Had lunch with friend that was from out of town. Knowing it will be difficult to find parking. Met up at as soon as the business open in order to find parking but I was wrong. Upon arriving the small parking lot was already full, but I was lucky enough to able to find a parking spot. Ordered chirashi as this is my favorite which I normally order in Japanese restaurants. Lunch serving comes a bit small, choice of fish was not a lot, but it's fresh and sushi rice made well. Service was good, servers would come and check on us periodically and were very nice. The total was not expensive at all and I think it's the cheapest in tri-valley for lunch. Will come back when there is a chance. read more

Senro Sushi - 9. Chirashi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Pleasanton, California

Solid sushi that executes the classic rolls well, and very nice service.. I appreciate having a nice, peaceful outdoor patio.

Senro Sushi is located in downtown Pleasanton. There is a parking lot here, but it may be hit or miss because this is a busy area. Friendly and welcoming employees here as always. The service is usually pretty efficient and prompt, but the last couple of times, it has not been. Per usual, we ordered a variety of cooked and raw sushi rolls. Unfortunately, the last 2 visits, the rolls tasted off. The cooked rolls had a weird aftertaste to it, while the raw rolls were a bit warm like it had been sitting out and tasted a bit off. The 1st of our last 2 visits, we both felt a bit sick, but decided to give them another chance because we had so many good experiences and it may be just an off night, and on our last visit, we both ended up with pretty bad food poisoning. What a bummer, we really liked this place before the incidents. read more

Such great sushi for even better prices! My friends and I had no problem being seated and they wanted to take our order immediately which was great. We did a few rounds of sushi and everything came out timely. All very filling, so fresh, and even more delicious. The salmon with ponzu and the hamachi were our absolute favorites. Their unagi and tuna are both obviously delicious and light as well. I don't think you could go wrong with any of their options. And they do have a lot of options! read more

A Japanese eatery in a non-traditional setting. There's a sushi counter, and indoor and outdoor seating. The service was prompt. Dragon roll - 4/5 The dragon roll was good. Dragon sushi roll features unagi, avocado, and shrimp tempura. The sushi rice was prepared just right, and the ingredients were fresh. California Roll - 5/5 The California Roll was made perfectly with just the right amount of ingredients and rice. Very delicious. The 3 item Bento has a nice variety of selections to choose from. The Teriyaki beef is tender, not dry. The Teriyaki chicken was a little on the dry side, but still delicious. If you select tempura , you'll get shrimp and 6 veggies all cooked and fried to perfection. If you select sashimi, you get the chef's choice for day. The fish was delicious, and tasted fresh, not overly fishy. Overall, we enjoyed our experience for lunch at Senro Sushi. I would recommend paying Senro Sushi a visit to quench your sushi cravings. read more

Originally we were supposed to go for Mexican food in downtown Pleasanton but it was already too late in the evening and the restaurant would be closing so we went for Senro instead. This is my first time having their sushi. First time I came here, I had a bento which was delicious. This time around I wanted to try the sushi. I don't want to go into any detail of the sushi because frankly, I did not enjoy it. I ate it because I was hungry but if I'm being critical, there is a lack of flavor to the rolls. We ordered the hot night roll, spider roll and dragon roll. The dining room was spacious and they had outdoor seating as well Service: excellent. This is where the restaurant shines. The staff are friendly and attentive. They even gave me the remote to change the channel to the niner game! We won btw lol anyway, that is awesome service right there. I believe Senro is a chain so while I probably won't be going to another one, I do see they have their regulars and people coming in so that is nice. I just wish the food was better. read more

This review is based on a takeout order. With that being said, I can't rate the service or ambience but as far as the food goes I would give it a 3/5. I typically don't like to order sushi to go because it's not as fresh, but my girl and I didn't feel like going out lol. The rolls were pretty decent nothing super special about it. I wish they had a little more sauce because they were a tad bit dry, but that's also expected when you order sushi to go. So overall, maybe just go inside and see if your experience with the quality of the food is better! read more

Really wanted to like this place more and give it a stronger review, but the more we thought about it and tried to enjoy it, the harder it was to do. A nice family-run-vibes sushi restaurant in the Dublin/Pleasanton area. Parking can be challenging but there are a few nearby lots and street parking that is sufficient. The prices are OK for sushi - not terribly expensive but reasonable. Plenty of good drink and beer/sake selection. The sushi and sashimi was absolutely disappointing. We ordered the "gourmet nigiri" platter, and it was a platter of poorly assembled salmon, tuna, yellowtail, a few unagi, and some snapper. Not very creative and felt like something we could get from Safeway. The rice was falling apart when picked up, and the proportions of rice/fish were disappointing, especially for the cost of the platter. The specialty rolls are made for... a more westernized palette. Plenty of funny named rolls with lots of "spicy" this-or-that, tons of sauces, plenty of baked/deep fried rolls. This usually compensates for lower quality fish, ingredients, and/or prep. If you like these kinds of rolls, more power to you. If you like a more authentic and delicate nigiri/sashimi delivery, this will be highly disappointing, unfortunately. read more

Friendly staff, delicious food.. the quality of the food is very good. Parking is easy. I would come back once a week if I could.

Always a great experience here dining in or togo. Yan and the staff are awesome. We usually have the sashimi, amaebi, and a signature roll. read more

I've been here a few times and the last time I came was with a large group. The service was okay and the food was alright for the price I suppose. But I guess what's disappointing is the presentation. It just seems to look more lifeless than the last visit. And not as fresh as when I first started coming here. I wanted to like the place as much as some of these yelpers but for now I'm more on the iffy side to return. read more

Came back with here my second time and loved it just as much! We had the Shelby roll which if you love tuna this is a good one! And I personally love that it comes with real crab. We also ordered chicken Yaki Udon and it was my first time trying it and I loved it! This time around our waiter was extremely quick to come by and pick everything up. I felt like she was watching us like hawks so we could get out quick but we were 1 of 2 tables being served (they have about 15 tables) so I thought it was a little odd and I felt kind of rushed. But the food is great! read more

This was such great and affordable sushi place! We ordered 3 roles: Salmon (far left), The Pearl (middle roll) and Hot Night (far right). The Pearl was by far my favorite. The flavors worked so well and the fish was very fresh. I am also a huge fan of sushi ginger and this one hit the spot. It was really really great! They also had so many flavor combos making it hard to choose! I will definitely be coming back The staff was also super friendly and so speedy with our order. The place was also very lively with a great atmosphere, and we were able to just walk in and get seated for 2! read more

Went for it again and it was great! My favorite thing about this place is the prices are very reasonable and the food is good quality. I love being able to order several different items without breaking the bank. Everything was delicious and neatly packaged once again. I always have to try a place 2-3 times before i can decide if i love it or not. I have decided that i love it here!!! Disclaimer: I only eat rolls so i can't speak for the sashimi or nigiri. The Shelby Roll might be my favorite roll I've ever had. I love that they use real crab, it really makes a difference. The Chicken Teriyaki don was good as well, the portion was pretty generous. Gyoza was golden deliciousness Even the miso soup they send with the order is pretty good. 10/10 for me. read more

I stumbled on this place, and I want to go back! From my angle of needing a quick reliable meal before meeting friends in DT Pleasanton, the service was extremely accommodating. I'd like to go back as it looks cozy inside, and I wonder if it's been underrated on Yelp. I know my photos of my order will not do. I.O.U read more

**COVID REVIEW** We ordered through DoorDash and it took about 1.5 hours to arrive. We ordered crazy horse, lion king, daredevil, and agedashi tofu. We were pretty disappointed with the foods, it didn't taste fresh and was just drenched in sauce. On a better note, the agedashi tofu was good! The tofu wasn't dry and they had enough sauce for the tofu. The daredevil was good as well, there was just too much sauce, so you didn't get to taste the soft shell crab and everything else in the sushi. read more

Senro is a GREAT sushi place. My wife and I went a few times before COVID but now we order them through delivery. I recommend the TG roll and I always grab a spicy tuna roll as well. The service here is prompt and accurate and (when in person) the folks are very sweet. Best part is it's location in downtown Pleasanton right near the park and not far from the Dairy. Before or after your meal, enjoy a nice walk on Main. read more

Love their garlic edamame served slightly charred and warm. The Awesome Mango is, well, pretty awesome! Creamy, sweet, with a kick of heat from the jalapeño topper. The Senro Blast was yummy. It was a perfect bite combination of spicy salmon, tuna, eel, with just the right amount of unagi sauce together with a burst of lemon tartness to round it all up. Alongside a plate of tempura vegetables, my dining experience at Senro was indeed a positive one. They are located right across from Meadowlark with their own parking lot so even more perfect! read more

No frills, casual dining in a nice spot right next to Delucchi Park. We sat on their patio on the park side and got an added bonus ... live music from Music in the Park performers (Fridays at 7pm during the summer). Senro has the largest variety of rolls I've ever seen - traditional and many that they created. We had the TJ and Volcano? I can't remember at this point, but they were both pretty good. The garlic edamame was charred with garlic and perfect for sharing. The best part was pre-pandemic pricing! Thank you for not passing on all the additional costs to your customers! You can't beat the sushi at this price. Waitstaff was nice and attentive. We'll be back! read more

Horrible experience!!!! They brought wrong order twice to our table. Order carrot roll for my 8 year granddaughter, what we got ,was this very thick slice of of carrot ( not even shredded!!!) wrap in rice!!!!!! For $ 8.99? Spicy tuna roll not fresh at all! This is an update , just went here again, been coming here for over 15 years now, and the experience was horrible: the restaurant smelled like burned pork fat , the many dishes we ordered had been also cooked on smelly pork fat. Not good, very disappointed. Tried to point out to staff about it and they acted as if they don't understand what I am telling them. Food didn't taste good at all. I won't come back. read more

NEGATIVE STARS! I never write yelp reviews but are you kidding me?! This place was practically empty. There were at least 7 tables in this place and both waitresses were sprinting to each table. WHERE IS THE STEPS TO SERVICE?! This place was so filthy! I was served a dirty glass!!! We were sat and waited at least 15 min to get our water. The two waitresses were stressing me out so much! I could not take it. I was trying to have a good night out with my friend, I had to get out of that place! I'm in the restaurant industry and I have never seen something as bad as this! Where is the management? Do better! Completely ruined my night! Just unbelievable. I can not believe they are still in business with their staff running around like chickens with their head cut off. So disappointing they went down hill in the past 2 years. They need major management change and attitude adjustments. read more

This place seems pretty good and not busy at all for a Saturday night. Which was surprising that they got my sushi order wrong. Simple mistake, no trouble at all. The thing that was odd is that after rectifying their error , I was still charged the difference for the original item I order. Now I understand if it was my error, but I had to come all the way back to the restaurant after being home to rectify their mistake. Yet I still was charged, seems like a misses opportunity for customer service. read more

My husband has a strong aversion to creamy sauces and many sushi places don't honor notes in takeout orders for sauce on the side. Senro was a hero! Their fish was fresh and their roles a great variety. We especially liked their eel and hamachi. Lunch specials include two rolls for $11.50 or three for $15. This will be consistent in our sushi rotation. read more

This sushi restaurant has two locations- one in Pleasanton and one in San Ramon. I've been going to the Pleasanton location which is located in the downtown area. The decor is different ( brick wallpaper) and temperature wise this restaurant is colder than most so you'll want to wear a coat. Service is friendly but can be somewhat slow even if the restaurant isn't very busy. So why do I eat here ? They serve generous portions if you order sashimi - and it's very fresh. Gyoza is tasty and the sauce on the side is sweet (not vinegary). The cherry bomb is a fish covered rice ball covered with various spicy sauces and it's very tasty yet not too spicy. The waitress recommended the titanic role which has tempura shrimp inside and is covered with fish and spicy crab and unagi sauce. It's a big tasty roll that might require two bites to eat each piece. My favorite here is the Hawaiian poke which comes with macadamia nuts, seaweed salad, raw tuna, raw onion, and the right balance of spicy sauce which doesn't taste too spicy to start but has a kick later. I've not been disappointed with anything I've had here but it's mostly been sushi. As I read some of the negative reviews it's mostly about the cooked dishes. I have other favorite places in town for udon and sukiyaki so I'd never order them here. So if you're a fan of fancy rolls, sushi and sashimi you should definitely check this place out ! read more

Food was fine, not elite. The service is not a strong point. Chaos was described by many reviews, just plain unorganized for me. Waited a while to get acknowledged and seated at the front door. Ordered through door dash and was happy with the delivery service and speed! My family wanted to have sushi for dinner during SIP so we gave Senro a try. We ordered: Hamachi Kama - this was delicious. Very fresh, perfect amount of salt flavor and grilled to perfection while the fish stayed moist inside. CA Roll - this was just ok. I didn't like the fresh crab meat they used as it was a little too flaky and lacked some flavor. Tempura - this was good. Very flakey and crispy, just the way tempura should be made. Shelby Roll - spicy tuna, crab, tuna, hamachi and avocado with special sauce. This was tasty as the sauce was creamy and sweet enhancing the flavor of the roll. Happy Hour - soy paper, spicy tuna, crabmeat, shrimp tempura, cucumber and sauce. This was excellent. Red Dragon - spicy tuna with tuna on top. Not my favorite as the tuna was overwhelming to have double portion on every bite. Also, didn't like the chunks of sriracha that wasn't mixed evenly. Rainbow - ca roll topped with all sorted fish. This was just ok because I wasn't fond of the ca roll. Ecstasy - spicy ca roll, topped with tuna, salmon, hamachi and eel. This was pretty good. A different flavor in every bite. Overall I think I would order again but probably not my first choice. I think some other sushi restaurants I would also like to try. read more

Delicious sushi? In Pleasanton?? Yoooouuu BET! I found myself in downtown Pleasanton after doing some hiking and wine tasting with friends earlier on in the day. Decided to hang around after everyone had left and do a little Dora the explorin' which of course worked up my appetite. I came across Senro while driving down the Main Street and decided to give it a try. This is the perfect definition of a local town sushi house! The atmosphere is extremely home-like. Everything from the interior brick walls to the cabin-like exterior just screamed "home" to me. It felt like I was having dinner at a friend's house as opposed to dining at a restaurant. I absolutely loved the homey environment and inviting atmosphere. When I first walked in, the place was relatively empty. However, it filled up quickly with locals later on. The menu consists of your typical Japanese fare and was moderately priced. I ended up ordering their 3-item combo with chicken teriyaki, gyoza, and their California roll. A pretty basic order, but they executed this very well! The miso soup was really delightful. The broth was flavorful and had just the right amount of heat. Their salad was especially refreshing! I could tell that the iceberg lettuce was fresh by the crunch and I absolutely adored their salad dressing. The gyoza was spot on! It had that perfect boiled to deep fried ratio and still remained nice and tender internally. The chicken teriyaki was decent but lacked in flavor and could have benefited from more teriyaki sauce. The California rolls were my favorite! Great size and a good crab to rice ratio. They used real crab and fresh avocado in the center; a total weakness of mine when it comes to the basic Cali roll. It tasted like the chef had literally rolled it 2 seconds ago, but it didn't fall apart at all. Their California roll made me want to try out their other rolls! For something as simple as a Cali roll, I felt that it really stood out above the crowd. Would love to try out their other rolls when I'm in the area again. This was a great surprise and I'm glad that I have a great option for sushi in Pleasanton! read more

I ordered three lunch rolls to go. Two salmon rolls and one tuna roll. The tuna was grey and looked/smelled unappetizing. When asked about the grey tuna the staff told me that it was normal and it is just the edge cut of the fish. I have been eating raw fish for +10 years and have never been served grey tuna. I was not convinced by the staff member and requested a refund. I wouldn't post a review if the staff member had just owned up to the mistake and not try to sell it to me.
