As soon as you walk in the door you get hit with flavor and makes you want to sit down and order. I got KHAO SOI with the Beef Stew option. Almost everything about the dish was good. The curry was my favorite part of the dish, thought about picking up the bowl and just drinking it out of the plate. The beef was unfortunately chewy which was a let down since I thought it was gonna be a more melt in your mouth feel since it's beef stew. Overall I would get the dish again but with a different protein. The service is good and usual as any other restaurant. The menu is different than the Thai places I've been to in the peninsula so I tried one of their specialty fried chicken, which we normally don't see. It had a citrusy bright flavor. It wasn't so much our style, but I get why people might enjoy it. The pad see ew, kra pow chicken, and red curry were all delicious and tasty. What I expect and enjoy from Thai food. The only one that was a little bland was the crab fried rice. I ended up pouring red curry sauce on it to give it more flavor. Went here on a weekday for lunch. Very clean, friendly and fast/efficient service. Food came out piping hot, large portions too. Every team member was so friendly, helpful and attentive. Restaurant was steadily busy despite being after the main lunch hour rush. I ordered tofu pumpkin curry and tofu pad see ewe with a bowl of white rice. I've had much tastier items in other Thai restaurants but because the service and portion sizes were so wonderful, bumping up the rating to 4 stars. Normally, I would rate my items only as 3 stars. I also felt that the tofu portion vs. meat was lower than normal so I was disappointed that both dishes didn't have much tofu at all. Came here for Friday night dinner around 7pm for party of two. We had a short wait maybe 5-10 min. Parking was okay, not a lot of spaces but was able to park in the back on the gravel. The restaurant was full wi the people waiting and lots of door dash orders. We only tried the beef noodle soup aka Thai boat noodle. Boy was it good and very authentic! The broth was light, slightly sweet, flavorful and not super thick. It was dark and still rich from the beef blood even though broth was light. We have gone all over to try and fine Thai boat noodle and there aren't a lot of Thai places that serve it since there's so many pho places. Theirs was delicious, decently priced and as good as the ones you can get a the wats or Thai temples. Def want to come back and try more menu items including the fried chicken! Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience at Thai Time Chicken, and the food was honestly the least of my concerns, the service was what really ruined the experience. When I first walked in, I stood there awkwardly for about 5-10 minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. Eventually, a shorter female server came over and led me to a table, but there was still no greeting, "How are you?", or any kind of welcoming interaction. It felt very cold and strictly transactional from the beginning. I ordered the roti, chicken, and pad Thai. The roti was oily and soggy rather than crispy, came with barely any curry sauce, and lacked flavor. I honestly regretted ordering it. The chicken and pad Thai looked beautiful when they arrived, but unfortunately the taste did not match the presentation. The pad Thai had almost no actual pad Thai flavor... it was essentially just saucy noodles without much seasoning or flavor. The chicken was incredibly crispy on one side, but unfortunately soggy on the other, which was especially disappointing because I was really looking forward to the chicken. However, the service was by far the worst part of my experience. I noticed that the server was pouring water for the other customers, but never once poured water for me. I eventually had to ask for it myself, and she still didn't bring me water after that. I also asked the male server for a spice rack, and both times I interacted with him, it felt as though I was inconveniencing him just by asking for something. Water and a spice rack are extremely normal requests at a restaurant, especially at a Thai restaurant. What made me feel particularly uncomfortable was that I wasn't even halfway finished with my meal when a box was brought to me and I was asked to pay. Meanwhile, I could see other customers who appeared to be further along in their meals being allowed to sit, eat, and enjoy their food without being rushed. At that point, I genuinely started wondering why I was being treated so differently. I don't want to make assumptions about someone's intentions, but as a Black customer, the difference in treatment made me feel singled out and discriminated against. I left feeling judged, unwelcome, and honestly just uncomfortable. I'm not expecting servers to be overly friendly or to constantly check on me, but I do expect basic courtesy and equal treatment. A simple greeting, being offered water, being allowed to finish my meal without feeling rushed, and being treated respectfully when I make a normal request shouldn't be too much to expect. Sadly, the food was mediocre and the service made the entire experience even worse. I left feeling like the restaurant simply didn't want me there. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously, because no customer should leave a restaurant feeling this way. read more

The Time Thai Fried Chicken were crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. It came with sweet chili sauce. We didn't really use the sauce because the fried chicken itself was flavorful enough. The positives: We ordered the Green Curry with chicken, and the Pad Thai Fried Chicken. The pad Thai tasted fantastic and the chicken was incredibly crispy while being very tender. I loved the pad Thai fried chicken. For the green curry, most of the green curry tasted great with that savory and spicy balance that green curry normally has. The negatives: the potatoes in the green curry didn't seem cooked entirely. The two dishes were delivered to the table at totally different times. It made it so that my friend finished his food and then after he finished I began eating my pad thai. Because of these two doubles negatives I am lowering the rating by 2 stars. Would I try this place again? Yes, but I would specifically seek out a time when the place has lower traffic than Saturday evenings. I will say the place was quite lively. It didn't live up to my expectations entirely on the food, one shouldn't only make their flagship entrees in a stellar manner, but all the dishes should be stellar tasting. Not a fan of rice. -papaya salad: shredded ripe papaya mixed with tomato bits, crushed peanuts, leeks, green beans. Fresh and crunchy. Lime juice added tartness. Garlic half cloves adds another layer of flava. 7 Fried chicken boneless pieces obviously marinated with herb & spices. Skin on thigh meat was consistently moist, tender, juicy. Had bone in versions elsewhere. Not so juicy-harder to control heat. The fried chicken here is a WINNER. A small serving of mixed greens with peanut dressing was amazing. 4.5 stars Worthy: YMMV. One of our favorite Thai spots in the Easy Bay area. Like many others, their Thai fried chicken is probably the best item on the menu! We had their pad thai, roti, papaya salad, and ka pow. All delicious with friendly portions as well. I noticed that they didn't ask for our spice level preference, so I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if their items aren't known for their spice levels. We needed lunch and we had the dog with us. So, either someplace that had outdoor seating that allowed dogs or else food to go, and we'd have to find a park. We found Time Thai on yelp, and it looked promising. We arrived toward the end of lunch and managed to snag a parking spot at the side of the restaurant across from the railroad tracks. There's outdoor seating on either side of the front door. One side was closed either for remodeling or because the sign was convenient. We went straight to the outdoor seating. There was a two-top and a four-top. We took the two top to ensure we had enough room for our food. Neither of us got a look inside the restaurant as a server came out, asked us how many and handed up menus. Ice water and set-ups were brought out. We had brought a bowl with us and poured in some ice water for the dog. I'm a huge fan of Roti with Yellow Curry. The reviews say nice things about the Fried Chicken so we knew we had to try that. Lastly, I wanted something with curry and veg. Roti w/ House Curry Sauce - 5 - Seemed like a smaller portion than we're used to, but the flavors and textures were spot on. There is nothing I would change about this dish, but I do wish I had thought to ask if they could make it with an egg turning it into Roti Telur. Coco Prawn w/ Brown Rice - 5 - All the flavors were excellent. The brown rice was the perfect accompaniment to the curry sauce. I ate all the rice served at the restaurant, but we also had brown rice already cooked at home and the leftovers went well with it. The prawns were nicely cleaned and cooked perfectly. Khao Yum Gai Zapp - 5 - had knock your socks off flavor! The only thing I may have changed was ordering Brown Rice instead of the rice that came with it. The food came out fairly quickly. Our server came and checked on us several times, making sure that we had enough water. This restaurant definitely earned a return visit. I've been here quite a few times, and their flavors are always consistent and fresh. Even when I grab my order to go, it tastes just as good as if I had dined in. I've been wanting to try the dinner at the Pleasanton location after going to Time Thai Kitchen in Livermore for brunch. We got seated after a short wait on a busy Sunday night. We started off with the Time Thai Kitchen Fried chicken, Fried Calamari, and Roti for appetizers. The fried chicken was moist and crispy, but a tad sweeter than what we prefer. It is very consistent though and tasted exactly like the fried chicken we had from their Livermore brunch. The fried calamari was light and crispy, we really liked it. The roti was crispy and flaky. I would order the last two again. For entrees we ordered the garlic prawns, yellow curry, pad see ew, and pad thai fried chicken. The broccoli with the garlic prawns was perfectly tender, but the garlic prawns were a bit small. The yellow curry was a hit and the flavors were really bright. We thought both the pad see ew and the pad thai fried chicken was also a bit on the sweeter side. They were good, but hard to finish in one sitting due to the heaviness of the sweet sauce. Overall, we enjoyed the meal but probably won't come back very soon as the flavors don't quite align with our palettes. I think I preferred the brunch in Livermore and the sweetness of the dishes more aligned with what I anticipate at brunch compared to dinner. I did like the thai iced tea and would get it again if I came back. Overall, service was nice, but with how busy it was it was difficult to get their attention at times. The restaurant is located near main street and while there's a small parking lot in the back, there's additional parking on a dirt lot to the side of the restaurant. For the 2 of us we ordered the som tum set with fried chicken and spicy basil fried rice with pork - Thai hot. The server double checked if we really wanted that level of hotness. Yes we like it hot. The Som Tum was tasty and very citrusy and the chicken was juicy. The sticky rice that came with the set was unfortunately dry. The spicy basil fried rice had enough kick, but we like it hot, so we asked for the condiments to add more chili to it. It was sweet as with most of Thai dishes. We didn't order any drink as most Thai drinks tend to be too sweet for us. But we noticed they have happy hour? Might try next time. The service was okay.
