imperial delight has standout chinese food, like orange chicken, fried rice and soups. i ordered their egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken dish the egg rolls are crispy and good, but they are elevated with the sauce. sweet and sour hit the spot perfectly!

My friends and I came in around 6:30pm for dinner, it was pretty empty. Most people got take out and food to go. We were pretty much the only ones in the restaurant until toward the end. I got the seafood combo clay pot, it was ok. My friend got snow peas chicken and another friend got tofu vegetables dish and vegetables fried rice. The dishes were ok. We are thankful we were able to stay in the restaurant two hours and a half as my friends and I haven't seen each other for quite some time and had lots to catch-up for quite a bit without having to worry about giving up our table. If you are looking for a place to eat for awhile without having to give up your table as soon as you are finished eating on a weekday night, this is a good option. Food is ok. My friend said the tofu vegetable dish could have more flavor.

Look at this sweet and sour pork doesn't that look delicious just a look of it makes your mouth water

Inside the Marketplace Shopping Center. Imperial Delight serves up traditional Chinese cuisine in a pleasant environment. Portions were good and so were the food. Menu is pretty large but I suggest always trying something from their specialty selections.

4/5 I was impressed by the interior first of all. It was very up to date, clean and ambiance was great. Plenty of seats. Kinda close to one another but I took the window table looking out towards Cold stone creamery. I came here around 2:30 pm on a Tuesday. No rush. I got seated right away and was handed a paper menu and I just went with my usual . The Kung Pao combo was just right but just had one problem . They didn't have the dried out reddish/ black peppers they usually have but they did have the peanuts. They Chinese restaurant gives you an option for pork fried rice along with the hot and sour soup. And last but not least they give crispy fried won tons with sweet and sour drizzled on them (2) I loved the taste and the crunch . The main entree was the usually taste , it was say average maybe because I order too often because it didn't have that wow factor . I definitely will order another dish next time I have Chinese. Service is friendly I paid credit card, no fortune cookie which was a little disappointing but they put my leftovers in and boxed it for me and it was convenient and nice for them to do. They deliver within a 3 mile radius which is about their location to the Bishop ranch area I'd guess. Menu is real large, plenty of parking being next to Trader Joe's. The location is good and excellent have a decent Chinese place nearby .

Flank steak: didnt taste much orange, chewy texture with a little crisp. They gave you a lot but makes sense for the price. The only dish we couldnt finish cause so much. 5:5 Soup: first thing that was served, was delicious, little beef tripe and crab meat chunks surprisingly synergized well. Very flavorful. Might be a little too salty. As a starter- 5/5 Black pepper fish: sizzling, soft fish filets, grilled onions, moist and saucy. You can never go wrong 5/5 Twice cook pork: basically a stewed braised pork. Super fall of the bone melt in your mouth texture. Goes great with rice. But is less in quantity than others so 4/5 Fried rice: too salty. Would be a good dish on its own though. The way we ate it though was with other foods so the salt was too high. Based on my experience- 4/5 Pork chop: one of the first ones served, we finished it up very quickly. Lots of bone in the way, but the meat that you do get is tasty. 5/5 Extra All in all, salt overload Every food was delicious They were all the same price (12.50$) besides the flank steak Our waiter spoke very calm and politely Fork came wrapped in napkin You should get plain rice 4/5 every food tasted great, just a little too salty

A welcoming attentive staff and delicious Chinese food! I met up with a friend for lunch and we ordered the three dish special for $13.50 per dish so that we could eat family style. You are also able to order individual meals from their lunch special menu. Green beans with shrimp was good as well as the beef chow mein. Pictured here is the tofu with ground pork. Five stars as it was all good and worth the visit!

Imperial Delight is a longstanding Chinese restaurant in the Marketplace Shopping Center, right across the street from THE LOT and San Ramon City Hall. Eight of us came here for dinner on 02/27/2023. The place wasn't too busy when we walked in at around 6:30 pm. The staff welcomed us immediately, and we were seated at a large round table in the middle of the room. The interior was clean and bright. I didn't pay much attention to the decor since I was busy catching up with my friends. Tea and menus were quickly brought to us. They have both a regular menu and a 3-dish Chinese menu ($11.75 per dish). We decided to order a dozen or so dishes off of both. Below is what we got. West Lake Beef Soup - It had a good amount of chopped beef and some real crab meat in it. Taste was a bit bland. Steamed Half Fish - More like steamed fish fillet. Taste was okay but I thought we were getting real fish instead of fillet. Beef Stew Tofu Claypot - Not good. Lots of fried tofu cubes but not much beef. The beef was dry and chewy. Taste was meh. Tomato Beef Scrambled Eggs - Pretty good. It had a nice balanced taste. Beef was tender. Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish - I thought it was a cold dish but instead it was a stir-fry. It was okay tasting. Could have used a bit more seasoning. Salt and Pepper Pork Chop - The taste was on point, but a couple pieces were excessively fatty. Peking Sauce Pork Chop - See Salt and Pepper Pork Chop description. Chinese Greens in Chicken Broth - The yu choy was fresh and tender. The shredded pork and sliced shiitake mushrooms added substance and taste to the dish. Home Style Tofu - Not good. Tofu was super dry. Shrimp in Maggi Sauce - Fried shrimp tossed in Maggi sauce. Maggi sauce is basically a concoction of MSG and edible chemicals. Not worth the price in my opinion. Should have gotten the salt and pepper version instead. Sizzling Black Pepper Beef - Easily one of the better dishes of the evening. Came out sizzling hot. It was tasty and the beef was tender. Fish Fillet and Tofu Claypot - Decent. Oyster sauce and soy were the main ingredients of the sauce. Fish was mild and flaky, and the pieces of fried tofu were nice. Dried Scallop and Egg White Fried Rice - Pretty good. The taste was on point and the rice grains weren't clumped together (sorry I forgot to take a picture of this dish). The portions were moderate. Service we received was excellent. The servers were all very friendly and attentive. The total, with T/T, was close to $240. Considering the quality of the food, service, and price point, this place is an alright option based on the area it's located in. 3.5 stars rounding up to 4. BONUS MATERIAL: - Ample parking on site. - Banquet menu available.

Always good food here. I've never had a bad experience over the last 15 years going here. My fav is the imperial crispy beef. Can't go wrong with it. Everything here is good, the place is clean and the food comes fast. Staff is friendly and parking is abundant

Dining room looks very upscale for a mom and pop operation. Staff is very gracious and accommodating. I was there for a late lunch once. Watched a family of 5 walk in wanting to sit down and order. The restaurant was technically closed for a staff lunch and reset for dinner. The front door was unlocked only to let stragglers like me and another table out after finishing our meal. The server was nice and let the family stay. Great customer service isn't the only reason for the 4 stars. AW has amazing value lunch deals. Love the simple stirfries best. Healthy but tasty. Lots of quality veggies. Highly enjoyed the veggie and shrimp stirfry. The string bean beef is also yummy. My sister thinks their hot and sour soup is great. I love the crunchy woodear mushrooms while she likes the flavor. We both appreciate the kitchen not skimping on the tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. Not everything is a favorite tho. Tried the mushu for takeout once. Didn't enjoy AZ's version. Also didn't enjoy their veggie eggrolls. Wrapper was good and crispy but veggie filling was oddly mushy. Happy to find Amazing Wok as our regular neighborhood place closed recently. AW is a few miles further but it is now our "go to" Chinese American restaurant. Will gladly return to explore the extensive menu.

What a great find in San Ramon!…read more Peking Delight in the Gateway Centre Shopping Center, offers an extensive menu with 100's of items. I was there on a Friday, at around 5pm. It's not a large place, it has 7 4-seat tables and 2 large round tables. Service was prompt and quick, even as the place filled up for dinner time. Now, my favorite chinese comfort food is Won Ton Soup. Peking Delight has EIGHT different types of Won Ton Soups. Including three soups you seldom find in Chinese restaurants anymore. I ordered: - Duck Yee Won Ton Soup, $16.00 - Eggrolls, 4/ $6.50 First off, the eggrolls were fresh.....as in not mushy inside. The outer wrapper was golden brown and crisp. The filling was crunchy. Pour the sweet 'n sour sauce over them, and those eggrolls were near perfect. Nice price at $6.50 an order. Duck Yee Won Ton Soup - I haven't enjoyed this soup in decades. If you ever want to try something different, try Yee Won Ton Soups. You seldom see these won ton soups in restaurants. What is Duck Yee Won Ton Soup? It's deep fried won ton dumplings in a dark savory broth. Then they add lots of pieces of boneless roast duck, with the skin and fat still on. Peking Delight added some veggies and some strips of beef. The fried won tons soak up the flavor in the broth, and create a rich and flavorful soup. For me this soup was a meal. It had 9-10 dumplings. The soup didn't quite have that distinctive flavor that I remember from San Francisco Chinatown, but it was a good hearty won ton soup. Serving wise, it's enough for two people. I would definitely return. Free parking in lot. Gateway Centre is at San Ramon Blvd x Alcosta Blvd, right next to I-680.

Peking Delight was anything but delightful. We sat down and never even got basic water service,…read morewhich already made the whole meal feel careless. Several of the dishes tasted like they skipped every seasoning in the kitchen -- just flat, dull, and forgettable. What really pushed it over the edge was the server repeatedly hinting for a tip despite the lackluster service. It felt awkward and unprofessional, especially when the basics weren't even handled. Definitely not a place I'd return to. There are far better spots that actually care about their customers.
