This is a ghost kitchen associated with East Bay Eats! Ordered online and the pickup was easy and seamless! There are tables inside and outside to eat, but most people seem to do take-out like I did. I ordered 2 rolls of kimbap (one spicy pork, one tuna mayo with kimchi), the rose tteokbokki, and a jjajangmyeon. Kimbap 8/10 - flavorful and tasty! Had all the fixings of a traditional kimbap, and their rice was still nice and soft. Perfect for a quick lunch! Rose tteokbokki 9/10 - a larger portion than I expected lol. This was my favorite thing that we ordered, and I'm usually not a fan of tteokbokki! Chewy rice cakes in a creamy, spicy sauce topped with bacon. Yum, I couldn't stop eating this. There's not too much Korean food in Hayward, so I was really excited to find Bobjip. I'm usually a little skeptical about ghost kitchens, but Bobjip serves high quality Korean food! We've ordered take out a few times and our favorites are: -Rose Tteokbokki: Rich, creamy, and just the right about of spice! The rice cake is also cooked very well and is still chewy even when it's soaking in the sauce. -Dakgangjeong: Korean fried chicken covered in sweet and spicy sauce. I love that it's boneless! Really easy to eat. -Jajangmyeon: I love how they separate the noodles from the black bean sauce. Would recommend mixing the noodles immediately so they don't stick together. Got the Mix & Match Combo Kimbap with a beef, unagi, and bobjip special. I was most excited for the bobjip special but it ended up being my LEAST favorite. Beef was solid and I'd be open to getting it again and the unagi had the most flavor and is probably my number 1 for now. Also, keep in mind Bobjip is part of a ghost kitchen. I actually didn't discover this spot until I found it on doordash, and it did NOT disappoint. It's like a ghost kitchen where you can order ahead and pickup, or get delivery via doordash. Our favorite dishes here include the rose teokkbokki, the kimchi fried rice, the kimbap, and the jajangmyeon (the black noodles). Another great dish is the deep fried vermicelli noodle rolls, and the fried chicken. Pros: - AMAZING TASTING FOOD, it never disappoints and always hits the right spot. I had ordered the 3 roll kimbap and it was the one that tasted soapy and it doesn't at all now! I love this spot because I love Korean style street food. It takes me back to my times as a student studying in Korea ordering street food late night with friends. They also have jajang myeon which I missed so much when ordering delivery, seaweed rolls when dipped in tteokboki is sooo good, and a variety of kimbap that I don't see that often. I just wish they had those big kimchi mandus I often had for lunch, they were so huge! There's seats to the left of the kiosks and to the right of them are lockers for pick up (i'm guessing online orders) Food: I ordered kimchi fried rice (comes with a fried egg), beef kimbap, and peach milkis. The kimchi fried rice was good, but there wasn't an option to add cheese on top and I feel the spam was very sparse. The flavor is there though! I decided to check out this place since I've been seeing other foodie influencers post about Bobjip. Just walk into East Bay Eats, choose Bobjip in the kiosk, and order from there. The menu looked a bit expensive at first, but now I understand because each portion can feed more than 2 people. Family style. What I ordered: Bobjip Special Kimbap (spam and veggie)- so good, I can eat this for days Dakgangjeong (sweet & spicy Korean Fried Chicken)- the sauce is a bit spicy for me, but I love how the crispy fried chicken goes well with fried Tteokbokki and peanut toppings. Jjajang Myeon- love the sauce texture with generous purple onions and meat. Less salty. I expected julienned cucumbers, but I'm fine with yellow pickled radish. Also, I love this type of container. Tteokbokki- I cried at every bite I took because it was too spicy for me. Others think it's medium hot when I rate it as level 3 spicy. Very generous on the fish cakes though. BTS Cold Brew (Jimin)- too cute to open, so I left it in the fridge to consume the next morning. The service is focused on pickup and delivery since East Bay Eats is a ghost kitchen/mini cafeteria. I wanted to check this place out since not a lot of places sells yubu, and their concept is similar to a local kitchens. I got the yubu mix & match combo which consists of: spicy tuna, bulgogi, and unagi. Out of the three, I like the bulgogi the best. I felt like the spicy tuna didn't taste like much and the unagi was too fishy for me. The tteokbokki was actually not bad. It was my favorite out of everything we got. It was chewy and mildly spicy. The tuna mayo kimbap tastes like a tuna sandwich. The wait time was between 5-10 min, and their service was quick and easy. This is my third time ordering from them, and each experience has been great. I really love their black bean noodles--the noodles are always perfectly cooked, and even as takeout, they don't get soggy the next day. The sauce is seasoned just right, not too salty or bland. ALSO, usually I find other restaurants not giving enough sauce compared to the noodles but this spot gives a generous amount of sauce which I love! My second favorite dish is their Korean fried chicken--crispy, flavorful, and the chicken is so tender. I appreciate that they serve a whole chicken instead of just wings. I also enjoy their spicy rice cakes (I can tell that it is made with high-quality rice cakes because it doesn't expand over time) and their kimbab, where the rice-to-ingredient ratio is perfectly balanced. Either Yelp recommended Bobjip to me or it came up on my search when I was looking at new "Hot & New Restaurants". Bobjip is available via pick-up at East Bay Eats or there's a delivery option as well. It doesn't have a store front, but there's tons of restaurants under this one roof. I think the concept is similar to a ghost kitchen/cloud kitchen. It's located right next to a parking lot, so plenty of parking available for a quick pick-up. Between the two of us, we ordered the Mix & Match Combo Kimbap and a medium order of Dakgangjeong (Sweet Crispy Korean Fried Chicken). The Mix & Match Kimbap comes with three rolls of Kimbap of your choice. I don't believe you can order two of the same kimbap if you were to go with this combination through, otherwise I may have doubled the Unagi roll. But we picked Bobjip Special, Beef, and Unagi Kimbap. Order was made ready available for pick-up in about 20-30 mins on a Sunday dinner hour. Immediately, after our takeout was handed to us, the smell of the Dakgangjeong just hit us. The seasoning of it - we smelled it on the entire ride home and kept saying how delicious it smelled. It wasn't a far drive back and the food stayed warm by the time we opened it. First up, the kimbaps - they glisten a bit from the sesame oil that coated it. The ratio between rice and filling was perfect. Less rice, and more ingredients - just how we like it! It's not specified on their website, but the Bobjip Special comes with some sort of meat, I think it's either ham or spam, cheese slices, tofu skin I think, and a variety of veggies. It's loaded, and it's satisfying. The thing I do wish they had is the option to take out certain ingredients. For myself, I don't eat cheese, but thankfully, these cheese were easy to just take out. The beef was my partner's favorite. The main ingredient was the most flavorful of the three rolls. My personal favorite is the Unagi. I like it because it's not an option I see in kimbap, ever. So that's a first. Although the unagi flavor is more subtle compared to the other two kimbaps, I see it more as a treat since I don't come across unagi often. I also prefer the unagi sauce over the other two flavors. But to each their own! Lastly, the Dakgangjeong - for medium size, it was actually a lot. Between the two of us, I think maybe we only finished half of the bucket. It's as flavorful as it smelled. A mild, but tolerable spice level - we picked 'regular' for preparation choice (two options: regular, or spicy), slightly sweet, pretty saucy, but 100% delicious. We misread and assumed it was bone-in chicken, but these were all boneless, so we got mouthfuls of chicken at a time. These were generous size pieces. They were also juicy and tender. I generally enjoy more saucy chicken bites then crispy-skinned ones, so this was great. I wish they had this sweet and spicy chicken option for their chicken wings, but I'm not sure they do. All in all, I'm pretty glad I came across Bobjip, and I'm excited that such a great Korean option is so close by! Next time, I'd probably give their appetizers, and Wang Yubu Chobap a try! read more

The food is quite good, so I'll keep coming back and giving them another chance, but my patience is running thin. I've ordered three times: one time, the website wouldn't work, so I couldn't even order at all. I tried their phone number but nobody picked up. Both times I've been able to place an order, the same thing occurred: I get a 15 minute quote, it is NOT ready, the kiosk inside the food hall says 7ish more minutes, I check again, and then it says "delayed". No texts for me letting me know it will be delayed, no updated ETAs. And the people at the front desk are quite nice but do not know about Bobjip orders specifically. So you're stranded, waiting an unknown amount of time with nobody to give an update. Not a pleasant experience. read more

I've had Bobjip 3x in the last month and will be back but there can be improvements - kimbap (5): pretty good! Fresh and tasty. - tteokbuki (4) on the spicy side and you cannot adjust level of spiciness which is disappointing for many who cannot tolerate too much spice. -tang su yug (2.5): this is Korean Chinese sweet and sour pork. Some restaurants will call it brown sweet and sour pork. Sauce here has bits of pineapple (no veg) but the reason for the low score is how tough, dry and over fried the pork is. Kind of feels like it is fried ahead of time and maybe fried again to serve? Or it's just fried way too long. For a large order we didn't have one juicy piece of pork. The slices are thin so it doesn't take long to cook but they're hammered. Im glad they're here but a few adjustments would be great! read more

They text you when the order is ready and you can pick up from the lockers which you can open with a scan of your phone. The Korean ahjumma was the sweetest and helped my fiance how to pick up his food from the lockers. As a Korean person - I LOVED EVERY DISH I ordered. I'm usually really picky with Korean food since I grew up eating it. I ordered Yukgaejang which comes with rice, Tuna Mayo Kimbap and Wang Yubu Chopap. The Yukgaejang was the best I've had - it had so much flavor and the rice was the perfect consistency. Korean rice is known to have more of a sticky and fluffy rice which made the dish more authentic. The Tuba Mayo Kimbap and the Wang Yubu Chopap was seasoned so well and so filling. I also like that they have authentic Korean drinks like Sac Sac, Pear Juice and Milkis that pairs perfectly with the meals. I would recommend trying Sac Sac which is a Korean grape juice if you have never had it. They also give Korean Honeydew & Grape hard candy with your meal. This is definitely my comfort meal.
