So far the food has been spectacular. I guess you can ask yourself how good can you make a burger? There are so many different ways. I can appreciate in-n-out but I can also say it doesn't have a lot of character. When you eat them it's pretty monotone, and let's not start talking about other burger choices, they are equally bland. I stumbled across super grill on rosewood and Santa Rita accidentally, and now back for a second try. What I can say is that they have a spectacular burger. I ordered a cheeseburger, no changes, and a kirin beer on tap. How many small places can you go for such a combo? Go here! This quaint little place is almost like a throw back from days past, where you could get actual food cooked by an individual who is basically the Arnold of Pleasanton. You don't need a lot to make an exceptional burger, just fresh ingredients, quaint atmosphere, excellent cooking skills, atmosphere, and most importantly how to assemble a burger that literally needs nothing added. Walked in late afternoon today and it was pretty empty, I was craving chicken so I ordered their chicken teriyaki plate to go. The inside of the place is like a vintage diner. Service was pretty quick received my food after waiting about 5 minutes and was then on my way. Took me about 30 minutes to get home before I could eat my food it surprisingly stayed pretty warm. Fair warning if you do don't like spicy order it without spice because they use Serrano peppers and even though I ordered it mild/light spice it still packed some pretty good heat lol, nothing I couldn't handle though. The chicken had a nice char broiled taste which I really enjoyed and wasn't too dry either and it had the perfect amount of teriyaki sauce as well. I've been a loyal customer of this local restaurant for years, choosing to support them regularly over larger chains. Today, I ordered cheeseburgers and fries for my kids, as usual. When one of my children didn't finish their meal, I grabbed an empty takeout box from the self-serve area, assuming it was available for customers. The owner confronted me and said the box cost 25 cents, speaking in a very rude and unprofessional manner. I offered him a dollar, but the interaction had already left a bad impression. Honestly, who charges customers for an empty takeout box for leftovers? I have never in my life seen a business owner make an issue out of something so minor. This short-sighted decision to charge me for a takeout box that should be complimentary will end up costing far more--I've spent an average of $63 every week or other week at this restaurant over the years. The owner needs to learn how to treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning. read more

An interesting blend of Greasy Spoon and Asian dishes. A few work friends and I were hungry and in the area and suggested Super Grill and Breakfast. I was kind of intrigued by their description so why not! I'm glad that we went because it's a hometown style grill that serves breakfast all day (Awesome!) but they also have a lot of Asian style dishes AND Asian style breakfast! You can take your pick of all types of omelettes, breakfast burrito's pancakes, tons of burgers and sandwiches as well as teriyaki plates and beers on tap. I ordered the spam and rice with eggs over easy (Reminds me of being a kid) and it hit the spot! This is such an underdog place that really cooks up the meanest breakfast burritos, my fave being the linguiça sausage and my hubs loves the bacon. The teriyaki chicken is really good too but def watch out for those peppers when you say spicy they really are! The fried mushrooms are also great! We love the get out team breakfast burritos often there. Small business owner I've only ever seen the same man taking our orders over the years. I've been coming here for at least 15 years, back when there was the little older Asian lady behind the counter. She's no longer there. I've recommended several people about this place. Today my friend and I came in for lunch and as usual we just had water with our meal. As I finished filling my cup with the plain soda water, the owner taps me on my shoulder and told me I had to pay for the water or else get the non carbonated water. Every other place I've gone, plain water or carbonated water is no charge. He just lost a few regular customers over a cup of water. Plus, his unfriendly attitude every time is reason enough to spend my money elsewhere. * the portions are getting smaller while price goes up so I'm going to other places that don't charge for water and at least have a better attitude. read more

This is a go-to spot in the Tri Valley. I mostly get the breakfast burritos (you can get chicken along with the usual bacon, sausage, etc). The service is fast, efficient, and no frills. I loved the breakfast burritos from here years ago. I'll have to try them again now that I'm back in the area. This time I had the cheeseburger with some curly fries. Both were pretty good. The burger was made well just as I like it, nice and simple. Lettuce, onion, and tomato. Surely you can get it how you like it but I was happy with mine. Curly fries freshly made and crunchy. Not too flavorful but still good. Only a few people were ahead of me but I still got my food quickly. They have lots of items on the menu so I'm looking forward on to try more things. All my years of going to this plaza for Ranch 99 and I never once noticed Super Grill (I am sorry). It's on the outer edge facing the Trader Joe's plaza, and it surprisingly has a lot of space inside. There was a revolving door of people coming in to pick up takeout, which now makes sense as the food is worth it for its portion here! Fish & Chips ($14.95): 2 huge pieces with fries, batter was light and crunchy. Breakfast burrito ($10.95): My choice of meat was linguica, a heavier spiced smoked sausage, which was delicious. You can ladle salsa on the side for dipping too! Sometimes I wonder if I bring my own avocado, will they put it in there for me for free lol Teriyaki beef plate ($13.99): My friend usually eats slower than I do, and this disappeared quite quickly. 2 thumbs up. Kirin beer medium ($4.50): I think this was the biggest surprise to me - the beer is so cheap!!! And $18 for a pitcher what?? Very extensive menu, so much to try for a pretty affordable price. Absolutely delicious breakfast burritos! My hubby and I were craving a really solid breakfast burrito and have had trouble finding a good place in NorCal. In SoCal there's a drive thru on every corner.... Angelo's, Diego's, Alberto's. But in Pleasanton it's been a little challenging. Thank goodness my husband found Super Grill right next to his new drycleaner! They are very friendly and have a huge menu. Including breakfast burritos stuffed with meat, eggs, hashbrowns. We both added avocado to ours and I also added tomato. Normally I don't like potatoes in a breakfast burrito but these hashbrowns were really crispy. When I went on a Friday late morning, there were dozens of local construction workers/city workers ordering lunch. So I'm pretty confidant this is a local favorite. This is a really good mom and pop burger location, that does way more than burgers. Sort of a hidden gem in Pleasanton. I usually get the patty melt which is really good. My only slight complaint is that the patty melt doesn't come with rye bread, but the sourdough that uses a good substitution. The french fries are always nice and hot. I finally branched out from the patty melt and got that super grill burger, you could taste the grilling on the burger and other fresh ingredients they use, it was excellent! If you are more on the hungry side I would probably choose the double burger. But for me the single patty was just fine. They also have other items on the menu. The fish and chips look pretty amazing and I heard from my coworkers that the breakfast burrito is really good. I've been coming here for about 3 years here and there. I think next time I'll try something new on the menu. By the way they also have beer and the beers really affordable I had a Kirin for $2.50. if I lived more local I'd probably come here a little more often chill with a friend and have a couple beers and some good grub. Came by to try their chicken teriyaki plate and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken has a good flavor BUT beware it has a little spicy kick to it. Also tasted their 2 meat teriyaki combo with chicken and beef, the beef was cooked and seasoned well. The combo plate comes with 2 potstickers and they are pretty tasty. NOTE: The teriyaki plates don't come with green salad as advertised on their menu and that sucks because I love salad. However, my favorite thing was the crispy fried mushrooms! You get exactly what you would expect in terms of food at this short order grill. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. It should be noted, I did not try some of the signature dishes as described in other reviews. The fish and chips are good and it is confirmed there are two large pieces of fish served with them with very industry standard fries. The Turkey Club was similar to what one would make at home. It was more like a high school cafeteria lunch sandwich. That is not a bad thing, it is just not a gourmet sandwich by any means. None of the above is out of line for such a grill and is expected so no surprises here. Some things that led to star removal are: * Water station barely worked. The water drips out. * Tip request at point of payment. Why tip when food is served on paper plates and when you receive the food, you are instructed to throw it away when you are done. Ordering is done at the counter, you get your own drinks, real plates and glasses are not used, and you are asked to clear your own table when done. Other than linguisa, it has egg, cheese, and hash brown inside. Chicken teriyaki plate is huge! They give you a lot of rice and a decent amount of meat, though I wish there was more veggies. Flavor wise, it's not bad but also not the best I've had. The chicken was a bit dry and could use more sauce. I ordered online for pickup (they have their own website) and was in and out in less than 5 mins, very convenient! Overall, it's not a "must try" place or anything super amazing. A very nice find,. Great traditional breakfast and lunch items in a casual, comfortable quick-serve setting. The menu has plenty of great breakfast items, sandwiches and sides. It was really hard to decide what to get...everything looked good. I knew we chose a good place when a couple of sheriff deputies came in ahead of us and asked for their "usual." What better vote of confidence is there than that? The breakfast burrito was well constructed with freshly cooked ingredients and wrapped in a nice fresh flour tortilla. Likewise, the pancakes were perfectly browned outside, fluffy and just a bit moist inside. Excellent! Eggs were fresh and the bacon slices were big and cooked well.
