Don't know why I never tried this place sooner. Nor did I know it was even here. Was here after a friend's wedding rehearsal. There was so much food to try from. I really enjoyed their tom yum soup and pad thai. I also liked their ginger fish. So flavorful. I had my self a Thai iced tea and it was refreshing. Walked in with my friends right after our pilates class. We were greeted by the most pleasant server, who said my friends and I made her miss her daughter. We asked her how many cream cheese rangoons were going to come to our table and she said it normally comes in 5, but she'd give us extra so everyone at my table could have an equal amount. The staff shared the news that it was their last day under this management, and you could tell they were quite busy handing something, maybe transition. I was sad to hear about the change, as I've enjoyed this place in the past. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite up to its usual standard- it was just 'okay' this time around. The restaurant was very quiet with only our group inside, and the air conditioning was set so low that it felt quite warm. It's sad to see a spot go through such a big transition. Druken noodles with beef: 4/5 Very flavorful dish and full of chunky veggies which is my preference. Only thing was the noodles were too wide and needed more beef. Noodles were about two inches wide so I had to cut lots of the noodles to consume. Overall I would get this dish again. Chicken Pad Thai: 3.75/5 Pad Thai was not dry and had everything in it but the flavor just wasn't fully there. The flavor was a smidge off but it was still a decent noodle dish. Beef Panang: 4.5/5 I must say the panang here is pretty good. Lots of big veggies and beef. The sauce was delicious and paired well with the rice. Beef was thin slices so some where tender and some were a bit tough. We enjoy panang more with stew beef than slices but overall we liked the panang here. It is located within a shopping area anchored by Lucky's grocery store and situated beside a drive through Starbuck. Arriving just before 2 pm, the dining room had one other diner. Lately I have been focused on trying Khao Soi at different Thai restaurants. Although this dish shares common ingredients, it is prepared differently. Here they include two good sized chicken thighs in their thick curry broth with noodles along with crispy ramen noodles on top. Though the hard noodle tasted a bit stale. I had requested the spice level to be mild, just a taste. I felt the curry broth was at a crossroad of being too salty with a hint of sweetness. I had finished it despite being too salty for my taste. Wait person was friendly but appeared rushed to get through the lunch shift. There is a 3% service fee for using credit card for the bill. Next door to SUBWAY DIARY Queen and Starbucks drive thru this place has tons and tons of parking. My husband, niece and I had a nice time at Cha the other night! We went in Thursday evening and got special service as the only ones dining in so that was unexpected! Grandma Mani, as we were instructed to call her, was so friendly, helpful and also hilarious! Food was pretty good with decent portions. The only thing that missed the mark was that they were out of most of the dessert options and Thai iced coffee. We made it work though! Throughout the time, there were many people that came in for pickup so this is def a very popular spot! Some of the BEST and Thai restaurants I've had the pleasure of eating at. We don't even live near San Ramon, but my wife discovered it and brought me here recently after her great experience. My top 3: the orange chicken is crispy as heck, I just love the crispiness and the tanginess of the dish. Grilled BBQ pork is simple and very flavorful marinate. Lastly the Thai style salad is a well portioned filled with nice chucks of steak mixed in with it. This is my second visit (seems like a monthly thing), the staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a kind of home feel, spacious and lastly the prices are very reasonable especially with how everything is going up in price. I should probably give this 3.5 stars. The wife was happier with her food than I was. Yes, we both got our standbys. Pad See Ew for her, Green Curry for me. Would have preferred eggplant, which is a common ingredient elsewhere. Still, green curry is like pizza for me. Even if I'm not crazy about it, I'll still eat it, and take home the leftovers. The vibe wasn't too classy, more like interchangeable with any other basic restaurant; when will we visit a place that actually plays Thai pop, rather than American top-40? Two house wines were on the menu, but they apparently discontinued it, or were out, despite the large number of glasses still behind the counter. Still, I could get a Sinha. Friendly service. I ordered the Thaiboat noodle soup. I don't think they mixed pork blood with the broth as I think most people would be intimidated by it. However, I think that's what makes the broth super rich and flavorful. It does have somewhat of a pho type of flavor due to that. The meat ratio was excellent. I felt pressured into eating healthy based on his decision so I ordered eggplant basil with pork. Lol I wouldn't say that the flavors of the dishes stood out compared with other Thai restaurants, but the dishes were pleasant enough. I would give them 3.5 out of 5 stars. What made this place great was the lady Money. Her personality and how she welcomed us made a difference. I almost finished my rice that came with eggplant basil, but I decided to stop and take the rest of my food home. She gave me a whole bowl of rice with it.
