This is a takeout-only spot with solid offerings that will satisfy a craving for American Chinese food. Their sweet and sour fish is a standout, the fish pieces were large and fried really nicely. Their fried rice tastes similar to Panda Express fried rice in my opinion. I was hoping for a wok aroma taste but that was not present. Haven't been here in a long time. It's now to go only. You cannot walk inside as soon as you open the door there are tables there a person will come greet you and take your order. At first, I thought they were closed because it looked dark inside, but as I drove by the front door, I saw an open sign. I believe they do that for safety reasons, not so much germs, but maybe because they are in such a secluded area that they might become a target for robberies ? I came in for their lunch specials they arranged from $14-$15 which includes steamed rice only if you want fried with a dollar more. I got Kung Pao chicken with fried rice lunch special. The Kung pow chicken was made slightly different than when I'm used to, but it wasn't too bad but next time I'll try something else. Had to wait 10 minutes for my order. Super friendly and love that this is a local family business. Food is a solid 4 and the service a 5. The food is so tasty and unexpectedly flavorful - the spice sneaks up on you for some dishes. Tasty Chinese Kitchen is on DoorDash and even when DoorDashed, the food was still hot and crispy surprisingly. We thought that the food was absolutely delicious, but as with most Chinese food, the food got overwhelming without any relief. I wish Chinese food included white rice but you have to order it a la carte. If you're looking for actually tasty (no pun intended) Chinese food, then this is definitely a good restaurant to try out. This is a decent place for your usual Chinese food cravings. They are still only open for take out. They are located at Newpark Mall, but not in the mall, but by the furniture places. When we came to pick up our order on a Friday night, the place was like a ghost town. As for the food, they've got all the basics covered, and most of it was pretty good. I found some of the meats a bit tough and the broccoli too. I liked that the chicken were breast slices and not cubes of mystery chicken. What we ordered: + Combination chow mein - noodles were good and not mushy. Quite good. + Broccoli beef - good flavor but beef and broccoli were both pretty tough. The broccoli was pretty fibrous. + Mongolian chicken - chicken was slices of breast meat, but it was also a little tough. Maybe a bit overcooked. But good spice level. + Honey walnut prawns - the prawns were over-battered but the sauce made the dish very yummy and addicting. Only found 3 walnuts in the dish though. Ordered: Salt and pepper fried chicken wings Salt and pepper shrimp Honey walnut shrimp Hot and sour soup (s) Chicken and mushrooms Combination fried rice Combination chow mein The chicken wings were bland and boring The salt and pepper shrimp is not the usually kind with the shrimp shells. It was unshelled, battered and fried. The batter was this puffy soggy mess from my ten minute drive from the restaurant back home. The hot and sour soup was solid with same chock full of veggies and delish-ness The chicken and mushroom was gross tons of cornstarch holding it together with a handful of mushrooms tons of squash and carrots. Bland, boring, and cornstarch-ladened. They got nothing on Panda Express Combination fried rice was bland and I don't know if they overcooked the eggs or used leftover egg bits from another dish but they were hard and overcooked and so hard not to miss The chow mein was fine. Nothing great but at least nothing bad either. In a nutshell this $109 was def not worth the price tag or inconvenience to come out to the boons of Newpark mall. It is in between the old Toys R Us and the old TJ Maxx in the old broken down strip mall behind Newpark mall. Don't let that stop you, and don't worry about the cardboard and saran wrapped door... The Garlic tofu was out of this world spectacular and spicy as hell, loved it. My lips were tingling. In one dish close to half a cup of jalapenos... Sweet and sour chicken is perfect! Not too saucy, not too little sauce, all White meat chicken thankfully. Chow mein is perfect! Flavorful, not too oily, and the onions they use are so tasty. Sautéed brocolli w/garlic sauce is very good. Crisp broccoli, with a little kick of spice. But the spice does not linger. Leaving it at 4 stars for now but I'm concerned. One of my favorites here was pork with garlic sauce. It's no longer available. They're now offering 'Crispy Pork With Garlic Sauce'. Crispy is a misnomer. It should be titled 'Mushy'. What was once a generous portion of shredded pork has turned into tiny pieces of pork encased in huge mushy, gelatinous dough balls. It feels like an attempt to cut costs. If quality of other menu items drop, I'll downgrade this review and take my business elsewhere. I'm seeing similar comments in other reviews that quality and customer service are declining. In addition, several other menu items are no longer available. Too bad the owners don't understand it's not good business practice to downgrade their food. They'll learn their lesson soon enough. read more

This place customer service has gone to shit! I use to love coming here and ever since the pandemic they have raised their prices and their attitude. In the past we use to be able to substitute wonton soup and egg rolls for another (one item) from their family meal deal and now they don't. The owner has the audacity to say they've never done that which is a flat out LIE. I came to order a large wonton soup to go and had to use my card, they charge an extra dollar for any orders under $25 on your card. The money is not the problem but their attitude definitely is! Tofu chicken, king pao chicken , Singapore rice noodles, and a ton of others. They are a little pricey but that's because Everyone is now. I find for about $54 I can get About 3-4 Dishes that can serve A Family of four for Two meals. Absolutely a five star review for me. I ordered the orange chicken to pick up through grub hub. When arriving to the restaurant, I second guessed my choice. The strip mall here really seems like a ghost town. My mind was quickly made up when the person helping me handed me my order, it smelled SO good. What really made this experience above others was when I asked for a receipt for business records, they brought back the receipt and an additional bag with a plate, fork, napkin, and soy sauce. Anyone who has stayed an extended period of time in a hotel can appreciate this extra touch. I am very grateful! The orange chicken is amazing. Hot, crispy, full of flavor. Only thing I will do differently next time is order a side of rice or noodles, since the chicken is served over a small serving of lettuce. Really used to enjoy this place. I ordered walnut chicken and the whole dish had a total of three walnuts. Plus veg chow mien had very few vegetables. Plus the fact they only do takeout. I really enjoy just sitting in there delivered fresh from kitchen and having tea. Young girl at window was soooo rude when I ordered and asked why they haven't had fortune cookies the last two times I've been there. She just shrugged her shoulders and was like "whatever." 3 years later and it's still the best place for chow mein. I'm obsessed and no other place has been able to compare. We haven't tried anything that wasn't good. Currently, I'm also in love with their sesame chicken. I also love that it's owned by a family and we've seen their children doing homework while helping out at the restaurant where they can. Because it's a family owned restaurant, I love that they sometimes close for a certain amount of time just for vacation or whatever they need to do to be with family. We really do try and take pictures of the food, but my family enjoys it so much we forget the pictures and empty containers just dont do the dishes justice they are so good! Today the electricity went out and we had not had breakfast or lunch waiting, so we ordered. It was delicous we doubled up the chow mein hopeing to have some left over, but I should have known its gone LOL. I hardly every post on Yelp but Tasty is not what it once was. Tasty USED to be my all-time favorite restaurant in the Newark/Fremont area 5+ years ago. I've tried almost all of their dishes and loved them all, especially the General Tsao chicken. It breaks my heart to see how dramatically their quality has gone down. It's to the point now where this is an issue of integrity. This picture is of the General Tsao chicken...or should I say, General Tsao Fried Flour dish. A whopping 80% of the dish is fried flour and almost half of the individual pieces has ZERO chicken inside. WTF Tasty. You used to be my pride and joy in Fremont. The last time I was there I complained to their waitstaff about too much flour in their Hunan beef but the chicken was fine. But now every single damn dish is now 80% flour. Even the honey walnut prawns. So this is my break up letter to you Tasty. It's been like a relationship that started off with fireworks that over years got worse and worse.
