Casual family operated bistro style Thai fushion restaurant which we selected after spending a day at the Livermore Outlet. Arrived around 6 pm on a Memorial Day Sunday where we just beat the rush and were seated immediately. My son and I ordered our beers and highly recommend the Lucky Chicken amber red ale made in Japan. Great taste and refreshing. All entrees that we ordered were very good but the only item that we would not order again is the Roti appetizer which are presented as tiny triangular pieces. What's nice about time Thai kitchen, there's a nice parking lot that's shared with a couple of other restaurants vs the rest of downtown that is mainly street parking. Walking up, we noticed a bit of a wait and a waitlist. Being 4 on the waitlist, we waited for about 15 mins. Seating inside was very comfortable as it's a small and quaint shop. We ordered the Tom yum soup, som tum salad, pad kee mao, and the bekp. Everything was very delicious and they do not joke about their spice levels too. We ordered Tom yum soup, Spicy Thai basil rice, Thai chicken rice and Chicken pad see ew. The soup was watery, with very little flavor and few vegetable pieces. Love Time Thai!! It's definitely our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Every time we have come here, the food and service is great! The restaurant is relatively small with only about 5 or so tables so definitely not a great dine-in spot if you have a large group during peak dining hours (though it looks like they may be expanding into the space next door and recently opened a new Livermore location). I was craving pad Thai and I thought I'll try a different place this time. We ordered pad Thai with pork, crab curry bomb, crab fried rice, and fried rice with fried chicken. Hubby arrived as soon as they had opened for the day but there was already a line for dine in customers. Good thing we asked for take out; otherwise, it'll be a long wait. Out of all of the dishes, I liked the crab fried rice and the crab curry bomb. There were big chunks of real crab in the fried rice and the crab curry bomb was full of flavor. Pricing was decent and portions were good where we had leftovers. On the menu for us: Fried chicken tacos- A piece of fried chicken in a roti taco with slaw and spicy mayo. This is a must try! This was a first at a Thai restaurant and on their special menu. This was enough to be a meal or to share. Fried chicken pad Thai- The pad Thai here is pretty good and plated well to look appetizing. I'm used to regular chicken pad Thai but this was a good switch up. I'd probably just do one fried chicken dish though. Beef panang curry with white rice- The Panang curry here was pretty good. Very mild and not super spicy. Beef was tender and veggies were crisp. I would prefer more veggies such as carrots and more red bell peppers. I was in the area and decided to try this place based on the positive Yelp reviews. I arrived shortly before the kitchen closed for lunch and ordered a Pad Thai and a soup. The soup was decent, but the Pad Thai was overwhelmingly spicy--despite ordering the regular spice level instead of Thai spicy, as the waitress had warned me the Thai level was extremely hot. I enjoy spicy food regularly, but this was on another level--so intense that it caused stomach pain and had me sweating. I let the staff know, and they kindly offered some fresh bean sprouts to help tone it down. After a few more bites, it was still too much, so they offered to remake the dish with more noodles and sauce. While the second version was less spicy, it ended up being drenched in sauce and overly sweet--not great, but at least edible. By the end of the meal, my stomach was still hurting, so I asked for to-go boxes for the soup and noodles. The server brought boxes but no bag, and since I had a bit of a drive ahead, I asked for a plastic bag. He gave me a dirty look just because I asked for a bag. Came around 7pm on a Thursday and almost all tables are full. Service was standard and nothing to complain about. Food came out in about 10 minutes, although we didn't have that many dishes. Roti (3/5) - soft and thin pieces. Dish itself is on the smaller side. The curry itself is on the thinner side (more watery than I am accustomed to) and has an ok taste. It is better to drizzle a lot of the curry on the roti to get more taste. Khao soi (4/5) - noodles have a slight chew but is still soft. Noodles are similar to the ones in a Chinese beef wonton noodle soup. The beef slices that come with it are soft as well (pretty thinly cut) - similar to the beef slices in a beef noodle soup. Quite hearty and would be nice on a rainy or cold day. Pad Thai fried chicken (3.8/5) - fried chicken is slightly crispy but could be crispier. Texture is similar to a Chinese fried pork chop without as much seasoning. I would rate the chicken itself a 4/5. The sweet and sour sauce helps add a bit of taste. The pad Thai itself is standard. Drizzling a bit of the khao soi curry over the pad Thai makes it taste a bit better. Sweet sticky with mango (4.5/5) - several large pieces of mango instead of slices. Nice presentation! Rice is a nice sticky consistency and sweet. Fairly sweet mango as well. Pleasantly surprised with this dish. I would give this restaurant a 3.5/5. Some dishes are better than others. Perhaps other dishes may be better than the ones we ordered. I would prefer to go to Andaman Thai in San Ramon. Tip: I only go here on slow days because I've seen how busy it can get, you got to get really lucky to sit as soon as you arrive.
