The restaurant is very cute with Thai decorations. Service was good. I ordered the mixed vegetables with chicken and my sister had the red curry chicken. Lunch comes with rice and a side salad. We were both pleased with the size portion of the entrées. The flavors are definitely authentic Thai cuisine. We both enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. Omg the papaya was 10/10 Laos style, better than I expected! I got it spicy and it was perfect amount of salty and sour and stanky!!! Loved it! Also got the red curry! Neighbor restaurant that's favored by my family. This is my second time here and their dishes are delicious. Called to order pickup, rung for quite awhile and thus I was about to just walk in to order (as I was in the plaza running errands already... I didn't have time to dine in). SERVICE was rude AF. I walk in. The waitress gives a pissed off stink face and crosses her arms. She retrieves my take out order and throws it on the table. Then she proceeds to want to charge me "$17.82" (she literally presses this with force on the tablet in front of me) instead of $14.82 and I'm thinking WTF. I say "thank you" and she groans. I hope she's just having a bad day because if that's the vibe every day, I would stay far far far away from this establishment. I ordered the lunch portion of the chili bamboo basil with pork. Very sweet. Five pieces of stuck together pork; although the pork is very tender. Salad looks very fresh but slathered with ultra sweet dressing. I thought there were ants every where including on the salad but it was just black char marks. I hate how they tape and wrap the plastic bag (I appreciate it's to show it has not been tampered but I hate how you can't reuse the bag now). Modern Thai decor. Casual dining. Located within a plaza and therefore lots of parking to pick from. Will I come back? Delicious thai spot! Went here for a group lunch, and we were able to make reservations easily with a quick phone call. Good thing we did because when we arrived, it was so busy! Despite it being busy, the servers were very attentive and we got our food pretty quickly. - Asparagus curry with pork: Really creamy curry that had a mild spice kick and was loaded with veggies. I preferred this over the mango curry because I like more spicy flavors. - Yellow mango curry with chicken: Still very good and the mango pieces were super sweet/fresh! - Spicy catfish: Probably my favorite dish. Large chunks of fish that were still crispy despite being coated in a delicious sauce. - Eggplant basil with chicken: Good as well! Your typical eggplant basil which I love. - Honey grilled pork: Came with sticky rice which was good. I ordered for pickup. I kept seeing this spot near me and was interested as I'm a fan of Thai food. The text pickup window was pretty accurate, as when I got there right in the middle my food was already ready. The container looked deceptively small. I'm not sure if I was just really hungry or what, but it's a great size. I wouldn't have been able to finish it had it not been so tasty! My only issue, which wasn't too big of a deal, was that I got a text confirming my order had been placed, and then they send a follow up text when your order is ready. I did not get the "your order is ready" text until nearly two hours after I'd placed my initial order. In that time I had already picked up my order, driven home, eaten it, and started doing other things. All in all though, I loved the food, and I'm excited to go back and try more dishes! read more

Passable Thai Food in San Ramon. We stopped by earlier today evening after shopping nearby at Sports Basement for snow gear. We had to park a little further away than we are used to, as the few spots near the restaurant were either short duration or handicap accessible. We were seated right away and ordered drinks, a variety of appetizers, Tom Kha soup with tofu, and mango sticky rice for dessert. The food trickled in randomly, but we didn't mind as we were hungry. We all enjoyed different dishes - our tween and I preferred the chicken satay and roti with yellow curry, our teen enjoyed the samosa and tempura shrimp, the missus enjoyed the Crab Rangoon and the Tom Kha soup. The only dish we could all agree on was the mango with sticky rice, which NONE of us enjoyed! Service was just okay - they brought out Tom Yum soup instead of Tom Kha, but replaced it without a fuss. My bigger issue was that our check was brought out waaaay too early, while we were still finishing our food, and BEFORE the aforementioned dessert was served. On a Saturday afternoon, Thai Taste was relatively empty, maybe 20% of the tables were occupied. My husband and I got to pick our table! They have a lunch menu that is great value. I ordered the eggplant basil with tofu which was $14 and came with w bowl of white rice. It was a hefty portion. I even had enough to take leftovers home. It was flavorful and really tasty. There was a lot of eggplant and it was cooked well. My husband got the pad kee mao beef for $18 which he really enjoyed as well. It was a large portion that could have fed two people. The curry dumplings were tasty and I liked the combination of dumplings and curry which I had not tried before. My friend and I picked this place as it's half way between us. We came at 5pm and noticed that as the night went on, there were several times where people were waiting for tables, so this place is definitely popular! Things we ordered: *Pad thai - really good, definitely enjoyed this! *Pineapple fried rice - I personally didn't love it, though my friend did. Very surprising to find an authentic Thai restaurant in San Ramon. Kao Soy - I like how their kao soy is very soupy unlike other restaurants. But I would appreciate the dish more if the fried noodles were in smaller bite size pieces and it could use some green garish of cilantro / green onions. Both Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew were good. Finally decided to pop in a few months ago and their pad see ew has been a stable of my diet ever since. Like, inject those noodles straight into my veins please. All the rest of the food I've ever ordered from here has been pretty above standard as well. Really the only thing I dislike here is their Thai tea. Bit watery in my opinion but I can get over that, especially since the food is so good. Service and the atmosphere are both good as well. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had! The pad se ewe was amazing, the beef was super tender too. The thai basil (chicken) with rice had a kick to it 10/10. Normally , when I take out chicken yellow curry there is so much left over that I have to buy extra 2 orders of rice . It came with a small salad that looked good but the dressing just tasted off. I have had it here before and it was excellent but not today. The curry was good but just not great. Lately I have been craving for anything curry. Of course there are many variety of curry. In Thai cuisine there are many dishes with curry and more particularly for ethnic cuisine I have focused on kha Soi or Northern Curry Noodles. This place offer with beef or chicken. I had ordered the chicken. On the side a wedge of lemon, chopped red onions and pickled mustard greens. I squeezed the juice from lemon to kick off this dish then toss in the mustard greeds and onions and tried to mix well with everything on the bowl. As in most cases, all the good stuff sank to the bottom of the bowl The curry broth was sneaky, initially it tasted rather bland and gradually I was sweating from the slight spiciness. I can feel the sweat from the side of my face. The noodles accompanied the curry base very well as I ran out of the noodles quickly. Note the portion was good, not enormous by any imagination. As always there's a small serving of crispy noodles that usually easily get soggy. I was able to prevent it get soaked into broth before I ate most of the curry, despite the curry broth blandness I would have preferred a spicier version instead. Otherwise, it was a nice curry noodle soup. The dining room appeared to be served by two wait persons. They may have been overwhelmed by late lunch diners as service could have been more attentive. This was my second visit and found enjoyment in my food despite of my preferences. I will be back to try other dishes. read more
