Solid flavors, high prices. They aren't cheap, but theirs noodles are well seasoned and have a good amount of protein, and their wonton soup is what we crave whenever we are feeling under the weather. I called in an order on a weeknight around 5pm and the order was ready for pickup within 20 minutes. We had the wonton soup to start, followed by the Singapore noodles and szeschuan beef. An easy weeknight meal when you don't want to cook.

Just based on food, this is a 3.5 star but the ambiance and service was definitely good and upscale. That said, the food is what will either convince me to come back or not and the meal, while enjoyable, wasn't good enough value to bring me back. Got the salt and pepper calamari, walnut prawns, string beans, and beef chow fun. Calimari and walnut prawns were the best items of the meal and while green beans were a generous portion and the chow fun noodles were fresh, both lacked the layered flavor I want with my food.

This was my first time at Andy and Yu's, and I must say I was impressed and pleasantly suprised! The ambiance is large and open but also very cozy and intimate. The restaurant is a great place for anything from a date night, taking the kids out, business dinners, or going out with friends or family. I loved how the food was not overly salty or greasy. The vegetables tasted very fresh and flavorful. The asparagus was perfectly crunchy. I really loved the Hong Kong style noodles, and I would recommend them. Again, I'm not a big mushroom fan but omg these ones were so plump and juicy and delicious! The kung pao chicken was good, although I could have stood for a bit more punch in sauce or spice. I loved the fluffy fried rice and even though it was the vegetarian option, I found it to be extremely satisfying and rich. Not pictured is one of the highlights for me - the sizzling rice soup. Each bowl came with a hearty amount of chicken and sizzling rice and vegetables - I would highly recommend this dish. The service was extremely efficient, warm and polite. Thanks Andy and Yu's for a great dinner out with my mom :)

Something resembling & tasting like more of a stir fry chicken

We've been regular customers here for years always ordering our favorite General Tso's chicken for its amazing flavor. Tonight we ordered the same and were incredibly disappointed when we received something that looked like stir fry chicken instead of the authentic recipe. We questioned the hostess and she said they don't make it that way any longer. Truth in advertising should be enough for them to rename whatever it is they are serving in place of Tso's chicken.

Service was good we were sat pretty quick with no wait. They were very friendly and food came out pretty quick. It was a bit busy but not loud which was nice. I ordered the orange peel beef, chicken chow mein and spicy prawns. The orange beef was ok too much breading on the beef and couldn't really taste much of the beef. Would not get this again. The spicy prawns were good they were crispy good flavor they were just not spicy at all. That's my only complain would deff get it again. The chow mein was ok felt like it was missing flavor. But it had a good amount of chicken in it. The portions are pretty good size had tons of left overs. I also ordered a lychee martini it was good and refreshing a little too sweet for me but had a good balance. Parking can be hit or miss with the parking lot in the rear of the restaurant.

This place is just wonderful for banquets and special events. The staff is terrific, and the food is great. We recently ordered take-out for just a regular weeknight. The food was very satisfying... What we ordered: + Beef with orange flavor - this was very good. The beef was tender and had a slight sweet flavor. + Fried rice - what can it say, it was typical fried rice + Garlic noodles - good, but could have been a little more garlicky + Green bean - nice flavor and still crunchy + Peking duck - tasted good, but it didn't have the Peking duck skin. Came with Chinese tortillas, scallions, and plumb sauce. Overall, the food didn't blow me away, but still very good and satisfying.

Great atmosphere! Excellent customer service! Like the cleanliness. Walnut prawns were good. I ate the Walnut prawns here before. They were consistently good.

Really enjoyed the service at Andy & Yu's! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. You can tell they've established relationships with those that regularly come in. A nice restaurant that can be booked for private events with options indoor and outdoor. Could be a good choice for a large party indoors but not completely private as they offer room dividers shared with other diners. Unfortunately the food did not deliver on what we were hoping for.. The cream cheese rangoons were very salty and a small portion. The Crispy Chicken was not crispy at all since they are smothered in a sauce. I was thrown off by the sauce because the menu doesnt mention anything about a sauce- if I could guess it would be a lemon or orange chicken? Also very salty.. The honey walnut prawns tasted very strange.. lots of mayo and maybe even a hint of wasabi. We only ate a few pieces. The breading was also mushy.

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more Full disclaimer. I haven't been to the restaurant, but I've tried their vegan potstickers at the Kaiser Vallejo Farmers Market. So, since I wasn't able to find a check in for that market, I had to come here to sing their praises. 6 Vegan Potstickers at the market are $13. I recommend spending the $1 for chili oil. Not sure what they charge at the restaurant for these fried pockets of deliciousness, but I tell you if these taste this good at a farmers market, packaged in a box, and I wait 10 minutes before I find a seat in the hospital cafeteria, and it still tastes this good, the restaurant must be out of this world. The wrapper has a great thickness and offers a sticky and chewy bite. Pan fried still comes out after having these steam in a to go box, so the restaurant would probably make these pan fried babies have even more texture. I heard they are at the SF Ferry Building Market on Saturday and Walnut Creek Farmers Market on Sunday. Double check those, but finding a great vegan potsticker is not easy.

I was surprised that there was no sauce on this as there was enough flavor from the beef to pair well with the noodles. Simple, tasty, and perfect for my lunch. It is a bit pricy for the portion but the quality is there. Plus it's made to order. I'll continue to get the small bites for my friend and will try the other meals down the road.

I picked it for a family lunch after going to the Livermore outlets. The decor and ambience is typical but relatively nice. We ordered a bunch of Shanghainese classics: Soy milk 4/5 - if you order multiple servings it comes in a large bowl meant for sharing. Can order cold or hot with sugar on the side. Xiao long bao 4.5/5 - I'm pretty picky about xlb and I am partial to the Shanghainese style (vs Taiwanese style you get at DTF and other places) and this was surprisingly good. Before this, my fav in the bay area was I-Shanghai Delight and honestly I think this might rival it. Filling and soup were both savory and light and incredibly umami. Maybe the wrapper at I-Shanghai is a bit thinner but honestly not a huge difference to me. Would def recommend if you like this style. Braised minced eel 5/5 - OMG this was the highlight of the meal for me, and I think only ppl who like this eel dish would understand. I honestly have not found good Shanghainese stir fried eel anywhere else in the Bay area. Chef Zhao's version was good once upon a time but then the most recent time we went, it tasted weird and not fresh. I-Shanghai Delight's was also no good (not fresh). This is the one dish that I will keep coming back here for. Razor clams with ginger and scallion 5/5 - This was also a crowd fav. I don't love clams usually but these were big and meaty and tender, and the sauce is what you would expect. Highly recommend Stewed yellow croaker soup with pickles 3/5 - This was ok and could've been better. Flavor of the soup was good but I think the fish tasted a bit overcooked/dry and could've been more tender. Shredded pork with wild rice shoot 4/5 - This was fine and a very traditional Chinese dish. Nicely done but nothing amazing. Red bean pancake 4/5 - This was a good dish, just not what I expected. I like the red bean pancakes where the pancake part is more doughy while this was like VERY crispy. But the flavor was good Lastly, the lady who took care of our table was SO nice and so chatty and so patient, despite the usual chaos and indecision of large family gatherings. She also packed up all the food for us and even gave suggestions for surrounding Chinese supermarkets. All in all, it was a really pleasant experience with good food and I will def be going back for more

For anyone coming, the parking can be really bad as it shares probably 20 or so spots with several other restaurants. It's near impossible to park nearby with the alternative of parking near the Panera's or even the target. There's plenty of tables and seats inside, and it was pretty slow when we dined in. Convenient televisions on two different sides where all the workers were casually watching, and quite the chatter in the kitchen where they're all watching the World Cup. That doesn't really affect service however as they're quite attentive when called for. We ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice, and the medium bbq platter with char sound soy sauce chicken. Despite the slightly higher price point comparing to other similar restaurants, they didn't skimp on anything. The rice and noodle dishes were loaded with delicious toppings, and the taste was on point. The BBQ pork and the beef filet dish were both fantastic. The meat/fat ratio of the BBQ pork was just right, and the beef filet cubes were tender and flavorful. The porridge was just okay. My mom's version still reigns supreme.
