Really disappointing experience with Andy & Yu's. I ordered through DoorDash and two Fried Rice Combos totaling $39 were completely missing from my order. When I contacted the restaurant, Megan, who identified herself as the manager, blamed the Dasher rather than taking any ownership or helping resolve the problem. The Dasher, meanwhile, blamed the restaurant. As the customer, I have no way of knowing whether the restaurant failed to give the food to the Dasher or the Dasher failed to deliver it. And frankly, I shouldn't have to figure that out. What really bothered me was the response from Megan. If you're the manager and a customer calls because $39 worth of food from your restaurant is missing, I'd expect some effort to help resolve it--not simply "it's the Dasher's fault." I was ultimately told I could come pick up the food myself. That's not much of a solution when I specifically paid to have dinner delivered. DoorDash eventually refunded me $44.95, so this isn't about getting more money. It's about how the situation was handled. Mistakes happen. Two entrees getting lost somewhere between the restaurant and my front door is frustrating, but fixable. A manager immediately passing the blame and leaving the customer to sort it out is what turned a missing-food problem into a one-star experience. read more

I think the thing I appreciate most about Andy & Yu's is their consistency. I know whenever I order from them I'm going to get exactly what I was expecting, no surprises and there's something to be said about that. In fairness, though, it was the only dish I'd ever order from them and can't judge the rest of their cuisine by this one experience. Solid flavors, high prices. They aren't cheap, but theirs noodles are well seasoned and have a good amount of protein, and their wonton soup is what we crave whenever we are feeling under the weather. I called in an order on a weeknight around 5pm and the order was ready for pickup within 20 minutes. We had the wonton soup to start, followed by the Singapore noodles and szeschuan beef. Just based on food, this is a 3.5 star but the ambiance and service was definitely good and upscale. That said, the food is what will either convince me to come back or not and the meal, while enjoyable, wasn't good enough value to bring me back. This was my first time at Andy and Yu's, and I must say I was impressed and pleasantly suprised! The ambiance is large and open but also very cozy and intimate. The restaurant is a great place for anything from a date night, taking the kids out, business dinners, or going out with friends or family. I loved how the food was not overly salty or greasy. The vegetables tasted very fresh and flavorful. The asparagus was perfectly crunchy. I really loved the Hong Kong style noodles, and I would recommend them. Again, I'm not a big mushroom fan but omg these ones were so plump and juicy and delicious! The kung pao chicken was good, although I could have stood for a bit more punch in sauce or spice. I loved the fluffy fried rice and even though it was the vegetarian option, I found it to be extremely satisfying and rich. Not pictured is one of the highlights for me - the sizzling rice soup. Each bowl came with a hearty amount of chicken and sizzling rice and vegetables - I would highly recommend this dish. The service was extremely efficient, warm and polite. We've been regular customers here for years always ordering our favorite General Tso's chicken for its amazing flavor. Tonight we ordered the same and were incredibly disappointed when we received something that looked like stir fry chicken instead of the authentic recipe. We questioned the hostess and she said they don't make it that way any longer. Service was good we were sat pretty quick with no wait. They were very friendly and food came out pretty quick. It was a bit busy but not loud which was nice. I ordered the orange peel beef, chicken chow mein and spicy prawns. The orange beef was ok too much breading on the beef and couldn't really taste much of the beef. Would not get this again. The spicy prawns were good they were crispy good flavor they were just not spicy at all. That's my only complain would deff get it again. The chow mein was ok felt like it was missing flavor. But it had a good amount of chicken in it. The portions are pretty good size had tons of left overs. This place is just wonderful for banquets and special events. The staff is terrific, and the food is great. We recently ordered take-out for just a regular weeknight. The food was very satisfying... What we ordered: + Beef with orange flavor - this was very good. The beef was tender and had a slight sweet flavor. + Fried rice - what can it say, it was typical fried rice + Garlic noodles - good, but could have been a little more garlicky + Green bean - nice flavor and still crunchy + Peking duck - tasted good, but it didn't have the Peking duck skin. We ordered mild vegetarian options and were thoroughly impressed: Vegetable Egg Rolls: Hot, crispy, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The dipping sauce was excellent. Mains: The Vegetable Egg Fried Rice and Sautéed String Beans were delicious, but the Sweet and Sour Tofu was the best dish. A nice restaurant that can be booked for private events with options indoor and outdoor. Could be a good choice for a large party indoors but not completely private as they offer room dividers shared with other diners. Unfortunately the food did not deliver on what we were hoping for.. The cream cheese rangoons were very salty and a small portion. The Crispy Chicken was not crispy at all since they are smothered in a sauce. I was thrown off by the sauce because the menu doesnt mention anything about a sauce- if I could guess it would be a lemon or orange chicken? Also very salty.. Our go to Chinese restaurant recently closed so we're on a search for a new location. Tried Andy & Yu's tonight and was very disappointed. Tried Kung Po and chicken tasted very old. Lots of veggies but no heat. Mu Shu pork had little meat but lots of onions. Overall did not like the flavors of the dishes, and it was quite expensive for the portion size. Won't return. I wanted to like it more. We ordered the most expensive Signature Family Meal for 10-people. Verdict: the meal was just ok. Flavors were lacking and there was no hot tea. Definitely had better Peking Duck at other places. Not as authentic overall as I had hoped. Other: Service was good. Location was terrific, but parking was very tough for dinner. Our large party was seated about 10-12 ft from the front door which was not ideal. No ambiance, and when the hot food came out, the cold wind would quickly cool it down. Everyone in our party kept their jackets and coats on. Maybe next time. I can't say I'd be back unless I was in the area and someone really wanted to go. I have visited this restaurant several times over the last few years, and I can tell you that the food, drinks, and service are consistently excellent. My favorite item to order is the sampler platter appetizer that comes with literally one of all of my favorite things, they also give you a little tray of 3 to 4 sauces to dip your appetizers. Every time I've gone there I've had a different server or bartender and each time I have been treated as if I was a VIP. So that tells me the service is consistently at a high standard. I typically go in the afternoons on Saturdays and surprisingly, I can always find parking in the back of the restaurant in the parking lot and both of their entrances are ADA friendly and the bathrooms are always immaculately clean. read more

Came here for a rehearsal dinner. The ambiance was very relaxed and perfect for the event. We started out with drinks - I did the lychee mocktail and my family copied me (I influenced them haha). The food came out periodically in family style portions. Portions were more than enough, and the flavors were exceptional. Beef chow Fun (wet/gravy style) w black bean sauce was not as strong/distinct as we hoped for but still good. When the regular beef chow fun was delivered, the waitstaff noticed it wasn't our special order and quickly had it returned and resolved. The black bean version had none of the original quality of vegetables (asparagus, carrots, broccoli), just onions , green & red peppers but we still appreciated the correction effort. The brown sauce still seems similar to triple crown specialty. Note chow fun can be prepared (dry/sauteed or wet/w gravy). All dishes had plenty fresh vegetables and proteins. read more

We came here for lunch and later hosted a Red Egg & Ginger party here. We had great experiences both times, but the party was an especially positive experience and I couldn't be happier we chose Andy & Yu's as the venue. Everyone we spoke with was extremely attentive and helpful. Megan helped day of and I organized everything and asked tons of questions to Nicole via email, who was super responsive, professional and knowledgeable. The restaurant made the red eggs and ginger for us and walked me through all the options for food, beverages, etc. The experience was great and the food was delicious. This isn't the "most" traditionally Chinese food but everyone who attended really enjoyed the food. I heard from many people also that they loved the lobster tail appetizer when they normally don't like lobster! I heard a guest say the same about prawns after trying the honey walnut prawns. Ordered take out from here and it did not disappoint! Very much appreciated the menu being clear on what dishes were gluten free or could be made gluten free - there were a ton of options! We called to make our order and someone picked up immediately. We ordered hot and sour soup, cashew chicken, and honey walnut prawns (all gluten free!). The food was ready in 15 minutes and pick up was quick! Our favorite was the hot and sour soup, filled with vegetables and deliciously spiced! Cashew chicken was also sizeable portion with chicken and veggies. The prawns were good but the portion size was a bit small relative to the other dishes. The taste and quality sure have taken a hit recently. This has been our go to take out for a while, since we live down the street. However, this last trip was probably our last. I called in an order, first mistake. I repeated twice shrimp AND veggie chow mein. The host I kept repeating 'VEGGIE!'. Fine, guess I'll skip tonight's protein. The veggie hot and sour soup is a hard pass. Very bland and eh. Oh and by veggies they mean like 5 veggies. The chow mein is yummy, but if you want the right ingredients, I suggest typing out your order and checking it before you take it home. I usually don't pay attention to other patrons in the line, but I do want to mention the host was not very nice to the door dash people. In fact she was quite curt to the dashers. I understand the restaurant is busy, but if you're not slowing down to make sure you get orders right and are rude to service curriers, then I don't believe you should be afforded any grace for your mistakes. But she was splendid and asked an older gentleman if he wanted utensils and any condiments. I suggest not being particular towards certain folk, especially those fellow service workers. Elegant! Sophisticated! Welcoming! Delectable!!! Memorable!!! Let me explain. It was a Monday afternoon. My original plan was to have lunch at another Chinese restaurant but to my surprise it was closed for the week. So I checked Yelp to find another Chinese restaurant in the area. Andy & Yu's ratings were good so what the heck. This restaurant is located in downtown Pleasant so I can imagine parking may be challenging but not this day. Found parking in front of the restaurant. The exterior was clean. Seriously, I was not expecting to walk through the doors into a warm cozy stylish interior. Nice dining chairs in the waiting area lined against dark oak walls and wine bottles lying on shelves horizontally. Hanging were beautiful Asian portraits. I was greeted with a warm welcome and seated at a table covered in white table linen with black cloth table napkins. The waiter was polite and helpful with menu choices. Without me specifying my water preference it was served with ice and a lemon wedge in what seemed to be a crystal glass. Giving that fancy culinary Hollywood dining vibe. I ordered Szechuan beef and upgrade to pork fried rice from the lunch menu. The entree comes with fresh mixed vegetables ( carrots, cabbage, broccoli, & baby bok choy) which were all my favorites. Every strip of beef was tender stir-fried with zucchini in an amazing sauce. Not too spicy but just the right amount of heat. To my liking this lunch came with plenty veggies. Also came with soup served very very hot temperature ...also to my liking. Everything tasted amazing!! Rich, fresh, and flavorful. Definitely a master chef's cuisine. Great portions. Meat & veggie well balanced. Got a bite of each in every bite. I even ate my fortune cookie, which I never ever do. I usually crack it open just to read the fortune. I even thought it tastes great but maybe at that point I was hypnotized by the ambiance and superb cuisine. Lunch excluding tip was under $20 which is a reasonable amount to spend on lunch. The take out box was the traditional Chinese box... microwaveable. Not the typical black toxic plastic to-go container. This spot was so exquisite. Once inside I considered turning around thinking to myself I'm not dressed for the occasion...and where's my date. I got a glimpse of the bar area and it too looked inviting. I don't live near by but I'll cross the bridge to dine here anytime without hesitation. I thought about this place for days!!! We shared assorted appetizers, and ordered two lunch specials - Kung Po chicken, and Sweet and Sour Pork. Appetizers were good, and I enjoyed the hot and sour soup. Entrées were filling but on the bland side of the "chili hot" spectrum, which worked fine for us.
