The ambiance is beautiful and clean. The restrooms are also nice and comfortable. If you want variety of dishes, please spend a little more for the premium menu. You will not regret it. The staff are very hospitable and friendly. Don't be afraid to ask questions about the menu. Lots of free parking. Do make reservations for 5 or more people so that you can get a nice location and a long table. You will need a lot of room for the food and drinks. Enjoy your experience! My boyfriend and I were so excited to try their AYCE sushi and came here on Father's Day (Sunday) around 7:45pm. We were the last 2 people seated as they close at 9pm but there were many tables open and it still took 15 minutes for us to be seated. First of all, the lady who sat us down was in a horrendous mood. I was willing to overlook it because she probably had a long day, but it took us another 10 minutes to get our order after placing it on the tablet. Then she looked annoyed because we asked for 2 half rolls instead of a full one because we didn't want to fill up and not be able to try anything else. It took another 5 minutes to get the half rolls back. Well, around 8:15pm and after our first round of sushi, a different server comes by to notify us that they're doing last call. It was annoying because we barely started eating/ordering and they're doing last call 15 min after being seated? It would have been nice if the original waitress notified us of that. So, like any other reasonable people, we ordered 16 pieces of nigiri and 1.5 more rolls. At this point we over ordered because we panicked AND they charge for extra leftovers including rice. We knew they were about it and would definitely charge so we had no other option except to man vs food it in like 15 more minutes because it was such an unpleasant experience and we just wanted to leave since everyone working seemed like they wanted to go home. First of all. The price for the meal starts at 39.99 regardless of time (lunch and dinner). 39.99 for regular AYCE and 48.99 I think for premium. What we like They have options to order half rolls for special rolls. So we can try variety of stuff. Many options for starters, lumpia, karaage, chashu bun, edamame, etc. Also have katsu and chicken curry , ramen, udon. Expansive menu. We also like that they put the bottle of water on the table so we don't have to keep asking. They do paper orders for nigiri and it's limited to 4 rounds. 2 nigiri order per person. What we don't like They have a limit of 2 special rolls per order. Regardless of half of full order. I wish they would let us do 4 half special rolls OR 2 full rolls per order. We came specifically for the special rolls so it was difficult to order all the types we want within the time frame. And they lock out ordering for 10min. So we can total order probably 5 times IF we keep an eye out for the menu to open up. But when you're eating you wont be paying attention to the screen. The rolls and nigiri are honestly just ok. There are a couple we enjoyed but for the price I think we were better off just going by ala carte restaurant. We like the Eagles, Red Dragon, Golden Knights. Spicy tuna was pretty good also. One of the better AYCE sushi options in the Bay Area! Went in on a Thursday evening and it wasn't too busy. The inside is pretty big with plenty of tables, TVs, and booths. We were seated at a long table as a party of 6 so we got two of the ordering tablets which was nice. For the nigiri's, you order on a piece of paper and we were able to order 12 per round per paper (we got two) and a total of 4 times. We tapped out at two rounds of nigiri, so definitely plenty of nigiri to go around. The fish to rice ratio was actually pretty good and the fish tasted very fresh IMO. We also ordered some rolls and the 49ers was delicious. The tekka maki was good rice to fish ratio as well but the rice was a bit on the mushy side. The shrimp ball, jalapeño bomb, and udon were also great too. Overall, the food was solid for the price. The service was good despite there being only one waitress. She was very attentive and nice. The food came out quickly and we actually got full and had about 25 minutes left so I think it's plenty of time, just be sure to put in orders as soon as the time resets as we went on a slower day. Really like the fact they offer half rolls, most AYCE places around won't do that, so bonus star for Mad. Now that's out of the way, time to discuss the fish. After dining here one afternoon, I spent the evening and most of the early morning violently ill; 100% food poisoning. I sincerely question both the quality and authenticity of the seafood they're putting out. I've even sushi including AYCE sushi hundreds if not thousands of times before and the after-effects from eating here were by far the worst I've ever had. Service was really great, however undercut by the food, and they did have a bunch of TV's with the basketball game on so that was nice. Went here for dinner and had a great all you can eat experience. They sit you down and you have 90 minutes to order as many rolls as you want. Make sure you don't over order as there is a $2 fee for every piece of sushi you do not eat! For nigiri, you have 4 rounds, each round you can order 4 orders of nigiri per person (8 total pieces). Since it was me and someone else, we were able to order 8 orders (16 pieces of nigiri) per round. The ambiance is very chill, clean and upbeat. Came here for AYCE, but it is not really true AYCE. There is a cap on nigiri orders, 12 per person, and it only applies to adults, not even to the paying kids. That kind of defeats the purpose. A lot of people go to AYCE for the flexibility and mindset of ordering freely, not necessarily to overeat, so the restriction takes away from the experience. That said, the fish was actually pretty good and tasted fresh, which I appreciated. Service was fine and the overall experience was decent, but the limitations make it hard to justify coming back for AYCE specifically. I usually go to Harumi AYCE and wanted to try out the premium items they had here. The uni and unagi sushi were very delicious. Very good quality. The bummer was you can only order those items one time, almost cancelling the what ayce means. They do have a large selection of different items that Harumi doesn't have on their menu. Ordering was through a tablet on the table. However ambiance and service lacked on the day we were eating lunch. Maybe I went on an off day. There was two wait staff during the lunch period and both were very busy and didn't seem wanting to help much. So that was disappointing. I debated dropping my rating down to 4 stars because of my most recent experience here, but the food just tastes too good. Since my last visit, I noticed a big difference in the food and service. Before, the nigiri had barely even a drop of rice. Now, there is a significantly greater amount of rice. I noticed now there is a nigiri limit of 12 orders (2 pieces per order) per person. While although this is definitely a lot of nigiri, the fact that there is a restriction (outside of the 90 minute allotted timeframe) feels like it defeats the purpose of AYCE. If you want to order past this limit, there is an additional $4.99 fee. It feels like they are trying to get people to eat less while charging the same, if not more. During this Sunday afternoon visit, we were not even able to utilize the ordering screens for nigiri. A message would pop up saying "Call the server to order." We had to summon a server any time we wanted to order nigiri instead of conveniently using the screen. The vibe in there just feels completely different now. The TVs were all playing different things. The large one in the center was showing some online gaming tournament of characters running around shooting guns. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and one of the main reasons we chose because of the nigiri. We also noticed a price update from the December 2025 menu image--the current price is now $34.99. The restaurant was very spacious and clean, parking was easy, and the service from the staff was amazing. The menu is on a tablet, very easy and convenient. The only exception is that nigiri must be ordered directly from the server, and there is a limit of 12 orders total, with 2 pieces per order per person, which is plenty. I also loved that many of the rolls could be ordered in half sizes, which made it easier to try more items. I liked that the menu had a wide variety of options, including both free and paid items, with fresh, grilled, and fried selections. Everything we tried tasted freshly made, which was a big plus. For drinks, I really liked how the corkage fee is $15, which makes this a great spot for special occasions as well. The only wish is that hot tea had been a little stronger, with more tea and less water, and a dessert menu (i.e., ice cream, coffee) too. Wanted to try an AYCE although I am not built for one since I get full easily with minimal food, but we went for our daughter who wanted a lot of sushi! Place was not too busy during early evening. Order on ipad, wait at least 10 minutes before you can order again. Some of the items are additional like the kamas. Salmon nigiri was good and some of the rolls like dragon roll. Hmm I thought I had reviewed this but here we go again. This is a great place to explore. I admire the philosophy. All you can eat sushi sounds like a trick, where you imagine a buffet with a few choices and who knows how long it's been out, but here thats not the case. You get 90 minutes, no rush, and choose from the menu the different options you want. My first time, as usual, is part of a learning process. I was not extremely hungry but wanted to test things out. I was drawn to the spider rolls, and they had several different types. All great, and I had cold soba noodles and a few other dishes. I guess I overlooked the sashimi section, and probably should have started with it, but I was pretty full by then. It was a great start to a great idea. I'm giving this place 2 stars because there's definitely room for improvement, and I think it has potential. I was excited to try a new all-you-can-eat sushi spot, and we were seated right away as a party of four, so off to a great start. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and has a good variety on the menu -- sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, rolls, and hot items like ramen, udon, and katsu curry. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn by slow service and a very restrictive ordering system. You're limited to about 10 items per round (for a table, despite your party size) and can't place another order for 10 minutes. We came in hungry, so the long waits between orders made things frustrating pretty quickly. The customer service could definitely be improved. We were given incorrect information about our ordering tablet. We noticed that the tablet was showing we started at 60 minutes instead of 90 and that it couldn't be changed, but another waitress was able to fix it easily when we asked. They also forgot to check in on a beer order, and we eventually just opted out since it was taking too long. The food itself was good -- I did appreciate the rice-to-fish ratio with lighter rice and larger fish portions. Their appetizers were good as well, with the fried mushroom being my favorite. So much seating and parking here! This is definitely worth the drive for me, as I am from South Bay. I heard about this on social media and love sushi, especially AYCE sushi. My go-to place is unfortunately in Sacramento, so when I heard of one with raving reviews in Dublin, I knew I had to go. The workers were super nice and helped my group order our sushi each round, giving us suggestions on how many we should get due to the portion size. The fish to rice ratio was better than I expected! The pieces of fish were pretty long and completely blanketed the rice, just the way I liked it. This place was great! They offered a great selection and very reasonable serving sizes! The service here was very attentive, and our food came out quickly. We came on a weekend during lunch, so it was $43/person (weekday lunches are cheaper). Although this is pricey, I'd say it's well-worth it. $43/person is only about two different rolls per person at Amakara, but here I got to try about five or six! It's also a very accommodating space, with lots of seating and natural lighting! The food was great, and their sushi tasted fresh! My only qualm was that their fried rolls were a bit too heavy. I've been here a total of 4 times. The first time, we didn't do their all you can eat, so I was determined to go back. The 2nd and 3rd time were great - fast service, no limit on nigiri, and the ratio of fish to rice was great (similar to a small ball of rice). Today, was my 2nd time back with the family and you could tell things have changed. Nigiri was limited (albeit we only made it to the 2nd round) AND they have basically doubled the rice on the nigiri. Not only that but our server not only chastised the table next to us for not finishing their nigiri and reminding them that they'll need to pay for any leftover sushi. I understand the policy but we also felt like we were reprimanded/scolded by our female server to make sure we all our sushi rice (or else!). I've been eyeing this sushi spot each time I would be in the area. Mad For Sushi is located in the Almond plaza in Dublin. It's a little strip mall right across from Paris Baguette. It's an ayce (all-you-can-eat) restaurant with a time limit of 90 minutes. You order everything on the iPad at each table. The screen has a countdown of how much time you have left. Also, you can only order up to two or three rolls at a time which is fair. What's great is that they have an extensive menu from appetizers to nigiri to ramen to special sushi roll. Their fish is fresh and I like the ratio of rice in their sushi. The taste and combination of their rolls are delicious. I forgot the names but one that stood out was the Mad Salmon. I highly recommend that roll. Customer service is amazing. They're very attentive and friendly. I wish I took more pictures but I was honestly enjoying my dining experience that I forgot! We are living close by and have been to this place for multiple times. Recently not sure why (maybe they change the owner?) but food quality is much worse than before. The rice portion has substantially increased (almost three times as before) and the price has increased by about 5 dollars. The sashimi salad has too many sauce and the chicken/beef teriyaki has too much rice underneath. Service is a bit rude. The older lady server has absolutely no smile on her face and has been defensive when we asked her questions. Not a pleasant experience unfortunately and won't come again. This review on April 2026, we been here since Dec 2025, food was great but this place change their AYCE rules every time, first time was unlimited nigiri, each order had to wait 10 mins. Then they changed to each order had to wait 15 mins. Then they changed to limited 12 order of nigiri per person and roll back the order time to 10 mins. Now they changed to basic and premium AYCE, food quality went down, Ikura and uni nigiri don't even have seaweed with it. The bill they charged 20% service fee and charged sales tax based on the dinning amount with service charge!!! That is a totally false tax charge. I talked to the waitress and she pretended don't know anything about it, after a while she came back with a new bill without service charge and becomes very rude. I like the way they first open, they just being more and more restricted, if you can't really AYCE then don't advertise as AYCE, or charge more money for AYCE. read more

I would highly recommend Mad for Sushi! I've been twice and the food and service have been excellent both times. Honestly I would order anything on the menu but the nigiri and baked mussels were stand outs for me. The nigiri is fresh and served with big servings of fish with small amount of rice which I love when it's ayce. Get on the waitlist through yelp during busy hours! We drove an hour there, then had to wait longer since we underestimated how busy it would be. Still, Saturday 7pm, Yelp estimated a 60-70 min wait but it ended up being 40 mins. Nigiris have a nice fish to rice ratio, but they are heavily sauced so they felt as filling as the rolls. But I have to say the options you get, presentation, and the quality of food you get truly offset the price. Note you do get 90 mins so be strategic on what you order - especially if the place gets busy. 5 items per person or 3 rolls to a table at a time - adjustable for more if the workers have flexibility so be nice to your waitress/waiter. Place looks pretty new, and always playing kpop so I think it attracts the younger crowd. I loved the squid tentacles because they weren't chewy - it's because they do it in small batches. I'd order this on repeat if I could. TIP: They allow you an option for half or full rolls; it's a great opportunity to try many rolls and pick which ones are your favorite. If you're going for AYCE nigiri, this is your spot. Menu has a ton of choices from appetizers to nigiri to sides and rolls. You can order half-size rolls as well. There were no sashimi option. Service was pretty good and we were seated quickly. There's a separate menu for some specials where for a $1, you can order an unagi nigiri, and for $2 a hamachi collar. Place was clean and cozy. Definitely a keeper. read more
