The place is spacious and has some big booths for large parties. We selected one for 5 of us and we had plenty of room. We ordered agadashi and gyoza for appetizers, 2 3-item bento boxes, chirasashi, hamachi hand roll, rainbow roll and orange blossom roll and children's bento with salmon teriyaki. The service was friendly and we enjoyed the fresh sashimi and sushi. They have such a big menu. I had tempura, beef teriyaki and salmon teriyaki bento box with big portions. This was my first visit to this restaurant. It appeared clean and spacious. There were the regular tables and booths. We were directed to a booth. Each booth had individual seats with cushions. It wasn't easy to slide in as the individual seats moved as well as the cushions. There also wasn't a lot of free space to easily move. I found myself trying to adjust the seat position and cushion once I slid over to my space. It would have been helpful to have the cushions attached to the seats. Ume Sushi has an extensive regular menu as well as their lunch special menu. I ordered their 2-item bento from the lunch menu. I tried their chicken teriyaki and California roll. They gave enough sauce on my chicken teriyaki which had great flavor. The California roll looked huge. Then I discovered it was really 8 pieces, not 4. The miso tofu soup was tasty. I really enjoyed the salad with its yummy salad dressing. It wasn't wet with water as I had to endure at some other restaurants. The salad also had enough salad dressing for the amount of salad. The waitress was good about making sure we had enough tea and water. I definitely would come back to Ume Sushi. However, I would sit at the regular table instead of sitting in the booth.
