Came here 6pm on Friday night. It was still happy hour until 6:30pm. It was pretty packed almost all of the tables were full. Got lots of stuff from the happy hour menu. The waitress also came around again for last call happy hour which was super nice! Calamari and chicken karaage were crispy and light. Negi hamachi maki, salmon maki and tekka maki were small but delicious and fresh. The yuzu shishito was surprisingly spicy at the end/bottom!! Edamame and wakame salad were fine. We also ordered some beers from happy hour but it was so packed and busy they forgot to bring one out but thankfully were able to take it off. We were full from the happy hour tapas but def want to try other things from dinner menu.

Came here for lunch on a weekday. A friend recommended the beef ribs ramen, but unfortunately it wasn't available. We ended up trying other ramen options, which felt pretty average. The sashimi, however, was a pleasant surprise. The thick cuts had a great texture. The only downside was that the 25-piece platter only included four types of fish, which limited the variety. The service was attentive, and staff regularly came by to refill our tea.

Skewers: scallop, chicken thigh, pork belly

It's refreshing to see an izakaya spot open at Stoneridge Mall. Aside from P.F. Chang's and The Cheesecake Factory, dining options here are pretty limited, so Yuyake Dan Dan is a welcome addition! The menu is fairly extensive but for our first visit we tried two orders of the 7-piece Omakase nigiri set and three skewers: scallop, pork belly, and chicken thigh. The skewers were a mixed bag. The chicken thigh was really good--juicy and flavorful--and we also enjoyed the pork belly. The scallops, however, were on the smaller side and the edges were a bit chewy, which took away from the experience. All of the skewers are glazed in a sweet soy-style marinade, which worked well overall. The 7-piece Omakase was reasonably priced at $30 per set, but unfortunately we only really enjoyed about three of the seven pieces: the salmon, bluefin tuna, and one seared piece on the right side of the plate (possibly sea bream?). The rest had flavors and textures that felt off--some were overly chewy, others slimy, and a few were just difficult to eat. I also wish the sushi rice were stickier, as it fell apart more than expected. It didn't help that the waitress didn't explain which piece was which, so we were left guessing our way through the set. Overall, I'd still come back since we're at Stoneridge Mall often and the concept has a lot of potential. Next time, though, I'd skip the omakase set and order à la carte sashimi instead, focusing more on the skewers, ramen, or other tapas-style dishes.

Stopped by for a quick lunch while shopping. They were not busy, so we were greeted and seated right away. We ordered hot tea and ordered after checking the QR code on our table. Tempura bento box- cute presentation and good portion Hamachi kama- fresh and flavorful! Hot soul roll- enjoyed the spicy tuna & serrano pepper Hamachi hamachi roll- You can never have too much fresh hamachi!! Restaurant was clean and decor was cute.

Spicy Tuna Roll happy hour

Finally had a chance to try out this restaurant during happy hour. When I walked in they weren't so busy but by the time we left the place was packed. I tried 4 items from the happy hour menu Karaage chicken Fried calamari 4/5 Spicy tuna 5/5 Godzilla roll 3.5/5 I really enjoyed the spicy tuna, it's 6pc per order. The tuna tasted fresh, and the ratio of tuna to rice is perfect. I didn't realize Godzilla roll is a fried sushi roll. I don't normally order fried sushi but I'm glad I did. They sliced the sushi thinly and it wasn't overwhelmingly oily. Fried calamari is very good. The breading is not heavy and the calamari was cooked perfectly (not chewy). I don't try the karaage, it was ordered for my dinner companion and he didn't have any complaints about it. So I don't want to rate it. Overall I really enjoyed the place. They refilled my tea very promptly and the food came quite fast. This place is quite hidden. It is in the same aisle as Quickly, across from iSee Cream.

Traditional Paitan Ramen 10/10

I was craving some Japanese food after a long day of shopping in Livermore, and this place came up as a top option. It definitely did not disappoint. I loved every dish we ordered. The ramen was especially unique - you can add bone marrow, which was such a cool and flavorful twist. The broth wasn't too oily, and the marrow added a rich, satisfying depth. It was a great combo overall. We also had the 7-piece omakase. Everything was super fresh, and the sashimi slices were larger than I expected, which made it even more satisfying. The tapas options were also really good. I especially enjoyed the wasabi - it had just the right amount of spice. We tried the takoyaki too. It was tasty, but I was expecting more than four pieces. Honestly, six pieces would feel more reasonable for the price. The only downside was that we felt a bit rushed. I understand it can get busy, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and eager to move people along quickly. That said, the food was amazing, and I would definitely come back just for the quality alone.

Traditional paitan ramen with bone marrow. And another bone marrow on the side!

My wife and I came across this hidden gem while we were shopping at Stoneridge Mall. And now it's probably my favorite ramen spot in the Bay! And I've been to A LOT. The main reason: their traditional paitan ramen! It's already a pretty substantial ramen with the shaved bonito, garlic, mushrooms, medium rare beef filet, oyster mushroom, and onsen egg. But what really caught my eye (and stomach) was the giant beef bone sitting in the bowl filled with mouthwatering marrow! And this wasn't a skinny bone where you really had to scrape to get any marrow out. No, this was a huge bone with A LOT of buttery flavorful marrow!! I've been here twice already. This latest visit we ordered the soft shell crab appetizer (delicious!) and I of course had to get the paitan ramen again, this time with an extra bone marrow. Totally worth it!!

I can't believe we just now finally ate here. Great Japanese tapas restaurant inside the mall. They had some interesting dishes that closely resembled and comparable to food we've had when we were in Japan. You'll need to look up what the dishes are though. The dishes are written in what they're called in Japanese, so if you're not familiar with the dishes-- highly recommend googling it as you look at the menu. They don't have descriptions of what the dishes are. At least none that I remembered, but I was only looking at their menu from my phone when I scanned the QR code at the table. Great dishes overall, but I don't recall what the names of the dishes I ordered.

Shrimp cake thing. Very good mostly because of the wasabi sauce.

This place has a great variety of food for those who want cooked and raw. We came here on a whim because us parents didn't want Cheesecake Factory. What we found was a pretty darn great authentic japanese place in a mall.... Seems odd. The typical Mall Japanese places are all just Teriyaki chicken bowls and california rolls. This palce had great selection of true Japanese cuisine The service was on point. Empty dishes didn't sit for more than 10 seconds, they kept asking if we needed anything, but attentively, not annoyingly. Unfortunately, it is small so it may get packed. We went on a Sunday during lunch and (thankfully) didn't have to wait. Overall, we will definitely be going back.

Godzilla Roll

Noticed this spot while roaming around the mall and saw that they had a happy hour opening and decided to try it. The restaurant is pretty open with lots of legroom to move around. The menu for the happy hour has around 15-20 options so a good amount to fill you up. It took a little while to get all of our tapas but most ended up being pretty worht the wait. Fried Calamri: 5/5 incredibly crispy and meaty with a good amount of seasoning on the outside. paired with lemon and *chef's kiss* Karage: 3.5/5 crispy and filling but we've had better or just as good at most japanese establishments Yuzu Shishito: 2/5 controversial because my partner actually enjoyed it, but I have generally not liked shishitos as much and this one wasn't any different. Flavor wise it was ok but the bonito flakes were really fishy to me and so many of the Shishitos were incredibly spicy and usually I am pretty spice tolerant. Wasn't that pleasant for me but it may just be an acquired taste. Godzilla Roll: 3.5/5 Ok crunch but the sauces weren't too great in my opinion. Have had better crunch rolls at other joints. Salmon + Tekka Maki: 3/5 decent fish rolls that cleansed our palette to the other heavier greasier options. Overall a good place to chill and grab a few bites to eat at a decent price point.

I have been here for years since I moved to this area, and this place is legit in term of quality and overall taste. Speaking of price especially for Japanese food, and if you value the quality, you get what you paid for. They have the best ramen in the Tri Valley by far that I experienced, and I'm an Asian who love noodle so i guess my bar is high enough lol. Service is always nice, quick and attentive to the customers. The place is fam friendly with a minimal Jap interior design.

Grilled beef tounge, chicken cartilage, scallop are all delicious. Harmachi carpaccio is excellent with a kick of spiciness. Great food as always.

10 piece premium Omakase Nigiri
Rachel M.

I had a treat myself kind of day and Yuyake was one of my victims after going in the office. Tucked away in a corner of Stoneridge mall across poke and ice cream spots, you could easily miss it if you don't park near it. They have a happy hour 5-6:30p and a ton of yummy choices from izakaya style items (grilled bites) to bone marrow taipan ramen to fresh premium omakase from Japan. Menu is via QR code and the server was pretty prompt and explained the omakase menu options to me. Vibes were chill and what you'd expect from a popular Japanese restaurant on a Tuesday evening. Lots of parking since it's at a mall. I decided on the premium 10 piece omakase ($65) and was not disappointed. Select chef's choice with melt in your mouth fish (standouts were salmon toro, o-toro, butterfish) shrimp, uni, and scallop with flavorful accents and well made rice. That crispy shrimp head also had a ton of flavor and crunch! Wish they had spots like this closer to me! I'll just have to make it a treat whenever I go to the office.

The Wife wanted her usual for Mother's Day dinner, but has been disappointed lately by Roppongi's tempura veggies. Kiseki's offering was well cooked, and a bigger portion to boot. The miso soup tasted like every place else, but the salad dressing was too vinegary for her to finish. The sushi prices were fairly high, so I just got one roll, the Vasco. Lovely presentation, and enough food for me (along with finishing The Wife's soup and salad). Service was fine, but I'm glad we got there early, as things picked up and got slower later. The space is quite simple, nothing fancy, but clean, and they have table service. Again, pricier than I would have liked, somif Roppongi can fix their issue, we'd prefer to go there, especially during happy hour.

It used to be you can only join where you come near the restaurant. It must be only for busy days like Mother's Day? There was a sheet offering specials for Mother's Day, cocktails, mocktails, a kurobuta pork belly and 2 desserts. We ordered our usual fare. Great service by Ariel, she handled everything as a pro, even with the crazy business. Food came out with no delay. The only change that we noticed id the teriyaki beef. The rib eye was usually so tender and juicy, everybody that we invited here were amazed how tender and great they were. The standout for me was the tempura ice cream--perfectly crisp with a thin, light shell. Service: Our server was friendly, efficient, and very accommodating. However, the host experience was frustrating. The Yelp waitlist wasn't working on a busy Friday night, which seemed to cause some disorganization. We were quoted a 25-minute wait for a party of three, but ended up waiting 45 minutes. During that time, multiple parties of three who arrived after us were seated first. When I checked in at 35 minutes, I was told we were "next," but that didn't seem to reflect what was happening. At 45 minutes, after checking again and explaining how long we'd been waiting, we were seated immediately. It was confusing and especially difficult with a hungry toddler. Parking: Parking can be tricky. The restaurant is located under an apartment complex with limited guest spots on the first floor of the garage. If it's full, you'll have to exit and find street parking (which is minimal) or park across Dublin Blvd and walk. Overall: This was close to a perfect experience. The food and server were great, but the disorganized wait and host interaction took away from it. Hopefully they improve their system for busy nights, especially if the Yelp waitlist goes down again.
