What a great find in San Ramon! Peking Delight in the Gateway Centre Shopping Center, offers an extensive menu with 100's of items. I was there on a Friday, at around 5pm. It's not a large place, it has 7 4-seat tables and 2 large round tables. Service was prompt and quick, even as the place filled up for dinner time. Now, my favorite chinese comfort food is Won Ton Soup. Peking Delight has EIGHT different types of Won Ton Soups. Including three soups you seldom find in Chinese restaurants anymore. I ordered: - Duck Yee Won Ton Soup, $16.00 - Eggrolls, 4/ $6.50 First off, the eggrolls were fresh.....as in not mushy inside. The outer wrapper was golden brown and crisp. The filling was crunchy. Pour the sweet 'n sour sauce over them, and those eggrolls were near perfect. Nice price at $6.50 an order. Duck Yee Won Ton Soup - I haven't enjoyed this soup in decades. If you ever want to try something different, try Yee Won Ton Soups. You seldom see these won ton soups in restaurants. What is Duck Yee Won Ton Soup? It's deep fried won ton dumplings in a dark savory broth. Then they add lots of pieces of boneless roast duck, with the skin and fat still on. Peking Delight added some veggies and some strips of beef. The fried won tons soak up the flavor in the broth, and create a rich and flavorful soup. For me this soup was a meal. It had 9-10 dumplings. The soup didn't quite have that distinctive flavor that I remember from San Francisco Chinatown, but it was a good hearty won ton soup. Peking Delight was anything but delightful. We sat down and never even got basic water service, which already made the whole meal feel careless. Several of the dishes tasted like they skipped every seasoning in the kitchen -- just flat, dull, and forgettable. What really pushed it over the edge was the server repeatedly hinting for a tip despite the lackluster service. It felt awkward and unprofessional, especially when the basics weren't even handled. Delicious Chinese food in the Bay Area! One of our favorite places to go for a good deal as well. They have a menu that is 3 items for $44 plus a choice of corn chicken, hot and sour, or west lake beef soup. My family love taking advantage of the deal and we add in an order of the bbq pork fried rice. We ordered Peking spareribs, salt and pepper fish, beef and peppers with special sauce, scrambled egg with shrimp, and bbq pork fried rice. Everything tasted really good with good flavor. The Chinese food here is delicious and the service is always good as well. They are much better to go to for lunch though as thats when stuff is cheaper as it tends to cost more around dinner time. No matter when you go the place maybe busy though but not horrible. Thankfully its not too noisy no matter when you go, but it is worth checking out. This is one of my friend's favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. It's standard fare for suburban Chinese American restaurant. My usual order includes Peking spare ribs lunch special with steam rice, fried wonton skin strips and hot and sour soup. The soup was very peppery, warm and tart that is usually expected. My lunch special maybe a case of too much of a good thing. The spare ribs were plenty and should use a knife to cut to bite size pieces. The coating was akin to sweet and sour sauce that was expected, nothing out of the ordinary. However the wonton strips, maybe their diners' favorite was a reminder of years past. Overall fine meal. Food is tasty and a larger quality portion compared to other Chinese food places in the area . The beef chow fun has the perfect texture and the beef tender with wok hay. I have mixed feelings about this place . I walked in and wasn't greeted. Stood for a minute and simply held up my finger indicating for one. I sat down and was asked what I would like to drink. I said water and the server says, "We don't have lemon." I told him I didn't ask for lemon. I ordered my food and a bit later he Just dropped the food and left. I wasn't checked on during my entire lunch. No is everything ok, can I get you anything else, or refill of my water that stayed empty pretty much the entire time. The place is small and kind of ran down on the inside. The seating is tight. There was one larger round table covered in green beans. I guess they were sorting them and we were just kinda eating around them. Here's where the mixed feelings come in. The food was awesome. I ordered vegetable fried rice that was fresh, not too much soy sauce. It had water chestnuts which was a little different but nevertheless yummy. I highly recommend if you're vegetarian. I also got the salt and pepper tofu. The bean curd was sooooo good. I added a little chili oil(I had to flag someone down and ask for) which was a delicious touch. Had a craving for the rock cod clay pot, so we hit the road to Peking Delight. We went with the 3 item special, including the rock code clay pot, the eggplant with the spicy garlic sauce, and the salt and pep[per prawns. We started with Westlake minced beef soup. All dishes were good. The salt and pepper prawns stood out because the prawns were good sized and the lightest of coating. Some places basically cover prawns with a batter coating, but the Peking Delight version was super light. Still our favorite Cantonese restaurant. Eight of family went there for Sunday lunch. Which was great , because we could have more variety of entrees. All dishes were prepared tastefully. I came here with a friend for lunch. I was craving beef stew chow fun. Not too places serve that, and I was told that Peking Delight has it, so I figured I'll give it a try. My friend got the steamed meat pie with pickled veggies with rice. I got the beef stew chow fun. Both dishes were good and the taste was authentic. The wait staff was quick to take our order. Our food came out quickly, The restaurant was clean, and had a decent lunch crowd. I go to that shopping center regularly but never thought to try eating there, and I'm glad I did. After Three Brothers in San Ramon closed down, I was looking for a place with authentic Chinese food. I liked what I had and am looking forward to trying more from their menu. read more

Parking Delight has been around for years! There's a reason why this place is still popular after all these years, and having survived covid and rising food prices. They've maintained quality dishes at decent prices to date.. their dinner special, in particular, serves 3 dishes + 1 soup for an unbelievable price of only $39.95! Where can you find that these days!?? To to orders are non stop at this place. Their seating is roomy and clean, and service is friendly and efficient. Their dishes are generously portioned and always tasty. The biggest perk about this place is the consistency in quality of food and decent portion size. We order from the three item menu which feeds a whole family and is reasonably priced. I really want to give them 4 stars because I base stars mostly on the quality of food and if I "crave it" once I've left. I am definitely craving the dish I had. More on that in a sec... There's no way around it, it's a bit a of hole in the wall, no offense. That said it was clean and I liked the paper placemats. That tells me my spot is clean. Restaurants that wipe tables with a wet rag are not really sanitizing tables, but I felt this was a good way to it. My hubby had the schezwan shrimp and it was delicious! I snuck a bite while waiting for mine. He and my mother-in-law got their lunches well before mine came out. They were a little upset but I told them to eat it while's it hot, and I was fine waiting. I ordered the schezwan beef. So glad we ate there because I do not think this dish would have been the same if we ordered take out. There is such a small window of time before this dish gets cold and slightly soggy. A dish best eaten immediately. Yum yum yum. I was charging my car nearby and decided to look for a place to eat and came across Peking Delight. Originally, I was going to order the 3 dish special they had as it was priced pretty well. There were definitely some dishes I wanted to try but my friend noticed they had a lunch special that was available during the weekend which was great and perfect portions rather than ordering a whole family meal for two people. I had the Mongolian beef with bbq pork fried rice & my friend had the prawns with garlic sauce over steamed rice. Both came with a hot and sour soup and fried wonton appetizer. Portions were pretty big and came out fast, however the food was just okay. My fried rice tasted dry. The sweet and sour dish was soft instead of crispy, the chow mein was bland and mediocre at best, and overall the flavors were just "bleh." What really ruined the experience, though, was the customer service. The lady taking orders was extremely rude -- no greeting, no eye contact, no effort to make us feel welcome. It felt like we were bothering her just by being there. For families like mine, eating out is a treat because of how expensive things are these days, and it's disappointing to spend money on a place that doesn't value its customers at all. I feel this is more "old school" Cantonese food than elevated (aka pricey) Chinese. I've ordered take out where I've gotten a fried rice, a meat dish and a vegetable and felt like the generous portions kept me fed for days. Today though I went in for some won ton soup. Koi Palace Express's wonton has the giant piece of shrimp. You won't find that here, rather it's the pork mixture with balanced taste. I love duck and got duck won ton. My experience at Koi was maybe 5 pieces of duck that was as much skin as meat. Peking Delight's was a bowl filled with wonton and then topped with a drumstick plus multiple pieces (7 or maybe even more) of meaty duck. Bonus ... the drumstick and a couple pieces were not fully submerged in the soup and the skin ... OMG was so so crispy. Heaven! No pictures as I went to gobble up that delectable yummy duck before it could sink. I could have taken a picture after those initial pieces as was still very generous but wouldn't have done it justice. I don't know if it's always like that or if I lucked out. Will go again when in the mood for duck or won tons. Restaurant wasn't full but they also had quite a few take out orders either with folks coming in or calling in. read more

They're telling me the restaurants close and I need to hurry up meanwhile I'm eating as fast as I can almost choking on the food because I'm not fully chewing it and the lady tells me I need to leave at 3:24 and she said she's been waiting for 30 minutes for me to leave.
