Top Pot is in a very busy Asian strip mall in an area with a lot of different food and Asian food options. They have a pretty good All You Can Eat menu. My wife and I went on a Wednesday night a little before 6pm because we were in the area and craving hot pot. There are various AYCE packages with premium meats, we ordered the basic because we felt that would meet our needs. The meat seemed fresh, and the service friendly and responsive. They also had an area to get sauces and various cooked food (fried rice, honey walnut prawns, chow mein, Sichuan cold noodles) and other items. One thing they made this place unique is you could order Peking duck wraps, which they would cut and wrap to order. They gave us two each time and we ordered it 3 times along with other hot pot items. While not pushing ourselves to overeat too much, we felt satisfied and that we ate our moneys' worth. The ayce here is super worth it they give you so much food and I definitely recommend getting the unlimited duck wraps with the sauce on the side! The angus beef marbling was actually a lot better than I was expecting for a an ayce place. The beef tendon and tripe was super soft and yummy. The beef and lamb skewers are also really tender and not dry at all. The side bar was also pretty good. Top Pot is located in the Pacific Pearl, an Asian shopping center across the street from the San Francisco Premium Outlets. They are affiliated with Fiery Shanghai located in the same shopping center. My brother and I came here for dinner with a couple friends on 12/20/2025. It was pretty quiet when we walked in just after 5pm. The staff greeted us, and we were immediately seated. The interior was clean, but the floor was a bit slippery. Near the cash register counter were the cold/hot food and dessert stations and sauce bar. The AYCE dinner was $35.99 per person on weekends ($29.99 on weekdays), which included one broth of your choice, all the hot pot ingredients, plus all the other stuff mentioned in the previous paragraph. Ordering was done by marking what you want on a laminated menu. We started with a round of roast duck wraps, spicy beef and lamb skewers, honey walnut prawns, and other cold appetizers. Everything was delicious, and we eventually got a couple more rounds of the same order. We decided to go with the pork bone soup base since we all wanted something mild. The food menu featured a wide array of standard hot pot ingredients plus different organ meats. We were very pleased with the quality of the meats and vegetables. Out of everything we tried, I especially loved the Angus beef (not fatty), garlic beef (great garlicky flavor), tripe (fresh and crunchy), and tendon (large chucks were stewed prior which gave it a great taste). Portions were huge so beware of over ordering. I didn't see any mention of dining time limit. Service was excellent. The staff were friendly and they checked on us frequently throughout our meal to refill water, clear dirty plates, and take additional orders. Had a fantastic experience at Top Hot! The all-you-can-eat hot pot, Peking duck, and kebabs were delicious and offered a great variety of options. Great classic Chinese hot pot. Almost everything was included in AYCE, including the skewers and Peking duck which were great. All the hot pot ingredients were pretty good, and only thing I noticed was the sesame paste was quite thick, sometimes being hard to dip food in. Towards the end though the soup base got really salty even though we added more water to it, so I'm not sure why that is. Server was very friendly and chill, without strict rules about the AYCE. Parking is great here, with a big parking lot. We actually came because I randomly saw an IG post about their $29.99 weekday lunch AYCE, which includes Peking duck. That definitely caught our attention. When we arrived, the restaurant was open but there was literally no one inside. We seated ourselves, but after about 20 minutes, nobody came over and another family actually left. Since we had driven quite a distance to get here, we decided to flag someone down in the kitchen. He told us they open at noon, although the sign on the door said 11:30 AM. Luckily, a Chinese auntie came rushing in shortly before noon and immediately started taking care of us. She absolutely made our dining experience excellent. She was super attentive throughout the meal, checked on us frequently, gave us recommendations, asked if we wanted to order more, cleared our finished dishes, and made sure we had enough room on the table. She really turned what started as a rough opening into a great experience. You order from a dry-erase menu, and there were definitely some highlights. The Chinese skewers are ON POINT. Juicy, tender, flavorful, and honestly better than some dedicated Chinese skewer BBQ places I've been to. I would come back just for these. Hot pot meat: They are very generous with the portions. You get a lot of meat per order, and everything we tried tasted fresh. The hot pot itself is also a good size, so you can cook multiple things at once without everything fighting for space. Peking duck: It was okay, but the skin wasn't as crispy as I would expect from a Chinese restaurant. Not bad, just not the highlight for me. There is also a selection of ready-to-eat food at the buffet bar. Those were just okay, so I would personally skip most of them and focus on the skewers, Peking duck, and hot pot menu. A couple things to keep in mind: drinks are not included, there is an additional charge if you want two soup bases, and older kids do not eat free either. Within an hour, we were completely stuffed. The combination of AYCE hot pot, skewers, and Peking duck for $29.99 on a weekday lunch is a pretty solid deal. Would I come back? Absolutely. The meat and veggies were all fresh. They also have a sauce and appetizer bar. In addition to the hotpot, their menu also included peking duck rolls and beef/lamb kebabs. Came on Friday afternoon, wasn't too busy. I remember coming here years ago and it was meh. Glad I came to give it another try! The hotpot meat quality and selection was okay and standard. Not quite the highest quality or event felt like the freshest meat. Really frozen for sure. BUT what I'm amazed by is the other things that they had to offer. The beef and lamb skewers were surprisngly really good! They're on par with other skewer places in the bay. Definitely loved that it was unlimited. There's also some cold dishes and some hot dishes near the sauce station. Grab your own chow mein, fried rice, and even walnut shrimp. What??? Quality was whatevers for those, but still the fact they offered that! Another great thing that's included with the price is the duck rolls. Came here for lunch because we missed the waitlist for chubby cattle. Genuinely the food was pretty good but not a lot of beef options (I think there was just two?) really came for the peking duck which was good - got 2 orders of it. The deduction in stars came from the gentleman who left the checkout thing with us and I skipped the tip option since I left it in cash. He came to collect it and announce "you didn't leave a tip". If you would've stayed around while I checked out, you would've noticed we left it in cash which was well over 20%. When I said I left it as cash, he snatched it right away and walked out. Yelp friends took me to this hot pot place that was nicely priced for an all you can eat place. They have a side dish and dessert bar that I have to be careful not to make my main meal as the hot pot is the star. The reddish colored broth was my favorite and at the end was like a big bowl of soup to slurp up. We have lots a fatty meats and vegetables we cooked up . Seafood was plentiful and fresh . The duck was a bit dry and the crepes had a bit too much sauce, but everything else was delicious. The meats were thinly sliced and brought out quickly. We had the dinner AYCE - $35.99 with 18% gratuity included to equal $50.07. Loved the lamb skewers, beef skewers, Peking duck, honey walnut shrimp, and fried rice! Generous portions given for the hot pot items. We enjoyed the tom yum and veggie soup options. We were stuffed. Went here for lunch with a friend. I love how there are so many meat choices and the service was great. It helped that we went during lunch where it was not crazy busy like dinner normally is. Food was delicious. We went with the Tom Yum Broth and the Pork Bone Broth. Their Tom Yum had that perfect sour spicy flavor, nothing to overpowering like other places. We did have to add some of our dipping sauce in the Pork broth because it was lacking a little flavor, but it was good, we just needed to add that extra to our liking. Their brisket was nice and tender and really soaked up the broth that added that extra juicyness. They also had other things at their sauce bar like Honey Walnut Shrimp, which was really delicious. The beef angus was also good and cooked very quick like the brisket. They had a nice selection of veggies and other sides for our soup. Once they saw that we were low, they came to our table and asked if we wanted more meats. They did that for all the tables. It can be very overwhelming if workers keep coming to your table asking if you want something, it takes time away from you enjoying your food. They really paid attention to their guest and knew the ques when it looked like we all needed help. Water was always refilled. We did have to hunt down our waiter to get more broth, but other then that, they did their best making sure we were all happy. When we asked for our second round, we mentioned that they missed our first order of corn and they gave us extra corn and when we asked for double the order of quail eggs (I love quail eggs in my hot pot) they really did give us a good double amount of quail eggs. I found this place on an instagram reel advertising unlimited Peking Duck and Skewers and thought this had to be too good to be true. It is legit; with one caveat-- you only get one skewer and duck wrap per person per round. Generally you'll eat so much hot pot that you don't have the stomach space to get through that many rounds. My party only barely managed to get through 2 rounds. Other than that the Hot Pot is solid, the sauce bar is very comprehensive and they also have serve yourself sichuan cold noodles alongside marinated beef (tripe?), chicken, fried rice, chow mein, and some other items. Overall well worth the price. I'd go again, and I'd be surprised if this place doesn't get more crowded as the word gets around more. read more

She proceeded to harass our table saying that each person should tip $10, that should've been my clue to never return. I decided to give them a second chance last night, the waitress again tried to force me into a high tip. She went as far as pulling the card machine out of my hand TWICE. I told her "no thank you this is what I would like to pay" she proceeded to come over to our table and harass, my boyfriend and his father as we walked out the door. It was very embarrassing, and completely inappropriate. We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it really put a damper on the end of our evening. It was completely unprofessional and ridiculous how uncomfortable they make you feel. They are extremely deceitful at this establishment and irony is their service isn't even good for them to demand a tip. Substantial portions of any of the foods that you order, and they are fresh. The size of the pots are large and can accommodate a lot of food. They can fit small and large groups easily, too. We once had a group of 14 and we were able to sit together! Yay! Minus one star for two specific reasons: They're the most expensive hot pot in this part of town, and I wish they would always turn on the vents on top of any active table. read more

When I first walked in, the initial impression was concerning. There were dirty dishes left on tables, visible grime on the walls, and a lot of clutter behind the cashier area. It immediately gave the impression that the restaurant might not be very sanitary. I came with a friend who recommended the place and had driven us there, so I didn't feel comfortable leaving right away despite my first impression. Service was almost nonexistent. Customers are expected to walk to the beverage cooler to grab their own drinks and utensils, and the staff rarely checks in on the tables. Another issue was the closing time. The posted business hours say they close at 10:00 PM, but around 9:30 PM a staff member informed us they were about to lock the doors and suggested that we leave. Also, make sure to check your receipt, as gratuity appears to be automatically added. As for the food, it was unfortunately subpar and did not make up for the overall experience.
