We came here for a quick dinner. Service was fine. All went well. Udon is chewy as expected. Everything was delicious. Plenty of seats at 8:30pm.

Delicious udon with handmade noodles on site. We loved the special of clams and ginger tonight. Broths are delicious and so many topping choices

Honestly, this is still my favorite Marugame Udon stop because it's so spacious and there's always seating available, even on a Sunday lunchtime hour these days. The FengShui is just so much better than other locations since the spot isn't directly facing the sun and you still get a good breeze walking inside. Staffs are decent and helpful as usual. Tempura is always a favorite here. Regular Nikutama Udon bowl with an egg is still affordable and fulfilling. This time, it felt like my regular bowl size had shrunk a bit, but the portions are still very slurpy good. Mushroom tempura and shrimp tempura plus the potato croquette is still legit and delicious. I have no complaints each time we stop by for a quick meal fix. Aisles are clean and organized. It's just not as crowded as it used to be anymore. The menu selections are surviving during high inflation times, especially for regular bowls under $15. I call it decent and affordable udon here. Adding another $1.50-$2.25 for each tempura item isn't too bad either. Very good. I'm still liking it here. Feels great inside and you can still sit comfortably outside. Worth it.

Marugame is a great place to have brunch, lunch or dinner. Locally owned chain restaurant in the bay. This one is located in the City Center Bishop Ranch complex. They provide hand crafted udon bowls, tempura and beverages from a theater kitchen thus allowing diners to watch while food is prepared. There is a building right across the street designated for parking as well as underground. We frequent this location because it's conveniently located close to the freeway and has a Tesla charging station just across the complex. They offer a wide variety of Ramen, rice plates, tempura and udon menu. Ordering can be done by the designated window. You can order from the menu and can customize your order based on what's available for add ons. Don't be intimidated by the long lines because it moves fast. Get a table and line up or simply have someone in your party save the table. In the 2 times we've been there, line wasn't long. We have tried the following on the menu: Curry Nikutama Shrimp Tempura Vegetable Tempura Tonkatsu Udon Teriyaki Chicken katsu Premium Tendon It's not gourmet food but definitely worth the price and time. The food was great and the service by Michael was excellent! It was our family's first time here and we will be back! Thank you very much for the lovely first time experience here. The restaurant was spotless, super clean or very organized. Come and check them out.

Always hits the spot! Lots of space during the off meal times. Love that the green onion and tempura flake toppings are self serve!

We came in a Sunday on Father's Day as soon as they opened, so there was no line. The open kitchen is awesome. The staff were all very friendly and it was fun to choose a variety of food and they were all very good. The udon noodles were very fresh! I liked how they had signs by the condiment section explaining the different sauces/side dressings. There's lots of seating available for parties of all sizes. Would recommend!

Nikutama udon - good noodles, egg and broth but a miss on the beef and toppings (Feb 2026)

This is our second time here for dinner p and having eaten at the ones in Waikiki Hawaii, Los Angeles, and other places, I was hopeful that it would meet the mark. On the positive side: - Some interesting seasonal menu options - Efficient ordering process - Same high quality udon noodles - Good soft boiled egg - Bright, generally clean eating area - Easy self-serve station for sauces and drinks and utensils (although it was pretty messy) On the negative side: - The beef was chewy and only lukewarm - The tempura bits were too big, cold and greasy - The sliced green onions look like they had been sitting out uncovered - The fried items under the heat lamps were not cooked or kept warm properly--the shrimp and croquettes were over fried and the zucchini was limp and soggy So overall, this Marugame Udon missed the mark. With some additional attention though, I believe it can reach the standard I've been fortunate to experience elsewhere

Really enjoyed this udon spot! The self-service setup made everything quick and easy, and the restaurant was super clean and organized. The prices were very fair for the quality and portion sizes. The food itself was delicious -- the broth and noodles were really flavorful and tasted fresh. One of the coolest parts was getting to watch them make the noodles right in front of you. The staff was also very polite and helpful throughout the whole experience. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Fresh udon served quickly & self-serve tempura makes for a satisfying and comforting lunch! There was a cafeteria-style line where you order and pick up your udon and serve yourself fresh tempura before sitting down, but it moved quickly just after 12pm on a Tuesday. I opted for the Beef Tomatama (4/5) on the seasonal menu in December, which had a rich tomato curry that paired well with the fresh udon. I also tried the shrimp tempura (4/5) which was good but would have been better if it was freshly fried. There's plenty of seating, though the tables were a little dirty. There is also outdoor seating.

Marugame Udon always hits the spot when I'm craving some noodles and soup! This location is located in a prime spot as well. Plenty of parking and shopping options to do after or even before. There's also lots of seating options inside and outside. If you choose to sit outside, they also have heat lamps so you stay warm during the winter Service is fast as it goes in a line and the additional tempura choices are always delicious! I feel like every time I go, there's always a new item on the menu! This time I tried the cheese katsu curry udon and it was pretty good. A little heavy with the curry, but the flavors all melded together well!

Been a regular for years across various locations like oahu and south bay. Overtime, Marugame has skimped on the soup and meat, which is a bummer. They never pour enough broth to cover the noodles (see niku udon pic). I do appreciate that they have staff helping people find a seat now. Lines may look intimidating but it moves fast. Good for a quick bite but not sure if the portions are worth the price so Ive been coming less

This was recommended by a friend and I am glad we came here. This place is inside a mall on the ground floor. We didn't have any reservations and I don't even know if they take them. It was very busy but we were able to get a table of six of us. You get in line and order your food and pick your add ons in line. Then pay and they give you a number stand to get your food delivered. All the udon is made right in front of you. It is all scratch made in large pots and it is amazing to just watch them make it. I got the most popular, Nikutama which is the beef. Wow the Udon was amazing. The beef cooked perfectly. I loved it. My wife got the creamy broth with pork and it was good but she liked mine better. We got some tempura to eat with the soup but it is made ahead of time and wasn't very crispy. Disappointing. We really enjoyed this place and will come again in in the area.

Is all your broth made with pork?

They have a vegan tan tan that is purely vegetarian broth

    Are there any birthday specials?

Not that are listed on the menu.

Do they have Ume musubi or salmon musubi at this location similar to their Hawaiian location?

No musubi like the Hawaii menu sadly.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me who the artist is for their awesome wallpaper art? I seriously want my wall to look like the art.

Are any of the tempura sides such as the potato croquette vegan? thanks for the helpful response Michael, I'll probably will go to that salad place, probably won't run into idiots like you there :)

Yes, they have a vegan udon, but I don't think any of the tempura sides are vegan, I think the batter that is used is made with egg.

Do they have vegan broth options?

    Yes!

During our first visit, we were celebrating my birthday, and the staff surprised us with a scoop of ice cream and a candle, which we appreciated. We later noticed it was added to our bill, so we were a little surprised since we had assumed it was a complimentary birthday dessert..we would have preferred being informed there would be an additional charge. Today, the food was still good overall, but a few dishes were slightly off. The green beans were a bit undercooked compared to our last visit, and the mushroom karaage tasted a little powdery to me. Neither issue was significant enough to mention during the meal. Aside from the food, our server, Joel, was great! Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It seemed like he may have been the only server working that evening, so he was constantly busy, but he still provided excellent service. Since we ordered a lot of food for just the two of us, he pushed another table over so we'd have enough space, which we really appreciated. At the end of the meal, we had leftovers, including almost an entire spicy tuna roll since it was one of the last dishes to arrive. Another server packed up our leftovers, including the mushroom karaage. Unfortunately, when we got home, we realized the spicy tuna roll was missing from the bag. Overall, we still enjoyed our visit and appreciate the great service from Joel. We were just a little disappointed by a couple of the dishes and the missing leftover.

First of all, Yelp should do something about restaurants begging customers for reviews. People come here based on those ratings, spend a lot of money, and end up with an experience like this. I genuinely don't understand how this place has such high reviews. Normally, even at a bad restaurant, there's at least one dish that's decent. Here, there wasn't a single item I would order again. The nigiri was served at room temperature, which immediately raised concerns. The sushi rolls had an unpleasantly sticky rice texture that completely ruined the bite. Almost every appetizer tasted like frozen, pre-packaged food, and even those weren't prepared well. The shrimp tempura was overcooked and the shrimp was tough. The takoyaki had no flavor at all. The fried dumplings were soggy instead of crispy. The kappa roll and avocado roll looked nothing like the photos. They were ridiculously oversized, almost as if they were trying to fill people up with rice instead of making good ingredients. They honestly looked unappetizing before I even took a bite. The udon was simply bad. The soba was even worse--it had a sour, spoiled taste. I took one sip of the broth and immediately spat it out. The service issue wasn't the server's fault. The restaurant had only one server handling an all-you-can-eat operation, so every dish took forever to arrive, and even getting the check took an incredibly long time. Finally, the restroom smelled so terrible that it completely killed what little appetite I had left. It was difficult to even walk inside because of the odor. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. It wasn't just disappointing--it was a complete waste of money.
