My wife and I recently got dinner at Tacos Livermore on a Wednesday evening while we were stopping by Downtown. When we stepped inside, the entire restaurant was pretty empty. I ordered a "49'rs Burrito -- Meat, rice, beans, salsa, lettuce, sour cream, guac, cheese covered in enchilada sauce", and opted for lengua (beef tongue) as my protein. While we waited for our food, we helped ourselves to chips at the salsa station, which had a wide assortment of garnishes and salsas. I really enjoyed the pico de gallo they had here. Overall, I thought the burrito was just alright. My two criticisms were that the beef tongue and the enchilada sauce lathered on top both tasted a bit bland and lacked seasoning. Although the salsa from the salsa bar made the burrito significantly better, I wish the individual components of the burrito were better prepared. To the side of the plated burrito was a large mountain of lettuce garnished with a generous spoon of "guac". I put guac in quotes because I'm skeptical the guac was made purely from avocados. The watery and creamy texture of the sauce, along with the unnatural green color, is not typical of authentic guacamole. Overall, I would give my experience a 3.5 that rounds up to a 4. The large portion sizes here definitely deliver on value.

3 huge tacos - pastor, chicken, steak

I think I found my new favorite place for tacos, and let me tell you, I'm not even a fan of tacos! But their tacos were delicious. I ordered 3 tacos- pastor, grilled chicken, and grilled beef. The pastor was my favorite, but the chicken and beef were just as good. The meat were very well seasoned, and a good amount of meat was given. These tacos weren't small either, and I like how thin the tortilla were. I also like that you can grab your own chips and salsa, and all their sauces was good! I paid about under $12 for 3 large tacos :)

Making my way downtown (Livermore)... Their lunch deal made us whip our heads around so fast. $10 for 3 tacos and a drink?? This is a solid addition to the area! It's super spacious and wasn't too busy on a weekday afternoon, so we ordered right away and sat down. Food came out in less than 5 minutes. There's a bar with different salsas + limes + radishes, and we were able to fill our own cup with whatever aguas frescas was available. Tacos were pretty good and satisfying for how hungry we were. While I've had better tacos elsewhere, I would still come back because that lunch deal is sooolid and service was prompt.

We've tried Tacos Livermore when they first opened and have been back a couple times. We didn't go often because the flavors were a bit lacking; however, I was surprised after stopping in after I hadn't been in a while. The al pastor tacos have gotten much better and tastier which means I'll be back more often! I recommend the al pastor tacos and carne en su jugo. The salsa bar is also well stocked and clean. Service is quick!

Just an update, since we've now gone back for something other than tacos. The Wife had chicken fajitas, while I ordered the camarones a la diabla. Her dish was ok, the chicken wasn't like a chicken breast sliced, more like ground up meat. My dish was quite hot with the adobo sauce, but I could still taste the paprika, and the heat didn't linger long. The cerveza helped with that. We might just stick with tacos here. We did like the chip and salsa bar as well.

My husband & I decided to try this place out. We're always looking for new restaurants in town. This one has a great location right on First Street in the mix with all the downtown spots. You order at the counter. They have a pretty good variety of different dishes. I ordered a beef taco and a shrimp taco, and then their Taco Livermore pastor taco as well. My husband ordered the chile relleno burrito. We also had a side of rice & beans. I really enjoyed all three of the tacos. My husband said his burrito was good, but probably wouldn't order it again. He said the chile was only in one part of the burrito which was disappointing for all the other bites. The beans were really good and rice was as well. They had a couple good beers on tap, and the complimentary chips & salsa were good too! The staff was very friendly. We will probably be back again.

My bf and i were craving some Mexican Cuisine and decided to try something new. We've passed by this place a few times now and decided to try it. The staff are very kind and give you a warm welcome, and the service is very timely. I also enjoyed the ambiance of Mexican music at a reasonable volume. Unfortunately the food was less than sub par.... They charged me twice for an enchilada so we paid $50. I ordered an enchilada plate and the enchilada sauce was sour and old, the chicken was hard and dry, but the rice and beans were great of course. Our horchata was basically just colored water. However; My bf enjoyed his asada quesadilla. The salsa bars salsa was a week old and sour. The churros were dry and crunchy with no flavor. We will not be coming to this establishment again. Please do not put week old spoiled salsa in your salsa bar.

They have the best pastor tacos! keep the taco Tuesdays coming guys! We'll be back for more!

Didn't have a great experience... order tacos de lengua and the tortilla was so soggy . Taco fell apart when I picked it up

Came here for late night for cinco de mayo and was pleasantly surprised!! Everything we ordered was so delicious!! You order at the front and they bring the food out to you. We ordered: - carne en su jugo -2 fish tacos -2 tacos livermore -1 quesabirria -churros The carne en su jugo and the tacos livermore was our favorite!! The carne en su jugo was super flavorful and sooo good!! It comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas that you can make your own taco with on the side. The tacos livermore was so delicious and was the cashier's recommendation. It had al pastor meat and hints of pineapple. The fish tacos were also really delicious. The quesabirria was okay, I didn't order it with consume so it was just alright to me. The churros were also good!! The strawberries that it came with were really sweet, you can tell it's from the farmers market and not store bought. Don't forget to grab complimentary chips and salsa on the corner (: Definitely coming back for the tacos livermore and the carne en su jugo. Love that it is located in the heart of downtown livermore!

I'm definitely impressed with Tacos Livermore! The interior is so vibrant! We ordered at the counter and then enjoyed their wonderful (and free!) chips and salsa bar. My family and I sat on the patio and out came our food and drinks. I went with shrimp ceviche (enormous!) and a mimosa. Everything was so tasty. I'll definitely be back. I'm eyeing you, breakfast burrito.

First time here. EATS: -Nachos w/al pastor: (3/5). I'm a nacho girl, and will eat nachos as an entree. They have the spit w/the meat so I had high hopes but unfortunately the meat was a bit tough to eat. not tender. wished it had more flavor. nacho portion size was smaller than expected. the cheese is sprinkled on top and plate is popped into the microwave. I would like to see them offer the option of the classic nacho cheese, it's so iconic for nachos. -burrito w/asada: (4/5) Hubby enjoyed it. his go-to is a burrito! -Quesabirrias: (3/5) We got 2 to try. Visually, they had a beautiful color to them, and grill marks - green flags. It had that crunch on the outside, and generous with the meat. It was tender, but unfortunately lacked flavor for my palate. Salt helped a little. I was also disappointed that it didn't come w/the consome (the dipping broth) and instead came w/ a side of a salsa. the overall presentation was nice though. Chips and salsa bar was well stocked and various salsas to choose from. The staff was friendly.

Love this addition to downtown Livermore! Large Mexican restaurant with plenty of seating inside and patio seating available outside. Bright and clean inside. Large menu. Order at the counter and seat yourself. I like the chip and salsa bar. Loved the sizzling shrimp fajitas and my tacos. Both the carne asada and shrimp tacos were full of meat and topped with fresh cilantro and salsa. I like how the shrimp taco was topped with guac and a drizzle of crema as well. I would love to try the beef soup once the weather cools down.

The ambiance is cute with a small closed off glass area of wine and two seater table inside! Our waitress Dominique was amazing. She was able to give great recommendations for wines and food. She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. I liked the marinades that came with it. I liked this dish with the rice because it made me feel homey. Good portion of fish. - Agua Chile Ribeye: This is a must have! The ribeye is sous vide so it was soo tender and juicy. The broth was really nice to keep everything moist and flavorful. Because we were celebrating a birthday, Dominique made a dessert with a nice special touch. Will definitely be back again!

We had the carnitas super burrito and the taco plate with al pastor and chorizo tacos. Yummy! My carnitas burrito was huge! Thr tortilla has a nice crust from being grilled. The tacos has good flavor. Chorizo was spicy without being overly hot. Pastor meat was excellent. Good place for a filling meal! Many birthdays and family celebrations have taken place here over the years and one of the family favorites has always been their chips and salsa. We love it so much that often when we are making our own Mexican food at home, we will pick it up just as a side for the dinner. However, the last 6 times (not kidding) I have come and asked for the MILD chips and salsa, we get home and it is the super hot version. Now I'm not a complainer as I will eat any type of salsa, but our kids crave the mild because the hot is too much for them. One of the most common complaints among guests with Casa is that their prices don't match the quality or service. This is a perfect example. It costs nearly $20 for a bag of chips and a quart of salsa and to get home and have it been inedible for our family, is ridiculous. This has happened time and time again even after asking the hosting staff to "double check", "please make sure", "are you sure this is mild?" This obviously isn't the only issue. As many others have mentioned, food quality has gone down hill as a whole. Sometimes food seems stale or rushed. If Casa wants to remain a Livermore staple, it really needs to work on making the quality of their service match their pricing expectations. I am to the point where I guess I will have to dip a chip in the parking lot before taking it home.
