I'm always on the hunt to check out new Thai spots around the area. This place is nice and quaint. The restaurant is quite small and I felt I was dining in Japan. It wasn't noisy so it was nice spot for date night. Parking is in the back but it can get busy. The waitress we had last night was super sweet and friendly. There were only a couple tables plus a bar table area so it was busy when we came for dinner. Food came out about 15 minutes after we ordered. Pricing was decent and portions were good where we had leftovers. On the menu for us: Fried chicken tacos- A piece of fried chicken in a roti taco with slaw and spicy mayo. This is a must try! This was a first at a Thai restaurant and on their special menu. This was enough to be a meal or to share. Fried chicken pad Thai- The pad Thai here is pretty good and plated well to look appetizing. I'm used to regular chicken pad Thai but this was a good switch up. I'd probably just do one fried chicken dish though. Beef panang curry with white rice- The Panang curry here was pretty good. Very mild and not super spicy. Beef was tender and veggies were crisp. I would prefer more veggies such as carrots and more red bell peppers. Strawberry lemonade- Refreshing but a little too sweet but it was good. Actual strawberries and not that artificial syrup. Overall a great dining experience and I can't wait to come back and try the duck curry and drunken noodles. read more

*I would give this restaurant a 3.5/5 rating if possible* Very small place. 6 tables or so. However, there is ~5 bar seats that you can also sit in. Came around 7pm on a Thursday and almost all tables are full. Service was standard and nothing to complain about. Food came out in about 10 minutes, although we didn't have that many dishes. Roti (3/5) - soft and thin pieces. Dish itself is on the smaller side. The curry itself is on the thinner side (more watery than I am accustomed to) and has an ok taste. It is better to drizzle a lot of the curry on the roti to get more taste. Khao soi (4/5) - noodles have a slight chew but is still soft. Noodles are similar to the ones in a Chinese beef wonton noodle soup. The beef slices that come with it are soft as well (pretty thinly cut) - similar to the beef slices in a beef noodle soup. Quite hearty and would be nice on a rainy or cold day. Pad Thai fried chicken (3.8/5) - fried chicken is slightly crispy but could be crispier. Texture is similar to a Chinese fried pork chop without as much seasoning. I would rate the chicken itself a 4/5. The sweet and sour sauce helps add a bit of taste. The pad Thai itself is standard. Drizzling a bit of the khao soi curry over the pad Thai makes it taste a bit better. Sweet sticky with mango (4.5/5) - several large pieces of mango instead of slices. Nice presentation! Rice is a nice sticky consistency and sweet. Fairly sweet mango as well. Pleasantly surprised with this dish. I would give this restaurant a 3.5/5. Some dishes are better than others. Perhaps other dishes may be better than the ones we ordered. I would prefer to go to Andaman Thai in San Ramon. Time Thai is cheaper than Andaman - Time Thai could be a good alternative if you're looking for a closer location and cheaper price. Based on quality of the food, I would choose Andaman. read more

Based on a great experience from a previous visit, we went all out and ordered a variety of dishes: crab fried rice, pad kee mao, tom kha, pad Thai, fried chicken, papaya salad, and fried banana. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be very disappointing. The food was not up to par, the service was quite slow, and we were seated outside where it was both dusty and noisy. We went on a Friday night at 8pm and waited about 20 minutes to be seated. There were 3 couples listed before us. Every table we saw ordered the fried chicken and it did not disappoint. This used to be my top Thai spot in Tri Valley. I ordered beef noodle soup, duck with red curry and crab fried rice. The quality and taste definitely went down hill. The beef noodle soup beef briskets were dried and chewy, I can also taste it was burned. Duck meat with the red curry used to be their signature as they smoked the duck meat, but now tasted very bland, no smoke flavor and over cooked. Crab fried rice definitely have significantly reduced crab meat this time. I wonder if they have changed chef? read more

We went on a Saturday evening around 6:30, hoping to get outdoor seating however there were only two small tables outside. We had our pup with us. They let us sit at the bar near the waiting entrance and even offered my pup water. The food here is amazing! The fried chicken with fried rice was stellar, the rice was fragrant and the fried chicken was so moist yet crunchy and not too heavy: the chicken skin was like eating an immaculate chip! We also got the fried chicken pad Thai which was good the noodles here are chewy for sure and the sauce sweet. Both came with sweet dipping sauce. Tbh everything sounded amazing in the menu, and it was a small yet just quint and adorable date night spot, lots of families and dates! The music was also mainstream hits but with a chiller vibe. I was in the area and decided to try this place based on the positive Yelp reviews. I arrived shortly before the kitchen closed for lunch and ordered a Pad Thai and a soup. The soup was decent, but the Pad Thai was overwhelmingly spicy--despite ordering the regular spice level instead of Thai spicy, as the waitress had warned me the Thai level was extremely hot. I enjoy spicy food regularly, but this was on another level--so intense that it caused stomach pain and had me sweating. I let the staff know, and they kindly offered some fresh bean sprouts to help tone it down. After a few more bites, it was still too much, so they offered to remake the dish with more noodles and sauce. While the second version was less spicy, it ended up being drenched in sauce and overly sweet--not great, but at least edible. By the end of the meal, my stomach was still hurting, so I asked for to-go boxes for the soup and noodles. The server brought boxes but no bag, and since I had a bit of a drive ahead, I asked for a plastic bag. He gave me a dirty look just because I asked for a bag. That felt unnecessary and left a sour final impression. Overall, I had a disappointing experience and wouldn't return. Worst service experience in a long time. The male server walked away before we finished placing our order, never checked on our table, and rolled his eyes in front of customers. He had an attitude from the start, even before serving us. Halfway through the meal, a female staff member took over, but unfortunately she also had a bad attitude. They have two-three tables for small parties outside, but the majority of seating is indoors. They're kid and dog-friendly out on the patio, and it's shaded BUT still hot. We were STOKED to try their dishes with any and all fried chicken. I loved my pad thai fried chicken and sis loved the B.E.C. Yoooooo you have to get anything with their fried chicken. It reminded me of the deliciously crispy and light fried chicken Taiwanese style, but the flavor is a bit different. It's not super shelled with fried panko or batter like you might get at KFC or Church's. And it's more light/tender compared to korean fried chicken. Def worth a stop through especially if you loved fried chicken and are looking to try different styles. I love noods, so the pad thai was a no brainer. The B.E.C is great because you get a whole egg with your meal, and I was surprised we both finished our meals. IT WAS HUGE. And it was that good we had to just finish it all in one sitting. A friend recommended this hidden gem because their Khao Soi was outstanding and boy he was right . The broth was so rich and their beef was unbelievably tender. My son ordered their crab curry bomb and it was delicious as well. The crab flavor was deeply infused in the curry, perfect for a cold night. Randomly found this restaurant while looking for asian food in Pleasanton. 2 orders of Khao Soi. One with chicken. One with beef. Khao Soi is THE dish that you must try if you are ever in Chaing Mai. Khao soi is my favorite Thai dish and I have been looking for a place that tastes like the bowls I had in Thailand. I think I found it. Here. In Plesanton. If you've never had it, order it here. It is as good or even better that the bowls I ate on the random streets in Chiang Mai. I wish I lived closer to frequent this restaurant. Dump the shallots, mustard greens and green onion that come in the small side dish into the bowl. Squeeze in some lime and stir. The curry broth is thick and sweet with a slight kick of spice. Noodles are chewy and pick up the broth nicely. Both the (boneless) beef and chicken were fall off the bone tender. Fried wonton strips and a ball of fried noodles add crunch. The roti appetizer was cut into wedges and crispy with a thin curry dipping sauce. We so didn't need to order this, but it was delicious. We were stuffed. I've been here 3 times now and I just want to say that I am NOT a Thai food type of gal, but this place has my heart. The people, the food, the vibe, everything hits. Tip: I only go here on slow days because I've seen how busy it can get, you got to get really lucky to sit as soon as you arrive. The food here has always been a hit and I haven't had a bad meal ever. The fried chicken is sooo good. It's so flavorful and juicy. The first couple of times I've been here we chose the safe options which is obviously their fried chicken, calamari, some of their curry. Firstly, the service was amazing, I called to let them know I was running late and they delayed making my order so it was still steaming hot when I picked it up! Time has gotta be one of the best Thai restaurants I've tried in the Bay, and it's super affordable too! Restaurant is pretty small inside with a couple of tables outside, so I recommend coming early to secure Our server told us that spicy was pretty spicy, but I think we totally could've added some more heat! I got the Khao Soi which I was really excited had a vegetarian option. It definitely seemed more healthy with some vegetables and had good flavor. Their thai tea is also really good.
