What a letdown! The pictures looks SOOOO friggin' good which is why I chose this place. And even my pics LOOK good, but man this was just a big unexpected dump in the bed. Even the beer sucked. First, there is is a plus... the calamari appetizer was delicious. They had rings and tentacles and it was hot and crispy. The sauce had a nice tang to it. The bummer was it was supposed to have peppers fried with it, and it did... but there were only 2 of them. Minor miss there. It was also kind of a small portion. As far as tacos go... I picked this place for the sea bass taco and they happened to be out of that one. Oh well... the waitress recommended the steak instead. So I got a crispy shrimp, crispy cod, and steak taco. And they looked amazing... looks aren't everything though (that's what people keep telling me, anyway). I started with the steak and the meat on top was cold. The flavors were good but how does that happen? It was 7p on a Friday so it wasn't like I was there at some weird time. I want hot meat on a Friday night!!! The Shrimp Taco was OK but the shrimp were all fused together with batter. A lot of batter works on a cake beater for lickin', or at an epic inning in baseball, but not on fried shrimp. Again, good flavor, but poor execution. At least it was hot. Finally, the crispy cod was crispy but again, cold. I did eat that taco last so that could have been why. But it wasn't like 10 mins later or anything. It should have had some heat to it still as it was pretty big and the breading should have retained the heat. That's how physics works. The salad tasted good but seemed it was dressed way before it was service, so it was a little wilted. It's a shame as this place has so much potential, but sadly, they just didn't provide anything fresh other than the appetizer. I remember coming to this location when they first opened. Literally when the plaza was just built. I always enjoyed their seasonal menu changes. I'm surprised I never reviewed this place but then again I wasn't much a yelper back then. The staff are still spot on with service. Haven't once had a negative experience from any staff I've come across here. I still enjoy their menu items. Last visit, we had some sticky ribs, coconut shrimp, ceviche, and grilled salmon chowder. Good spot in a shopping plaza with plenty of space, which makes it great for larger groups. Came here for a friend's birthday and they were able to accommodate our party of 11 without any issues. I ordered the miso cod fish plate, which comes with green beans and rice. The cod was absolutely delicious--super tender and buttery, it practically melted in your mouth. It paired really well with the furikake rice and green beans. Others at the table ordered the Wagyu burger and said it was good. I also really appreciate their birthday freebie. They're surprisingly generous with that and give you a bowl. I usually visit either this Dublin location or the Walnut Creek one. My most recent visit was to redeem my birthday reward, and my sister happened to have one as well, so we dined together and ordered a few additional items. At the end of the meal, we asked to split the check so we could each earn points on our own rewards accounts. I found it odd that our waiter was reluctant to do this and explained it was because he didn't want to risk being shorted on tips. He ended up charging everything to one account, which meant the other didn't receive any points in the rewards app. This experience didn't sit quite right with me. They even have heaters for colder days which makes it comfortable year round. One of our favorite recent additions is their dog menu, which is such a fun and thoughtful touch for our dog that always accompanies us. It makes the experience even more enjoyable! Husband, two kids and I came here during happy hour because we were catching dinner before a movie. I think there might have been about 30 minutes of happy hour left so we quickly ordered a few appetizer style meals and two beers. The food was delicious and so fresh. It was also unique and aesthetically pleasing. Our kids love sushi so they loved this and devoured it. The service was also great. The waitress was definitely busy but when we wanted to order two more beers and happy hour had just ended, she gave it to us for the happy hour price. This Pacific Catch is located in Dublin, not too far after changing to the 580 east and exiting off the freeway. You will find this nestled into a shopping center a few minutes away from the exit. It's decently sized location, as there's outdoor seating, and also plenty of bar area seating along with just the casual dining area seating too to the left. Pacific Catch offers a variety of seafood options, but also has other options such as steak, ribs, and none meat options, but they are primarily a seafood spot. I mean, it's in the name. Also, a touch of Asian fusion in their food. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be on the cheaper side even for the non-seafood stuff, but it's also not too expensive compared to other places that offers this kind of dining style and food options. Service was good too, though we were seated in the further back room, and that did stifle the servers coming by more often So now, let's go over some of the food that they have here. The fries calamari appetizer was pretty good. Good portions, good sauce, fried well and the batter was nice and light. The steak and ribs was what I got, and it was quite delicious. The amount of ribs you get with this was a ton, and the ribs were done perfectly as they will fall right off the bone when you bite into them. I did wish there was more sauce on there, but nevertheless yummy. The steak was also great, cooked perfectly, and tasted great, but I just wish there was a bigger portion of it. For those ordering the steak, just be aware it's mostly just a smaller piece sliced into smaller slices (6-7), so if you really wanted a steak from like a steakhouse, don't expect that here. It was great, but yeah, not so filling. The rest of the dish was interesting though because it comes with kimchi fried rice and also an egg on top, with some tasty brussels and cucumbers. Definitely had an Asian flare to the dish with the ribs style and all too. I did have some of the lobster as the lobster they give you here is great price wise, as most places that give you lobster it's tiny, but the size of the ones here are generous for sure. Flavors were fine for it too. However, I did feel that the lobster here was a bit tough, as it chewy. I had several pieces of this tail, so it wasn't just that one section. It was on the tougher side (which I don't mind), but feels maybe it had been overcooked a bit or something. The guac poke dip was tasty, and comes with lots of chips around it. I mean, I don't have much else to say about it really other than it's tasty guac and fish. No complaints with it. All in all, Pacific Catch at this spot is a nice seafood option for those who want some decent food at a sit down spot. The portions of the food here were all pretty good across the board. The prices are going to be a bit more expensive, but most of the stuff here is seafood so it's understandable. The ribs and steak were definitely better than I thought they would be, particularly the ribs (steak was great but portions small) which was cooked just as ribs should be. Came here one afternoon around 2 on a Friday. Was able to get seated right when we arrived. We had the option of sitting either inside or outside but we opted for inside. Once seated our waiter immediately came with water and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. After deliberating for a couple mins (& our waiter checking to see if we were ready to order) we decided on what we wanted. Our food came out really fast and was super flavorful. I will say they're a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of the food IMO is worth it. Our waiter was real attentive and kept checking on us and making sure we had all we needed. I left the restaurant and went home only to realize later that night that i had lost an AirPod. After 15 hours of not noticing (based on my find my app) i found that it had been left at the restaurant. Maybe put it on a paper towel to soak up the oil before plating. Japanese Wasabi Bowl: Delish!! Loved the ahi tuna. Fish & Chips: Except my hubby subbed a salad for fries (who does that?!) The crispy calamari with peppers and lemon was very tasty and came out hot, and the shrimp tempura was solid. The Hawaiian teriyaki grilled chicken had good, well-balanced flavors, and our server was excellent--personable, attentive, and welcoming. However, the entrée was barely warm, which impacted the experience. The "grilled" pineapple also didn't appear grilled, lacking the expected caramelization. I considered sending it back, but we were short on time and didn't want to inconvenience our server. For a restaurant at this price point, I expect better attention to detail and consistency. Can it really be 7 years since our last visit to Pacific Catch? Yes. This is a review that compares what I remember from 2018. And both cases we came specifically for their happy hour, now called Aloha Hour. Definitely upon comparison of my prior review, it appears that the Aloha Hour menu has shrunken from years past, and definitely prices have followed in line with the rest of the world as I previously had written that my extensive happy hour order was within $50. Let's poke options, less sushi roll options, and I don't even see calamari anymore! Nonetheless, we were able to make do and have an enjoyable and satisfying early dinner comprised of all the Aloha Hour menu offerings. We ordered the PuPu Platter to get a good sampling of the coconut shrimp, pork belly sliders, guaca poke with tortilla chips, and sea bass skewers. We also ordered the sticky ribs and the herb garlic eggplant. This totaled before tax and tip $42. Flavors were bold and rich, but definitely did not take me back to Hawaii or resemble authentic Japanese food. The patio dining experience was nice given we were treated to great weather this evening in Dublin which isn't always the case. Service was adequate, although the entire patio was limited to one waitress. So again, at times, we would have to specifically call out for our water glasses to be refilled. However the waitress was definitely accommodating and friendly. This was a solid experience, however, it wouldn't be one that I would run back to in a heartbeat. read more

I must say this place has some good fish and chips! It comes with a side of fries or sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Their coleslaw is amazing! Thinly sliced and the sauce is amazeballs. It's not full of mayo and tossed in a sesame sauce. The fish is meaty and flakey. Not oily but it's a hit or miss. Last time I ordered the fish batter was coming apart. Their tarter sauce has a slight kick but it goes really well with it. I also have tried their calami and it's nice and crispy. Not too chewy. We recently adopted a dog and were on the hunt for a pet friendly restaurant. I knew Lazy Dog was a popular spot but I didn't realize Pacific Catch also allows dogs. Once I found that out I made a reservation for the outdoor patio for a Saturday lunch. The host walked us right to the patio after I mentioned our reservation. Our server Mickey was super attentive from the start. She even brought out a dog menu with options like chicken with brown rice, salmon with brown rice, ground beef with brown rice, and carrots with brown rice. We went with the salmon and rice for our pup and the portion was surprisingly generous. We have a French bulldog so she ate half there and we saved the rest to take home. I ordered the Japanese wasabi bowl and swapped the regular ahi poke for the serrano ahi. I also got a side of wonton chips to eat it like nachos which was perfect. My partner got the Lobster tail w/mashed potatoes and broccolini. He said it was really good especially the mashed potatoes. I tried them too and totally agree. I've eaten at the SF and San Mateo locations and have had good experiences there so when my kiddo was asking for fish and chips, we made our way out to Pacific Catch in Dublin. It's in the Persimmon Place shopping center so parking is good and it has an upscale casual vibe (that is also reflected in the prices). The kiddo got the fish and chips off the kids menu and I got Barramunda Sea Bass cooked in the passion fruit glaze with sesame green beans and mashed potatoes. The fish and chips were solid- two good sized pieces of fish that were nicely cooked and tasty along with sweet potato fries and some broccoli. We also added a drink (lemonade) and a scoop of ice cream to the kids dinner for an additional $5. My fish was tasty as well. The passion fruit glaze didn't pop as much as I thought it might though it was still tasty. The potatoes were good and I was surprised how much I liked the green beans. Likely it was due to a lot of butter being used! Overall, a nice dinner for me and the kid. We were in search of a late lunch/early dinner and a friend from out of town remembered Pacific Catch. We walked in at 3:30 and found that they were offering Aloha Hour. Their menu looked really good! We were seated at a table on a slightly raised area near the bar. It was easy to people watch from our table. Our server was Nicky, efficient, friendly and very pleasant. We ordered: Pupu Platter (they were out of sea bass skewers so they asked if they could sub with ribs instead) Fries Thai Brussels sprouts Herb garlic eggplant It was a lot of food! I would have liked to try their sea bass skewers so we'll have to return another time. The fries and eggplant were okay. The pork belly sliders (new item) and brussels sprouts were outstanding. The sliders had a slice of pineapple which added a nice sweet touch. As we were finishing up, my friend surprised us with birthday dessert! What a thoughtful and beautiful way to end our meal. They brought out pineapple upside down cake and lava cake, both with a generous bowls of ice cream. I am the chocolate lover so after sharing the lava cake with my two friends, I devoured the rest. Both desserts looked festive and special. I was too full to taste the pineapple dessert. As we were getting ready to leave, a gentleman stopped by our table and told us he had been watching us and we had been there for quite some time. He could tell we were having a wonderful time eating and chatting. We all thought he was the manager asking us to leave! Instead, he said he and his wife are regulars on Fridays and if you wear a Hawaiian shirt, the first mai tai is only $6. He also mentioned that we were sitting at his usual table! He said we are sitting in a section with the best server too. We all got a chuckle out of him. We were not rushed by our server at all. She was around so we could ask for anything we needed. "Friendly Servers, Great Happy Hour Menu." It's been years since I came to this restaurant, and decided to give it another try. On an early weekday evening, there was no trouble with parking. Keep in mind it can be tight here. They have a regular weekday happy hour from 3:00 to 6:00, and even on the weekends from 3:00 to 5:00. Outstanding happy hour menu! I especially like the simplicity of the options. Sushi and tacos. And of course, beer. During happy hour, they have tacos for $6.50. I decided on two Cod Baja tacos, seared. They're much larger than I expected and a filling meal. Of course I had to top it off with a light beer. Also a great deal. Although this deal was excellent, I want to try one of their salmon bowls on my next visit. The bowls are not on the happy hour menu, but are still reasonably priced. Ordered takeout to enjoy a day at the park. Great food from the Catch paired with today's great weather in the East Bay. Can't be beat! Played it safe by ordering our favorites Korean BBQ and Mexican Grill Chile-Lime Shrimp Bowl substituted for Serrano Ahi Poke. Our picnic turned out perfect! So glad we chose the Catch.
