July 2025 Great location in downtown Danville Kid friendly Little pricey but Japanese food is generally pricier Our hostesses seated us promptly with menus We ordered 3 rolls and ramen to share for the kids - hostess also provided inputs on portion sizes which was great to see The edamame was good, Sake was fun and the rolls were tasty If you are in Danville and looking for sushi - definitely give this place a try Rolls feedback - they could be a little smaller in size

Dinner

Here is $185 worth of sushi. And no $0.35 chopsticks. Seriously, it's getting insane that sushi for 2 - 3 people is $75 per person for weak sauce delivery. Wow me please!!!

Ahi Tartare

First big thumbs up- Open on Christmas Eve!! Second is they had Miso Sea Bass (the wife loves it). miso soup was nice and rich and full of tofu and nori! Sushi roll was yummy!! The Ahi Tartare had a nice smoked flavor Pork Katsu was delicious Service was very attentive. Mochi frozen bits topped off a yummy dinner! They have the seats covered with Santa Hats... very festive

Had a wonderful lunch here today with friends. Lunch combos are delicious with tons of options. Soup and salad included in lunch. Food was fresh with generous portions. Services were also very good

This is one of my favorite Sushi Bars in town. The fish is so fresh and never old. The food is prepared very well, very professional, great presentation, and ALWAYS fresh. The have inside seating as well as outdoor patio. They have a sushi bar as well for indoor seating. Akira has a full bar and of course a fine Saki menu. Some of my favorite things on the menu would have to be: The 49er roll The Cherry Blossom roll The Spider Roll The Lion King Roll Shashi Gyoza Shrimp Fried Rice The have a variety of options on their menu, not only sushi, but noodles, and different types of rice, and selective meat choices. I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening, sushi with the family, or grabbing one of their lunch Bento Boxes while working. The waitresses are very welcoming and they are great with take out orders! The ambiance is fun and very family oriented! The have a full bar with Saki of course , and it's a downtown Danville favorite !

Happy Hour Menu (Mon - Thurs) 4-6pm

The servers are all super friendly! Food sometimes is hit or miss. The place is located at one of the crossroads of the iron horse and a nice stroll if you choose you want some steps before or after dinner. I have been going here for a while and didn't realize that there was a happy hour menu for Mon - Thurs from 4-6pm. It was a nice surprise when we got there early one day.

Been coming here almost regularly once a week for the last three weeks or so. Probably now one of my most favorite Japanese restaurants. They have an extensive menu but on top of that, the portions are big. Like the price may be a bit high but with the amount of food they give you, it makes sense. The photos are from multiple outings but my favorite roll has to be their Lion King roll. Outside of that the Saba Shioyaki has to be one of my favorites. It's so good. Also, their service is amazing. The waitresses and waiters are all super nice and incredible. Please be patient when things get busy but on the off hours, they're super friendly. The inside ambiance is your average restaurant. Not too loud, not too quiet. However, fair warning if you're seated outside, passing vehicles and motorcyclists may get really loud. I just tend to prefer sitting inside. But definitely check out this place, I love it.

So, this review is all about the food since we ordered takeout. My 4-year-old had been pestering me for sushi for weeks, but we couldn't find a good spot in the area. Then I stumbled upon Akira, and their rolls looked promisingly similar to our favorite spot in San Ramon before it closed down. So, we decided to give it a shot and ordered three rolls. Overall, not bad. Two out of the three were really tasty. The lion king roll stood out with its flavorful unagi sauce and fresh salmon topped with roe--it hit the spot. My personal favorite was the Danville roll--it had a satisfying crunch on the outside and a delicious mix of spicy tuna, avocado, and shrimp inside. They added a touch of mayo on the outside, giving it a sweet and spicy kick. Although, next time, I'd ask them to hold the mayo, as we wanted one roll that was purely spicy. This roll reminded me of a spinach tuna tempura roll. Our least favorite roll / the Flaming Dragon. It wasn't bad by any means but it just had way too much cucumber so that overpowered the taste of everything else. Considering they survived a 15-minute drive from the restaurant to our home, these rolls held up pretty well. Next time, though, we'll definitely dine in to enjoy them fresh!

Akira is phenomenal. It's very beautiful inside and service is so great, they're very attentive and never let an empty plate sit on the table. Highly recommend the garlic edamame and teryaki salmon, I love coming for lunch and getting a bento box. The only downside is that I live about 35 minutes away so I can't come as much as I want!

Friendly staff. So we walk in after walking around downtown mountain view which street is close off for blocks so very kid safe. Parking around this restaurant was very easy on a Sunday afternoon. We got 3 dishes for $45 plus steam rice. Ok the clay pot beef and salt and pepper spare ribs were delicious. The shrimp and vegetables dish was Ok. Maybe if it had some heat to it. ( spicier)

Food is good but places that use lots of sauces are not my favorites. Service was excellent and ambiance is normal.

Located under the shaded Town and Country Shopping Center in Danville, Canyon Club Brewery is a…read morecasual spot for a relaxed meal. The service was friendly and super quick--our entire order came out just minutes after ordering via QR code. My favorite item was the Brewery Platter, a beautifully-presented sampler of German-inspired appetizers, including three warm pretzels, candied bacon, bratwurst, crispy potato pancakes, and candied pepitas, along with spicy mustard, curry ketchup, beer cheese, and pickles. My favorite part of this platter was the warm, chewy pretzels eaten along with the thick, creamy beer cheese, but everything was delicious in its own way! Another highlight was the curry ketchup, which had such a unique combination of tomato flavor with spices. For our mains, the Heirloom Tomato Salad came with mixed greens, feta, and heirloom & cherry tomatoes, along with a balsamic dressing. We also added a Wagyu Beef Patty, which was nicely grilled but on the dry side. The Fried Chicken Sandwich came with a breaded chicken breast, citrus slaw, red onion marmalade, and sauce on a soft bun; and the Fried Fish Sandwich was a similar creation but made with beer battered rock cod. The mains were decent though nothing spectacular. Overall, however, this was a nice, casual brewery for its calm, shaded atmosphere and tasty eats.

Food: 4 star! The wedge salad was fresh and enjoyable, though it could have used a more generous…read moreportion of blue cheese and crispier bacon to make the flavors stand out. The fish and chips were excellent--the batter was light, thin, and perfectly crispy. The fries were a great size and stayed crispy even after they had cooled down. The coleslaw was just average and didn't add much to the meal. Service: Romo was exceptional, friendly, always smiling, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Their outstanding service made a lasting impression and really elevated our dining experience. The rest of the staff were efficient but fairly average. They seemed a bit stressed and rarely smiled, which made the overall service feel less warm and welcoming. Ambience: This is such a relaxed and fun place to watch sports. The World Cup-themed décor creates an energetic atmosphere, and the abundance of restrooms means you never have to wait in long lines. It's become my favorite sports restaurant near home, and I'll definitely be back!
