    fish with cream corn sauce
    Olivia C.

Came in on a Sunday right when they opened with a party of six, and the owner immediately mentioned that the maximum table size was five and that I should have called ahead. The whole restaurant was empty, so this created a slightly awkward vibe for the meal. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained. The owner was also very nice, though we weren't sure if she was making up for the first impression or felt a bit guilty about coming across as abrupt. The food overall was just okay and on the salty side. The fried fish with cream corn sauce, which I was excited to share with my parents because it's their favorite dish from back in Hong Kong, was disappointing and lacked much of the cream corn sauce. We also had the green beans, sweet-and-sour pork, ribs, and fried rice, which were all fairly salty. The highlight of the meal was the honey walnut prawns, which exceeded expectations. Overall, I'm not sure I'd come back, but it's worth noting that they offer 10% off for takeout and there's an 18% surcharge for groups of six or more. I'd highly recommend calling ahead, as the owner suggested, since it's a small space.

Another quick update! We were in need of some comforting food again and we decided to try out their Cream corn fish filet and also indulged in fried rice. If you order to-go, you get a 10% discount which is nice. It was good and yes, the crispiness does get hidden by the sauce, but I didn't mind it at all. But if you do want the crispy fish to remain crispy, you may want to ask for the sauce on the side which does cost extra unless they changed that policy. It's a small place so if you do plan on eating in, do make sure you ask if there's room. Folks here are always quite nice and we can easily pay by card. We're still exploring the menu here and there but we usually grab the Fish fillet with sweet shanxi vinegar sauce if you like a bit of a tangy sauce and fried fish. Parking is also not that hard though it is a small lot. I've never seen the parking lot full so easy parking here! Overall, it's good a place to grab some no nonsense Chinese food with friendly service. Definitely check them out!

Wontons with Spicy Sauce. I did NOT like this dish at all. Didn't like the sauce and the wontons had a weird texture!

I've been to EE Home Cooking a few times. They serve good food and at a reasonable price. Their Lunch Specials, which are only offered Monday through Friday, are the best value on the menu. Most of the food I've tasted has been pretty good! When I'm in the area and crave Chinese food, I usually end up at EE Hone Cooking. This place is fairly small! Although they do have about 5 small tables for dine-in, most orders are to-go. A couple run the business. Service is good, but I've only been in when it's not too busy.

Local chinese joint across from Ohlone college. Went on a Monday night and had a lovely dinner! Its a small local spot and was pretty empty but very clean. Tasty authentic chinese dishes. My favorite was the green bean beef. It had great flavor and was super tender! The corn fish could use some more flavor but was still good and crispy. We asked if they could do a black bean chow fun (not on their menu) and they were very accomodating. It wasnt the best but we appreciated the effort. Interested to come back and try more dishes. Service was good. The waitress was fast and friendly! The only strange thing was she mentioned the first cup of water was free but refills are .50! So we only drank one cup each. No biggie, but something to note.

This is very much my go-to place to stop by when I need to visit my parent's house to run errands (feed outdoor cats, water plants, pick up packages, pick up mail, etc.) whenever they go on vacations, which coincidentally happens at least once or twice a month. First off, parking is actually very easy. There's a really big parking lot behind the restaurant for the entire strip mall. Second, it's a bit hard to find, but there's a sign and look around for it. It's a very cozy building, but also very clean, very nice, well-lit, basically everything is nice. I feel like this is what eating Chinese food as a Hobbit in the Lord of Rings would be like. Anyways, Chinese cuisine is very broad umbrella - the cuisine herespecifically appears to mostly be Southern Coastal Chinese classics. The owners are fluent in Mandarin, but I've also seen them speak a different Chinese language (not sure which one - probably Hokkien, Cantonese, or Hakka?) Anyways, they do all of these dishes very well. The standouts to me are the clay pots because the food comes out piping hot and stays hot - and the noodle soups, which are absolutely massive (you get SO MANY NOODLES) and which come in the same pots as the clay pots which means it also comes out piping hot and stays hot. Honestly, I'm shocked that more restaurants don't service noodle soups in this format because it's absolutely fantastic. I think the lifeblood of the restaurant is takeaway orders - you see a lot of people stop by and pick up food. But the dine-in experience is actually fantastic as well and it's a shame more people don't do it. The pricing is also pretty good, especially by 2024 Bay Area Chinese food standards. Hugely recommended for coastal Chinese food - it's probably one of THE best places in Fremont - maybe the entire Southeast Bay - to get it.

Still the GOAT for Chinese food in Fremont. Food is always piping hot and made to order. Their lunch specials are always so generous for the price. Some great dishes we've tried are the orange peel beef, honey walnut prawns, prawns with lobster sauce, and stir fried chicken with broccoli. Always so flavorful and the service is always so friendly and sweet. They're open for dine in so stop by and grab a bite (or three) :)

Easily one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Only a handful of tables for dine-in but it does quite brisk takeout business. One of my favorite spots for walnut prawns. The beef stew is also very popular, but everything I've had is good. The service is always welcoming and very friendly. 15% service charge automatically added to the check but feel free to leave more.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of them were fantastic. As my friend mentioned, a little bit saucier than you'd typically find in China, but still good. And we ordered everything extra spicy. The "Premium stir-fried beef with yellow peppers (with broth, Angus beef with brisket fat)" was a great saucy start to the meal, it had a nice sour flavor to go with the mild-medium heat and was very fresh tasting. "Husband and Wife Lung Slices" was good, standard and a smidge oily, but tasty. The tendons (there are no lungs, just beef and beef tendons) were cooked nicely, with just a hint of chew but tender. Again mild-medium "Stone Pot Flavored Frog" is where things started to get really good. This was one of the best dishes of the night, and the best frog I've ever had. So tender, with a nice crispy exterior, and so much flavor. This was delicious. If you've never tried frog, this is the one to get. A nice break from the heat was "Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Greens". I was told that this was a bit leaner than what you'd expect in China, but for me the meltingly soft, rich pork belly and chewy greens made into little mantou-tacos was great. It has a nice sweet/sour flavor and zero heat. Now, by far the spiciest dish we ordered was "Double Pepper Chicken Noodles". Delicious noodles, fresh chilies, great almost crispy texture from the wok, but this was firmly in medium-hot category. Everyone started to sweat and get runny noses eating this one. But the flavor was addictive. Some notes - the parking lot is big, but you may have to walk a bit. This is because this restaurant on a Saturday night was absolutely packed. I came around 6:30 and there were 9 tables on the waitlist ahead of me. I wouldn't say it moved quickly, and the area to wait in is cramped. So best bet is to come early or go wait somewhere else. They have an online waitlist that sends a text when your table is ready, so there's no need to stick around being jostled by people entering and exiting. Service was efficient. My friend ordered (in Mandarin) so I didn't follow what was happening, but the food arrived very hot and very quickly, and they nicely pack up your leftovers themselves. Overall - fantastic. I found some new favorites, had some good versions of things I already like, and while it certainly isn't cheap it was worth it. Oddly enough they added an 18% tip automatically. Fair enough, I would normally tip 20% for dinner but if 18% works I'm not complaining. Unfortunately the location isn't convenient for me and the food would be a bit challenging for most of my friends, so I probably won't be back soon. But anyone who wants some authentic and spicy and interesting Chinese dishes would be happy coming here.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

We ordered 2 dry noodles and a cold spicy pig ears appetizer. The pig ears were piled up with no fillers - something hard to find these days. You can select the type of noodles so I picked the widest while my husband picked the middle one. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt. Overall the food was good, service was decent as we were offered actual menu instead of only using QR code to order. The place was not small with plenty of table. A bit noise as with all Chinese restaurants.
