Needed some well-deserved nourishment after a day of shopping at the outlets across the street. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. We ordered the following items: Soup pan fried pork buns: these were good. Hot soup inside and a very crispy bottom. Dan dan noodles: very tasty, but quite salty Clear Beef Noodle Soup (hand cut noodle): broth was tasty, beef was tender and quite fatty bit overall really good Spicy Beef Mixed Noodles: Tasty, but I think it would taste better with rice. Kung Pai Chicken with rice: my least favorite dish. It was deep fried and tasted like sweet and sour chicken. I was pleasantly surprised by the soup pan-fried pork buns. I normally don't like them, but these were delicious. I would come back again just for these buns!
I was touring the outlets with a couple of friends but decided to look for food before we head on in. I haven't tried this place before but saw they have a few around the Bay Area. We entered and it was quite nice and simple decor, food was really good. I like how their water comes in a carafe, but paper cups! Check out the photos to see our choices. One dish was eggplant and green beans, preserved pork belly with dried radishes and the last was pig intestines that became our favorite. It does have a touch of spice to everything but goes well with the rice.
I learned about Special Noodle from reading Yelp reviews. I was impressed by how many people were dining as soon as we entered and by how welcoming the staff was as soon as we entered! They seated us right away at our preferred table. Ordering is easy, using their tablet. Our food came out quickly after we put in our orders of beef wonton soup, pork steamed buns, chicken chow fun, chicken fried rice, onion pancake, and cucumber salad. As soon as we tasted the beef won ton soup, we agreed that the broth was perfection! The cucumber salad balanced our carbs, salt, and protein filled dishes. Just as I read on Yelp reviews, the onion pancake is a must as it's absolutely savory and crispy. The only reason I gave four stars for this review is because the pork buns were very salty. We wondered if it was dark inside the bun because of the amount of soy sauce used. They have such hard working, kind staff and with their big team, it made it easy to ask for more napkins, water, forks, and more. We were amazed by the number of people coming in and waiting patiently for a table during dinner time and how quickly staff attended to all of them! Their restaurant and restrooms are clean and the energy is lively! I highly recommend this restaurant!
10/10 would recommend! My son and I have been craving soup dumplings for a long time, and nothing has been able to fulfill our cravings... well not until now. We ordered the 6 Piece Soup Pan Fried Buns, 8 Piece Steamed Soup Dumplings, Onion Pankcake, and the Chicken Chow Mein. We definitely gonna come back here again. It's so delicious and very good.
Special Noodle is a really nice place with beautiful lighting and a clean atmosphere. The food was tasty overall, although a few of the dishes could have used a little more flavor. We ordered the lemon chicken, but it honestly tasted more like orange chicken, which was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything else we tried was delicious. They were also a little short staffed when we went, so just be patient with them. Overall, we had a good experience and I would definitely come back and try some of their other dishes.

Since this was not our first time here, I scanned the QR code and ordered my items. Other than bringing our food, we had to ask for water, ask for to go boxes, and had to ask for our check. No one checked on us, hence minus the star. In their defense, they were busy, so perhaps they need to better staff for a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. Items ordered: Green onion pancake- As expected. This can get greasy, so we usually dab a piece of napkin over it to absorb the grease. Pan fried pork buns- Always a favorite of ours. Juicy and perfectly crispy on the outside Snowflake pan fried dumplings- Another solid choice. Juicy and perfectly crispy Cucumber salad- A nice crunchy appetizer and not overly dressed. Beef noodle soup- as expected Black fish hot pot noodles- This was not as photographed. No mushrooms and just ok. Spicy Dan Dan Noodles- A tad too spicy for hubby but fine for me. A good dish if you like some heat.

Absolutely loved this place! The beef noodles were fantastic -- the noodles were perfectly chewy and springy, and the beef was fresh, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The chive pockets were delicious and wonderfully fragrant, and the sesame balls were perfectly crispy on the outside. Everything we tried was delicious. Definitely a place we'd come back to!
Not bad! We came in during the afternoon and were seated immediately. The service was friendly and quick. The food itself was ok, and it gets the job don't but not my favorite. I was very thirsty for the rest of the day and night, so I do think a lot of MSG was used. I'd come back only if I was in the area and was craving this. It's reasonable priced for the quality and portions.

I like stopping by this place whenever I have a noodle craving. I usually go for their Beef Noodle Soup or Dan Dan Noodles. I like how they don't hold back on the spice, and there's plenty of Sichuan peppercorns to keep the numbing deliciousness going. There's plenty of seating, and the service is really quick. Don't expect a full blown conversation; just your order taken and delivered to you promptly. The meals are filling, and worth the price!

Really enjoyed the food here. Everything was flavorful and tasted very authentic, which is honestly hard to find. The dishes felt well made and not overly Americanized. Definitely a place I'd come back to. read more
Came here on a Friday at 6:30pm and didn't have to wait in line, which was a huge plus. The restaurant did get filled up shortly after us though. Overall, it was a solid spot. We ordered: Dandan noodles Soup dumplings Popcorn chicken Green beans All really delicious and good portions. The food came out quickly too. Honey walnut prawns- wouldn't order again. Bad fry, overly battered & tiniest prawn I've ever seen. No sauce. When we asked for more sauce, they literally just squeezed a regular tasting mayo on it. It didn't have the same sweetness the original sauce had. Green beans- yummy seasoning. Wish it wasn't so soggy & they trimmed it better. It was stringy still. Beef wrap- YUM! OMG GUYS, Tried this for the first time! So yummy and comforting! The people are so nice and hard working. The food is just filled with spice and their chilli oil is so yummy and spicy it almost had the same effect as when you eat wasabi. It is so well priced too. We got 6 big portions and less than $100. Tell me another place you can find with that price and such good food in California. recommend this place! You won't regret!!! read more

This restaurant has a lot of variety, from veggies, sweet and sour chicken to cumin beef, noodles, and rice, but it's quite pricey the a food was okay. In a busy plaza, so parking close to restaurant can be tricky. Weekday lunch was quite busy, but was able to get a table. Order xiaolongbao (pork soup dumplings) $13.95), braised beef noodle soup ($18.49), small red bean sesame balls ($10.49). Prices are quite steep, even for family style, the dishes were that not that large. I wanted some veggies, but it was $20, other dishes cumin lamb is $27.99. You will need to ask for ginger which compliments the xiaolong bao, I've never had to ask for with ginger when ordering xiaolong bao. Xiaolong bao had a great thin wrap, the filling was alright. For the braised beef noodle dish, portion needs to be larger to justify the price. The meat needed more braided flavor and it was dry. Noodles had good chew. Overall, the food was okay, has a ton of food variety, but quite pricey. I think 88 baobao which is the down the road has the better option for soup dumplings. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday evening with family and there was no wait. The interior was modern and had nice leafy decor and lights. We ordered the beef rolls, the soup pan fried pork buns, braise rib mixed noodle, and old Peking minced pork noodle. All the dishes were super flavorful, and I especially loved the soup pan fried pork buns because they were piping hot and crispy on the bottom. Service was super quick and friendly. Casual restaurant. Not a long weight, so that was nice. We got XLB pork dumplings which were delicious! Also really enjoyed the spicy pork belly noodle soup. The noodles in this was nice and chewy. Skip on the Zha Jiang Mian. There were barely any meat and sauce. Also the flavor was not hitting. The pan fried dumplings were pretty good. Also house fried rice was flavorful. Ok so they're called Special Noodle for a reason lol. I used to only get their Pan Fried Pork Buns to-go, but this time, we dined inside and ordered noodles. The Pork Belly Noodles was DELICIOUS - sticky, salty, sweet with big pieces of pork belly and thick noodles. The Thumb sized pan fried buns were adorable and yummy - just like the regular sized ones we've gotten before. The Bucket Beef Noodles Soup however wasn't our favorite. The kind of pepper that was used in the soup overpowered every other flavor that was in there. The staff were friendly and the service was super speedy. I'm a bit on the fence about this place because with a 4.5 star review I thought this place would be really good. The star of this dinner was the fish filet noodle soup for $23 I believe! The flavor in this dish was really good and there was a good amount of the fish as well. The broth was extremely flavorful where we actually drank all of it. 5/5* The chow fun was so underwhelming, there was the slightest hint of wok flavor but not enough where I'd come back for it again. They definitely don't give enough to make it worth $16. This would probably be a skip for me 2/5* The beef noodle soup, I'm not sure why, but we got super fatty pieces of meat where, sure it was good, but I didn't order beef fat noodle soup. Flavor profile wise I wish the noodles were more chewy and broth left me longing for something more flavorful. 3/5* Finally, the pan fried buns, they were tasty and had a good amount of soup and meat inside, but tell me why we ordered that first and it took them 1 hour to make them? We got all our food and finished dinner before they came out. 4/5* for flavor Overall our experience was mixed, they were slightly busy, but they had 3 people working and all the tables weren't full. I politely asked the guy for a plate twice, first time he ignored me, second time I walked up when he was next to the plates and asked him for one and he ignored me again; I got the plate myself instead. Our IPad for ordering shut off randomly and the lady looked annoyed when we asked her to unlock it again. The iPad is fully in Chinese so don't expect much help from the wait staff unless you use their 39mile QR code. I went to Special Noodle with my family for lunch and we had an overall good time! The space is very open with lots of TVs playing various imagery. It took us about 10-15 min to get seated, and we placed our orders on the iPad. The food came out gradually after a few minutes. Every item was solid! The soup dumplings were delicious, and the wrapper is super thin (most of ours actually broke because of how thin it was). The fried baos were also good, though this one took the longest (about thirty minutes to come out) and I thought the bottom was too crunchy for my liking. The cumin lamb was also a little dry, I would skip this one. My favorite was definitely the tomato egg noodles! It was flavorful, and I wish it was even saucier. Marvelous food, great variety, prompt service, and chill low-stimulation eating area. Special Noodle does Taiwanese remarkably well, and ordering à la carte 3-4 items is plenty sufficient for a group of about four. Don't miss out on the wonton soup (an overlooked hit), and the beef wrap, while not too heavy on the meat, is incredibly large and amply filling. We are hoping to come back as often as we are in the area! read more
