This establishment has changed a few times -- new name, different layout and decor but the food itself isn't up to par. Always empty or half filled with guests whenever we dine here. Would love to see different items and some changes to pricing or offers such as specials or happy hour deals. Would definitely come back if I am in the area and wanted to get seated quickly and dine; but this wouldn't be on my top 10.

Yet another new hot pot spot takes over this location! It's ala carte style with authentic ingredient and broth options, along with one of the most extensive sauce and snack bars I've seen yet. The spicy beef tallow broth we got was mild and wasn't too spicy! All the broths could use a bit more flavor, but otherwise prepared well. The meat quality here is good, but you have to make sure not to dump all the meat in at once. The meat here can't be cooked long or it gets chewy. Everything here was very fresh and beautifully prepared. Loved the refreshing fruit teas too! Service was EXCELLENT! Didn't even really have to ask for broth refills as they were attentive enough to check and do it themselves. They were very accommodating in recommending broth options that didn't have pork in it too. Overall beautiful experience!

Saw this restaurant on TikTok and decided to try it out. It is a Chinese a la cart hot pot restaurant. Upon entering, it is very clean and modern inside. They had a really clean sauce bar with a good selection of side dishes. Those dishes include sesame balls, oranges, mussels, shrimp chips, chicken feet, and many more. Everything is ordered through a QR code on the table. All the side toppings we had like the quail eggs, tofu balls, corn, cabbages, etc came with A LOT. they were very generous with their portions. The meats were not too thinly sliced, it had some width to it. Honestly, the quality of meats was delicious. Our personal favorite was the beef tongue. We got a split soup base with the beef tallow at mild and the tomato soup base. Since this is a Chinese hot pot style, their mild was a numbing sensation still. The tomato soup was on the lighter side. Both broths were not salty and held a lot of flavor. We would come back again and only get the tomato soup or the other non spicy soup base.

If you're looking for a hotpot place in the Bay Area, XiFu Hotpot is a great choice! It's located inside a plaza with lots of parking. When you walk into XiFu, you can immediately smell the yummy soup flavors. We were seated immediately and ordered. We got the 4 broths with two types of meat and veggies. We also made our own sauces. We literally could not stop eating because the soup was so flavorful when cooking the meat. The portions were generous and you could tell it was good quality meats! We ended with a mango shave ice dessert and some red bean seasame balls. I will definitely come back! Thank you Reedan for serving us and giving us recommendations for broth!

Two-person meal during Mon-Thu

We came here Tuesday night for their weekday meal for two. The restaurant wasn't busy, and the waiters were very efficient. Our food came very quickly. They have a smaller snack bar compared to some other hotpot places. For hotpot we tried the house special beef tallow and Chinese herbal soup base. Neither were impressive nor fragrant. I was surprised that even the Chinese herbal soup didn't have the right herbal flavor in it. The meal included three beef dishes that were decent, duck blood that tasted fresh, pork liver which was an odd choice for hotpot, braised chicken feet, fried tofu skin, kelp, and cabbage. The dessert was the cutest ever and tastes good too. Although the taste didn't stand out among the blooming hotpot scene, the final price for two was $78, which was pretty good value given the Bay Area baseline. I don't think it's worth a long drive, but a good casual hotpot spot if you live nearby.

We tried this hotpot place as a work lunch, since my boss recommended it as an authentic chengdu restaurant. You already know my team ordered everything from the menu. The service here was really great, they were supper attentive, and overall we had a really great experience. We got the half and half hot pot with the chicken and mild sichuan pepper. The mild was pretty spicy for all of us spice lovers, so do not overestimate your spice tolerance here. We got a variety of meats and vegetables, as well as the seafood tower! Everything was super fresh and great quality. We also loved the tea that they served, and they had good appetizers and sauce bar.

Store is fairly new but already very crowded on Sunday night 8pm! And the food justifies the popularity. All ingredients are high quality (both meat and veggies) with a wide selection. They offer some exotic meats that are not common in other shops like black tripe, pig brains, kidney, etc. the plate size is bigger than most places. Soup bases are delicious. We ordered spicy beef tallow and pork bone broth this time. Beef tallow is a looooot of tallow. I usually like spicy food but I gotta say the bone broth really impresses me this time. So good that I drank as soup afterwards. Another huge plus is the sauce and side dish bar. The cucumber salad and spicy sweet clams are my favorite. Other snacks include edamame, fish skin, chicken feet, and cracker. What's not good is they stopped restocking fruits way before closing time.

We love this place (and we eat a lot of hot pot)! The ingredients are high quality, nice environment, friendly staff, and generous food bar (we love the mussels), and is ala carte. We have small kids and often dine with our parents, so we don't want to do AYCE as much anymore. I hope more people will come here so it will stay around!

4.5 stars rounded up due to great food ingredients. Ingredients are way above average & on the premium side. The final price is somewhat reasonable after forking out $16 to $20 for the hotpot soups. For party of 2, it's on the high side but for a party of 4, it's reasonable. All meats are sliced to perfection! Love the preparation by the chefs. Beef throat was sliced thin enough & quantity wad much more than i expected for the price. Pork kidney were sliced thin and large and makes hotpot cooking simple. And result is perfectly tender! Btw, soups we picked 2 half pots: 1. herbs 2. pork stomach/chicken. Both were excellent. Hand made shrimp paste is a must order. Tender & crunchy after cooking. Pork meatballs are ok. (Forgot to take pics). Veggies are nice & fresh (see pic). The star of the evening was the seafood platter: 3 abalone with shell, 6+ tiger shrimp, snakehead fish filets; and conch slices. Btw: $29 is a bargain Service is friendly and definitely has customer first attitude. Will be back to try their meat dishes.

I Love this Hot pot restaurant. The spicy soup base is excellent. So far is #1 for me in the bay area . Pork liver and chicken kidney are so good .

We've been to this spot over ten times now and absolutely love it! The beef tallow hot pot is super authentic--rich, flavorful, and aromatic. The coolest part? When they refill the broth, they actually add herbal tea into the beef tallow hot pot. Such a unique touch, haha. The meat quality is solid, and the mala beef is a must-try. Besides the meat, I especially love the mushroom platter, lotus root, and their fried rice. They also bring out free small side dishes like peanuts, cucumber, watermelon, orange slices, mussels, and chicken feet. The only downside is that the chicken feet are on the sweeter side--we personally prefer them salty and spicy rather than sweet. The restaurant is clean, hygienic, and the staff are always super friendly. Definitely a place we'll keep coming back to!

Taking on one of the fieriest hot pot broth challenges in the Bay Area at City Hot Pot in Fremont! The a la carte menu is a definite win--you can pick exactly what you crave without overloading your plate. Perfect for customizing your feast while keeping things balanced. Service is great, very attentive. Thank you One of the server, Lee's tips to remove extra spicy butter before melting in the broth. Ambiance is cute, love the tea set with floral.

When ayce sounds like too much, check out this a la carte hot pot place! Food: The meat quality was really good! We went as a party of 3, and it came out to about $40 per person. We left feeling very satisfied and full! Service: You place orders by scanning a QR code at the table, so ordering was easy but it weirdly took a long time (25min+) to get the raw meat and veggies... There was also a self-service sauce and food bar with some appetizers, like fried chicken wings (these were a little too hard and dry) and stir fried mussels (these were good). There were some delays on refills, but understandable since it was a pretty packed night.

I'd still return because the value is great and I hope value isn't the only reason it's so popular. I'd like to try more of the menu and find the dishes people love most. I usually research the popular dishes before I visit, but the menu here is so large that I simply chose a few that sounded good. In hindsight I wish I'd tried a few other dishes because I'm sure there are more winners on the menu since it is so well loved. Classic fried chicken (10/10): This was the clear winner. It tastes similar to Santung but not exactly the same. It was very crispy and garlicky with just the right sweetness. I'd order it again and again, and I'm now curious about their salt and pepper wings since they clearly do fried chicken well. Deep fried tofu in garlic sauce (7.5/10): It wasn't as crispy as I hoped. I'm not sure extra firm tofu is my favorite choice for this dish because I think a less firm tofu might work better. The garlic sauce was nice, but I could've used more of it. Honey walnut shrimp (5/10): The batter was far too thick. Almost pancake-like. Some bites were almost entirely batter and I barely tasted the shrimp. The flavor was good and the walnuts were enjoyable, but I'd skip this one next time. Hot and sour soup (7/10): This was surprisingly flat. It needed much more soy sauce and pepper and it had very little sourness. It was good after some adjustments. The fried chicken alone gives me a reason to return and I'm hopeful a different order will help me find more of what people love about this place.

My favorites were the salted egg yolk pumpkin (piping hot with so much flavor), deep fried tofu skin wraps with shrimp (super crispy wrap), and preserved egg pork porridge (always a hearty, warm comfort dish). This was a typical Cantonese style eatery where you would get together for family gatherings and/or to celebrate events. The decor had the usual elements that you would expect from such a place: crystal chandeliers, fish tanks, gold columns, and giant TV screens. We tried their 10-course banquet-style dinner that they were advertising for $488 (before tax) and I believe this special was only available on weekdays. Portion sizes were extremely generous, and they did not skimp on the ingredients either. The banquet courses included delicacies such as suckling pig, geoduck, whole fish, and lobster to name a few. This meal easily fed ten people, and we still had plenty of leftovers to take home. It was such a great value that towards the end of the evening the restaurant sold out of their banquet special. Overall, the food was pretty good...even though they did overcook the lobster. They have their own huge parking area, so it was super convenient. The dining area was very spacious. The service was casual and efficient. I went to dinner with no expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised. This place impressed my family that they even came back the next morning to try their dim sum.

That should have been the second red flag. We really wanted to like the food because of the service, but the food was greasy and super salty. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, house chow fun, and walnut prawns with egg rolls. Sweet and sour chicken was average--not good or bad. Chicken chow mein was in a pool of soy sauce, way too salty. House chow fun was supposed to have shrimp--it literally had two. This too was drenched in soy sauce. Lastly, the walnut prawns were not bad, but again, we can get those anywhere else--no need to come back here for them. Overall, probably will not be back for their food. It is really sad because we really enjoyed the service.

We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. Finally, the House Special Braised Dry Noodle was a bowl of noodles topped with a savory sauce with lots of different dried ingredients including tofu, s mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and red bell peppers. For each noodle dish, you could select from a variety of noodles, but my favorite by far was the 2cm "General Wide" noodles, which had an amazing chewy texture. Overall, this was a great restaurant for authentic Northern Chinese noodle dishes and other eats. Everything came out from the kitchen in just minutes after we ordered. The tasty dishes came at a good value, and the service was super friendly too!

This is way overdue. I have been patronizing this place for a long while. My family and I both love…read morethis; and I use the word *love*... that is how much we enjoy a meal there. Why haven't I written anything about this? Because we were too busy enjoying every slurp of broth, wrestling with every strand of slippery slurp-worthy noodles, and savoring every bite of melt-in-your-mouth tender meat. By the time I'm done, I'm typically in a food coma. Writing a review is the last thing on my mind. Once you sit at your table, look for a QR code. Use your brand-spanking-new phone, turn on the camera, and poof! You'll be directed to the menu, where you can order from there. Or you can use your brand-new iDuo (you know what I mean... hehehe). Ok, ok, I understand; some of us prefer the human touch, and with fading eyesight like mine, some of us prefer a physical menu. Just ask the staff; they'd be glad to hand you a huge menu board. You can also order directly from the staff. Personally, I love to poke around on my phone and browse until I find the noodles that will make my stomach growl. It's like online shopping, except the reward is a bowl of delicious noodles instead of another package arriving at your doorstep. My kids' go-to order is the braised pork rib noodle soup with thin noodles. The aroma of the rich, savory broth is complemented by five-spice seasoning and a hint of spiciness. Wonder how my kids handle the heat? They're 7 and 10 years old. It's not that spicy, but here's a tip: just note in your order that you'd like it *not too spicy*. The broth is already spicy, so they can't make it completely non-spicy, ok? Promise you won't be *that person*? Please? As for my wife, since she's trying to cut down on carbs a bit... just a bit, mind you... she typically opts for the wonton soup. A delicious bowl of savory, meat-filled dumplings swimming in a hot sea of seaweed broth. It's comforting, flavorful, and has more than enough dumplings to deliver a satisfying dose of protein and carbs to fill the stomach. See? Even when we're trying to eat a little healthier, we don't have to sacrifice good food. We're cutting down on carbs, not on happiness! Hehehe. I would typically order the Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup with thick, broad noodles. The clear, savory broth comes with green onions, chives, and cilantro (you can opt out of the cilantro if that's not your thing). Personally, I'd kill for that hot broth and the chewiness of those thick, broad noodles. Just thinking about it makes me hungry, especially with the fall weather we're having now. You can also add a splash of black vinegar and chili oil at the very end, right before I slurp up the broth faster than my wife can finish her boba milk tea. And trust me, that's saying something! As for the sides or appetizers, here are my recommendations: - **Braised Pork Pita Burger** -- A must-try if you want something delicious to go with your noodles. - **Mixed Salad (one piece)** -- A nice little something to balance out all that rich, savory goodness. - **House Special Numbing & Spicy Chicken** -- For those who enjoy a little kick and a little tingle on the tongue. - **Spicy Cold-Cut Beef** -- Yes, there's a lot of oil, but the flavor and aroma are ughhh... GOOD! You know that moment when you take a bite and your brain just goes, "Ohhh, yeah!"? That's the one. - **Chili Oil on Cold Mung Bean Jelly** -- It's a whole texture experience. Think of a firm, nutty jelly with a savory, spicy sauce. Don't knock it till you've tried it! You know what... I'll just keep going and going until there's not enough space left to write this review. At this rate, I'll end up writing a whole food memoir instead of a restaurant review. Just stop reading now and go. Seriously. GO! Don't worry, I won't stop you. I won't be offended either if you didn't read all my words. After all, you should be spending that time eating noodles, not reading about them. You're welcome. Now go slurp something delicious!
