Actually a really good place! I was a little skeptical as it didn't even seem open at the time, & there wasn't very much action going in & out, but i'm so glad i decided to give them a try. The lady working the counter was extremely nice & very thankful for my tip as if she doesn't receive very much tips which makes me a little sad, as she was such a delight that i even went back the very next day for another plate of chow mein. We always have to go with the pork chow mein whenever we go someplace & let me tell you it did NOT disappoint! We also got a side of spring rolls which were decent, but one day we'll go back to try the other options they have. Make sure you order ahead if you don't wanna wait 10-15 minutes as everything is made freshly. Amazing hole in the wall find.

Chow mein just the way you want it yummy yum yum

i've been coming here for several years now, and it is still one of my favorite chinese restaurants in the newark area. the food is really good and the service is amazing too. the owner always comes out to personally make sure we enjoy the food and the ambiance is a nice family owned restaurant vibe.

Ordered takeout here since it's close to my house. Ordered over the phone and it was ready in 15 minutes. Quality and taste was decent! Price and portions were fair. Would order here again.

This place is my always go to Chinese food when I need my fix. I usually order the hotnsour soup, sweet & sour pork, mongolian chicken, walnut prawns and their salt pepper chicken wings with extra steamed rice. I go so often that the lady remembers my order and often offers me a free drink. My picky toddler loves their food as well so it's a win win!

You order via your phone and for each item, you can expect to pay $2-7. Ex: cabbage is $2.50~ and beef is $7.50. Our party of four had our bowls averaging about $20 per person. The portions were good for the price and you get plenty of food. I don't know the weight, but definitely was filling and I typically get 1.8 pounds at other malatang shops which can cost more. They had all the typical options of beef, lamb, spam, sausage, bok choy, Napa, etc. They loaded mine with tons of cabbage which was nice. We got the chengdu broth which is in between a dry and soupy mix. They served our food in a shallow bowl/plate. They have do have soupy base options, such as beef bone broth. I actually enjoyed the in between mix and liked that it wasn't piping hot, but that's my preference. They had a decent sauce bar as well. Stocked with garlic, cilantro, soy, vinegar, oyster sauce, chilli powder, etc. It was very clean and spacious inside. There was only one server working but he was easy to flag down if we needed something. Overall, different but great experience. Will be back!

Even their mugs are unique and give the old street vibes. Food - 5/5 we ordered some skewers, malatang and tomato beef brisket noodle soup. I said their malatang is the best and the highlight here. We ordered the mild spicy Cheng Du soup base that comes with less soup and serve on a big platter. The broth is clean yet super flavorful, tasty with a good strong hint of spice. The heat level was just nice for us as we get to enjoy the broth without the numbing/burning hot effect. That said they have several levels of spicyness including (more or less broth) options to cater to different diners' needs. Their fried tofu and quail eggs skewers are seasoned just nice and only complained is the portion is small as I was expecting more than 3pieces of tofu per skewers. But then again these are not the normal cold tofu (it's the better grade, chewy version). We ended with their rice cake. It's so good and addictive. I couldn't stop eating and have to hold myself back to save the last piece for my family. It's crunchy on the outside but super light and airy inside (unlike most other rice cakes which are usually fairly dense) And very soft and chewy. Service - 5/5 Very good, observant and attentive. They provided us with extra napkins without us having to ask for more. I will for sure come back again.

All dishes came out as we hoped/expected with both the chicken and fish providing the nummy sensation that is unique to Szechuan cuisine. We threw in the eggplant order because we wanted some veggies and something that didn't overtly threaten to numb our palettes and were very happy with that as well. Chicken was fried well and not dry at all which was a lovely experience. Fish was also flavorful and enjoyable to eat, although perhaps the least memorable of the dishes. I wouldn't NOT get any of the dishes again and might elevate the chicken as a must get if you're there for the a Szechuan experience. Well probably come back the next time we get a craving for that nummy feeling.

That felt discriminatory and completely unacceptable. My other account is George g. I can't log in but I made a new log in just for this review I stopped by around 9:40am after dropping my daughter off at school. I was hungry, didn't want breakfast, and noticed the front door was open with a woman sweeping inside. I politely approached and was immediately brushed off and told rudely to come back at 11am. Fine -- I understand if you're closed. But the way she spoke to me was dismissive and unwelcoming. I then politely asked if I could sit quietly and wait since I wasn't from the area and planned to eat before heading out to run errands. She waved her hand at me like I didn't matter and said no. As I was leaving, I urgently needed to use the restroom and asked respectfully if I could use it quickly. She said no again, pointed aggressively toward the grocery store next door, said "go go," and slammed the door shut on me. That alone was incredibly rude and humiliating. What made this even worse was that moments later, I watched a Chinese couple walk up and get let inside and seated even though I was told Customer service should be respectful and equal to everyone. First impressions matter, and this one was terrible. I'm still coming back later to try the food and will update, but based on how I was treated today, management seriously needs to address how customers are handled.

Thinking back on my delicious dinner at Ping's Bistro in Fremont, two things stand out for me: the…read moredelicious food, and the heat level. We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of them were fantastic. As my friend mentioned, a little bit saucier than you'd typically find in China, but still good. And we ordered everything extra spicy. The "Premium stir-fried beef with yellow peppers (with broth, Angus beef with brisket fat)" was a great saucy start to the meal, it had a nice sour flavor to go with the mild-medium heat and was very fresh tasting. "Husband and Wife Lung Slices" was good, standard and a smidge oily, but tasty. The tendons (there are no lungs, just beef and beef tendons) were cooked nicely, with just a hint of chew but tender. Again mild-medium "Stone Pot Flavored Frog" is where things started to get really good. This was one of the best dishes of the night, and the best frog I've ever had. So tender, with a nice crispy exterior, and so much flavor. This was delicious. If you've never tried frog, this is the one to get. A nice break from the heat was "Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Greens". I was told that this was a bit leaner than what you'd expect in China, but for me the meltingly soft, rich pork belly and chewy greens made into little mantou-tacos was great. It has a nice sweet/sour flavor and zero heat. Now, by far the spiciest dish we ordered was "Double Pepper Chicken Noodles". Delicious noodles, fresh chilies, great almost crispy texture from the wok, but this was firmly in medium-hot category. Everyone started to sweat and get runny noses eating this one. But the flavor was addictive. Some notes - the parking lot is big, but you may have to walk a bit. This is because this restaurant on a Saturday night was absolutely packed. I came around 6:30 and there were 9 tables on the waitlist ahead of me. I wouldn't say it moved quickly, and the area to wait in is cramped. So best bet is to come early or go wait somewhere else. They have an online waitlist that sends a text when your table is ready, so there's no need to stick around being jostled by people entering and exiting. Service was efficient. My friend ordered (in Mandarin) so I didn't follow what was happening, but the food arrived very hot and very quickly, and they nicely pack up your leftovers themselves. Overall - fantastic. I found some new favorites, had some good versions of things I already like, and while it certainly isn't cheap it was worth it. Oddly enough they added an 18% tip automatically. Fair enough, I would normally tip 20% for dinner but if 18% works I'm not complaining. Unfortunately the location isn't convenient for me and the food would be a bit challenging for most of my friends, so I probably won't be back soon. But anyone who wants some authentic and spicy and interesting Chinese dishes would be happy coming here.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.
