Came here on a Sunday night and was seated immediately, which was a great start! The Korean guy working was so charming and welcoming, he really made us feel at home. The restaurant is small and cozy, with K-pop playing and Korean TV on in the background. It honestly felt like we were in Korea, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The menu is a dream if you're a katsu fan, with so many different options to choose from. We tried the Yumee Katsu (the OG katsu), the tteokbokki with katsu (which I had to try!), and the curry katsu. Everything was delicious. My 5yo picky eater absolutely devoured the udon (ofc w/no toppings) which is always a win! This place is super family-friendly, but it also seems like a great spot to meet up with friends with the alcohol selection. And the $1 Melona popsicles are such a fun bonus!
Yumee Katsu absolutely delivered. Everything we ordered was solid, satisfying, and genuinely delicious. The standout for me was the katsu curry. The katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside while staying tender inside, and the curry was rich, flavorful, and completely addictive. I kept going back for another bite even when I was already getting full. The udon noodle soup was comforting and well-balanced, while the cold soba noodles were refreshing and nicely textured. I also loved the chewy spicy cold noodles--they had a great bite and just the right amount of spice, making them surprisingly memorable. Portions here are incredibly generous. Even after eating until I was stuffed, my plate still looked full. Definitely great value for the amount of food you get. The meal also comes with kimchi and yellow radish sides, which were the perfect complement. Their freshness and acidity helped cut through the richness of the fried dishes and tied everything together nicely. Overall, a delicious meal with generous portions and plenty of variety. I'd happily come back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you're craving quality katsu and comforting noodle dishes.
Stumbled on this place when me and my fam were looking for a place to have a late lunch after shopping at the outlets. I love me a good curry katsu plate, and appreciated how they also offer noodles with their katsu, as my bf prefers that instead of rice. We were shocked to notice the spicy noodles come out cold (we absolutely love cold noodles) since not many places offer that. We were so impressed at how tasty literally everything we ordered was. The staff were also so nice and welcoming, and inside was pretty spacious with many filled tables. This will definitely be our new go-to spot to come by after a shopping day at the outlets!
SUCH GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE!! 3 orders feeds 4 people super well! Huge portions!! My favorite was the assorted katsu - the katsu meat was so tender and the breading was perfect. I also loved the cold noodle katsu - it said it's 3 chili level spiciness, but it didn't feel too spicy at all! The little plates were so good too - I loved the soup!! Will definitely be coming back for the curry katsu. Highly recommend this place!!
When we arrived on a Saturday night, we got seated right away. We're a party of 2. We ordered the Yumee Katsu and the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice which were both delicious. The katsu were very juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The restaurant was very quiet overall with diners chatting within their tables so this is a great restaurant if you're looking for something quiet. I would come back here again.
Absolutely delicious! I completely understand why the wait is so long, because my taste buds were having a blast! I came on a weekend and even at the odd hours of 2:30pm, we had to wait 45ish minutes. I loved that the katsu didn't taste like oil. The service was efficient. While the place is quite small, it is well maintained. Can't wait to come back!
Assorted Katsu Add On Mini Udon -- delicious combo of everything! Love the side dishes of radish, cabbage salad with a citrus sauce and a light soup. I liked the variety of katsu. Shrimp was very light, cheese katsu was nice despite it getting a little cold to not have a cheese pull, katsu was not overcooked and fresh and flakey. Curry Katsu Rice -- curry sauce was delicious and not thick. The same side dishes come with every dish. Overall quick service, delicious food, easy to order through the kiosk.
Came here for a quick bite and tried the Curry Katsu Udon. It was solid and exactly what I was expecting: good comfort food, nothing too over-the-top. The pickle banchan and side salad were a nice touch and really refreshing between bites of the curry. One thing to note: you order directly from the tablet at the table, which I didn't realize at first, but it made the service super fast. The atmosphere was a nice surprise too, they were playing K-pop and the place has a much stronger Korean vibe than I initially thought. Definitely a cool spot!
Stopped by here on a rainy day with my friends! I ordered the spicy noodle chicken katsu, it was sweet, slightly savory, and was differently unique! I am more of a savory person, so this one threw me in for a loop! I like how the noodles were cold. It tasted great however I definitely was eyeing my friend's curry LOL. There were several customers eating already, our food came out around 10 minutes. Price is decent for the large amount you get. Yumee more like Yummy!

We were actually debating on whether or not we wanted to try Yumee this past Friday, but at the newly opened Castro Valley location. We ended up not going on Friday, but ended up trying Yumee at the Dublin location for dinner today. This location has been established at this location for a while now, and it's in a fairly popular plaza with plenty of parking available. We had a party of six (one toddler), and they don't have too many tables for parties larger than four, so we waited just a bit. Even at peak dinner time, it doesn't seem like wait is too bad since turnover is fairly quick. I originally wanted to try the Curry Udon with Fried Vegetables, but they ran out, so I ended up getting Chicken Katsu with Curry Udon. My partner got a Kimchi Nabe. The rest of my party members got a Curry Katsu Rice, another Kimchi Nabe, and a Cheese Katsu with a side of hot soba (mini) for the toddler. Even though the restaurant was full, food was prepared fairly quickly. I think we waited about 10-15 mins for the full order to be fulfilled. I liked that each of entrees came with sides. My Chicken Katsu came with a small side of soup, shredded cabbage, pickled daikon, and a bit of kimchi. I thought the addition of these sides were really nice to break up the flavor of the entree. My chicken katsu was delicious. It's sliced up in perfect sizes - not too thick or thin. The chicken is still tender, soft, still a bit juicy, and pretty sizable too. But I think what makes this one of the better katsu I've had is that the breading was perfect. The breading covered every outer surface area, and texture was just on point. It's neither too coarse or too fine of a breading. The udon noodles were nice and chewy. And the curry was not heavy, but also has a nice, deep flavor to it. As for the Kimchi Nabe, it was a tolerable amount of spice for me. I can't handle too much spice, but I can usually handle the spiciness from kimchi. The Kimchi Nabe came with a thick katsu. I think this would have been too heavy of a meal for me if I gone for this myself, but I'm just sampling from my partner's plate! The katsu was also pretty delicious, though you don't get as much of the crispy breading with the Nabe since it's all covered in sauce! I like that the Nabe came with not only kimchi, but some other mix of veggies too. I had a few slices of mushroom, and some onions as well. The kimchi also had a very nice deep flavor to it, so I'm wondering if they make this in-house. I can see how this pairs nicely with a bowl of rice. My table also ordered a bottle of beer to share and I love that they had chilled beer mugs ready to go. It made the beer taste extra refreshing. It's these little details like the little side dishes and chilled mugs that go a long way sometimes! A great katsu experience. Although this was my first time trying, I think Yumee has beat all the other katsu places I've tried around the Bay. I just hope that the Castro Valley location is just as good, not only quality wise, but also service as well. The staff here is tentative, friendly, and quick! I think this guy (maybe the owner or manager) even offered my niece a mini Melona ice cream bar at the end of her meal!
This is a Korean curry restaurant and the food was very good! Pork was fried to perfection! The place was clean and well organized. The server was very attentive and prompt . The water they served had a hint of fresh lemon, very good flavor to pair with the food. I def think it's not sink water, it's filtered water! Overall portion was substantial and flavor was 5/5! Will visit again!
This strip mall is pretty busy with several other restaurants. I've been to a few restaurants in this mall. Every table was full when we arrived, we put in our name and waited about 5 minutes. A menu is on the side of the table that you can order from. We put in our orders and I thought the pork looked a little under cooked so I sent it back asking for it to be not pink. The manager came over and said it was fine but if you want it cooked longer he would send it back. I had the chicken katsu with curry. I liked my katsu curry and want to try the chewy noodles next visit.

Excellent katsu spot- portions, flavors and customer service! We enjoyed the curry katsu, assorted katsu with a side of cold soba noodles, and the tonkatsu with chewy spicy noodles. All were delicious. My daughter's order was taking longer than the rest.. they had given it to another table in error. Not sure if he's the owner or manager, super apologetic and gave us an order of tteokbokki on the house. Hubby doesn't normally eat spicy but he tried it, enjoyed it, even if he had to drink the whole carafe of water. Great spot and we will definitely be back. read more

We were so lucky when we scored a table for 9 ppl at 12:45pm on a Saturday. It was easy to order on the tablet. Food came out pretty fast. We probably waited less than 10 minutes after we ordered. Food was delicious! Everything was hot and fresh! The portions are quite large. The curry almost taste like bbq sauce. I'm glad I got it on the side. A little goes a long way. There was enough meat for the 4 of us. We just needed to order some udon sides and extra rice. The kids got free melona popsicles after our meal. The owner is so generous! We will be back! read more
Ordered delivery and couldn't make up my mind about which protein I wanted, so yay for the Assorted Katsu. You get to try the pork katsu, shrimp katsu, and cheese katsu. I liked it. It was like a momma's home cookin'. Comes with rice, salad, soup, sides of sauce, wasabi, kimchi, and pickled radish - making excellent flavor combinations. I knocked off a star though because even with putting the side of soup in its own little separate bag, it's still spilled so I only ended up with half of it. read more

[IN A NUTSHELL] great korean food, cheese katsu, chewy noodles [VERDICT] - APPROVED [RUN-DOWN] A great place for some good katsu if you are looking for a place for that. Came here for dinner and it was a great place to have dinner. The place is around other restaurants and the katsu was crunchy and deliious. The highlight to me was the chewy noodles. Most of the time people want more soft noodles but these were so chewy and in my opinion, the best thing that we tried. I thought the cheese katsu would be the best, but there was no cheese pull HAHA. [SCORE & ORDER] OVERALL: 3.38/5 Shrimp Curry Udon $20.99 (2.5/5) -Honestly dissaoppointed by this dish... The curry was super good and it was more flavorful which I enjoyed. The udon was also good, but I think it was overcooked and became too soft. It broke as soon as I lifted it. The most disspointing portion of this was the shrimp tempura. The batter to shrimp ratio was terrible. There was way too much batter that I thought that the shrimp was grounded shrimp mushed together. After further inspection, I realized that it was just too much batter. I would recommend getting a curry dish, but not this one. ** Yumee Katsu $17.99 (4/5) ** -Pork Katsu Cutlet with Side Dishes -A very good cut of katsu pork cutlet. The crush of the katsu was crunch and I really liked the flakiness of the breading. The pork was super soft/juicy and esepcially good dipped in the katsu sauce (or the curry). I would recommend getting this one but with curry. The salad that it comes with it had a yuzu taste to it that I apprecitaed. They also recommend the wasabi to be dipped with the katsu which I thought was a good flavor profile. Cheese Katsu (6pcs) $11.99 (3/5) -As I right this, I realzied that it said 6 pieces.... and we only got 4 pieces :( rip HAHA -For flavor and overall dish, this one was good and it's always nice seeing a pool of cheese. However, there was no cheese pull and unsure if this was due to the fact that it was cold or if it was not the right type of cheese. The breading was the same as the katsu and I would recommend if you cheese. I also dipped this in the currey sauce which may have made it better since it was lacking some flavor. ** Chicken Katsu Spicy Chewy Noodle Spicy $17.99 (4/5) ** -THE STAR DISH -This was my favorite dish of the night. The tonkatsu they make here is delicious. The choice of pork they use is very tender, even when it's thick slices. The food is served with small side dishes and a hot soup. It's very well balanced. This place has really good katsu. You can get katsu in pork, chicken, fish, cheese, shrimp, etc. This is a very popular place for family. We came here over MLK weekend and around noon. The wait was around 45 minutes. I ordered King Don Katsu and I was sharing with my mother in law. The size was huge. I got it with regular sauce to try. It's tomato based and no spice at all. My daughter got the curry katsu and it had a good spice level to it. It was still a pretty big portion. Great place for family but expect a wait. read more
New katsu spot in the east bay, yay! They're located near the Target by the Livermore outlets. We visited for a weekend lunch and walked in without a wait, but quickly afterward the restaurant began to fill up QUICKLY and by the time we left, there was a huge queue outside of the restaurant. The restaurant is pretty small so be prepared for a wait if you're coming at a busy time. My BF and I only ordered two things to share: the regular curry katsu and tteokbokki. The curry was rich and delicious! The katsu was alright; some pieces were a bit dry. My favorite between the two was surprisingly the tteokbokki lol. The rice cakes were SUPER good and the sauce was at the perfect spice level for me. Ordering is done via an iPad at your table so there's minimal interaction with the server. read more

Came here for a late lunch with some friends after Activate. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were immediately seated upon walking in. We ordered the Cheese Katsu to share it was just OK. There wasn't anything really special about it. I ordered the Donkatsu Spicy Chewy Noodle and didn't realize it was the Korean spicy cold noodle. The katsu was also just OK, the breading could've been better. My husband ordered the Topokki Katsu. Had high expectations before arriving since I had this place bookmark for the longest time. Didn't feel like the food was special given the price. I've had better katsu at other restaurants. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. This spot is going to be a no for me. read more

1.1.26 NY Dinner! I was super excited to try this new katsu spot as there are a few in the bay area. FOOD: They have a variety of katsu dishes including regular katsu with rice +sauce, katsu curry and katsu udon. We ordered: - katsu curry: this dish was flavorful and so good that my faincee finished every grain of rice! It also came with some sides of cabbage, pickled veggies and soup which was a nice addition! - katsu + side of udon: the side of udon was an extra $4, but total worth because I was cravy something soupy, but also wanted katsu + rice. The wasbi and sauce combo works very well and balances the fattiness of the pork (not that it was fatty at all). The pork was perfectly cooked and so succulent! SERVICE: Warm servers who are very welcoming and super friendly. They greeted as we entered, checked to make sure everything was good and bid us farewell. AMBIANCE: This is a korean katsu shop, so they had kpop playing, cute decor and each table is equipped with au ordering tablet which streamlines everything. I was unsure about this Korean katsu place at first because it was not Japanese katsu. Maybe it was more fusion than anything, but either way it was so good! Katsu was prepared so well and flavors really popped! Service was incredibly attentive and quick even tho it got busy at dinner hour. Overall the place is kinda small but they have that small Korean/Japanese restaurant vibe that goes well with the whole experience. Would come again to try more in the future! read more

It's hard to find katsu around here let along good katsu. I ordered the yumee katsu which is basically a chicken katsu. I was going to get the king (pork) but after seeing some reviews I opted for the yumee. It was a good portion. Came with some soup and rice. Price was fair. Located in a nice plaza. There was a bit of a wait when we showed up and I think we waited about 20-30 mins. It's not a huge place so parties 4 or less would be best. We also tried the udon as well. It was ok. Came here on a Saturday for lunch and had to wait about 30 minutes. It is a pretty small restaurant and you can add your name to the waitlist on a tablet in the store. We got the food fairly quickly and overall it was decent but I thought the pork katsu could've been crispier and had more flavor. The spicy noodles were good though and they were very generous with the portions. Overall pretty good to try, next time I will try their curry udon. Lots of parking at least! read more
Parking can be a challenge. Small open floor plan style of a restaurant with about 10 tables. You can order to go up front or wait to be seated and order from a tablet at your table. They identify as a Japanese and Korean restaurant. I ordered the katsu curry with a side of soba that only comes cold. Cons: The rice was a tad too wet. With the price of an entree averaging $20+ why am I being given water with small plastic cups? No options to make the curry spicy - it only comes in mild. (I didn't see an option for this) Green onions in the curry made it weird, it was off putting. No option for hot soba. Pros: I liked their cold soba. read more

2nd time here. Quality of the king katsu is really good. The sauce that comes with it really hits the spot as well. This time I got the katsu with ddukbokki and it definitely satisfied my craving. Portions are big and the salad is refreshing with a citrus taste to help with the spiciness of the food. Service is really friendly and responsive as well. Def recommend! read more

Yumee Katsu has all the classic katsu and with a little Korean twist! They offer sides of pickled radish and kimchi radish which is a nice addition. I appreciate that their menu is expansive with special items and even curry katsu. The restaurant isn't super big so the table space feels a bit cramped, but nothing terribly uncomfortable. I still prefer Jungdon Katsu in Danville more but I enjoyed the food here a lot and would definitely return! 4.5/5 spot for me. This is a rare spot where I preferred the chicken katsu over the pork katsu! RECS: + Donkatsu with spicy chewy noodle ($19.99) was my absolute fave! The spicy noodles have the chewy, buckwheat texture of cold noodles and it is coated with a tteokbokki-like sauce. This paired with the thinly sliced chicken katsu was perfection + Katsu curry ($20.99) had a savory, comforting curry and nicely sliced katsu! + Order a side of cold soba (+$3.99) if ordering just an entree of katsu, it makes for a refreshing addition read more

Came here around 5:30 pm on a Tuesday with my girlfriend, wasn't too packed, there were a few tables open. You just come in and if there are tables open you can get seated. The place is pretty small, so during peak hours it would tend to be very busy. You order through a kiosk, and you can look through your options. They give waters to start. We ordered the Katsu Curry Udon, one of the best things ever, it comes with side dishes, utensils, and sesame seeds on the table as well to put more flavor on your curry or sauce. We also ordered an extra 2 shrimp because it looked delicious on the table next to us and that was also super good. I highly recommend if you want awesome katsu, curry, or all of the above! read more
