Little divey restaurant in downtown Hayward. This place has been around for everrrr. Not sure if all the same owner?? We came for dinner and got the Salt and pepper shrimp. Chicken chow mein, pork fried rice and green beans. Everything has great flavor and well seasoned. The food came out quick and hot: They always had tea going during the meal as well as water. My only suggestions would be more chicken in the chicken chow mein (it had little to none) and use a little less oil. The food was a bit on the oily side. Shrimp was fire as well as the pork fried rice and those green beans with garlic were delicious!! Pot stickers were good. Street parking. Small eat in area. Lota of to go orders. Reasonable prices.

My friend and I got overcharged here. Boiling hot fish filets is listed as $22.95 Pork blood/beef/tripe in chili soup was listed as $21.95 We also ordered a noodle dish to share, but it never showed up. We let it go because the portions were huge. That should come out to $44.9, but our check came out to $49.73, and that's not including tip. I tipped 15% because that was the amount on the screen, but now I'm thinking I shouldn't have. I was expecting beef in my soup, but it looked and tasted like ham slices, so I was very confused. Never coming back here. There's a smorgasbord of better Chinese places everywhere else.

Tasty food, greeted immediately and told us to pick any table. After that, typical Chinese restaurant service. Clean, no frill dining room. Order via QR code. The egg plant came out first, very tasty, love the garlic glaze, super hot temperature inside (good thing). I don't know how they get the temp to stay so hot after being served and sat on the table for at least a few minutes before I took a bite. The sliced beef with tofu was good, but not as spicy as I thought, the beef too salty, so not sure if will order again. The salt and pepper chicken wings were very good, crispy on the outside, juice and hot on the inside. Will come to try other dishes

Came in on a Wednesday late afternoon for lunch. It wasn't busy so they sat us right away. We had our toddler and baby with so they brought out 2 kid safe plates and cups without us having to ask. No frills type of place but food was solid. We ordered eggplant with green beans, mapo tofu, chengdu cold noodle, braised beef noodle soup, beef and tendon in chili sauce and the lunch honey walnut shrimp plate. I enjoyed everything except the mapo tofu. I would re order everything but the mapo tofu next time.

We love this ppace so much ~ It is usually bery busy on weekday nights and all weekend. We came in on a weekday for lunch and it was reasonably busy. We ordered the cumin lamb and chicken with noodles and taro. The cumin lamb is very crispy and the chicken with noodles has so many spices in it. Overall, very delicious and one of my favorite sichuan places to eat at in east bay.

The cumin lamb is so amazing here. The kung pal chicken also so good. It actually has a kick of spiciness to it, and the flavor is amazing. A good place to go for Szechuan dishes. Will come back and try other dishes.

Good food and good value. This is a hole in the wall small restaurant with about a dozen tables on a busy street. However, the food is very good and authentic with large portion. Customer service is adequate due to its size. The waitress is very nice and gave us some good recommendations. We were about to order something and she told us it is not good. We order eggplant with garlic sauce and cilantro beef. Both are well seasoned, aromatic and delicious. Will definitely come back.

Being home bound recently, food delivery has been the way to go. Today I had a craving for Szechuan fried spicy chicken. Not to be left out, my order included lunch plates honey walnut prawn and sweet and sour spare ribs. The delivery time kept being updated ie constantly pushing to later time with each subsequent update. As for the food, surprisingly I found the honey walnut prawns with the sweet and savory flavor with fairly good amount of prawns to be the dish I enjoyed most of the trio. Following, the Szechuan chicken came in on second place with boneless fried chicken pieces with distinct peppercorn and red pepper flavor. Obviously in third place was the ribs, I didn't feel it distinguished itself, the dish didn't look like the picture, not very meaty or flavorful to be with sweet or sour. Overall, I thought the lunch plates and dish were good value in cost and portion. I definitely will come back for the lunch plate.

Food was served out fast once I called in to order for pickup. Small sized restaurant. Delicious Szechuan food. Eggplant in garlic sauce was yummy with their rice. Shredded pork in garlic sauce went well with everything. Fish filet in hot chili oil warmed up my body in the winter season. One can't go wrong with ordering any of their delightful entrees!

This place is pretty amazing for its Sichuan cuisine, as far as we have tried so far. The service is excellent and friendly. And while it has a bit of a small diner feel, it has very nice chopsticks, the plates are of really good quality, and even the yea comes in a fancy bronze or brass metal Asian carafe. If you want that hua jiao numbing spice, these folks have you covered with very flavorful mala dishes. We had fish in green pepper broth and pan fried pork intestines and they were both quite tasty. Be aware that they have a very extensive menu that is not reflected in the website. We will be back for sure!

Ambiance- 5/5 very warm and welcoming, you feel comfortable and at home eating your meal. Service- 5/5 got served right away, the food came out fast and hot Food- we got the vegetable egg roll, fried noodle with chicken, spicy fried chicken and beef with chili oil(highly recommend) everything was so good, so flavorful, highly recommend, the portions are so good , you can have left over for two ! They also give you hot tea and peanuts to start your meal! Amazing 1st time ! We are definitely coming back

The food here is really good. The service is always very pleasant and very prompt. The ambiance is super chill and gives you an old school diner feel with the interior. I always forget to take pictures before I start killing my food. I love the veggie fried rice and other veggie dishes that people think are boring but their honey walnut shrimp, general chicken, and the spicy chicken with the peppers in it are things I think taste delicious.

I am in search of a local restaurant to order take out for party of 7, are your portion size dining in equal for take out? I have experienced take out with much smaller portions than dining in at some restaurants.

Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

That felt discriminatory and completely unacceptable. My other account is George g. I can't log in but I made a new log in just for this review I stopped by around 9:40am after dropping my daughter off at school. I was hungry, didn't want breakfast, and noticed the front door was open with a woman sweeping inside. I politely approached and was immediately brushed off and told rudely to come back at 11am. Fine -- I understand if you're closed. But the way she spoke to me was dismissive and unwelcoming. I then politely asked if I could sit quietly and wait since I wasn't from the area and planned to eat before heading out to run errands. She waved her hand at me like I didn't matter and said no. As I was leaving, I urgently needed to use the restroom and asked respectfully if I could use it quickly. She said no again, pointed aggressively toward the grocery store next door, said "go go," and slammed the door shut on me. That alone was incredibly rude and humiliating. What made this even worse was that moments later, I watched a Chinese couple walk up and get let inside and seated even though I was told Customer service should be respectful and equal to everyone. First impressions matter, and this one was terrible. I'm still coming back later to try the food and will update, but based on how I was treated today, management seriously needs to address how customers are handled.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!
