This spot is delicious! I love both their locations. Their drunken noodles are so yum and their chefs special dishes are great too! The service is speedy and the restaurant itself has a lot of tables but it does get busy. I'd definitely recommend this spot for amazing Thai food.
Plenty of parking, but wow this place gets busy. The restaurant is a bit small. There is only one bathroom for both genders, so you can be waiting for a bit. The menu was a big book. The size of the dishes were decent! I expected smaller tbh. Only thing I felt like needed to be bigger was the Roti and Curry. Need more roti bread for 12.95 appetizer. Came here with a group of 8 people. We were feasting. Roti and curry was good. Papaya salad needed a bit more flavor. Chicken skewers tasted just as expected. Pho Tak - decent size. Lots of noodles and toppings. Pad Thai - okayyy. pad see eew - This tasted good. Garlic whole fish - I think needed to be crispier but I definitely did enjoy the flavor on this. Firey pork belly - had the best flavor. i love the spiciness to this. but the pieces of pork belly was so small. mostly veggies in this dish. beef shank - skip this one. the beef was so tough. Chewing forever. Tofu Madness - my 2nd favorite. the fried tofu was abdunant and the flavor on this was great. I loved it with rice. Service was really quick. The food came out fast. The workers refilled our waters constantly. Great overall!
First time visit this Thai restaurant. I saw the vibe on Yelp looks good so we drive 1 hour to there for a friend gathering. But the vibe turn bad after half way of our dinner. While we all enjoying our chat, the servers interrupt our conversation so many times. They keep coming for clean up table, take away dishes, and even ask if we need to-go box when we never even ask for the bill yet! This make us feel like they really rush us out, even though there are still lot of empty tables inside. We only stay there less than 1.5 hours for dinner from 6 to 7:15. I don't think they welcome customer to stay inside and talk, they just want you eat the food and go. The food in general is just average, but the way of servers really screw up the whole night. If u wanna eat fast food style Thai food, maybe this is the place. However if u want to find a restaurant to gather with friends and enjoy the dinner, sorry not recommend. Black list for sure!
Came here on a Saturday evening with a group of friends for dinner and got seated right away. The decor is cute and it's a relatively casual spot. We shared chicken skewers, roti with curry, eggplant and veggies stir fry, pad Thai, drunken noodles, and pumpkin curry with coconut rice. Everything was good and what you would expect when you order Thai food. Portion sizes were big, prices were reasonable, and service was quick. I would recommend giving them a try if you're craving Thai food and are in the area!
Finally got a chance to go!! Waiter recommended Tofu Madness since we liked spicy stuff and were eating vegetarian. Just from the look I could tell that this was unlike any other tofu I've ever eaten (I've had ALOT of Thai food). The tofu resembled paneer and tasted very nice and juicy and you could not tell that it was tofu and not paneer. And this was one of the rare dishes where black pepper didn't overpower the dish and you could still taste other flavors within. Also got Tofu Drunken Noodle with this and they were very nice as well. I got and LOVED the Lychee Iced Tea and sipped it every time I felt the tofu spice hitting for the nice cooling effect. Definitely coming back here next time and trying the meat!
Tried three different dishes. Everything on the menu looked good. Prices were reasonable, service was pleasant and very attentive. All the dishes were flavorful and there is a hot sauce caddy if you want to add some heat or some sour to your dish. The place is small, but tables turned over regularly and there was a decent flow. The food came out really fast. They were also doing a lot of togo orders. Overall it was a nice meal, good size portions for a fair price. If you want something totally innovative and new, this might not be the place, but if you are craving Thai food and are in the area, this will probably do the trick.
Andaman is one of our local Thai places. They are family owned and on the San Ramon Marketplace. Today we had iced chai coffee which we like better than chai tea. We order items with minimal heat when possible. The Papaya salad had a nice flavor without being too spicy. The lemongrass chicken, nicely prepared, had the standard Thai spices we like. Servers are also friendly and helpful. Inside the restaurant is nicely laid out and pleasant. Today at noon the restaurant was packed and some were using the outside tables. We recommend Andaman Thai.
Came here on a packed Friday night at the San Ramon location. Parking can be tough but we found it was easier to find a spot on the Trader Joe's side of the lot. We had a group of 3 and ordered a bunch of food to share. Even though it was busy, our server was very attentive and took the time to explain the menu to us. The portions are no joke, we were barely able to finish everything. Here is what we got: Pineapple Fried Rice: Definitely try this if you come here. It comes served in a real pineapple which is a nice touch and tastes amazing. Yellow Chicken Curry: This was so so good. They use dark meat chicken so it was super juicy and tender, not dry at all. Drunken Noodle with Beef: Solid flavor and good amount of beef. Fried Calamari: Crispy and a good starter. None of our food had spice warnings and it was all perfectly fine to eat, nothing was too spicy. Overall a great food experience with solid service. We left stuffed.
Best Thai place I've had in the tri valley area! We ordered so much stuff and yet finished it all. Soft shell crab, satay chicken, Tom kha, green curry, and goong krieter. It was all super good. The tom kha could have used more veggies perhaps. The green curry was my favorite and I think the green curry is the best way to measure a Thai restaurant's level. Service was great as well. They have outdoor seating too for a sunny day. Will definitely come back!
I highly recommend this location as there is no parking fee. Plenty of parking at the back right outside of the entrance. Also walkable to TJ in just a minute. Server is as very attentive and I especially like the pineapple fried rice and the moist rice noodles. Ambiance is nice: not too bright not too dark. Will come again.
It has been awhile since I have been here. Food is descent and service is fine. My friends and I came around 11:30am and we were seated right away. By the time we finished eating around 12:30pm, there was a line at the door. The seafood sizzling plate was delicious. My friend enjoyed her chicken noodle soup. The papaya salad was so so for me. Overall, I would come back for the seafood sizzling plate and the usual popular Thai dishes here. There is msg at this restaurant. The restaurant is cute and clean. Ambiance is great. They also have patio seating. If you want a quieter atmosphere, sit outside.
Had a good meal at Andaman Thai. Tried the Tom Kha chicken soup, which had great flavor, though the chicken pieces were quite large for a soup and a bit awkward to eat. The curry puff was okay, but could've used a bit more depth in flavor. That said, the soft shell crab was really good and so was the cashew nut chicken--both well-cooked and flavorful. Overall, a solid meal at reasonable prices. Service was quick and friendly, and the ambience is warm and inviting with lots of greenery that makes the space feel relaxed and pleasant.
Andaman Thai has to be one of the best Thai food restaurants in the tri valley area. Went an hour before closing on a Friday night, and the place was busssy, however we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The restaurant is very clean and has plenty of inside and outdoor seating. The menu is easy to go through and we ended up ordering Roti and curry Papaya salad Pad see eew with chicken Grilled whole fish Mango sticky rice The food was delicious and nicely presented definitely coming back here again to try more of their food. Service was good too! I ordered a sprite at the beginning of my meal but I never ended up getting it but I wasn't bummed out about it cause I'm not even supposed to be drinking sugar so I took it as a sign lol, but it was nothing to fret over, and they didn't charge me for it either. Great food will be back again.
It's been 6 years since my last review. I continue to come here for Thai food because it's the best in town. So excited to know that they will be moving to a larger space in the same shopping center. They can get super packed and the wait is long on the weekends so moving to a larger space means more people can enjoy Andaman Thai! Today I noticed that they had new dishes on their "Secret Menu." And can I just mention that I love their new menus! The photos of the dishes look delicious and tantalizing!!! The service is always A+! We ordered: Tom Kha - so flavorful but I wish this soup had more veggies. It's mainly chicken chunks and mushrooms. Fried Calamari - Decent. It stayed crispy even after dipped in their delicious sauce. Green curry with tofu and veggies - another flavorful dish with fresh veggies and tofu. Such a delight. Kor Moo Yang (Pork Jowl) - Good grilled flavor. I wish it were more tender and maybe cooked more. The tamarind sauce complimented the pork well. So good with jasmine rice. There were other dishes I want to try, like the Heavenly Pork, Grilled Pork Salad and the Chicken Wrap. Maybe next time! read more
This is for the San Ramon location.. the food is fantastic.. I really feel at home here as I do at their other locations. Service is good . There are planet of tables with outdoor seating as well with heaters tonight it was just too cold out. 52 degrees at 815. 10/10/2026. If you are looking for an above average Thai experience in the East Bay but don't want to pay the super inflated prices, then definitely give "Andaman Thai" a try. They actually have three (3) locations in the Bay Area; Walnut Creek, Danville, and the location I am reviewing, San Ramon. This particular location opened its doors back in early-2018 and has had very positive feedback up to the present day. Located in an upscale strip mall on the corner of Bollinger Canyon Rd & Alcosta Blvd in the Marketplace Shopping Center in San Ramon, this place is just a few minutes from Highway 680. Parking was fairly easy to find, even during our visit which was on Saturday 8/8/2026 at around 7:15pm. Even though my lady and I didn't make reservations, we were seated immediately even with as busy as it was. The interior dining area is small but offers ample space complete with various booths and tables for small and larger guests. The beige walls with the brown ceilings and hanging lights really gave the overall appearance a cozy yet upscale one. Keep in mind that this place can get loud (mainly during the busy nights and weekends) so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic dining experience, this might not be your best option. As for their menu, they offer a very respectable number of choices. This includes appetizers, soups, salads, noodles, fried rice, curry dishes, and main entrées. Many of the traditional Thai favorites are found here as well as tofu dishes (for the vegans) and seafood dishes (for the pescatarians). As for our entrées, my lady went with their "Pad See Ew" which included pan-fried thick rice noodles with beef (as her protein), Chinese broccoli and eggs in sweet black soy sauce. I went with their "Seafood Hot Plate" which offered prawns, scallops, calamari, fish and mussels with peppercorn, bell pepper, onions, ginger root and basil sauteed in a spicy sweet chili paste sauce. We both split a side of rice and for drinks, I went with a "Thai Iced Tea" while she ordered a diet soda. I will say that for it being a Saturday evening, our food came out in less than 10 minutes! That's a huge plus considering how hungry we both were. As for our dishes, hers was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of sweet, salty, and savory in the noodles, veggies, eggs, and beef. Mine though was a bit on the spicy side. I've had my fair share of Thai dishes over the past few decades, and this seafood hot plate took "hot" to a whole other level of spicy. I also wanted to add that there wasn't a whole abundance of seafood as I found way more bell peppers and onions than anything else. However, service was top notch while the prices were lower than many other Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. All in all, I am giving "Andaman Thai" an above average four-star rating. While her dish was excellent with a decent amount of meat, mine was just average at-best with not enough seafood. This place does have fairly decent hours of operation being open seven days a week from 11am-2:30pm (for lunch) and 5-9pm (for dinner). I definitely see myself returning and possibly checking out their other locations. But for small or large parties, I highly recommend checking them out. read more

Hidden gem! Tucked away in the busy parking lot of TJ's there's an amazing spot for incredible Thai food! Andaman is the place to go! To be honest, we're Thai rookies and played it safe and everything we ordered was a 10/10! The only downside is it's a small place and with the lunch crowd it was VERY loud inside. But still worth it! We ordered meat crispy rolls and Satay Chicken for starters and strongly recommend both! Main course were the Pad Thai with chicken and pumpkin curry. That pad Thai was remarkable! Wifey absolutely loved her pumpkin curry. Wasn't for me, but if you like that kind of thing, she raved over it! We'll be back several more times! read more

With a waitlist in tow Waitress / server uber talented with handling orders - calmly takes our orders - multiple rounds - first with apps and food for the kiddos- followed by main course for the adults Apps - tasty Main course - even better Amazed by how with precision on a Monday packed night dinner went by in a breeze :) We have ordered takeout from here before but enjoying the same in the restaurant is even better ! I tried Andaman for the first time yesterday for lunch and overall enjoyed the meal. I came with 3 other friends and we all ordered separate dishes. The restaurant is not too big and could seat maybe 6-8 tables. The decor is nice and clean and the ambiance was casual. The service was a bit slow and they kept forgetting items that we asked for so we did need to remind them several times before getting all the items we needed. We came during lunch and it was semi busy with 70% of the tables full. I ordered a tofu pad thai and my friend ordered the thai basil and Yen Ta Fo noodle soup. I enjoyed the pad thai but it was a bit sweet for my palate. The serving size was quite large and can probably be shared between two people with smaller appetites. My friend enjoyed her noodle soup and said it had good flavor but the calamari rings were overcooked and rubbery. The serving size was large and could be shared between two. For desert we got the mango sticky rice and fried bananas with ice cream. Both were delicious and amazing. I loved the mango sticky rice. The sticky rice was very well made and had perfect texture and creamy sweetness for the coconut milk. Overall decent Thai place and would probably be back again sometime. read more

I ordered the yellow curry. It was good. The curry was flavorful and creamy. The chicken was moist and tender. They were generous with the amount of chicken given; which was nice. The cucumber salad was good. A few things I noticed, but nothing too bad: My table wasn't completely clean before they sat me down, but that's okay. My food came out quickly, which was nice considering they weren't busy. The whole time I was eating my meal, no one ever asked if everything was okay, although I heard them ask other tables. They did come by once to refill my water without me needing to ask. They cleared the dishes from my table, but didn't ask if I wanted to order dessert or anything else. I actually wanted to try their mango sticky rice, but they brought me my check. So I didn't order it. read more

Every part of this place- minus the understandable wait for a table and food- was Heaven! There are a plethora of vegetarian friendly dishes here that I honestly liked just as much as non-veggie dishes. The tofu surprised everyone at my table with how well marinated and crispy it was. Didn't even taste like tofu if I'm being honest! For meat dishes, we ordered the spicy pork belly and a drunken noodle with chicken. The pork belly is now a must order every time I return: it was so crispy and flavorful. I also need to note that the spice level, while spicy, is very flavorful spice, and not punchy painful spice. The menus are all these little books with thick pages that make it feel expensive and upscale despite reasonable ($18ish per plate) prices. My only comment on ambiance was that the night we went, the lights were SO bright that we actively noticed it during our meal. This might be a one off based on whoever controls the lights though. Worth the drive to get here! read more

Lunch at San Ramon location vs Walnut Creek. I prefer Walnut Creek; better ambiance and food. It was too small & noisy at San Ramon location but they do have outside tables; just too chilly for me to eat outside. We started with some fresh spring rolls w/shrimp; good appetizer. And we shared pumpkin curry w/tofu, drunken noodles w/shrimp and Khua King Kai. I liked the pumpkin curry the best over my rice. The drunken noodles were on the dry side and it was my first time trying the Khua King Kai dish so I did not know what to expect. read more
First time at this location. The wait was long and the food was ok. We started out with chicken satay a bit salty the yellow chicken curry was not what we expected the chicken was fatty and rubbery couldn't even break it with the fork and the potatoes were hard. They were nice to make us a vegetarian one instead. The pineapple rice was good and so was the pad Thai. The thai iced tea was good. The service was great and the place is clean and decorated nicely. read more

Restaurant was completely full, which is a great sign. Was put on a waitlist for lunch and waited only about 10 minutes. The servers were very quick and extremely friendly. This is the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at thus far so I can't give it any less than 5 stars. Every single item tasted perfect regarding cook and flavor. My favorite dish was the tamarind prawns, if you go here do yourself a favor and order them! read more

One of the really good Thai places in the area! Been regular to-go Thai food for us and most of the time have enjoyed the food and last time ordered the Thai basil fried rice with chicken and cashew chicken and the latter we tried first time and it was nice and crisp. I frequently visit San Ramon for work. While I've built a rotation of usual favorites, I always try to branch out at least once during my trips. This time, I tried out Andaman Thai. I ordered the Panang Curry with chicken for takeout. The curry was so flavorful and delicious. It was filled with chicken and vegetables. They did not skimp at all on the ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed how heart warming it was and how perfectly rich and warming it was. The curry does not come with rice, so you do need to order this separately. Their online ordering system makes it very easy to order ahead. My order was ready quickly and I was able to get in and out immediately. read more

Had an excellent dinner here with a friend. We were seated right away at 5:45 on a Wednesday night. Service was excellent. The ambience was nice and there was plenty of seating indoors. Parking was easy to find. We both loved our appetizers and entrees. As far as I know and experienced, I don't think they have. I usually get shoulder pain when I have msg..nothing after that meal...
