My wife and I recently got dinner at Tacos Livermore on a Wednesday evening while we were stopping by Downtown. When we stepped inside, the entire restaurant was pretty empty. I ordered a "49'rs Burrito -- Meat, rice, beans, salsa, lettuce, sour cream, guac, cheese covered in enchilada sauce", and opted for lengua (beef tongue) as my protein. While we waited for our food, we helped ourselves to chips at the salsa station, which had a wide assortment of garnishes and salsas. I really enjoyed the pico de gallo they had here. Overall, I thought the burrito was just alright. My two criticisms were that the beef tongue and the enchilada sauce lathered on top both tasted a bit bland and lacked seasoning. Although the salsa from the salsa bar made the burrito significantly better, I wish the individual components of the burrito were better prepared. To the side of the plated burrito was a large mountain of lettuce garnished with a generous spoon of "guac". I put guac in quotes because I'm skeptical the guac was made purely from avocados. The watery and creamy texture of the sauce, along with the unnatural green color, is not typical of authentic guacamole. Overall, I would give my experience a 3.5 that rounds up to a 4. The large portion sizes here definitely deliver on value. read more

I think I found my new favorite place for tacos, and let me tell you, I'm not even a fan of tacos! But their tacos were delicious. I ordered 3 tacos- pastor, grilled chicken, and grilled beef. The pastor was my favorite, but the chicken and beef were just as good. The meat were very well seasoned, and a good amount of meat was given. These tacos weren't small either, and I like how thin the tortilla were. I also like that you can grab your own chips and salsa, and all their sauces was good! I was able to feed a family of four for around $50, which is pretty good these days. I have had a burrito bowl and a regular burrito. I will say their regular burrito size is smaller than what you would typically expect. Order the super burrito if you are craving the typical sizes you would see at other restaurants. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, there are about a dozen tables that can accommodate both small and larger groups. Outside, you'll find a handful of tables with nice views of the downtown First Street area, which makes for a great atmosphere. One nice touch is their self-service salsa bar with chips. Even though the chips are out, they're kept under a heat lamp and consistently taste fresh. For those dining in, there are also restrooms available in the back. The staff is always pleasant and easy to deal with, and the kitchen does a great job getting food out quickly. Overall, a solid spot with great food, fair prices, and a welcoming vibe. Making my way downtown (Livermore)... Their lunch deal made us whip our heads around so fast. $10 for 3 tacos and a drink?? This is a solid addition to the area! It's super spacious and wasn't too busy on a weekday afternoon, so we ordered right away and sat down. Food came out in less than 5 minutes. There's a bar with different salsas + limes + radishes, and we were able to fill our own cup with whatever aguas frescas was available. Tacos were pretty good and satisfying for how hungry we were. While I've had better tacos elsewhere, I would still come back because that lunch deal is sooolid and service was prompt. read more

We didn't go often because the flavors were a bit lacking; however, I was surprised after stopping in after I hadn't been in a while. Just an update, since we've now gone back for something other than tacos. The Wife had chicken fajitas, while I ordered the camarones a la diabla. Her dish was ok, the chicken wasn't like a chicken breast sliced, more like ground up meat. My dish was quite hot with the adobo sauce, but I could still taste the paprika, and the heat didn't linger long. The cerveza helped with that. We might just stick with tacos here. My husband & I decided to try this place out. We're always looking for new restaurants in town. This one has a great location right on First Street in the mix with all the downtown spots. You order at the counter. They have a pretty good variety of different dishes. I ordered a beef taco and a shrimp taco, and then their Taco Livermore pastor taco as well. My husband ordered the chile relleno burrito. We also had a side of rice & beans. I really enjoyed all three of the tacos. My husband said his burrito was good, but probably wouldn't order it again. He said the chile was only in one part of the burrito which was disappointing for all the other bites. The beans were really good and rice was as well. My bf and i were craving some Mexican Cuisine and decided to try something new. We've passed by this place a few times now and decided to try it. The staff are very kind and give you a warm welcome, and the service is very timely. I also enjoyed the ambiance of Mexican music at a reasonable volume. Unfortunately the food was less than sub par.... They charged me twice for an enchilada so we paid $50. I ordered an enchilada plate and the enchilada sauce was sour and old, the chicken was hard and dry, but the rice and beans were great of course. Our horchata was basically just colored water. However; My bf enjoyed his asada quesadilla. The salsa bars salsa was a week old and sour. The churros were dry and crunchy with no flavor. We will not be coming to this establishment again. The carne en su jugo was super flavorful and sooo good!! It comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas that you can make your own taco with on the side. The tacos livermore was so delicious and was the cashier's recommendation. It had al pastor meat and hints of pineapple. The fish tacos were also really delicious. The quesabirria was okay, I didn't order it with consume so it was just alright to me. The churros were also good!! The strawberries that it came with were really sweet, you can tell it's from the farmers market and not store bought. Great taco place and a good place for a taco tuesday deal. PARKING - found parking in a side parking lot which was less than a 5 minute walk. The parking lot was behind the restaurant. ATMOSPHERE - there is a TV playing halloween movies and a few big and small tables with a clean bathroom. You order at the front and then sit down and they bring you your food. For some reason there were only 2 groups ahead of us but the first group had a lot of orders and it took almost 15 minutes until we could order and then after that it took at least another 10-15 minutes before we got our food so the kids were getting antsy. FOOD - the taco tuesday deal is 3 tacos and a drink for $10. I also got a burrito to share with my daughter. Overall, my husband said the pastor taco was the best he's had in this tri valley area! My burrito wasn't the best I've had but it was good. The aqua fresca was also not overly sweet but fresh and a good mix with the savory tacos/burritos. The chips were also crunchy/crispy and fresh. Wanted to like this place but unfortunately we were sooooo disappointed... Stopped by for some tacos Sat afternoon - one fish, one shrimp, one chili verde (crispy), and one carne asada (crispy) along with a cup of elote. The shrimp and fish tacos were street style on two soft tortillas but covered in condiments (salsa, sour cream, guacamole) and the protein was cut into tiny pieces. The chili verde and carne asada were crispy style and I asked for all the condiments on the side as I don't like a lot -- not only were these also cut into tiny pieces, I couldn't taste anything except for the refried beans and that was for both of them. I couldn't taste any meat, not even the verde sauce! Took two bites of each taco and I was done - Aye no bueno! The elote wasn't any better - a small cup of corn in a semi tangy soup - no char, no flavor, no good. Prices were on the higher side as well - total was almost $30 excluding tip. You order at the counter and they bring the food out when it's ready, however, maybe use order numbers on receipts or invest in some number place cards to put on the table as they stop by each table to check if what they are bringing out is your order - not very professional in my opinion and a little distracting. We came here for brunch after a friend told us that they have one of the best Carne En Su Jugo around. After hearing that we had to come and try. I have had a few, and by far this is the best. The beef broth was was rich and flavorful, the steak was very tender and the bacon, onion, cilantro and avocados made this dish great. Coctel Mixto, Shrimp & Octopus Cocktail mix with onions, cilantro, tomatoes, ketchup, avocados, cucumber with lime juice was very fresh. Came with lots of shrimp and octopus pieces. Crispy Steak Taco was so good, steak was tender and flavorful. Quesabirria was very tasty and the birria was cook to perfection. Very tender!! The service was pretty fast, you order at the counter, pay for it and they bring the food out when its when ready to your table. It didn't take too long. The Vegan Burrito with fajita veggies checked all the boxes; amazing flavor and texture. It has been hard to find a burrito with a good ratio of vegetables in Livermore since Anita's closed. The salsa verde has a delicious herbaceous flavor profile. Red salsa has a nice depth of flavor and medium spice. Both complemented the burrito well without over powering it. I ordered this for delivery. Vegans please note the side of beans had cheese melted on top which was easily removed with a fork. I added the pico de gallo to the beans which made a heavenly dip for the chips. Reasonable price; good value. 4 out of 5 stars because the rice in the burrito was heavily salted, and the lettuce in the burrito was soggy/limp from the heat. Will definitely go back again. The grilled chicken and shredded chicken tacos were tasty and pretty filling on their own. We also tried out the super nachos which were pretty good, but could've used more cheese imo. The agua frescas were great - I especially loved the horchata. They also have a salsa bar with a few salsas to try and fresh chips. The service was good and the staff is friendly. It's located right in downtown so there's plenty of parking around. There's lots of seating inside the shop and some outside as well. You'll order at the register. This spot is a hidden gem in downtown Livermore! It's a spacious restaurant with a cozy feel. The staff is very welcoming and attentive, excellent customer service. I got the Nacho Fries with Carne Asada, no guacamole (allergy). The fries were perfectly golden brown and crisp, the carne asada was tender and flavorful, and the sour cream and pickled jalapeños added a great touch. They definitely give you a generous portion, you can absolutely share it with others. My friends had al pastor tacos, so I decided to get an al pastor burrito to go! I ordered the 2 tacos with rice & beans and felt like NOTHING had flavor. The sides weren't fresh at all! The rice and beans were cold and I couldn't eat it. The grilled chicken wasn't grilled. It was cut up into tiny noon existent little pieces and drenched in a red sauce. I was expecting grilled chicken. The chips and salsa bar wasn't great. All the chips were broken or intentionally cut in half long ways so you never got a full sized tortilla chip. The tiniest amount of broken chips fit into the smallest bowl they give you. The cardboard bowl was so small and thin when I told my husband to ask for another bowl, the lady at the cash register said she gave me 2 bowls. They were actually stuck together. The salsas were disappointing too. The salsa doesn't fit into those tiny sauce cups. Those cups are for condiments to-go like soy sauce or ketchup not salsa. You can't even dip your chip into that tiny little cup. It doesn't fit. I felt like they cut corners to save money and it affected the quality of their food and the whole dining experience. read more

This place is disgusting. My two spider tacos had three strips of black avocado on top of each one and the meat smelled like it was expired. when I called and asked for the manager. The girl told me there was no manager, and when I asked to speak with whoever was in chargr she hung up on me. I wouldn't feed that garbage to me to my dog. so just beware. So bummed to be writing this but was so disappointed. Went in on Friday night and took some friends to try it for their first time about 25 minutes before closing. One of them ordered a vegetarian burrito but was given a vegetarian taco instead. When my friend went to the register to let them know the order provided was incorrect, they handled it soo unprofessionally. Instead of apologizing and making things right, they told him they could give him the burrito but they would need to pay for the difference even though the error was made on their end. They provided two different prices of what the difference was that my friend would have to pay. Being that the burrito was what they asked for they agreed to pay the difference. When the burrito was brought over, the employee, who I believe was the manager said they needed to take the taco back. The whole situation was awkward and handled so inappropriately (especially being that the manager was involved). I personally have never been inside the actual restaurant and have only had their food via DoorDash and absolutely loved it but I was a bit embarrassed for raving about the place to my friends and then having the awful experience at the restaurant. Not only did they mess up the order, charge more but also was rushing to close by putting chairs up on tables and starting to clean before we were even finished even with other tables having customers as well. Being that the experience was so unpleasant it's making me second guess continuing to go here anymore.
