4+ If you're looking for a solid meal in the area, Yummy Hainan Chicken is a fantastic choice. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and hits that perfect balance of being light yet filling. Everything is prepared with care, the service is efficient, and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. It's the kind of reliable local spot that's perfect for a quick lunch or a casual dinner when you want something high-quality and satisfying. Definitely worth a visit!

We were looking for a place for dinner and Yummy Hainan Chicken came up. The parking was good as it's in a good-sized strip mall. A small cafe with simple decor. They have a pretty painting, and pictures of their dishes. No distracting house music. Only one unisex restroom. Signature Hainan Chicken (whole 5/5) - The restaurant serves half a chicken on separate plates. The fully cooked chicken was tender, juicy, and plump. The ginger scallion sauce was good. The roasted peanuts was a good texture and flavor change. Chicken Flavor Rice (3.5/5) - Decent flavor with a hint of pandan. Braised Pork Knuckle (3.5/5) - Tender, juicy. It was good, though, I wish it had a stronger flavor. My wife enjoyed it. Overall, a pretty good place for Hainan Chicken and other things. We will be back! Support your local business.

Randomly came here with my aunt after checking out the new H Mart nearby and I loved it! We were sat immediately after coming in and ordered shortly after. My aunt ordered their Hainan chicken rice plate, my husband got the duck rice plate and I got the duck noodle soup. The chicken and duck were absolutely delicious. I love that the meal didn't feel too heavy, but it was filling and not too expensive either. The soup felt hearty and comforting, but flavorful. Service was fast too. It didn't take more than five minutes for the food to come out. I also love that it wasn't a big restaurant but a small cafe. The cozy vibes were there for sure!

Ordered the Hainan chicken rice plate to go. I am in love! So flavorful and lite. You feel good eating your food. The rice had the great chicken flavor to it and the soup - PERFECT. Definitely will go back. The service was also super fast. I went in, ordered, took 5 min to stop at 99 Ranch next door and came back to food ready to roll. I will probably sit in and eat next time so the dog doesn't eat my leftovers. Great chill atmosphere in the restaurant. Go get your Hainan Chicken. You will be happy you did.

K7. Don't get this. Doesn't taste good and small portion
Karrie L.

Sorry to change the stars on this restaurant as it has been one of my favorite for take out Hainan chicken. This is reviewing for my dine in experience and the take out I got today. - I got the K7 braised beef brisket noodle soup The portion of the beef brisket was so little to my amusement. DON'T recommend getting this due to the portion size. Taste was just ok. Carrots were a bit hard. And take out - curry beef brisket (size of the curry has shrink to half the size) I guess I will stick to Hainan chicken rice for dine in and take out but don't try anything else. The only other side I would recommend is the tofu. However the quality control is just alright. The chef put the ugliest small piece on the center bottom so we wouldn't see that it's smaller than the rest of the pieces. Pretty disappointed overall at today dine in and take out experience.

With "Yummy" in their name, expectations are high but they totally live up to it and their Hainan chicken is delicious! Yummy Hainan Chicken operates a humble storefront that's typically full during peak lunch hours but with their capacity of about 10-15 small parties, it's a high churn place so with a wait time of 15-30 minutes, a spot will eventually open up. They have a handwritten waitlist that they'll go through as you and your party wait outside (there's a super small waiting area for about 3 people); they'll come out to call your name. Don't fret though, as you wait, peruse the menu and plan out your feast. Once you get seated, the staff will had out menus and waters/teas to start. Their offerings are quite inclusive of a variety of signature Chinese specialties. We tried to get a few things to give them a good shake and were quite impressed with the value and quality. Hainan Chicken (served by the half so if you get a whole one, you'll get two dishes) - the namesake of this establishment gets the full score as its taste and presentation are as authentic as you'd expect. Served with the ginger sauce and salted roasted peanuts, these meaty pieces of poached chicken are succulent and flavorful with each bite yet. The pieces were not fatty at all and were quite tender. You can order it to go with rice but since we did family style, we just got the whole chicken to share (with leftovers of course). Marinated Platter - this protein dense dish is piled with marinated fried tofu, honeycomb tripe, duck, and boiled eggs. This is perfect to share as a starter that will get your tastebuds popping with umami. Laksa Noodles - as newbies to this, we ordered the special "K1" signature laksa noodle soup and were pleasantly surprised that the noodles were not your wheat variety but made of the same protein and texture of fish cakes. Very flavorful broth packed with meatballs, shrimp, tofu, quail eggs, and veggies. Definitely a good one for cold days! We did end up sharing but one slurp and you may want this one all to yourself! Cucumber Salad - not much to be said on this dish. It was rather uninspired as it lacked tofu skin and wood ear. It definitely had a good share of smashed cucumbers and was tasty but the variety was extremely subpar. Fried Salt and Pepper Porkchop - these tender and crispy chops were delicious and considered a chef special, making it a bit more affordable compared to other dishes. Great value and tasted great even after reheating with an oven. The staff were friendly and spoke English, Cantonese and Mandarin giving language learners an opportunity to practice. They were quick to greet us and bring the food out. The prices were reasonable given the amount and quality. If eating as a party, family style, each person should get a good taste without spending too much and still have some to take home for a second meal. Overall, Yummy Hainan Chicken does a great job with their signature dish but also does fairly well with other specialties and staples. Its location is convenient given the shared parking lot with many other small businesses and grocery stores and proximity to the highway. Lunch or dinner, this place has you covered for dine in or takeout. Since many of their dishes are prepared beforehand, the service is typically quick so for hangry folks, you'll find your zen in no time. Ain't no better time than a yummy time!

Hainan chicken with rice, peanuts, cucumber, quail egg, and mushrooms

Was in the area visiting a friend and looking for something interesting to eat. I saw pictures of this Hainan chicken with yellow skin I haven't seen before and decided to come. It's located in the 99 Ranch plaza on the left side of the supermarket. There is plenty of parking. Restaurant itself is on the smaller side and it was getting full at lunch even though it was a weekday so I know it's a popular spot. Service is like a normal Chinese restaurant where it could be perceived as rude but it's just their style. They took my order immediately and when I tried standing so there would be more open tables they insisted I stay seated. Hainan Chicken Rice: Non-traditional and unique. Comes with cucumbers, mushroom, 2 quail eggs and peanuts. I would call this more Malay style and it's mainly because the rice tasted like coconut. The chicken was good but I honestly prefer more classic style.

Eliza R.

I ordered takeout here the other night, and it was good but not great. The chicken was completely cold rather than room-temperature or slightly cooler. It also had a bit more bone than I thought I would be getting. The rice was great, and the cucumbers as well, but the quail eggs were also quite cold, like they were sitting out. The garlic and scallions were yummy, but not as flavorful as I had wished. All in all I'd be willing to try this place out again, but maybe I'll dine in next time!

The Hainanese chicken place near me closed and so my family and I came here to try it out. It wasn't very crowded and the service was good. But the Hainanese chicken, though the flavor was good, had too many little bones in it and was a pain to eat and a pain to feed it to my kids. The other dishes were good, but since they're known for their Hainanese chicken, I was disappointed.

Deep fried peanuts appetizer... Cold, unsalted, "deep fried" peanuts
Bill L.

Quick service, delicious food, no frills dining. There was a TV playing quietly with an Asian drama, between that and the family with two toddlers, we were entertained. We had half Hainan chicken with the chicken flavor rice, the romaine lettuce with garlic sauce, the deep fried peanuts appetizer, the mala shredded chicken appetizer, Everything was except the lettuce dish which had been stir fried. I would have the peanuts were cold, unsalted, and I'm not even sure if they were fried. I've had hainan chicken at a few different establishments now and they all have come with peanuts. These weren't salted and didn't seem fried. We ended up taking our peanuts home and will most likely toast them in a pan and salt them. I really enjoyed the lettuce, so simple but the crunchy garlic bits really worked for me. The hainan chicken was yummy and had just the right amount of seasoning. The mala shredded chicken was also served cold, I wasn't expecting this but it was fine, the taste was good and they told us it was spicy when they dropped it off at our table. It had a mild spiciness in my opinion and not as spicy as I was expecting based on their warning. Overall service was great, and would definitely go back if I was in the mood for Hainan chicken and didn't want to drive down the freeway to get better peanuts elsewhere in Dublin

K12. Braised Beef Brisket and Beef Tendon over Rice Plate

After picking up Princess from the kennel, we were looking for lunch. My wife said she either wanted noodles or a sandwich. I wonder how she would have liked a noodle sandwich. Am I being mean? No, I've often wondered whether or not it would be unreasonable to wrap spaghetti in a flour tortilla. Spaghetti Burrito, if you will. Makes spaghetti hand holdable. Otherwise it would be next to impossible to eat spaghetti while driving. But I digress... We looked at the menu for Yummy Hainan Chicken and they had dishes that we enjoy. So, we stopped by and placed an order and paid for it. When the order was ready, we got back into the van and drove to a nearby park. I got water for the dog, and we sat at a picnic table in the shade. My wife pulled the dishes out of the bag and immediately, I saw that we had a problem. There was a small box of rice. We didn't order any rice. There was a rice plate. No, we did not order a rice plate. There were two small containers of broth which we also had not ordered. I looked at the receipt that was attached to the outside of the bag and it was Order #13, worth about $35. I asked my wife for our receipt, and it was Order #14, worth about $51. Arrrggghhh! We packed the food back up without opening any of the dishes. We put the dog back into the van and drove back to the restaurant. As soon as my wife walked in the door, the server rushed up to her and apologized for giving her the wrong order. Then she told my wife to keep the incorrect order to enjoy and meanwhile, the kitchen would refire our original order. That was above and beyond. Service the old-fashioned way. We goofed, we're sorry. Let us make it up to you. We ended up with $86 worth of food for only $51. Yes, they made a mistake. Yes, it was an inconvenience because we had to return and then wait. But the fact that they recognized and admitted to the mistake as soon as my wife walked in the door is impressive. The fact that they told us to keep the incorrect order tells us that they understand that once food goes out the door, if it's returned, they must throw it out for food safety reasons. However, by simply telling us to keep it built up tremendous goodwill that can't be bought. Before we even got back to the park, we had already decided that the yelp rating would be a 5* just for the customer service. Then, we ate the food. We tried a little bit of everything that we got and it was all DELICIOUS! We enjoyed everything that we got and would happily order it again. Of course, we'd also have to try other flavors too. We got: Curry Beef Brisket & Beef Tendon - 5 - Not too much eat. Nice tender brisket and tendon. This dish was great over rice. Hainan Chicken Noodle Soup - 5 - This dish is probably better in house than to go. Like all the better restaurants, everything came in three separate containers. Soup in a large bowl. Noodles in a smaller plastic container. Hainan Chicken with Green Onion/Ginger Sauce and Peanuts on the side. The problem was with the noodles. Once cooked, they're dropped into the container where they clump together. It took a bit of work to unclump them in the soup. One solution would be to leave some water in with the noodles but then they would absorb that water and that changes the texture. The real solution would be to eat them in restaurant to enjoy the dish as it should be enjoyed. Broth - 5 - A mild flavored broth served with two of the dishes ordered. Seafood Laksa Ramen - 5 - Super flavorful soup with Prawns, Mussels, Cuttlefish Balls, Calamari and Fried Tofu. Another yelper wrote that the noodles are made from fish paste. We couldn't really tell. They were very soft and didn't have much of a bite or flavor, however, as a complete dish, it all came together well. This dish was served in two containers, soup and noodles. These noodles did not clump together. Knife Cut Noodles with Minced Meat - 5 - While this was not a dish that we would have ordered on our own, it is a dish that we will order again. For whatever reason, we have a fascination with handmade noodle because of the flavors and textures. There was just a hint of heat that we think may have come from spicy fermented tofu, but please don't quote us on that. Braised Beef Brisket and Beef Tendon over Rice Plate - Order this to eat in house but not to go. It's served in a plastic three-compartment plate with a lid. Because the rice and the Brisket/Tendon are served hot, the Smashed Cucumber, Wood Ear and Bean Curd Salad gets "cooked". It would tastes much better cold or at room temperature. The restaurant is small and clean. The people friendly and service, relatively quick. Parking is okay if you don't mind walking across a parking lot. It is shared with other businesses such as 99 Ranch and Baskin Robbins. We will definitely be back!

K39. Choy Sum in Supreme Broth

This review is for Yummy Hainan Chicken delivery through GrubHub ($1 extra per dish). The food arrived quickly and piping hot. But was it as yummy as the name implied? Yes! The Signature Hainan Chicken Over Rice ($15.50) was truly yummy! This dish was the best of the three that we ordered. It didn't seem to give you a whole lot to eat, but the chicken was very "slick" and oily. The flavor was excellent, and the ginger scallion sauce tasted perfect. Be careful! It does have little pieces of bone fragments from the way the chicken was cut. It comes with a little bit of yellow rice, which was very lightly seasoned. The appetizer on the side contained cucumbers, tofu, skin, and little bits of wood ear fungus. It was lightly salted. The soup was pretty good too, but had a little bit of seasoning that I couldn't identify, and pieces of seaweed in it. The Braised Beef Brisket and Beef Tendon Over Rice ($15.95) was OK, flavor was good, but the tendon seemed a little bit chewy. This dish came with regular rice and the appetizer. DH really loved the Chiu Chow Marinated Duck Over Rice ($15.50), but that's his thing. I thought it was OK, the duck didn't have much flavor, but the sweet garlic sauce really helped to add more. Portion size did not seem very large on this one either. We tried a vegetable soup, which was really good. It was listed as a vegetable in broth, Choy Sum In Supreme Broth ($10.95), so it wasn't exactly what we were expecting. I think it was a chicken broth thickened with cornstarch. It had fish balls in it. Overall, a great experience with delivery from Yummy Hainan Chicken. I think it would be better once we figure out what to order. Also might try to pick it up, since certain items like whole chicken were not available through GrubHub.

If you're craving comfort food that feels both simple and special, Yummy Hainan Chicken really delivers! The chicken is tender and juicy, with that perfect silky texture you want in a good Hainanese chicken. The rice is fragrant, flavorful, and stands on its own--you can tell it's been cooked in broth, not just plain white rice. The sauces are the real highlight: the ginger-scallion is fresh and zesty, the chili has just the right kick, and the soy brings it all together. I love that you can mix and match each bite. Portions are generous and come at a great value, so you definitely won't leave hungry. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient--whether dining in or grabbing to-go, they keep things moving. The space itself is clean and casual, nothing fancy, but exactly what you want when the food is the star. Overall, this spot is a gem in Dublin. If you're a fan of Hainan chicken (or if you've never tried it before), this is the place to go.

The dim sum lunch was authentic HK Cantonese teahouse style and it was a terrific place to meet old friends for loud laughs and conversations. The staff was on point periodically swinging by to subtly assisting us with needs and emptied plates. I understand that this particular restaurant has been open for several years now but I did not realize their chain of restaurants have been for almost 20 years! That's quite a feat in my view. Because of my excitement with catching up with my friends, I did not take much pictures of the food or setting but to affirm, the food was delicious and the tea was smooth, fresh; the eatery was nicely decorated and spacious too. Don't know if my non-Chinese friends understand this, BUT YOU CAN ask for various, different kinds of teas and their combination. Yes, multiple pots too. The dim sum is obviously the center piece but the tea "yum chai" is equally the star in my opinion to complement the foods. I recommend a lighter tea for lite drinkers like Chrysanthemum tea ie flower steeped, no caffeine and floral. However, if you want a bold tea try "Bo lay" black tea for lightly sipping when eating lots and lots of heavy food. Pro-tip: For tea adventurers, try a fusion teapot (e.g. Chrysanthemum + Bo lay), combo tea flavors is different and neat when i crave for a different drink. I'll be back for sure. Hope you do too!

The texture is just right, there are plenty of fish pieces, and the flavor is classic, right down to the ginger slivers. Shrimp rice noodle roll $9.50 - DH's favorite dim sum item. Curry Leaves Bistro: 2025 December (5 of 5)…read more The holidays mean attending parties or hosting one. I was recently invited to a neighbourhood holiday party where each neighbour brings a dish - like a potluck. I decided to bring Curry Puffs. The curry puffs were a hit - they were gone in seconds, a testimonial to the deliciousness of these treats made by Curry Leaves Bistro. The host even placed the curry puffs the star and centre of the photo he sent to the neighbours. Source: Malaysian curry puffs are widely available at street food stalls, bakeries, and markets and are enjoyed as a breakfast item, an afternoon tea snack, or a late-night treat. Locally known as karipap, it is a popular, savory, half-moon-shaped pastry snack with a flaky, crispy crust and a thick, spiced filling. They are deep-fried until golden brown, resulting in a crispy exterior. When eaten hot, the curry puff provides a satisfying contrast between the golden, flaky, and crispy exterior and the soft, warm, savory, and mildly spicy interior.

Every time we went there, we met old and new friends, it was like the perfect gathering place. So for one last time, we had our favorites char koay teow, roti canai, curry laksa, and generous helping of their final day buffet with my favorite vegetable dish of cabbage, an excellent fish curry, sambal petai and other special dishes from the buffet. It was bittersweet -- the wonderful homey lunch experience, but knowing it would be the last at this location. So now we wait for the reopening at another spot, hopefully nearby. And live on with the memories of amazing dining experiences here. A big and hearty thank you to Chef Jai, Vicky, and their entire staff especially Rasul. We'll see you again in a few months!

Wouldn't mind coming back. The good stuff: - Pea sprouts and cordyceps in broth- I'd get this again although it was kinda pricy for a vegetable dish. I expected it to be a much larger serving. - Pan fried turnip cake- Is it me or have I never had a bad fried turnip cake? - Siu Mai- it didn't stand out for me but I'd still get it again. - Steam chicken feet with black bean sauce- I usually don't care for chicken feet but this was pretty good. My favorites: - Crab meat dumpling - Stuffed shrimp in donut w/rice noodle roll - Deep fried taro dumpling - Sticky rice & chicken in lotus leaf Pass: - Shanghai dumpling- there was no soup in the soup dumpling and the dough was a little thick. - Green onion pancake- this was disappointing, dense, dry and not crispy.

Really terrible Chinese food and poor quality control. I mean I've had bad Chinese food before but…read morerarely do I feel inclined to write a review venting about the items. I ordered 3 items from DoorDash today. Mango pudding, crab dumplings, and mapo tofu. The mango pudding was entirely missing from the order. The crab dumplings had zero traces of crab. They were filled with carrots, shrimp, mushroom. I searched carefully to see if there was even one sliver of crab meat, and I'm confident there was none. (The description was "Steamed dumplings filled with fresh crab meat") The worst thing about the "crab" dumplings sans crab was that they tasted terrible. Usually, regardless of dumpling type, I love them all. I am far from a picky eater. So making dumplings taste terrible is a rare feat. I powered through one of them but threw away the rest. The Mapo Tofu was unlike any Mapo Tofu I've ever tasted. It was a container of tofu pieces suspended in a thick sugary syrup. I couldn't eat them, they tasted so weird. I threw it all away. It's too bad because I was quite hungry and especially excited for the mapo tofu. I will not be ordering from here again.

The frustration in driving in a circle. The ambiance of the restaurant is basically a Hong Kong Cafe style. There are two areas catering small parties to big parties. The lighting is terrible though, the florescent lighting is just not for me. The food here is pretty good. They have a huge selection. Hayward doesn't have a lot of Asian catering restaurants that are cheap eats. Yeah, they opened a new banquet, but not a lot of fast, cheap foods. 1. Pork Congee with Thousand Year Old Egg - Typically very flavorful. I like to come grab a bowl when I'm not feeling well to cook. 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp - How can you go wrong? Such a western staple. 3. Pork Chow Fun - Large portion, reasonably priced, tasty enough. 4. Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet - Surprisingly one of my favorite things on the menu. Sharable portions, enough for maybe 2-4 people. 5. Salt & Pepper Prawns - Typically I would say standard, but I don't believe I enjoyed the prawns as much. 6. Mongolian Beef - Standard, soft, best with rice. 7. Salt & Pepper Pork Chops - I could live without this. 8. Combo Pan Fried Noodles - I love me a crispy noodle with gravy I can pour over because it leaves a good texture. 9. Chicken Fried Rice - Standard, sharable 10. Beef Brisket Noodle Soup - Tasty, boyfriend's favorite. Hate that adding wonton is literally $1 per piece and it's so tiny. 11. HK Milk Tea - Reasonable, but not very flavorful.. 12. Lemon Tea - Decent, probably our go to drink 13. Assam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam - Not worth it. The service is pretty standard, limited due to language barrier at times.

I'm a regular here, and I've frequented other Hong Kong style cafes all over East and South Bay…read more This is still my personal favorite. On this visit, I ordered the Black Pepper Beef Pen (Pan) Fried Spaghetti, Baked Minced Meat Spaghetti, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, Egg Puff, and a whole Hainan chicken for takeout. The Black Pepper Beef Pan Fried Spaghetti is one of my staple orders. They are very consistent with the noodle texture and flavor, and it usually comes out very quickly. The Baked Minced Meat Spaghetti is my go to HK comfort food, and the version here is my favorite. It is on the "drier" side compared to other spots, with more focus on the ground beef and onions instead of sauce. As a carnivore, I also appreciate that there are no vegetables mixed in. The cheese layer on top is always solid. The Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings are very good about 90 percent of the time. Crispy on the outside and juicy and tender inside. The other 10% of the time, they do overcook a bit every now and then, but I'll give them a pass. The Egg Puff is not always perfect in terms of texture or appearance, but the flavor is consistent and I like to end my meal with it as a nice dessert. Service is attentive when they are not too busy. On this visit, they kept my water topped up and brought extra napkins without me asking after noticing I had used mine up. Overall, Baby Cafe continues to be my go to for Hong Kong comfort food. Not perfect every time, but consistent enough that I keep coming back.
