    Dumpster, not restaurant!

This place is going downhill. It used to be our go to for a quick meal. Now it looks like a dumpster. The food has no taste. The bathroom didn't have any toilet paper.

Whenever I'm in Fremont especially if I'm shopping at the hub--this is my go-to spot. I always order the combination wonton noodle soup and fried taro flour cake while my husband always gets the fried rice and fried chicken. Food is always good, comforting, and hits the spot every time. Service is fast and there's plenty of booths to sit at. It's a no frills type of restaurant and food is overall decent, affordable, and fulfilling.

The quality has stayed the same for years and the prices haven't changed too much. They have so many delicious dishes but I would suggest inviting multiple people so you can eat "family style" and try a little bit of everything. The restaurant is a bit older and it hasn't been renovated but it's not too bad.

Food: 3.6 Service: 3.2 fast & efficient We've been coming here for years, but never wrote review. So here it goes; an old school eatery where you see the service counter and and brunch of tables that reminds me of my school desk with a lift top (yup showing my age again) so you know it's a no frills no thrills type of restaurant. But is the food good = YES! The restaurant has the majority of menu items by pictures so if you eat with your eyes then you'll have problems choosing what to eat. But since we've eaten here we order our go to: #23 crispy noodle combination (aka: bird's nest), fried chicken wings, and #82 spicy beef stew with wonton & egg noodle. Food comes out fast and portions can be easily shared (just ask for an extra bowl or plate). As for the taste, the food is seasoned right and sauces are on the table if you want more heat to your liking. Service is simple: order, serve, then pay at the counter (by table number); but this is nothing new with most noodle places. But if you need anything literally just raise your hand like back in school and someone comes to help you. Like I said old school: NO frills NO thrills just good food and fast efficient service that we'll continue to support!

We went to King Noodle in Fremont today, and overall, it was solid. It's essentially identical to New Tung Kee Noodle House in San Jose--the broth, the menu, everything--so if you like New Tung Kee (which we do) then this is a great option. That said the ambiance could use some work. It feels very much like a soup kitchen or cafeteria, with long communal tables and no dividers between groups, which can be a little awkward. There's also no music playing so the atmosphere is pretty bare-bones. One small thing I found odd was that they don't offer basil with there soups. Most similar restaurants do, and they clearly have basil in other dishes, so it's not that they don't have it--it's just not provided as a standard garnish. However, they do offer pork skins, bean sprouts and pickled jalapeños at the table. The jalapeños aren't spicy, but they add a nice crunch and freshness. If you haven't been to New Tung Kee in the South Bay just expect a very decent bowl of soup--that's what their known for. Nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done if your craving wonton soup or something similar with shrimp and other meats. It's inexpensive which is a plus. Customer service was fine--friendly, but there was a bit of a language barrier that made communication slightly tricky at times. Overall, if you're in the area and in the mood for a comforting no-frills bowl of noodle soup King Noodle is worth checking out.

I and my wife are crazy about Flour Cake fried at a certain Chinese VN restaurants and we found this King Noodle in Fremont, not to far from our home. Every time we went shopping at Target or Trader Joes, we always stopped by to get our Fried Flour Cake fix LOL. This restaurant's been here quite a long time, it's in a big shopping center with plenty of parking spaces. It's catered to inexpensive Chinese/VN dishes for mostly international clienteles. The foods are quite good but not authentic in any means. Anyone would find it tasty and easy to eat. Our kids used to like these wonton noodle soup when they're young, but now they developed more mature tastes, we don't come here anymore except the 2 of us for flour cake. The price is quite reasonable, $14 a plate, there are a few flour cakes with different ingredients, we only like the plain original flour cake and my wife the taro cake with peanuts embedded in it. The trick is to ask for extra crispy, which means they fried a little longer to make the edge crispy as we like. The sauce is quite good with the flour cakes. For some reasons, not many restaurants like this exist that have great fried flour cakes, but as long as this one is here, we will be coming back for this wonderful Fried Flour Cake. There's another one that is good too, in North Valley, SJ. The service here is efficient, quite fast but very business like. Whatever that means LOL. You'll get the point when you come here.

Good Food with Flavor! Fast Service! If you like noodles this is a Must Try!! If you're in Fremont slide on through and check them out.

#3 with half egg noodle and half ho fun

I used to go to New Tung Kee, aka TK Noodles in Milpitas. After moving to the East Bay I was looking for something similar. After looking around on Yelp, I was surprised to find a place with the same menu as New Tung Kee. The reviews for this place aren't great, and I can see why. When you walk in, it's dead silent, with no music in the background. The seating layout is cafeteria style and you share utensils and condiments with the table beside you. One of the walls with seating is used as storage for many things out in the open for customers to see. On the walls, they have blue light bug zappers. That makes me think they have some fly issue in the restaurant. It's a weird ambiance where I feel like I'm eating in a soup kitchen. I ordered #3 with half ho fun noodles and half egg noodles for the food. The bowl has pork wontons, chicken, pork slices, prawns, and beef balls. What they are missing is ground pork, which New Tung Kee includes. I also asked for extra pork skin/pork rinds. Their pork skin here does not hold its crispiness in the broth. One thing this place is better at than New Tung Kee is the broth. The broth here is more flavorful. Service here is lacking and there's a language barrier. I asked for a side of bean sprouts when I placed my order, and the person who brought out the soup didn't bring any sprouts. He had to get another person to communicate with me. If I crave this style of soup, I would rather go to Thanh Ky in Oakland, which is a million times better in every way.

This place has gone downhill a lot. Portions have gotten smaller and the food quality isn't that great liked I remembered. Service was terrible as we weren't greeted as we walked in. The cashier lady in the front was horrible. She added on $10 of random crap on my tab for stuff I didn't order and charged me 30 cents for a takeout container. She'll watch you like a hawk when you're leaving a tip. She's hungry for tips so beware of the cashier lady.

I've been coming to this establishment when I was little. I usually order Combination over Rice, but it's overrated to me. So I decided to try different things here. I remember years ago that they used to turn on lights with nicer atmosphere. Now, they're always off during the day. Not sure why though. Also, they leave their work supplies on the tables where customers sit. They should have at least a storage room for them. Other than that, their service is fast and food is good. Not really great but good enough to fill you up for the rest of the day. Probably will skip dinner or eat a little since I finished the whole plate of chicken and mushrooms with rice. Although that the overall experience is just okay, I'll probably come back here a bit often to try other dishes.

We wanted a hot pho on a cold day and decided to come to King Noodle. It's close to Traders Joe's so we can go supermarket shopping after. The place is big and has a lot of tables. Once we sat down, we pretty much knew what to order and had their combination rice noodle. It has sliced beef, chicken, fish balls, and siomai with rice noodles. The service was very fast and we got our order within 10 mins. I just want to comment on the size of this bowl. It's very big for one person and in fact, I have to take home one-half of it. The meat is so tender and the pho is very delicious. I've been coming to his place for awhile now but didn't review it until now. If you want a hot pho or soup, you've to come here and try them. They also have rice plates and dry noodles if you want something else.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of them were fantastic. As my friend mentioned, a little bit saucier than you'd typically find in China, but still good. And we ordered everything extra spicy. The "Premium stir-fried beef with yellow peppers (with broth, Angus beef with brisket fat)" was a great saucy start to the meal, it had a nice sour flavor to go with the mild-medium heat and was very fresh tasting. "Husband and Wife Lung Slices" was good, standard and a smidge oily, but tasty. The tendons (there are no lungs, just beef and beef tendons) were cooked nicely, with just a hint of chew but tender. Again mild-medium "Stone Pot Flavored Frog" is where things started to get really good. This was one of the best dishes of the night, and the best frog I've ever had. So tender, with a nice crispy exterior, and so much flavor. This was delicious. If you've never tried frog, this is the one to get. A nice break from the heat was "Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Greens". I was told that this was a bit leaner than what you'd expect in China, but for me the meltingly soft, rich pork belly and chewy greens made into little mantou-tacos was great. It has a nice sweet/sour flavor and zero heat. Now, by far the spiciest dish we ordered was "Double Pepper Chicken Noodles". Delicious noodles, fresh chilies, great almost crispy texture from the wok, but this was firmly in medium-hot category. Everyone started to sweat and get runny noses eating this one. But the flavor was addictive. Some notes - the parking lot is big, but you may have to walk a bit. This is because this restaurant on a Saturday night was absolutely packed. I came around 6:30 and there were 9 tables on the waitlist ahead of me. I wouldn't say it moved quickly, and the area to wait in is cramped. So best bet is to come early or go wait somewhere else. They have an online waitlist that sends a text when your table is ready, so there's no need to stick around being jostled by people entering and exiting. Service was efficient. My friend ordered (in Mandarin) so I didn't follow what was happening, but the food arrived very hot and very quickly, and they nicely pack up your leftovers themselves. Overall - fantastic. I found some new favorites, had some good versions of things I already like, and while it certainly isn't cheap it was worth it. Oddly enough they added an 18% tip automatically. Fair enough, I would normally tip 20% for dinner but if 18% works I'm not complaining. Unfortunately the location isn't convenient for me and the food would be a bit challenging for most of my friends, so I probably won't be back soon. But anyone who wants some authentic and spicy and interesting Chinese dishes would be happy coming here.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

That should have been the second red flag. We really wanted to like the food because of the service, but the food was greasy and super salty. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, house chow fun, and walnut prawns with egg rolls. Sweet and sour chicken was average--not good or bad. Chicken chow mein was in a pool of soy sauce, way too salty. House chow fun was supposed to have shrimp--it literally had two. This too was drenched in soy sauce. Lastly, the walnut prawns were not bad, but again, we can get those anywhere else--no need to come back here for them. Overall, probably will not be back for their food. It is really sad because we really enjoyed the service.

The cuisine is more western China focused with the Chinese hamburger (肉夹馍) and big plate chicken (大盘鸡). Parking is ample in the plaza, and service is very fast. You can see the kitchen and its workflows from the outside, sort of like what you see at Marugame. Spoiler alert, the noodles really are handpulled and the kitchen is very clean! I ordered a Lanzhou Beef noodle soup and Chili Oil noodle. The broth in the Lanzhou noodle was very savory and perfectly seasoned. They also respected my comment for mild spicy, and it was one of the only times I drank almost all the soup since I did not taste artificial powders or too much white pepper. The Chili Oil noodle was also ordered with mild spice, and the noodles were so chewy and perfect, I can't wait to come back here already! We just wished the chili oil noodle had more meats, since there were like only a 2 or 3 slices of beef. Otherwise, portion sizes were also big for the price point, and the quality was beyond my expectations. Since it was our first time here, we were a little cautious and just ordered what we needed. But next time I'll definitely try the big plate chicken and pig ears!

We ordered 2 dry noodles and a cold spicy pig ears appetizer. The pig ears were piled up with no fillers - something hard to find these days. You can select the type of noodles so I picked the widest while my husband picked the middle one. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt. Overall the food was good, service was decent as we were offered actual menu instead of only using QR code to order. The place was not small with plenty of table. A bit noise as with all Chinese restaurants.
