Let me just start by saying we moved to san ramon a little over a year ago and have been looking for our next favorite sushi spot. I think we may have found it! First off, the quality and the size of the roles were fantastic! The sushi was delicious and super fresh. My wife's salmon Kama was so tender and melted in your mouth. Secondly, the prices were very reasonable and affordable. Especially for sushi! The service was super attentive. Even as they got busier while we were there. Located in the same shopping center as Safeway, and an abundance of other drink and food places (several right next to it in this corner alone), you will find Senro Sushi. Just to note, there's at least two other sushi places around here, with one across the street and one just down the street in the shopping center next to this one, there' no shortages of sushi spots here. However, with Senro Sushi, if you want affordability it's probably one of the more affordable ones out of all 3 in this area. The place itself is pretty big, with lots of seating inside and very spacious all around with a pretty massive sushi bar area. They are staffed well overall, as even when you go in the morning there's usually a couple of servers at least, and several sushi chefs behind the sushi bar counter area, prepping fish, cutting, making sushi and etc. The service here is pretty good overall. Haven't had any issues. The menu here is, pretty big. They have a bit of everything that's not just sushi options of course. I've tried several things here already, so let me just go through each thing. The lunch bento is probably the best bang for your buck here. Compared to the other sushi spots, you won't be able to find one as cheap as them, and the amount of stuff you get here with it is pretty good too. This bento box does come with miso soup and also a tasty salad (dressing is yummers). You will also get a California Roll with it, which is amazing because their California here is actually quite tasty. One of the better ones hands down. You have the option to choose two other things from the menu (if you choose to go with 2 items), and decide what you want. I've tried the chicken teriyaki, the chicken katsu, and the tempura. All have been good. Hands down what you should get if you're here at that time on a weekday. The Agadashi tofu was just okay. Wasn't terrible, but felt their dashi was really bland, and the tofu itself wasn't fried that well. It needs to be more crisp to avoid it just falling apart when moist. Also, the batter they used just didn't have any flavor to it at all. It was okay. The sushi roll we got was yum. I don't really have much else to say about it other than that it was good. The fish was fresh, the spicy fish was good, and the sauces blended well. Good. The chicken egg don was not great. We had actually mistakenly ordered this instead of the katsudon, and this was just awful. The chicken didn't feel well cooked, the broccoli was just straight steamed with no sauce on it. The egg was overcooked, and not even remotely fluffy for what this is supposed to be. Just overall not at all what I had expected. Overall, Senro is a great spot for affordable sushi options in this area in San Ramon. While it's not going to offer anything super flashy, which the sushi spot in the shopping center across the street may offer, it's also going to be much less of a bill here when all said and done. The bento boxes are hands down the best option here for those here on a weekday lunch. The sushi rolls here are also great. Some of the other stuff we had were just, okay, but overall, was a nice experience here right near the Crow Canyon freeway exit. read more

This restaurant is located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. Inside is well decorated and clean. Service was friendly and fast. Super cute sushi spot. The menu has so many options, including vegetarian ones. And the prices are all super fair. Went here on a quick date night and I got the bento box, which came with so much food at such a good price! They give you a small california roll, plus have other rolls as options to go with the bento. Most Bento boxes I see only have 1 or two roll options and they are usually small. I got two full rolls with this one, including a shrimp tempura roll that was delicious! My partner got a couple special rolls and shared some of my bento. He also enjoyed their half price beer! We got a bunch of yummy food at a reasonable price, and the service was great! We will be coming back here again. read more

Senro is one of the few local gems that we love to frequent both in-person and order takeout from. We LOVE their negihama roll and sometimes just order a couple of those for a quick meal. Another go-to is the sushi combo with 7 chefs choice nigiri and a roll (we gladly pay the extra $1 to upgrade the CA roll to a negihama roll). Senro's nigiris are well portioned and taste very fresh. Their bluefin tuna, sea bream, and albacore are too good. And we love getting the sushi boat with friends! 5 stars for our favorite local sushi restaurant! read more

yum! came here for lunch for the first time with a couple coworkers the other day. It's a pretty cool/chill spot and the sushi was good. We were starving, so I didn't take any pics. 49ers roll was refreshing (would order again, Lion King roll was delicious (would order again), Lobster delight was meh (won't order this again. Green tea yum, green tea ice cream was meh. Total came out to $67 which is a good price for the area. Settled the bill with an even $80 because Service was excellent and consistent on the water and tea refills. Definitely adding this to my lunch list. read more

Come in for a tonkotsu ramen in a cold cloudy day, it was very good and the service is great and informative that explained the difference between the ramens that they have. But the bottom line is, twice now I've walked in the door for lunch before their 2:30 PM closing time and they've told me they can only do takeout. The first time I gave them a break over a year ago and now I'm done. If I rush to get there And arrive at 2:28 and they're closing time is 230 then I expect to be served. Located off the Crow Canyon exit near Safeway. Plenty of parking. We had no wait at 6:30 pm on a Friday. Our waiter was efficient and on the ball. We didn't have to ask for water refills. For $21.95 I ordered the two piece combination meal. Miso soup, salad, and 4 California Rolls were the starters. Dinner was a full piece of Tonkatsu and 8 pieces of Spicy Tuna. I waited till the day after to write my review. The raw fish was delicious and I didn't not get sick. The Tonkatsu was moist and the batter was not greasy. It was my birthday and they gave me a complimentary Green tea ice cream scoop with Fried Bananas which my girlfriends and I shared. Popped in spontaneously after a mani/pedi next door even after ready the mixed reviews to try it out for ourselves. when we entered, the restaurant was empty for what I would imagine would be a busy lunch hour on a Saturday (1pm). Both my fiancé and I ordered bento boxes. He ordered fish (can't remember the name) and salmon and I ordered chicken teriyaki and gyoza. The miso that came with it was ok. I read a review that said the miso was sweet and I got the same after taste as well that the miso was sweet. My chicken teriyaki was unfortunately bland and BURNT all over so I had to soak it in the little amount of teriyaki sauce that was given but all I could taste are the burnt sides. Unfortunately the gyoza was also overcooked so the sides were very hard. My fiancés bento was ok. He said the salmon teriyaki was good. The other fish was also very burnt and overcooked. We wanted to give this place a shot but unfortunately all the low reviews checks out. With the little interaction we got, the staff was nice though. read more

Originally, we intended to visit Yayume Sushi for lunch, but they were closed. So, we found Senro Sushi close by and open. We walked in, and were greeted by a very friendly staff. We also loved that they spoke to us in Cantonese. Looking around, the restaurant is clean. It is so clean that even when I wipe down the tables which I normally do with Hizer, the wipes remained clean to the naked eye. This restaurant gets five stars for being sanitized without an overwhelming chemical smell. As for the food, we all ordered bento boxes. This will only be for my Bento box. I ordered a two item Bento box with saba shioyaki and salmon sashimi. The Bento box came with a side salad, edamame and miso soup. I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side for the side salad. I have to remember that next time. The miso soup was too sweet for me. I usually like a little more fermented taste to the miso soup. The saba shioyaki was a little overcooked and had a little too many bones for my taste. However, the salmon sashimi was on point today! I want to visit again, and try the exact same meal, but remember to leave the salad dressing on the side. read more

This place hasn't changed at all since the last time we came in. We came in on a Thursday and there were already plenty of groups seated but still not too loud. The restaurant isn't super large but seemed just right to us. It is in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. Our server was great coming by and bringing the rolls as they were made and refilling the drinks. I thought the food was good. The one roll we order each time is the Ecstacy roll. Everyone loves this roll because every piece is different from the next. Another favorite is either the Orange Blossom or the Cherry Blossom. They're both equally good rolls but most of the time we order the Orange Blossom. This is basically our family's favorite sushi spot. First time here for weekday lunch. Wow, can't beat their bento lunch special for $15. (Two items) and include california roll, rice, salad and soup. I had the chicken katsu (6 or 7 sliced pieces) and 5 or 6 veg tempura pieces. All veg, don't remember any shrimp but I was good with this given the price point. Both were great and the box lunch portions were enough for a second lunch. Did I mention the California roll? That was pretty good too. Service was great and we were lucky to be seated at one of the booths that surrounded the room. Restaurant is medium size and located in a strip mall that houses a Safeway, CVS and other eateries. Here's the verdict: Chirashi (5/5) - there were an assortment of tuna, sashimi, shrimp and egg. There was possibly hamachi but I couldn't tell in the car if it was. Everything was delicious with a huge portion of rice. I got pretty full so I only ate the rest of the sashimi, so I had plenty of rice leftover.
