Dry rice pan cake sauté w/ beef
Justin W.

This popular dim sum place rarely disappoints me. But lately the menu has changed quite a bit. We didn't go for the exotic dishes. Just want to see if the qualities also change. The traditional sauté beef dry noodles sold out. But the chef used a different type of rice pan cake to duplicate the flavor, which was not bad. The water spinach cooked with shrimp sauce was something new too. The hydroponic vegetable offered a different kind of texture, which was crispy and fresh. The seafood tofu hot pot brought in the smell and savory of assorted seafoods, Cantonese BBQ, and the tender fried tofus. The service was okay w/ just two waitresses running around. The only thing we felt was the quantity. The family size dishes forced us to do the takeout. I'd rather they prepare the regular size dishes and keep the price below $20/dish.

It's gourmet Generous portions Typical dimsum service and atmosphere My dad who generally doesn't comment on food: "the flavor here is pretty good"

We stopped by Gormet House based upon the recommendation of our hair stylist. They were pretty busy, but we placed a quick to-go order and killed some time by walking around the plaza they are situated in. Prices were on the higher end, but this was off-set by pretty large and generous portions. Although we ordered several dishes and enjoyed them all, our favorite was the mango mochi dessert. Consisting of 3, very large mango mochi's per order. Each mochi was stuffed full of chunks of fresh, sweet and delicious mango pieces. This plaza, although large, gets very busy so parking can get challenging.

String bean over fried too oily and too tough. Salted fish rice, fungus egg tofu seafood and deep fried flounder are delicious! They provided free dessert at night if you dine in

Lobster e-fu noodles - special as of June 2025

I came with a group people who really know dim sum and can recognize delicious Cantonese food, while I don't have much experience. We all agreed that the food was overall not delicious, and that it was sub par compared to what we would expect in the Bay Area. Easy to order as they provide you with a laminated menu and a whiteboard marker to mark the items. See accompanying pictures for the to go menu. Food we ordered that we really enjoyed: - shrimp and chive dumplings, this was in their pan fried section of the menu. Delicious and our favorite non dessert item. Strong start to our meal but unfortunately subsequent dishes disappointing - baked egg yolk buns, this was one of the best egg yolk buns we've had. Deliciously salted and creamy on the inside. Other notable food items, but not as flavorful: the lo mai gai, or rice wrapped in lotus leaf was interesting because there was salted egg yolk in it and a nice amount of sausage in it. The shrimp rice roll was also solid. The rest of the food was soooo disappointing. We even started wishing they had just added more salt as it was not flavorful at all. Unfortunately their lobster noodle dish they advertised was not delicious to us. Ambiance is ok - nothing fancy, quick to seat you (they had a few tables left open on a weekend).

Soooo good! Everything was so tasty! The roast duck was nicely cooked with crispy skin. Service was sort of slow but there were a lot of people so understandable. We came here last 1pm and there were still a lot of people. It's a traditional dim sum restaurant. Bathrooms could use a little help but overall we're happy to find this place.

Authentic Hong Kong cuisine, with an extensive menu! Be sure to come here for dim sum, or their Fresh lobster with noodles for $26.99! One my my favorite comfort foods is their beef with bitter Mellon with black bean sauce and garlic. I also recommend their abalone fried rice with black truffle.

We dropped a star because their famous lobster e-mein was not good. Watery dish. The price has gone up quite a bit and some dishes were even pricier than the bigger dim sum/seafood restaurant. I still love their staff. Other than the food went downhill a bit, I still find this place to be good.

They get busy on weekends. The dim sum are served piping hot after you order. Great location in Osaka supermarket mall. Simple decor inside, bright. Great for families and kid friendly. They make these adorable custard buns with little piggy face.

We ordered 10 plates. The pictures speak for themselves. Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was outstanding. I enjoyed the peaceful pictures on the wall. A plus they have TV showing the NBA game. Quick reminder, amazing food takes time to prepare!!!

The restaurant is nice mostly Chinese people. The food is good they have dim sum and also main dishes and a lot of different kind of Chinese dishes. The wait can be long sometimes over the holidays.

This is a classic. My parents and I to go here maybe once every month or two. They do good portion sizes for decent prices. Their egg shrimp rice is really good and I love their tofu. Recommend calling ahead of time to order.

Dessert ( taro sago)

We were here for Lunar New Year dinner on last Saturday ( 2/28/2026). The food tasted good and we were satisfied. We were here before back on Oct 4, 2025 for mid- autumn festival dinner.

Chicken with bitter melon. The bitter melon was mild tasting and tolerable for someone who doesn't like bitter melon.

They offer Jasmine hot tea or chrysanthemum hot tea, and water when requested. Again pretty typical Dim Sum experience, nothing too extravagant or out of the ordinary, and a bit pricey. I would go here again with my family, probably not first choice though

We ordered some of our usual dim sum favorites, including shiu mai, har gow, chicken feet, steamed pork ribs in black bean sauce, and the shrimp spring rolls. Everything tasted really good, and the portions were generous! Even though they don't have a huge selection, they do have most of the classic dim sum dishes I like, so I had no complaints. The flavors were spot on, even without soy sauce, and I didn't feel thirsty after the meal at all, which is already a good sign. I was a bit disappointed with the har gow wrapper because it was a bit too floury. The shrimp spring rolls were fried so much that the shape completely changed, and I couldn't recognize them at first. Overall, we paid around $38ish for two people, which was a really good value for the portion sizes. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I noticed that a lot of people were ordering takeout as well. Highly recommended!

While it's great that they are trying to bring it back to more of a restaurant, I'm disappointed while doing that, they've also changed the menu up. While it is still considered a Hong Kong Style Cafe, I preferred the original menu when they had first opened up, and now they've changed it. They added the baked rice dishes, and Hong Kong Style BBQ Meats and have gotten rid of the more previously offered Cantonese style dishes. Our most recent visit, we ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice Combo, Roast Duck Rice Plate and Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup. The rice places come with a drink, so that is a plus there. They weren't anything spectacular, same with the noodle soup we ordered. The customer service here was ok, the staff was nice, no complaints there. The ambiance is ok, it's kinda dark inside, and they have a little lamp at the table for lighting. Too dark in my opinion. Overall, I think they should add back the previous items they offered when they first opened, the menu items were better and more vast.

The flavor is comforting and well-balanced without being overly salty, and the texture is smooth and satisfying. I highly recommend pairing it with their dough stick (youtiao). It's crispy on the outside, slightly chewy inside, while still staying light and fluffy. Dipping it into the congee completely changes the experience and honestly feels like a must-order combination. Another standout for me is the steamed spareribs with black bean and taro. The spareribs are tender and flavorful, and the black bean sauce adds a savory depth without overpowering the dish. Service continues to be efficient and well-organized, even when busy. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant is especially popular with elderly customers, which honestly says a lot about the food being comforting, traditional, and consistent. Almost every table had some combination of congee, rice rolls, and steamed dishes, which seems to be the way to go here. The Shrimp Rice Rolls are the clear star--the rice noodle is incredibly smooth and thin, which is the mark of a great chang fen. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles. The Pork Congee is also a winner; it's silky, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a cold day or when you're craving something soothing. We also grabbed the Shiu Mai, which were plump and well-seasoned with a great meat-to-shrimp ratio. The kitchen is efficient, and the flavors are consistently authentic. I will say that there are limited amounts of space, but as soon as you strike up a conversation with the owner, she will make you feel like home. The food portions were a little bit on the smaller side, given the storefront and how small it is, so I found it a little surprising. But the dishes we got tasted super fresh and made with the heart.
