Have not been here in a while. Service was still very attentive. Soup came out as speedily as before. Tasty broth and I loved the sauce area. Simple, bright and comfortable seating.

Bone Broth, mild spiciness, about 1.7 lbs dry basis

I came here for lunch with the wife for our biweekly Friday lunch date. Zhangliang Malatang takes the concept of Asian "hot pot" with a DIY noodle bar. You literally pick your own ingredients from their huge ingredient bar using this gigantic salad bowl. You'll be charged $15.99 per lb of dry weight, and then they'll cook everything in the broth of your choice. Virtually every food group is represented: various fish balls, greens, root veggies, sliced beef and lamb, tofu, octopus and squid, eggs, and even exotic items like cogealed pork blood, braised intestines, and yes even frog legs. Their noodle options are also diverse - ramen (regular and purple-colored ube ones), soba, egg noodles, udon, and thin rice noodles. I enjoyed my Tom Yum soup with mild spiciness and got about 1.5-lb worth of ingredients: * 2 helping of fresh noodles - I like them thick and chewy * Slices of lamb - excellent, I would get more next time and less fish balls * Crown Daisy ("tong po") - an excellent green vegetable for hot pot * Bamboo Shoots * Lotus Roots * Various fish balls - note these are filling and some have additional ingredients like sea urchin inside. As you can see, the permutations are endless. Since its DIY, the healthiness, calories, and tastiness are all up to you. Maybe we can try using A.I. to optimize all three for you, LOL!

Picked up some food to go and it took a little longer than expected (15-16 min- I was in a hurry). You walk in, pick a bowl and tongs and select proteins, veggies, and carbs. They weigh your items and you make your broth selection. You are given 2 sauce containers (slight cost if you want more) per bowl and they pack everything for you. I appreciate that they cook the food and separate the broth from your cooked items so noodles don't get soggy. Since food is weighed, it can easily add up. My bowl was about $26 with tip. Considering that some items were frozen, I feel this is a little steep. Overall, taste was fine and service was good. Inside of restaurant was clean and water is self serve.

I happened to find this place because it was near a malatang spot I like, so I decided to stop by. I liked that they had a wide variety of noodle options. The food was delicious. The atmosphere felt calm and relaxed, and the service was average.

4.5 stars. Came here on a Friday night and waited about 5 minutes, but a lot of people came after us and had to wait, so it definitely gets busy. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking, which is super convenient. It's not a big restaurant and the tables are pretty close together, so it can feel a little cramped when it's full. Love the self-serve setup! You pick your ingredients, choose your broth and spice level, and they cook it for you. There's also a sauce bar on the side to mix your own dipping sauce. I got the bone broth (mild) and it was super flavorful and comforting.

Came to this location in Dublin and it was good. I believe mine was $15.99/pound. Note you do have to have a minimum of 1 lb which actually is a decent amount. My husband had to add an udon to get over the 1 lb. You can choose a dry pot szechuan option or a soup option. FOOD - I got the beef bone broth which was super milky/white, which surprised me. It wasn't overly salty and had decent flavor. My favorite toppings were the lamb, the rice cake, the wide yam noodles, the potato noodles and udon. I wish they had a non spicy dry pot option, because I think I wold have liked that better than the soup. We came on a Sunday around 6pm and when we were leaving around 6:40 there was a bit of a wait. Overall, if you like this type of cook for you hot pot/dry pot then you should definitely come to try this.

Lots of malatang in the area this is one of the chains Solid choice has great options and good flavor DIY sauce is in the corner and seating is quite limited here Parking is ample Service is easy and helpful. Pay at the end We got the nonspicy soup and it was very flavorful and great fishballs

I have been to Zhangliang Malatang in Berkeley and wanted to try this location since it is so highly rated on Yelp. When you walk in, they assign you a table and then you grab a bowl and tongs to pick your ingredients. After that they weigh your bowl, with a one pound minimum at $15.99. This location actually has a bigger variety of food options compared to Berkeley. I noticed items like fried egg, marinated soy egg, and a wide selection of noodles. I ordered the tom yum broth and asked for medium spicy, but it came out very mild. The flavor was still good and overall just as tasty as Berkeley. Service was friendly and efficient too. The downsides are mostly about the space itself. The restaurant is about half the size of the Berkeley one and it gets really warm inside. They did not seem to have the AC on and I was sweating while eating. I was relieved every time the door opened because the outside air was cooler. The sauce bar setup is also cramped and feels awkward. At the end they gave out watermelon, which was a nice touch, but unfortunately it was not sweet at all. I will definitely be back because the food is solid, but I really hope they turn on the AC next time.

Medium Beef Broth and Mild Beef Broth with side of rice

Great broth. Soup for the soul. Self serve hot pot. What can get better than this and the prices were pretty affordable at minimum $15.99 a bowl when weighed in at 1 lb. LOTS of options. You choose your broth (tomato, tom yum, classic beef, and bone broth) and spice level (mild, medium, spicy). Mild already did the job for me as someone who cannot handle that much spice. I cannot even imagine what that spicy tastes like LOL. But, I can definitely see how a bowl could easily weigh more than a pound... My friend and I were able to get a good amount of meat and toppings (udon noodles, tofu puff, cabbage, fish ball, Napa cabbage, mushroom), but if I had anything to comment on it would be to bring in more sliced meat roll options! There were only angus beef and lamb. Clean environment and I like the concept of you sitting down to wait for your soup after weighing it in and the mini sauce bar available. You also pay after your meal!

Been here many more times since my last review. It's my favorite malatang in comparison to all other malatangs, even in comparison to other ZL locations! I love this place because they have the white beef broth! I good if you can't handle spicy (especially for kids). I love that I control how spicy I can make my bowl by putting my own chili oil. After much reflection, I really appreciate and love that they proportion your soup and bowl size to your food selection. I now make sure to get enough food to last me at least two meals.

I came here right at 5pm on a Thursday evening, and it got busy pretty quick. I got the tomato broth,$15.99/lb. Overall, this place has a variety of options for you to choose. Something intriguing I haven't seen before was the colored noodles, but I gave udon a try. Ambiance was nice, tables were a bit close, especially when it gets crowded. One thing I didn't like much was the consistency of the soup; it was really thick which kind of made me feel full. Flavor was great, and they also have a sauce bar.

We loved all the soup this place offers! Station to grab food was neat and had many options. Service is kind and attentive! Place has plenty of seating. Love that this place has self serve sauce bar.

My first time here--and definitely not the last! I'm beyond satisfied! The restaurant is small, so we waited about 15 minutes to get seated. After choosing our ingredients and weighing our bowl (2.46 lbs), it took another 10 minutes for the food to be served. Totally worth the wait! My husband and I shared the bowl with the mild Beef Broth. It was perfectly seasoned--we didn't even need any extra sauce or condiments! After a long day at work, we came in starving, but the portion was so generous we couldn't even finish it. Huge bowl, amazing flavor, great value, and good service all around!

We arrived at 7:40 PM, and the manager, Joseph, told us the restaurant would close in 10 minutes. I said that's OK. We'll order the food and eat as much as we can there until we have to leave, and then we will leave by the time we are asked to leave. My boyfriend, Jeff, thought the restaurant was open until 8 PM, so he checked the website. It said the location was open till 8 PM, so he walked outside to check the time on the door, and it read 8 PM. There were no other signs that said they were closing at 7:50 PM. Jeff called somebody to complain about the time discrepancy while we were waiting for our order to arrive. When our order arrived, Kira brought our food to the table in a really cute to-go bag, and I like that she listened to us that we would eat as much food as we could while we were at the restaurant and then take the rest to eat at home when it came closer to 8 PM. Our food was ready pretty quickly; we had plenty of time to finish our food before 8 PM. However, I think Jeff just wanted the manager to be upfront with him and say that the store was closing at 8 PM, so it's better to take your food to go or something like that, not make up an arbitrary time to say what time the restaurant was closed. I'm rating this Koja kitchen location four stars mainly because of the outstanding customer service provided by Kira. She was incredibly friendly and approachable, making the experience very pleasant. I wish more customer service representatives could be as kind and easy to talk to as she is.

The rice with egg really complimented the chicken as well. Good flavors and not overwhelming. Highly recommend Pad kee mao: good traditional flavors. It comes mild, so didn't have much of a kick. I don't eat too spicy so that was fine for me. If you prefer more spicy I recommend asking to increase the spicy level. The chicken omurice was also a win! flavorful, comforting, and exactly what you'd hope for. It was, unfortunately, a complete miss. It lacked flavor in a way that was almost impressive. Like... aggressively bland. The spinach and tomato completely overpowered the duck, and even tasting the duck on its own didn't help. It was giving absolutely nothing. Nothing. I'd honestly suggest pulling it from the menu until improvements can be made. Overall, I'd return for everything except the duck Benedict. Hard pass on that one.
