Been passing this little shop many times finally decided to give it a try. It is a small place but the tables are not overly crowded and not noisy like many Asian restaurants. For the 2 of us we ordered the som tum set with fried chicken and spicy basil fried rice with pork - Thai hot. The server double checked if we really wanted that level of hotness. Yes we like it hot. The Som Tum was tasty and very citrusy and the chicken was juicy. The sticky rice that came with the set was unfortunately dry. The spicy basil fried rice had enough kick, but we like it hot, so we asked for the condiments to add more chili to it. It was sweet as with most of Thai dishes. We didn't order any drink as most Thai drinks tend to be too sweet for us. But we noticed they have happy hour? Might try next time. The service was okay. Came here for a weekday dinner and it exceeded my expectations. Located near downtown Pleasanton - parking can be found in the back but it's not an official parking, It was on gravel. There were 2 workers and the wait time for takeout/dine-in may be long due to their busyness. I would recommend calling in ahead and the staff were friendly. The food was delightful - fresh with great flavor and couldn't ask for more! Portion was on the bigger side too. Khao Soi with chicken - Rich in flavor and loved how it came with wonton chips to dip in the soup. The fried egg noodles were great. Fried Chicken Pad Thai - was intrigued by this.. Came here for the first time for my daughter's birthday. We asked if we could bring a cake and they obliged with plates and forks...very nice of them to accommodate. This place has the one of the best chicken in California (or I think the country) according to Yelp, and I believe that. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had in the Bay Area.... The Khao Soi was my favorite, as it was a generous portion size and the soup, noodles, and veggies in it were so flavorful and complimented each other so well. The fried chicken was their specialty so I got a portion for the table and its texture and flavor were amazing. The pad see ew spice was incorporated with the noodles in a way I have never tasted before and it had just the right amount of kick to it (my server didn't ask to specify a spice level, so not sure what it was). The samosas and green curry were good, but the rest of the dishes were the highlight for me. The service was a good pace and it wasn't very busy on a Saturday night. That was my favorite. We also had green curry, a solid preparation and the Crab Curry Bomb. I was hoping for more with the Crab but it certainly was NOT bad. Time Thai has a casual, contemporary atmosphere and offers an extensive selection of traditional Thai dishes as well as a number of specials listed at the top of the menu. The item they feature prominently is their fried chicken, a filet of boneless thigh meat coated in a crunchy batter. While decent enough, the fried chicken wasn't particularly flavorful and definitely needed to be dressed up with condiments. I got the chicken as part of the Som Tum Set, which also came with a sour papaya salad and sticky rice. Next, the Mango Prawns Salad was a mixture of greens, mango, boiled prawns, and cashews in a sweet and sour chili lime dressing, all topped with crunchy wonton chips. The Khao Soi was a flavorful curry noodle soup with thin egg noodles, topped with sliced chicken thigh, pickled mustard greens, red onions, cilantro, lime, and crispy egg noodles. The best part of the Khao Soi was the flavorful, warm curry broth, which was nicely spiced. But my favorite dish of all was the Crab Curry Bomb, which came with a deep-fried soft-shell crab and a stir-fried mixture of lump crab meat, egg, milk, peppers, onions, and celery in a flavorful curry sauce! The stir-fry went perfectly with the mound of jasmine rice, and the soft-shell crab added the perfect crunch. Horrible service. We were served by an older male server with glasses. We were not greeted when we walked in and he just told us to sit at a table. We had a toddler and he did not even bother to ask if we needed a high chair. Once he took our order, he just grabbed the menus from our hands without saying anything. During the meal, he did not check in with us once. When we paid our bill, he did not say thank you. While he was cleaning the table, he took our toddlers fork from our self-brought utensils. When I asked him for it, he found it from the dirty dish rack and gave it to me, without apologizing at all. The woman who sat next to us walked over to him and asked for to-go boxes. He was super rude and told her to sit down at the table. Every time when a customer waved at him, he asked the customer to wait for a minute, even though he had nothing to serve. He would never come to you the first time. He would just walk to an empty table and put dish or walk back to kitchen. This kind of service is absolutely unacceptable and I would never come back again. Aside from the horrible service, the food was not good comparing to previous visits (before the restaurant was expanded). We ordered 3 items: Shrimp pad see ew: the shrimp had no taste and overall the dish was very bland and lack of flavor. Garlic Beef: the beef had a weird texture and the sauce was very watery. Casual family operated bistro style Thai fushion restaurant which we selected after spending a day at the Livermore Outlet. Arrived around 6 pm on a Memorial Day Sunday where we just beat the rush and were seated immediately. My son and I ordered our beers and highly recommend the Lucky Chicken amber red ale made in Japan. Great taste and refreshing. All entrees that we ordered were very good but the only item that we would not order again is the Roti appetizer which are presented as tiny triangular pieces. Love Time Thai!! It's definitely our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Every time we have come here, the food and service is great! The restaurant is relatively small with only about 5 or so tables so definitely not a great dine-in spot if you have a large group during peak dining hours (though it looks like they may be expanding into the space next door and recently opened a new Livermore location). However, a lot of people order to go so when we come early on weekdays, we usually get seated right away. Food usually comes out quickly so it's a great place to eat when you're hungry! I'm really torn on this one. On one hand, the food is fantastic--easily a 4.5 or 5-star experience if we were judging on taste alone. It's definitely better than their current 4.3 average. However, the management and service are a total disaster. It's clear that they are overwhelmed by the volume of to-go orders. I understand being popular, but it feels like they are so money-hungry that they refuse to pause DoorDash or online orders even when the kitchen is clearly underwater. Instead of prioritizing the customers they already have, they just keep piling on more orders that they simply can't keep up with. My experience today was particularly frustrating: * Order Placed: 6:12PM * Estimated Pickup: 7:00 PM (Already a 48min gap) * Actual Pickup: 7:35PM Waiting 35 minutes past the promised time--especially after already giving them almost one-hour window--is unbelievable. If you can't fulfill an order on time, you shouldn't be taking it. Walking up, we noticed a bit of a wait and a waitlist. Being 4 on the waitlist, we waited for about 15 mins. Seating inside was very comfortable as it's a small and quaint shop. I was craving pad Thai and I thought I'll try a different place this time. We ordered pad Thai with pork, crab curry bomb, crab fried rice, and fried rice with fried chicken. Hubby arrived as soon as they had opened for the day but there was already a line for dine in customers. Good thing we asked for take out; otherwise, it'll be a long wait. Out of all of the dishes, I liked the crab fried rice and the crab curry bomb. There were big chunks of real crab in the fried rice and the crab curry bomb was full of flavor. Our recent lunch at Time Thai was a serendipity. When ordering Thai, we usually don't try new dishes but stick to the tried and true: that means Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and one appetizer. The Pad Thai was perfect: steaming, sticky and sweet. The Panang had a very good consistency: not too watery, gravy-like with bold flavor. We ordered medium spicy and the heat was just right. I have had Time Thai food many times and myself and my colleagues frequently order from them via food delivery service. This is the first time I decided to go in person and dine in. I visited on a Wednesday night around 7:30 pm. Restaurant had maybe two other guest. I looked at the menu, explained to my companion the dishes I've had and what I like from the menu. We also took a look at the drink menu and decided to have a beer. Our food arrived, we had our drinks first, then decided to have the dinner that was waiting for us. At approximately 8:30-ish the restaurant announced the last call for the kitchen. We received the check at 8:44, at that time my companion requested another beer but the server stated that it was already 8:45 and she wasn't serving anymore as they were closing in 15 minutes. We were kind of shocked as no other restaurant has ever refused to serve a drink because there were only 15 minutes left till closing. The music in the restaurant went off at 8:50, we at this point feel forced to leave even though we were not planning to stay longer. The only thing that delayed our stay was that no one came over to offer to go plates or pick payment. So I went in search of someone to provide me with to go containers and take payment for our dine in. Overall I was extremely displeased with the poor service. I will definitely share this experience with all my colleagues so they are aware of why I will not be supporting a local business that lacks in service.
