Their Pad Thai is really good. Great portion and service was excellent. The Thai tea was a bit too sweet for me and the sweetness level cannot be changed but the waitress gave us extra ice and milk to dilute it. Overall, we were happy having our lunch there. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Always looking for a good Thai place. Their pineapple fried rice is EXCELLENT. Probably one of the best I've ever had. The chicken satay was good, not dry. Peanut sauce it came with was also good. The only thing I wasn't a fan of here was the Roti with curry. But that's ok cuz I'll still be back again for that pineapple fried rice. I still need to try the fresh spring rolls. Customer service was great. Next time I'll come for a sit down meal and enjoy it even more. read more

Their Drunken Noodles are Superbilicious. Just a hint of the Licorice hiding behind the Star Anise. Oh my! And their Red Curry is on par with Bangkok 101's Red Curry. Pathetic experience with To GO. Cheated us by not giving mushrooms , chestnut or baby corn in Veggie delight in spite of putting in menu. Upon requesting, they put the phone down disrespectfully. Also fried rice didn't have Tofu even though mentioned while placing order. Don't get To go as they use not knowing English as an excuse I demand partial refund for my order. We have been to some of the highly rated Thai spots out here and quite honestly they are garbage. Cha Thai is on another level. Their food is so good, absolutely fresh and flavorful. The roti with yellow curry could be a meal in itself. The quality of the food is so far above the rest and it isn't even close. Also, the staff are possibly the nicest people you will ever meet. Casual ambience and the food is great. I've been here several times and was never disappointed with our orders. Owner is friendly. Basil beef fried rice is very tasty. I was seriously craving some Thai food last week, and the last time I had Thai food was probably over a year ago. When I was dating my ex, he was all about Thai food which got me to become tired of it towards the end of our relationship. Anywho... so yes, I was craving Thai food, and I saw this place while I was driving to work. I checked on Yelp to see what their ratings are being the Yelper that I am! Hahaha... I was happy to see that they have good reviews so I ordered right as I got off of work by phone, and went there to pick up the takeout. The lady on the phone was very sweet and nice. I ordered an order of crab rangoons and Pad Thai w/ chicken. She asked me if I wanted the Pad Thai to be spicy or how spicy I want it, and I freaking love spicy so of course "yes!" Haha... I waiting til I get home to try the food so it did get a bit cold, but I just reheated it in the microwave. The crab rangoons were pretty good, but I definitely like my mom's more. The Pad Thai was so spicy and delicious! I loved it! The portion was a great size that I ended up saving a good bit for the following day. This is a nice small Thai restaurant located in the Gateway Centre Plaza on San Ramon Valley Blvd. @ Westside Dr., right off of the I-680 freeway. They're at the very southern end of San Ramon and just north of Dublin. They've opened recently in October of 2018, so they feel very new. I came in here on a Saturday evening, and they weren't crowded. They also have a few TV's in here, so it was nice to watch the Warriors game. We ordered the Thai Chow Mein and their Pad Thai. They were pretty good. Slightly sweet and not too salty. I came in here for dinner, whereas the amount felt more like a lunch portion. Their employees are very friendly and their service is very fast. If you have a short lunch break or want a quick sit-down meal, they're a good restaurant to go to. Next door to Starbucks so There's plenty of traffic. Might be hard to park if you're a new driver. Parking spaces are narrow. Interior: Nice and simple but the high tables & chairs in my opinion, makes the ceiling seems lower. Food: Green Curry with Beef is too watery and with very little meat. Pad Thai, the noodles sticks together and look bland, there wasn't any sprouts, peanuts, or additional garnish to make it look presentable. So, really nothing special. Located in the Lucky / Walgreens shopping center on Alcosta and SRV blvd. like most Thai restaurants it's a small space with a semi open kitchen. The laminated menu has your normal Thai favorites. We ordered the following: Spicy catfish 4 stars boneless catfish filet prepared with kra pow sauce Chicken Larb Salad 2 stars not a lot flavor dry ground chicken Shrimp Pad Thai noodles 4.5 stars nice QQ noodles Kra Pow beef 4 stars same sauce and veggies as the spicy catfish. Pumpkin Chicken Curry 4 stars small portions in a coconut based curry Service was just ok, had to ask for water and tea refills. There is a charge for tea by the cup. Plenty of parking in the busy shopping center. The food was and service was secondary to meeting new friends. $71 before tip. read more

Wow! I had the good fortune to walk by this place the very first day it opened. As part of their grand opening special they are offering 10% off your order the entire month. This restaurant is in the Lucky Center. Parking can be pretty busy at times since it's also next to a popular Starbucks. The people here were very friendly, especially "Bee." He explained the various orders and made several suggestions for me. Very helpful! I discovered this is a family-run business with a long history of running Thai restaurants. So they are not beginners at this! I ordered the drunken noodle dish with chicken for $12.95. It was actually only a few minutes before I had my order. It came steaming hot and was very tasty. I also ordered a small size Thai iced tea for $3.50. You can also place your order online. They do takeout orders as well. The portion was really large. Honestly you could actually share this with two people. Besides the classic Thai iced tea, they also have canned sodas, which appear to be Pepsi products. I did not see any Diet Coke, but maybe they have some. Keep in mind that they can prepare each Dish as mild medium or spicy. I selected the mild. It was still a little spicy so keep that in mind. If you are sensitive to hot items you might want to emphasize that to the server. All of their meals can also be prepared for vegetarian customers. The interior is pretty plain with a hard floor, tan wall with paneling, decorations. and religious icons. There is a bar counter area that has four stools. I thought the interior was pleasant, and well lit. There is the requisite large screen TV in front of the bar. I thought the music was too loud. So all in all, a very good experience. Cha Thai is a new addition to San Ramon, located in the same mall as Favorite Indian and i-Tea. As they are still in the Grand Opening phase, 10% off your order! The menu is pretty broad and has all the usual Thai curries, grilled items, noodle soups, rice dishes, desserts, and salads (Larb). The restaurant itself is pretty large and has lots of natural lighting in the day. Just seat yourself in the numbered tables and they'll bring out menus. For lunch I got the drunken chicken noodles, medium spicy. Even with medium spicy level, I get a strong one-two hit of sweet and spicy. I also liked how the dish was easy on the sauce and low on greasiness. Wished the portions were a bit bigger, but otherwise very tasty. (4 stars). Wife got the BBQ pork over rice. It came in four pretty thick pieces that fortunately were cooked and seasoned properly. The plum dipping sauce on the side was a nice addition. This is a good dish, though I am more used to thinner cuts of pork with grill marks and stronger lemongrass marinaded flavors. With thicker pork, its harder to get the same flavor intensity (3 stars). Overall 3.5 stars rounding up to 4. Friendly service and the good menu variety, so we'll likely come back to try their other offerings. read more

The food was hardly seasoned: it seems that the default setting is "mild" but even if you ask for bolder seasoning, like we did, you still get the "mild" version. And the basil in the basil fried rice was hardly noticeable. The spring rolls were rather sticky, on the outside, but falling apart otherwise. Papaya salad was overloaded with cabbage, carrots, and lettuce. And to boot the sugar in the dressing was coming through rather too obviously. On my own for dinner I decided to try somewhere new. The restaurant is in a strip mall next to Starbucks. It took over the space where Taco Bell used to be. At 5:30 pm there was plenty of parking spaces available. The restruant was clean and simply decorated. The staff was friendly when I walked in. I was given a 10% discount. I don't know why, maybe the gray hair I ordered drunken noodles with shrimp. I asked for mild. It took about 10 minutes to get my order. The food that came out to other tables looked good. I wish they would have offered me water while I waited. The dish was still hot when I got home. It was not as mild as I had hoped. My lips burned and I needed water between bites. There were only 5 shrimp in the dish. They were small and had been cooked before they were put into the dish. The shrimp were tough and did not taste fresh. The fun noodles were cooked well as were the red bell pepper, onion, tomatoes and carrots. I would give 3 & 1/2 stars but since it was new gave them the benefit to let them work out the bugs. The drunken noodles and green curry was bomb! I only got one of each for a party of 2 and it was super flavorful. We brought home the left overs and it was finished by 2 other people so essentially one plate of each fed 4. What was even better was the service! The sweet older (Moni? Grandma Verna? older lady with red glasses. sorry couldnt hear over the music) gave us excellent service. She made us laugh, got us our food really quick and packaged everything away so gently and nicely. I was having a rough day and she definitely brightened it up. I would go here again read more

The two guys there really took pride in what they were serving and made sure you ordered what you'd enjoy like I was going to order drunken noodles but was going to ask for not spicy. Well that dish is spicy and that's the spul of that dish so instead he said try the Pad See Ew which I wouldn't have but did here. Dang that was good. The nice gesture was we were a large party and they honored happy hour for us all even those that came a bit after the scheduled time. So we all got to eat some appetizers then ordered our entrees. That was cool of them. One of us was vegan and they were nice to accommodate the dish for her. Portions were well sized. Met my good friend for lunch at this restaurant. The location had ample parking and is right next to Starbucks and a Boba tea place. My friend and I ordered Basil with Eggplant with Tofu and one with chicken. Both were delicious. We also ordered fried spring rolls, calamari and rotti with yellow curry sauce and they were delicious as well. The restaurant is clean and the woman who works there is really nice. Came in and ordered the Chicken Basil-Pad Kra pow to go for lunch. It took about 10 minutes before I was on my way. Got back to my office and was glad to see that they had packed the rice and entrée separately, so it didn't get soggy. The dish came with your choice of protein stir fried with bamboo shoots, onions, zucchini, green beans, bell peppers, fresh basil and garlic. I chose the "mild" spice level since it was my first time ordering from there but maybe I should have gone "medium" - I couldn't taste any spice at all, in fact it was fairly sweet albeit a little oily. I liked all the veggies, but the zucchini was cut into big chunks and I think it would have been better and easier to eat if they were sliced thin like the carrots. Overall, it wasn't bad but also wasn't great. I'd like to go back and try other dishes but will eat there and definitely up the spice level. read more
