My friend swears Pho Seven has the best BBH she's ever had. Her family goes once or twice a week, a 30 minute drive. Ok bet! Something about this place feels so old school. Is it the tables, the laminated menus, the Thai tea served sealed? They have a very narrow parking lot, but if you keep driving through you will see it open up to a larger parking space. Bun Bo Hue (small $11.95): Ok fine it was pretty darn good!! I think I'll get a large ($13.95) next time just to have leftovers. The broth was delicious and it wasn't too spicy. I finished my bowl first lmao. I get the hype! Thai tea ($5): So good with a hot bowl of noodles! Refreshing and not too sweet. Adding tapioca is an extra 75 cents. Next time I'll try their Viet coffee ($5) or Dalgona Coffee ($5). I look forward to bringing other friends here to try their BBH :)

With no idea what to cook, decided to knock off one of my never-ending Yelp bookmarks. Unintentionally, a bit of pork overload choosing the grilled pork spring rolls, and grilled pork, shredded pork, and egg cake over rice. But it was nothing an XL bowl of pho gan (with tendon) wouldn't solve. Friendly service and clean, glad I have a solid spot for pho from now on that was good enough, I could eat the XL by myself, especially with the arrival of cold weather. With how close it is to me, how did I wait this long to try this spot.

I'll start by saying I'm not a huge pho fan, so I'm not sure I'm the best judge here. I ordered the beef soup, and it was... fine. Not bad at all, just didn't give me the "OMG this is life-changing" moment that pho lovers always talk about. The place is clearly popular though I went in the middle of the day on a Monday and it was full. Also cute and quaint. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, which I appreciated because I was hungry almost hangry. I also tried the eggrolls (pretty good!) and the shrimp garlic noodles, which were actually really tasty. Those were my favorite part of the meal. I might go back and try a different soup one day. Maybe I'll have my big pho awakening then. For now, solid spot, just not my personal obsession.

After wanting to try this place for so long I finally stopped by for lunch one afternoon. It might have been because of the time we ate here but it was very chill and relaxed compared to other pho spots I've been to. Looking at the menu I was surprised how prices compared to other restaurants. I would recommend this places highly to anyone who loves Vietnamese food! The food was fresh service was excellent. Because of lent I could only eat noodles and pho & spring rolls but I did not mind at all as it was still so tasty. Hubby got the garlic noodles with chicken and he loved it and wished I could try the chicken. We will definitely be back!!

I forgot to take pictures of my food! (Insert face palm emoji here). Was looking for a new pho place in the area as my friend and I like to try news ones. Came across Pho Seven on Yelp and enjoyed our food. Food and Drinks: - Taro smoothie: cold and yummy - Pho Tai: this is usually my go-to (I'm a simple person). They have three sizes (small, medium, and large). My friend and I ordered medium as the small didn't look like it would fill us up. We did not regret our choice. I do wish we would have gotten a plate of onions and lime wedges like most pho places offer. - Fried Chicken Wings: ordered this as an appetizer to share. It was okay. Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via a shared parking lot with other businesses (kind of small) - Good for groups of 1-8 - Good for families

Local pho shop that was delicious! Pho Seven is located in a strip mall that honestly could be easily overlooked, but don't, because the food was delicious. We came before 12pm during a weekday and was surprised that the store was already packed. - Bun Dac Biet - Classic dry vermicelli noodles. When it first came, I was a bit concerned because there didn't seem to be that much sauce. However, the dish was incredibly flavorful and I really appreciate all the different meat cuts they had in there especially the crispy shrimp cakes. - Pho Tai Chin (Large) - I love pho! Especially moving to the East Coast from Bay Area, the pho over there really cannot compare. The broth here was so incredibly flavorful and rich while the noodles soaked up all of its delicious-ness. The beef was not the most tender, but covered with sriracha sauce, who knows the difference? The price also helps a lot too as this is probably one of the most affordable noodle soup in the area. We shared these dishes among 2 people and it was definitely too much food. 3 people could've probably comfortably finished 2 dishes which speaks to the quantity of the food. Would highly recommend when in the area!

    Spring Rolls with Shredded Pork
    Michele L.

Pho Seven is top rated on Google and has a pretty decent rating on Yelp, so my partner and I were pretty excited to give this place a try. Disclaimer: Parking here kinda sucks. It's crowded, narrow, and it's just not well designed. We came here around 5:30 PM on a Friday, and it were able to find a spot, but it took a bit of luck and patience. I think more than half the restaurant was full when we came, but foot traffic is also quick. Between my partner and I, we shared a Spring Rolls with Shredded Pork. He got a Bun Bo Hue, and I opted to get the Grilled Pork Chop, Shredded Pork & Egg Cake Over Rice. Honestly, it took us longer to figure out our order than it took for the order to come out. They were so quick. The spring roll came in a plate of two. They were packed and kinda big. Sauce was simple - I think it's a mix of fish sauce, sugar, and something else. Portion is generous, but I think the rolls itself were a little dry. I think shredded pork is usually a bit on the drier side, but even with the dipping sauce, it didn't help that much. Flavor of the pork was not bad though. My partner said his Bun Bo Hue was okay. Not the best he's had, but good for local standards. I sampled the soup and I liked it. As for my rice plate, I have to say that my favorite part of the dish was the egg cake and not the pork chop. The egg cake was flavorful, had lots of different filling, was soft, and just a delicious treat. On the other hand, I thought the pork was nicely grilled. Flavorful, but a thin slab. 1/4 of it was fat so I didn't eat that part and there was a connective tissue that was hard to cut through. Sauce seemed to be the same as what was served with the spring rolls and all other items on my rice plate was pretty standard. I had hoped that it would be broken rice, but it's just regular jasmine rice. That was a quick, okay dinner. Service (or lack of) was okay too - kinda standard for a small, busy restaurant. I think we got a little too excited about it based off the reviews, but it felt a little bit of a let down. The parking situation was a bit of a damper too. It's a nice restaurant for locals.

This pho spot has to be one of the best in the Bay Area. No one speaks about it, no one posts about it but man either this place is a hidden gem or I'm not looking hard enough on social media! My family and I have been coming to this place for maybe 5 or so years now and everything is delicious. The food is absolutely delicious and I have yet to try something I didn't like. From the peanut sauce, to their clay pots and of course their pho! My family and I usually grade how well the food will be depending on how much we like their peanut sauce, this place has the best peanut sauce I swear. Perfect ratios of the peanut to soy and other seasonings. Their egg rolls, spring rolls 10/10. I usually get their pho bo vien and it's absolutely delicious, you'll definitely be drinking the broth and cleaning your bowl when your done! The service is amazing too! Very attentive staff and eager to tell popular dishes and explain their menu and drinks menu. Constantly checking in to see if everything's okay and my water cup is rarely empty! They're so kind and welcoming. We love it! The ambiance is great too! It's never completely empty and there's always a lot of chatter and families sitting down eating so it makes the experience more fun! They have really good music playing in the background and their restrooms are always clean. Thank you guys for being open and we'll continue coming back for as long as we can!!

#1 combination with bun bo hue broth
    Tommy P.

I'm a broth guy, always searching for the most flavorful, hearty, HOT. Pho Seven hands down has the best Bun Bo Hue broth in the east bay (two other restaurants come close but I'll explain why this takes the cake). Parking can be cumbersome but the service is stellar -- Every time I come here, I am greeted warmly and seated immediately (unless it is busy, like on weekends). I am a regular now and they know my order right away but like to confirm in case I like to spice it up. They remember extra basil, saté, and broth HOT. Attention to detail is what they are great at and... they refill your water!! In our Vietnamese culture, the people believe that if you drink water while eating, it will bloat you and not allow you to consume the food in the amount that you need. That bleeds a bit in restaurants and so you would typically have to flag down waiters for water, not here. They will scope you out and bring water when they can. Broth 100/10: Here is why the BBH (bun bo hue) is the best, the balance of flavors, spicy, and salt level. - Lemongrass is there, not overpowering with small, fine pieces floating in broth. - The spice is "mild" but not overpowering to where one is sweating. - And unlike other places around here, NOT salty. There is enough boldness in there not to reach for the hoisin or Sriracha. The color of the broth and appearance of oils means that it was stewed from a long time. Sure, there could be extra things added such as fish sauce, possibly MSG, but it is apparent that the broth was stewed for a long time. My order: #1 combination with bun bo hue broth (Definitely give this a try^) If you come in the morning, it is piping hot too. Overall, the atmosphere is welcoming (inside the restaurant) for anyone to come try the BBH here.

    Kids pho
    Maddie M.

We came to this pho spot late at night. Even at 8 it was super crowded. We were waiting for a table and they seated us as soon as a table opened up. We ordered and got our food within 10 minutes. I got the kids pho because I wasn't super hungry and it was a good portion for a kids meal. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfect! This was one of the best pho broths I've had in a while!

    Lore M.

Parking lot is busy and can be a little hectic, inside is nice and clean. I like how they have pictures on the outside window so you can see the dishes they have. Nice server and got everything correct. The pho has a really good flavor, came out nice and hot! Shrimp spring rolls nice and fresh and the peanut sauce was perfect not too sweet or runny. Delicious Thai Tea, they have a perfect ratio of tea and half and half. Good prices! Overall a good experience

    Bun Bo Hue
    Alan H.

For Bun Bo Hue fans this place has a subpar version of my favorite pho! The soup broth was the best part. The saddest was the lack of pork feet meat and the pork blood was poorly cooked. Service was great and were friendly and fast but the food was was just okay.

Ordered for takeout but the food was still great and the portions were huge! Parking can be tough as it's in a small plaza with lots of other stores, but the place itself is easy to find. I will definitely come back to try their pho!

Quality/Quantity - My daughter craved Pho so we came to this place. It has been a VERY long time since we ate here. Actually, the previous time was with the previous owners/business. Today we got the following: Fish Ball Noodle Soup with Pho Noodles - Of course my daughter's choice and with NO veggies?!?! This looked so plain... I know I could have made this better at home! My wife shared some of her wontons with my daughter to add to the flavor. See pictures. I am sure this is NOT what my daughter had in mind when she craved Pho. This was much more of a "Chinese" dish rather than Vietnamese. Update - My daughter mentioned that she could not find regular thinly sliced beef pho as an option. And she thought fish balls were beef balls... Wonton Noodle Soup - Also as plain as my daughter's dish. Again, more of a Chinese dish rather than Vietnamese. #24 Fried Pork Chop, Chicken, Egg with Steamed Rice - Fried fresh and perfectly done! My pork chop and chicken were 5 stars! Everything else was just okay. Ambiance - Very small local business. Decent size parking lot, but not enough spaces for this busy mall. We got lucky and got a space fairly close to the restaurant. Not stressed as we planned to shop at Foodnet after lunch. Service - Had to ask for everything. Hard to get their attention as they just hung around the first booth talking and talking and talking. The hardest worker was the runner, probably the only employee that was not family...? Price - $66 + more generous tip than deserved or earned. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 2024. And your previous location in Oakland, etc. The previous location was known for their chicken, chicken noodle soup, etc.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!
