麻婆豆腐Mapo Tofu

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite compared to some other places in the area. My friend and I were looking forward to the intestines but unfortunately they don't make it anymore. We diverted and ended up getting mapo tofu, pork belly, and chogqing chicken. There wasn't that extra kick that I feel like most other Hunan places may have. Service was good. They were attentive to refilling water and gave us or check quickly when we asked for it. The place is also quite clean, spacious, and looks nice. There's a parking lot up front as well.

My friends and I came for a late lunch around 1 PM. After ordering, all four dishes arrived extremely quickly--within about 5 to 10 minutes. We ordered the Chongqing-Style Spicy Chicken, sautéed eggplant with string beans, steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables, and the boiled spicy fish fillet with pickled cabbage. Overall, the food was delicious. Our surprise favorite was the eggplant dish. As you'll see in the photo, the spicy chicken looks buried under chili peppers, but there's actually a generous amount of chicken underneath. A solid Chinese spot--slightly on the pricier side, but worth it if you're looking to treat yourself.

Came here after seeing my friend post a picture of this garlic fish, and she told us it was so good. So we got the yellow croaker fish and it was indeed very delicious. My family are not into spicy foods but it looks like this place serves lots of spicy food. Good thing they were able to accommodate not spicy on all our orders. So, that's a big plus with my family bcuz we have been places where they can't adjust how spicy the dish is. Love the decoration of the place, very modern feel with the murals style walls. Everything went well but one thing we noticed is all our food all had the same taste. Might be the sauces used were all the same. Fish was definitely worth it.

My co-worker wanted me to try this place so she ordered for us on doordash. I was amazed how good the food was and it still had great presentation for being a to go order. I love spicy and garlic and the dishes were packin with those flavors! Today's order: Sliced pork in spicy garlic sauce with cucumber 10/10 Eggplant with grind peppers 10/10 Sautéed eggplant with string beans 9/10 The pork and cucumber in spicy garlic sauce is incredibly delicious! Served cold and it's surprisingly refreshing. The sauce is more like chili oil and also has bean sprouts inside soaked up in that chili oil. I loved everything about this dish. Never had cold eggplant before but wow it was really good with lots of flavor and the green chili's in there are super spicy! Sautéed eggplant with string beans were good, could be a little more spicy but was still really good. String beans had good crunch too. Will keep coming back for sure.

This place had a long wait line on a Saturday night. After the meal, I feel that it worth the wait because the dishes that my party ordered were so good. My favorite were the lotus root soup and the steam eggs entrees. The other 5 dishes are good too. Prices are towards the expensive side, but the portion was big. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very nice too. I had a very enjoyable dinner experience here. Definitely recommend you give this place a try.

I've been thinking about/craving the food here for weeks since I tried it. Everything we had was flavorful, rich, and delicious, and most things were at least a little bit spicy. We had a party of 4 on a Saturday for dinner and there was a pretty long wait (at least 30 mins), so just be prepared for that weekend crowd. Top picks of the menu were the two pork dishes we got -- pork belly with preserved veggies and sliced pork in garlic sauce. I was honestly full midway through the meal but kept eating because that's how good it was! Will definitely be back.

My friend took me to this place and I enjoyed trying lots of new flavors and foods! Our eyes were bigger than our stomaches so we over ordered but we wanted to try everything! - kumquat green tea: comes with gelled chia seeds and it's the perfect refresher to wash everything down. On the sweeter side but in a good way - rice with house special: flavorful pork knuckle (not too gristly but watch out for a few pieces of cartilage) with pickled spicy cabbage and rice. Don't fill up too soon because there's so much more to eat! - bitter melon: I had always to try this. It was bitter but nicely offset from the copious amounts of garlic. My friend also reported it was on the milder side of bitter for reference - one of the stir fried greens: I forgot which, but it was tasty - steamed egg with oyster mushrooms: need to learn how to make this when I'm sick it was so comforting - lemongrass fish: so flavorful with herbs and so flaky. Lots of bones so watch out when eating - braised chicken with wood ear mushrooms: this was the only disappointment. $40 for a small amount of chicken and mushrooms and the chicken was mostly bone and cartilage? Logistics: - mostly indoor seating with one outdoor folding table - strip mall parking right outside - we waited about 10-15 min for 3 people on a Saturday night, it's popular

Our family's favorite Chinese restaurant in the area! The cauliflower dry pot is our favorite but we love how they have seasonal dishes they switch out once in awhile. My mom doesn't eat pork and they always great about modifying certain dishes to not use lard.

Returned with friends who like spicy food, its the same old oily greasy food. All I could taste was chili oil, salt & hot pepper. No wonder my none-Chinese friends never want Chinese food when we go out...sigh

This is a very upscale Sichuan restaurant. One of the only places that get really spicy. While I like a lot of Malay and they do not disappoint! The service is outstanding. I have enjoyed each dish. I highly recommend this place.

Pretty great Sichuan style restaurants in the are. The food has always been consistently good for us and even keeps well when ordered as delivery. We are big fans of the fried rice as well as the stir fried vegetables here. The restaurant itself is a little small but cozy. If you have a party of four I would try to get one of the booths in the middle of the room. Service is quick and professional and the food comes out quick. If you aren't a spice veteran you can certainly ask them to tone down the spiciness for you, they're very accommodating for adjustments. Plenty of vegetarian options as well if there are diet restrictions. Check them out if you get the chance to! They're popular enough that they recently expanded to Socal in Hacienda Heights!

Pings bistro offers an exhilarating dining experience with its bold, spicy flavors, heavily featuring peppers and Sichuan spices. The dishes pack a punch, delivering a fiery yet tantalizing taste that leaves a lasting sting on the tongue as the numbing spice is powerful! (Some say the spice will make your eyes blue if you consume for a long time) For those who relish intense heat and authentic Sichuan cuisine, Pings bistro is a popular spot for many Chinese folks and if you are looking for quality & spicy Chinese food - this is it!

Mapo tofu
Winnie V.

My friend and I love Szechuan food, so I'm always searching for new Szechuan places to try! My go to's are always mapo tofu, spicy fish fillet in chili oil, and chongqing spicy fried chicken. I first tried Ping's bistro around a year ago and I remember it being amazing! We got spicy fish fillet (which was super smooth), a lamb chop dish (which was super flavorful and not too gamey), and an eggplant appetizer (which was slightly tangy, nice and refreshing). That's all to say I've been meaning to come back and try all my usual go to dishes! So I went back to Ping's bistro today with my mom, and we got the usual mapo tofu, chongqing spicy fried chicken, and a beef tripe appetizer. The mapo tofu was so good! Super flavorful, good chunks of meat in the sauce, and the tofu was so soft and smooth. It was a little bit salty though, so definitely need to load up on the rice. The fried chicken was good, but they cut up the pieces quite small, so each piece wasn't as satisfying. I've definitely had better at other places. The beef tripe was decent. It was nice to balance the heat of the other dishes with a cold dish (though still spicy cause I love that spice)! I didn't realize that it would come with small bits of century egg though, which is not my favorite. Overall decent, but I wouldn't order it again. Finally, I got an iced kumquat drink with chia seeds and it was fantastic. Perfect way to cool down after a spicy meal! If I'm in the mood for Szechuan food, I'd definitely go back! Still want to try some of their other dishes.

Did the restaurant recently move?

They should still be at the same location, I just saw them last week. But they did recently open a second location.

Do they have gluten free dish or menu?

The spicy tripe dish should be gluten free.

I wanna book a table (7-8 people) for tmr night at 7:00pm. But no one answers the phone. Is that a wrong num?

I dont know, sorry. This place tends to run very much like its sitting in China. So, you might be better off just dropping by to ask. Otherwise you will be sitting outside for quite a while where there is no seating.

When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

They also respected my comment for mild spicy, and it was one of the only times I drank almost all the soup since I did not taste artificial powders or too much white pepper. The Chili Oil noodle was also ordered with mild spice, and the noodles were so chewy and perfect, I can't wait to come back here already!
