Tasty Chinese Kitchen is on DoorDash and even when DoorDashed, the food was still hot and crispy surprisingly. We thought that the food was absolutely delicious, but as with most Chinese food, the food got overwhelming without any relief. I wish Chinese food included white rice but you have to order it a la carte. If you're looking for actually tasty (no pun intended) Chinese food, then this is definitely a good restaurant to try out. Hoping that one day I can go and enjoy their food in person!

Front entrance. Like a ghost town here.

This is a decent place for your usual Chinese food cravings. They are still only open for take out. They are located at Newpark Mall, but not in the mall, but by the furniture places. When we came to pick up our order on a Friday night, the place was like a ghost town. As for the food, they've got all the basics covered, and most of it was pretty good. I found some of the meats a bit tough and the broccoli too. I liked that the chicken were breast slices and not cubes of mystery chicken. What we ordered: + Combination chow mein - noodles were good and not mushy. Quite good. + Broccoli beef - good flavor but beef and broccoli were both pretty tough. The broccoli was pretty fibrous. + Mongolian chicken - chicken was slices of breast meat, but it was also a little tough. Maybe a bit overcooked. But good spice level. + Honey walnut prawns - the prawns were over-battered but the sauce made the dish very yummy and addicting. Only found 3 walnuts in the dish though. Overall, pretty decent but didn't blow me away.

No entry. Only a pick up window

Just came here again for Chinese food and a solid 3 I def should have stuck to my normal order. Or maybe it's just the changing times. I def was less impressed this time around. Ordered: Salt and pepper fried chicken wings Salt and pepper shrimp Honey walnut shrimp Hot and sour soup (s) Chicken and mushrooms Combination fried rice Combination chow mein The chicken wings were bland and boring The salt and pepper shrimp is not the usually kind with the shrimp shells. It was unshelled, battered and fried. The batter was this puffy soggy mess from my ten minute drive from the restaurant back home. The hot and sour soup was solid with same chock full of veggies and delish-ness The chicken and mushroom was gross tons of cornstarch holding it together with a handful of mushrooms tons of squash and carrots. Bland, boring, and cornstarch-ladened. They got nothing on Panda Express Combination fried rice was bland and I don't know if they overcooked the eggs or used leftover egg bits from another dish but they were hard and overcooked and so hard not to miss The chow mein was fine. Nothing great but at least nothing bad either. In a nutshell this $109 was def not worth the price tag or inconvenience to come out to the boons of Newpark mall. I am not sure if I can come back here so the hunt is back on for a local Chinese spot.

LOVED THIS! Garlic Tofu. Super spicy, super delicious...

Thanks to my fellow yelpers I found this place. According to Yelp reviews it has been here for a long time. It is in between the old Toys R Us and the old TJ Maxx in the old broken down strip mall behind Newpark mall. Don't let that stop you, and don't worry about the cardboard and saran wrapped door... Call in your order. They don't take online orders or door dash type of service's per the sign near door. Maybe you have seen on the news the outrageous fee's those types of delivery services are charging the restaurants. I applaud them for sticking up for themselves in this pandemic! I understand those of you that use those services will be inconvenienced. This is a very small local family owned place, with delicious Chinese food. I am so glad I found it... Wor Won Ton soup 4.5/5 Shrimp fried rice light in color, delicious 5/5 I normally like darker fried rice. The color doesn't affect the flavor here... The Garlic tofu was out of this world spectacular and spicy as hell, loved it. My lips were tingling. In one dish close to half a cup of jalapenos... I took them out! 5/5 This place will be my go to place for Chinese food. I loved the food and it has a large menu I will have to try lots of their offerings in the future. 5 stars for the food alone. They also seem to be taking Covid-19 precautions pretty seriously... the wrapped door they put the food through a slit to you seemed pretty safe...

    Beef chow fun(9.75)
    Victor G.

Tasty has the standard Americanized Chinese menu. currently, no lunch specials, no dine in, just take out. eats: Beef Chow Fun (9.75) -huge portion, tasted semi-greasy, not much else. -mostly fresh rice noodles, tender beef slices, onions, green onions, bean sprouts, celery with generic soy sauce flavor. -no "wok hay" dried stir fry infused flavor at all. not like chef is holding & shaking wok with left hand, and using spatula with right hand to quickly toss & stir fry the chow fun et al. 3.5 stars for value. unlike fusion places wanting $13 and it tasting worse.

Sweet and Sour Chicken, with veggie fried rice.
    Kent M.

Sweet and sour chicken is perfect! Not too saucy, not too little sauce, all White meat chicken thankfully. Chow mein is perfect! Flavorful, not too oily, and the onions they use are so tasty. Sautéed brocolli w/garlic sauce is very good. Crisp broccoli, with a little kick of spice. But the spice does not linger. They use jalapeños in almost everything, including the sesame chicken, so if you do not like that it the added spice just tell them. They are super nice people!

    Orange Chicken
    Ashleigh P.

Absolutely a five star review for me. I ordered the orange chicken to pick up through grub hub. When arriving to the restaurant, I second guessed my choice. The strip mall here really seems like a ghost town. My mind was quickly made up when the person helping me handed me my order, it smelled SO good. What really made this experience above others was when I asked for a receipt for business records, they brought back the receipt and an additional bag with a plate, fork, napkin, and soy sauce. Anyone who has stayed an extended period of time in a hotel can appreciate this extra touch. I am very grateful! The orange chicken is amazing. Hot, crispy, full of flavor. Only thing I will do differently next time is order a side of rice or noodles, since the chicken is served over a small serving of lettuce. I will absolutely return, this was a great first impression.

    Kung Pao Prawns
    Nikita K.

Tried their Kung Pao prawns and chicken fried rice last evening, so fresh and so delicious! The prawns were wonderfully plump and juicy and the rice was a perfect accompaniment. Only wish there was more 'wok hei' flavor for the rice.

All the classics! That's Wonton Soup in the container.

While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

The rice cake (well not really a cake but inverted sticky rice cup) was cold and where is the pork floss? The chicken rolls were decent, the best dish. I didn't try the fried intestines but was told there were okay. The stinky tofu not really stinky. I think it is because we are in the US and many restaurants stopped selling this due to complaints. I can take that but the dipping sauce was lacking with no garlic flavor. The other items were nothing to write home about. We were waiting for our stir fried seafood noodles and finally waved down someone only to find out it is out, but no one told us. So we ordered pork chop bento as we saw the next table had one and the portion was amazing. Well, someone must have eaten our order in the kitchen as ours was half of the size as what we saw from the other table. The decor was very simple and as with most Asian restaurant it was noisy. But I was there for the food so no problem. But the food didn't deliver.

Don't let the fair pricing fool you, it is a really nice restaurant!! The interior is incredibly clean & well maintained, it's a whole experience having dinner there. After dinner (if you have children, this is key) they give you a scoop of ice cream, which is included with your dinner / lunch. I took my little daughter there once, for lunch, during daddy-daughter day. She REALLY enjoyed it. They have great meat options & the noodles, vegetables, etc - you go grab yourself, buffet style. So you go load a plate with whatever you'd like to add to your cook pot, along with the meat. They have little soft boiled quail eggs that you can add to your pot - HIGHLY recommend!! They have, if I recall, 4 or 5 different soup bases to choose from. I've had three thus far & they have all been incredibly good. PLEASE NOTE - the spicy one is no joke, I am a spicy food connoisseur & I will admit, even on my "0-10" scale, that red spicy soup base was easily an 8. Interestingly enough albeit very spicy, the red soup base has excellent flavor; in other words it's not just pure pain & terror & capsaicin overdose... It's spicy AND very flavorful. Give these guys a try!! We will definitely be returning, although this has to be more of a quarterly thing. As eating hot pot with little kids is NOT easy for parents - constantly making sure they don't spill boiling soup on themselves. What we did was asked for a bowl / plate; so we could serve the children the various meats, noodles, vegetables after they were cooked... Also to prevent the children from sticking spoons into a vigorously boiling pot. (SAFETY NOTE - the cook pots are directly in the table, built-in cooktops. So be vigilant with small children. The wait staff will give you a tutorial on how to increase/decrease the heat on the burner and/or how to shut it off when you're done cooking. Aside from my concern of the children burning themselves, it is an EXCELLENT experience for kids nevertheless).
