impressed by this place. I brought some friends from out of town here on a Monday night. There were plenty of seats and the wait for the pizza wasn't noticeably long. Being the typical nice summer/autumn Pleasanton weather it was, we sat outside and got to admire the outside art. We ordered one of the pesto pizzas and a red sauce (I'm sorry I can't remember the name). Either way, the cheese was perfect. You know when you pull the slice away from the main circle and it's holding on like a clingy ex? It's like that but simply stretches and doesn't take the rest of the toppings along with a piece of your innocence with it. Anyway, amazing flavor, amazing cheese, amazing name; I will be returning.

The staff was nice but the food was just bland. We got the lasagna and a pizza. I wanted to like it so bad but it just wasn't there.

We've been coming to this restaurant many times over the years although it has probably been about 5 years since our last visit. We had a fantastic server today who really took good care of us. Her name was Julie. She was great. Our pizza was a medium 1/2 Veggie and 1/2 Hawaiian. The crust was cooked to perfection but we thought overall the pizza was lacking real flavor. Maybe our taste has changed over the years since we have are big fans of Tony's in SF (or his newer Slice House Establishments) or Gold Dust Pizza in Ripon. I still think this place is a nice restaurant if you are looking for a well made pizza and you're in the Downtown Pleasanton area. We will go back if we are in the area and want pizza.

Date with the Mr. after a drs appointment. We wanted patxi but they're now closed. This was what I really wanted. Started with the cheese curds, crispy on the outside, melted gooey cheese on the inside, comes with ranch and marinara sauce. Button mushrooms cooked in butter, wine and garlic. The wine was a bit heavy but still very enjoyable. The PIZZA!!! My fave part of the meal. I'm a combo kind of girl, so I gotta have everything on my pizza. Every piece of meat and veggie stood alone in flavor. It didn't feel like mush. I was able to taste the sausage seasonings while getting the crunch of the bell peppers. Our waitress was super nice and kept our drinks filled consistently. Can't wait to go back!

I've always heard of Gay Nineties growing up and finally ordered takeout with some friends. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The pizza was ultra bland, toppings just slid off, and the bottom was soft and soggy. The crust was decent, but not good enough to save the rest. Not a fan.

Best pizza ever! My family and I have been coming here since they opened many years ago. This is a p-town classic. Our server Kevin , & all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Their sourdough crust is next level delicious. Nothing like a fun night chillin on the outdoor patio. (Indoors is awesome as well. Dark and old school classic vibe. Can't beat it. They also have a full bar now! You can't go wrong with any specialty pizza on the menu, and don't forget a side salad!! Their blue cheese is my favorite in the world. One of the managers makes a mean hot sauce that you can purchase. It's sooooo good.

One of our favorite go too spots for pizza when in town. We enjoy sitting outside on the patio in the summer and inside the cozy atmosphere during winter. Our service is always great! We will be back soon for another date night.

The food is so good, the pizza is absolutely scrumptious. The crust is so thick and toppings are loaded on. It is extremely filling, so you can easily share a medium. The service is fast and the waiters are happy to answer any questions. It is super cute inside, and wasn't too busy.

Do they offer a personal pizza and salad lunch special?

Yes. Buy a baby pizza and get the choice of soup or salad for lunch Monday through Friday.

Has someone had their Jambalaya, how is it? And can someone upload a photo of it to Yelp? Thanks!!!

Do they sell by the slice? Thank you

Specifically, what are the vegan options here?

As far as I know there is no Vegan. Lots of meat

What's with the name of this place?

It recalls the time of the 1890s and the sentiment of that era.

Do they have gluten free pizza and a thin crust?

    Yes!

Is this really deep dish pizza or just thick crust?

They do have a thick crust, it's not "Chicago Style" by any stretch of the imagination, but is tasty.

We started our meal with appetizers--Mama Carmela's Meatballs were three oversized meatballs in tomato sauce, topped with Parmesan and crostini (garlic toast); the Fritto Misto was a plate of lightly breaded Monterey calamari, tiger prawns, zucchini, and artichokes, served with a side of creamy capri sauce for dipping; and the Octopus All'insalata was a salad of lightly dressed arugula, olives, cherry tomatoes, and fennel, topped with tender pieces of octopus tentacle. The appetizers were decent, but the real highlight of this restaurant was their freshly-baked pizzas. The Amalfi was a light, summery combination of yellow San Marzano tomato sauce, fiori di latte, burrata, pesto, and red Sicilian Datterino tomatoes; and the Norcina was an aromatic, umami combination of truffle crema, fiori di latte, Italian sausage, and mushrooms. Both were absolutely delicious, and the best part was the authentic Neapolitan pizza crust--thin, light, and chewy all at the same time! Overall, this was a fantastic dining destination with quick, friendly service and a beautiful atmosphere too.

When making the reservation, I specifically noted that this was a birthday celebration and selected covered outdoor patio seating through the reservation system. When we arrived on time, we were told there were no tables available in the area your reservation platform had offered us. To make matters worse, after a staff member asked us which available table we preferred, we pointed one out, only for another waiter to immediately give that exact table away to a smaller party while we stood there as a party of six. That set the tone for the evening. Service throughout the night lacked professionalism and hospitality. One male waiter, approximately in his 40s with slicked-back hair, was consistently rude, dismissive, sharp in tone, and visibly uninterested in helping our table. His behavior affected our entire party and made us feel unwelcome. Management should seriously address his service etiquette and overall conduct toward guests. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of acknowledgment of my wife's birthday. Throughout dinner, we watched several other tables celebrating birthdays receive desserts and recognition from staff, while our table received absolutely nothing despite the restaurant being informed ahead of time. At the end of dinner, we were simply handed the bill with no acknowledgment whatsoever. My wife even turned to me and asked, 'What about my birthday?' and honestly I had no answer for her. The evening felt careless, disorganized, and poorly managed. We did not receive the seating we reserved, experienced rude service, and the special occasion we communicated in advance was completely ignored. Overall, it was a poor dining experience and not somewhere I would currently recommend."

The Valentine's Day decor was beautiful and really added to the romantic atmosphere. The staff was incredibly efficient and friendly, and our waiter Kevin was absolutely fantastic and gracious throughout the evening. Appetizers: We started with the Golden Beet Salad (with goat cheese, toasted almonds, and honey balsamic dressing) and the Crispy Sweet Chili Prawns. The prawns were amazing - they came with a Fiji apple coleslaw and pomegranate sauce, and the combination was simply heavenly! Entrees: The Lamb Rack came with four beautifully cooked lamb chops, mashed potatoes, spinach, and pomegranate sauce - really delicious. We also tried the Chicken Milano, which was incredible. The combination of artichoke, sun-dried tomato, asparagus, shallots, linguini, basil, garlic, parmesan, parsley, and white wine lemon sauce was perfection on a plate. Desserts: We couldn't resist ordering both the Molten Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream and the Warm Bread Pudding with ice cream. Both were fantastic and the perfect end to our meal. The vibe at Baci's is lively and festive - it can get loud, but that just adds to the fun atmosphere.
