It has been many years since I have been back here. Came here recently with my boyfriend and his relatives. It was a Sunday evening and they were not packed. We ordered 9 dishes. Food came out fast. Presentations of each dish were plated nicely. The quality and taste were good. Service was excellent. They were super attentive. I think they are known more for their dim sum. Maybe I will come back here to try their dim again one day.

This was a pre-set menu for Lunar New Year meant for larger parties. There were 10 courses total priced at $988 for everything. The courses ranged from some more common dishes such as the roasted Peking duck to more delicacy items such as the lobster over egg white which was topped with Bird Nest (a luxury item made from the saliva of Swiftlets). While it did take a bit for the service to begin, once it did it was like clockwork coming out regularly. Some dishes were quite good while others met expectations but that was about it. The price is certainly set for the sheer amount of food presented as opposed to the experience or caliber. Other than dishes being delivered, service was inconsistent and at times hard to get a hold of, we had to as for water and never got a refill on that (however the tea was refilled many times through out the dinner) Their desserts were definitely the stand out as they were quite delicious, I'd definitely recommend the golden egg custard bun.

We were craving dim sum on a Sunday morning and decided to come here. On the way, I checked the app "Dinfo" to make a reservation or join the waitlist. Luckily, it's not that busy around 11:30 a.m. We were a party of 2, and when we arrived, the staff advised us to go to Suite 219 to check in. Once we reached the door, we were seated quickly. We ordered serveral dishes, including BBQ pork rice rolls, crispy fried tofu skin wraps with shrimp, deep-fried sesame balls, and the Rainbow Sampler Shanghai Dumplings (turmeric skin with crab roe, squid ink skin with black truffle, spinach skin with kale, paprika skin with chicken, beet skin with minced beef, and juicy pork). We also had shrimp dumplings, steamed pork ribs, and chicken feet duo, shu mai, and pork ribs in black bean sauce, along with Anxi Tieguanyin tea. Everything tasted great. I enjoyed every dish, and the environment and ambiance were calm and quiet, which I really liked!

UGH. So disappointed in my experience here. I been here numerous times before and I used to love it but it really fell off. The quality was so bad and the service was even worse. I pointed out an item that was wrong and the server literally told me to "eat it anyways" when I brought it up. I was so confused to the point where I didn't even know what to say. The soup XLBs were cold. The fried tofu was soggy and the fish was not crunchy at all. Extremely disappointed in my meal.

What do we like to do after a teeth cleaning in Walnut Creek? Go out for dim sum. We came in for a party of 3 only to be told to go all the way around for our table. My parents and I got the following: * X. O. Prime Rib Chow Fun - this was really good * Deep Fried Fried Capelin Salt & Pepper * Shanghai dumpling * pan grilled juicy pork dumpling * scallop sticky rice wrap * steamed beef ball * minced beef rice roll * stuffed eggplant - this was tasty!

The dim sum at Koi Palace is simply outstanding. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, and delicious. Prices are slightly higher compared to other dim sum restaurants but worth the cost and worth the long wait time if you happen to come at a busy time. We've visited on weekdays and weekends. Food is outstanding no matter the day. They are organized and get you seated efficiently. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. I've only had good service and great overall experiences. Since they're located in a strip mall, there are plenty of parking spaces despite the numerous stores and other restaurants. I look forward to any random reason to dine at Koi Palace because it's so fun.

Almost two decades since my last review, dim sum continues to impress at Koi Palace. KP still holds its own in a competitive shootout with Mayflower and new comer Pearl Bay Manor. The food is still great, and the advantage is the service. The seasoned staff at Koi Palace are quick to bus dishes and provided 4 plate changes, refilled hot water in tea kettles twice in a single lunch. This is the advantage of being the vetran pros of the dim sum game. The dining room of KP has a classy cozy vibe and for over 20 years Koi Palace has anchored the Ulferts Center with great food. Cantonese food lovers rejoice, we have an embarrassment of riches in Dublin.

In my family, if you don't eat fast then you don't eat at all. So I had to take pics of our dim sum fast! Our favorite place was Willow Tree in Dublin, which closed years ago when the owners retired. Koi Palace then became our go-to. We even recognize some of the wait staff from Willow Tree there. Overall the dim sum is really good! Standouts were the har gow where the shrimp was very plump and the fried taro that had a lot of umami flavor. It's a large space that's split in two sections. It can get noisy, which is expected. There's two spaces, and it seems the back space has tables for larger groups. This place can get very popular during peak hours. We were there around an hour and a half before closing and were seated right away. But we've waited at least 40mins in the past. One thing I'd like to note is their service charge. I know that's a controversial topic. I'm of the opinion that restaurants should have service charge, like many countries do already, in order for employees to have living wage. I don't think it's right that someone should have to rely on tips in order to survive. But here they have an 18% service charge that doesn't include the tip. There are signs about it up front, but we didn't read them since we were seated right away. So just a heads up when you get your check.

Honestly the service was so bad. We came in on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty empty. I feel like this place used to be good but the service in itself was awful. Out server was rude and when we ordered something by accident he said to just eat it. The food was also mid and the fried food was no chrispy and bland.

Service impeccable. Especially loved the birthday buns. The vermicelli was really good, sauce was tasty and plentiful. Always nice decor, still very clean and bright and neatly organized after so many years of opening.

We ordered the beef chow fun and it was one of the best I've had. It is a little pricey but worth the price. The noodles were softer and lighter than I've had at other restaurants. The beef was very tender and there was a lot of bean sprouts which I liked. We also ordered the Deep fried salt and pepper capelin. My husband liked it but I didn't but that's personal preference. It was well prepared.

I think the quality has dropped. We came on a Sunday and we seated quickly at the other side of the restaurant which is an extension. We ordered our fav crispy prawn in deep fried tofu skin but it came out soggy and oily... disappointed. Forgot to take picture on this one. The OX fried rice roll also another disappointment, cold and bland. The rest of our orders were ok. Don't think we will be back... still prefer Mayflowers.

As always, Koi Palace never disappoints. Everything here is delicious, especially my favorite - the supreme soy sauce noodles! Taste is authentically Chinese, service is great, and the interior is just really nice. So many good options to choose from. Another great dish is the salt and pepper tofu - it's this super soft tofu coated in this golden shell with amazing flavor. I love their guk bo tea (chrysanthemum and bo-erh), which I have no matter what dim sum place I go to. Always happy to come here!

They had to take us out of the restaurant and reenter from the side of the building to go upstairs. The second floor looked just as nice, clean, and spacious. I might even prefer it because it's quieter, more peaceful, and just more comfortable overall. As for the food, most of what we tried was delicious. We ordered some staple dim sum items like pork siu mai and har gow, and both were really good. I also tried the shrimp and scallop dumplings, which are similar to har gow, and those were pretty tasty too. We also got the fried rice with salted fish, and it was made in a "yang chow" style, so it was rather pale in color, but don't let that fool you, because it was really flavorful. We also ordered their fried calamari, which was meh at best and was nothing special. That was probably my least favorite dish. We also got lo mai gai and deep fried taro dumplings filled with pork. Overall, the food was really yummy. The service was great too. The staff were attentive and quick to bring extra chili sauce and other condiments when we requested them. I'd definitely come back again.

I ordered 3 items from DoorDash today. Mango pudding, crab dumplings, and mapo tofu. The mango pudding was entirely missing from the order. The crab dumplings had zero traces of crab. They were filled with carrots, shrimp, mushroom. I searched carefully to see if there was even one sliver of crab meat, and I'm confident there was none. (The description was "Steamed dumplings filled with fresh crab meat") The worst thing about the "crab" dumplings sans crab was that they tasted terrible. Usually, regardless of dumpling type, I love them all. I am far from a picky eater. So making dumplings taste terrible is a rare feat. I powered through one of them but threw away the rest. The Mapo Tofu was unlike any Mapo Tofu I've ever tasted. It was a container of tofu pieces suspended in a thick sugary syrup. I couldn't eat them, they tasted so weird. I threw it all away. It's too bad because I was quite hungry and especially excited for the mapo tofu. I will not be ordering from here again.

Don't know if my non-Chinese friends understand this, BUT YOU CAN ask for various, different kinds of teas and their combination. Yes, multiple pots too. The dim sum is obviously the center piece but the tea "yum chai" is equally the star in my opinion to complement the foods. However, if you want a bold tea try "Bo lay" black tea for lightly sipping when eating lots and lots of heavy food. Pro-tip: For tea adventurers, try a fusion teapot (e.g. Chrysanthemum + Bo lay), combo tea flavors is different and neat when i crave for a different drink. I'll be back for sure. Hope you do too!
