Get ready for the heat at this hot pot location! They have a few vegetarian broth options, and some clear soups without spice. My friends and I got half & half with the traditional Chongqing butter style broth and pickled cabbage with pork bone broth. For the spice level, my friend and I thought we could totally handle the mild spicy. It was quite numbing for sure, and I wish we would've ordered light spicy. The other broth was quite sour and not my favorite. They had buy 1 get 1 free for meat, and we thought ordering 3 different meats would result in the free one of our choosing. However, they automatically brought a free plate of each meat we ordered. There was a bit of language barrier, but fortunately one of our friends spoke the same language to explain the confusion and how we didn't need 6 plates of meat. Their meats were below average compared to other hot pot spots in the area and I landed up just eating the veggies instead. The veggie selection was good, and I really loved their tofu skin and cold bar with all the dipping sauces. With tips and taxes, it came out to around $110, which was a very good deal considering the amount of meat we received. While I was not a fan of the meats, I would still come back here for the flavors!

We were craving hot pot and decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Chongqing Beef Tallow Whole Pot with a medium spice level, and it did not disappoint! They also have a great weekend promotion from Friday through Sunday: buy one, get one free on select meats. We ordered the Australian lamb shoulder and M9 Australian Wagyu. In addition, we tried the spicy tender beef ribbons, mushroom platter, and fresh brain flower. Everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The broth was rich, fragrant, and packed with authentic spicy flavor. The quality of the meat was excellent, and everything tasted fresh. Highly recommended for everyone looking for a satisfying and authentic hot pot experience!

This place is a hidden gem! When you walk in, it feels like you went back in time to a local hot pot spot in China. We were seated right away and the staff were friendly and attentive. We opted for the signature spicy and chicken mushroom soup and the chicken mushroom was the star of the show.. It healed my soul and was so hearty and flavorful. I typically don't prefer lamb, but both their beef and lamb was so delicious! They were quality cuts! We opted for the 2 person combo that was $50 and it was more than enough with a couple of added vegetables. The special is only available on weekdays from Monday through Thursday. I asked the worker how long the combo would go for and he mentioned that it would be available for the next few months, so you definitely gotta come here and try before the special ends! They also just started their $100 combo that feeds 3-4 people. They also have FREE chicken wings that were bomb.com!!! and the sauce bar definitely had all that I needed for my perfect hot pot sauce. The cucumber salad was really good and was complimentary. I'll definitely be back to try more!!

This place is so good! Authentic Chinese food! The staff members are so friendly and helpful. The mild hot sauce was a good spice level, might go a lil more spice next time. So happy this place is here and would definitely go again! The staff are the best! And the ingredients are fresh!

Happiness Hot Pot - a name that cannot get anymore close to the experience you get while eating here. And yes, I drive from the City to eat here. I think this is my new hotpot place to go after the previous one dropped in quality. Parking is in the rear, and was easy for us at 6PM on a Friday night. We were seated instantly, but there was a small line by the time we left at 7. Some tips on what to look for in a good hotpot place: -They bring the pot up with solidified hotpot base so you know it's not reused or watered down. Just cubes of butter and beef fat mixed with a spicy broth. -When refilling broths, they use separate water kettles because each broth is unique. If they use the same kettle for 2 different broth flavors, you know the flavors will get watered down with time. -For authentic Chengdu hotpot, you need a can of sesame oil on the side. It's used for lowering the spice levels while making every dipped meat more "fragrant". It's different from the OTC sesame oil you find in supermarkets. -The "weirder" the menu items, the more authentic. Frog legs, intestines, and dare I say pig brain? We ordered a half and half with mild spicy and tomato broth. This place gets pretty spicy, so I definitely recommend toning down the spice unless you're a fiend. The sauce bar is $2.75/pp, and has fresh fruits, fried chicken, and other dishes that rotate depending on availability. The meat quality is really good, and prices are fair for a la carte. Let's just say hotpot, when done correctly, is not the stereotypical cheap chinese meal. My favorite meats were the frog legs and spicy beef that's cooked. The decor is very, very nostalgic. Everything down to the tables and chairs and utensils are reminiscent of the 1980s in China, which I loved. It's very similar to a few hotpot places I've been to in Sichuan. I loved seeing the posters and pictures of a bygone era. If you decide to come, get a half and half pot, and make sure use the sesame oil in a bowl with garlic, cilantro, and green onion!

Got a half chongqing clear spicy broth and half tomato broth hot pot. Ordered various mushrooms, chrysanthemum, and beef cuts. The atmosphere was amazing, lots of posters showcasing old Chinese pop culture, very nostalgic. They were pretty generous with how much meat was given, and while a bit pricey, the meal was super filling and amazing for a chilly day. They had a small selection of free sides to choose from too at the sauce bar, pretty standard but good! Very solid place for when you're craving hot pot.

Great food! Eat them up all

$59 for 2-3 people from Mon-Thur- great size, great food quality. Highly recommend!! Ensure come here by 6:30, otherwise long waiting line

Just what I needed for a cold autumn night :3 My partner and I were craving soup and decided to take advantage while we were in Fremont that evening. SOOOO GOOD. I couldn't stop saying how delicious everything was. Interior is retro, old-fashioned themed hotpot joint. Kinda reminiscent of the local spots my grandparents would take me to in Taiwan, feels nostalgic. We were seated immediately on a Sunday evening. Staff are courteous and efficient. - CHICKEN SOUP BASE: Ok I know you really shouldn't drink the soup base but I couldn't help it. So savory and warmed up my cold heart :P Perfect on rice and added an lovely umami to everything cooked inside - TENDER BEEF (?): Omg generous portions (thank god since everything is a la carte). Fresh & thickly sliced Sauce bar is stocked up and tidy. We shared a variety of other items, like their chiba tofu and quail egg. SO MUCH FOOD. And since it's not AYCE, you can get to-go boxes for any leftovers. Will need to come back ^_^

The spicy base soup is really tasty. Love it! Try the beef with eggs. The watermelon is also good.

Not an AYCE, but they almost treat it like one. They have a sauce station with fruits, cold appetizers, sweet jelly soup, and spicy fried chicken! The cold seaweed salad and cucumber salad were good. The cold seaweed had a spicy kick to it. We walked in around 5:45 on a Friday. It was maybe less than half full inside. You will walk out smelling like hotpot. The goose intestine was unique and crunchy. Beef tongue was tough. The beef short rib, lamb, and another kind of beef. The veggies and mushrooms were fresh. We also got the shrimp paste and octopus and they were good. They don't have alcohol here though. Service was fast. But they did forget our Wintermelon. It was odd and gross that they didn't have hand soap in the women's restroom and the paper towel doesn't work. How are employees and guests going to wash hands correctly to handle food? I had to use my own sanitizer

Very fresh and authentic ChongQing hotpot dishes. High quality and great taste.Good for 2 people .

Best hotpot in Bay Area! Ingredients are fresh. Great service as well. Also comes with free snacks/side dishes. Our family enjoy it every time, it's a safe default choice for sure. And the Beef tongue here is the best!

However, I am but a simple eater and was not impressed by the number of options. I found that there was a lot of upsell and charging for small amenities that are generally included. The sauce bar, ice cream, and cold items were an extra $3.99 per person and we decided to skip this. In retrospect we regret but the lunch meal was still $100 for two people. We did enjoy the noodle dance, and the quality of noodle was very good. Overall, the meat quality was excellent, but not much more than premium all you can eat spots in Sacramento. Paying for the plates of meats and veggies made it rather difficult to share things between only two people. This is definitely a place you want to come to with a large group and a plan to spend a lot of money. Our service was excellent, and our waiter was incredibly attentive. If anything, this shows their standards are a bit higher. If I were to come back, it would be for a deal or happy hour.

I just found this new spot near the area I usually come to after school from Ohlone, and it's…read morereally on par with Tasty Pot in Newark, but Tasty Pot doesn't have scallion rice or the drinks there. Tasty Pot is good, but I notice their snacks are chained to the neighbor, Trunin Tea House. However, BoilingPoint is all in-house. The meat is amazing, and the service is good they keep checking up on me for my soup, and they ask if I need my fire off from the hot pot, which I didn't know was a thing. Their manager was so nice too her name was Han, and she was so attentive to her store and her employees. The food came out quickly. It really is a nice place to eat alone and with family and friends. Definitely recommend it if you want something fast, especially as winter is coming.

Ever since getting pregnant, I've been craving hot pot almost every week, and I've been coming to…read moreBoiling Point about six times during my pregnancy! I've always ordered the Korean Pot, but lately I've switched things up and started getting the Beef Hot Pot with mild spice. And let me tell you, their definition of "mild" is NOT my definition of mild. I would honestly consider it medium, if not very spicy! Every time I leave this restaurant, I'm coughing, so consider this your fair warning if you're sensitive to spice. I'm always trying to hold back my cough while sipping the soup, and I really wish their mild option were genuinely mild. I always ask for extra broth to dilute the soup and make it less spicy, but even then, it still has quite a kick! For some reason, this location is so much better than the San Jose location. The soup here is much more flavorful, whereas I find the soup at the San Jose location lacking in flavor. If you're deciding between the two, I would definitely recommend coming here! Pro tip: I always ask for an extra bowl and transfer all the meat into it when the hot pot arrives. That way, the meat doesn't overcook while I'm enjoying the rest of the meal. I add the meat back gradually throughout the meal, and once they turn off the fire, I pour everything back into the pot and enjoy the rest. Perfectly cooked meat every time! My husband and I also love coming here for lunch because we get free tea with our meals, which is always a nice bonus. Another tip: if you have a rewards account, they offer double points on the 15th and 30th of every month, so keep that in mind when planning your visit! Overall, Boiling Point has been satisfying my pregnancy hot pot cravings, and I'll definitely keep coming back. Just please make the mild spice actually mild!
