There's a parking lot, which makes coming here very convenient. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. I ordered the rare steak pho, and it came with fresh noodles. The noodles were soft, springy, and had great texture. The broth was flavorful and comforting. The only downside for me was the beef, which was tenderized and gave it a different texture than the usual rare steak you'd expect in pho, and I wasn't a big fan of that. It's a different style of pho and personally wasn't a fan of. Overall, still a solid bowl of pho.

Prices are high but the portions are huge. They also have a pretty expansive menu giving you lots of options between soup noodles, bun, and rice plates. First time we got two soups - I'd recommend skipping the special rib pho as the rib was kinda dry and not worth, but the soup itself was good. Went back more recently and got a bahn mi which was also expensive and more meh. Don't think they use paté on their traditional sandwich which is a no go for us. Well still come back for the convenience and many options though.

Good food. Nice atmosphere (although this time we got take out.) this place is not cheap, but I really do appreciate the depth of flavor of their broth and the fresh ingredients they use. All restaurants offering take away Pho should have larger take out bowls

Packed on a weekend as expected. Small private parking. Walked in and notice a lot of Vietnamese customer which is a plus- that's when you know the food is good. It was packed but we got seated right away. However we waiting some time for our in our order. Removing a star for multiple reasons- it's kinda on the pricier side. I got a coconut juice and the literally cut it just for the straw! Most places cut through so you can also scoop out the coconut meat. I'll attach a photo for reference. Crispy seafood noodles were just okay. The sauce wasn't as flavorful. Order a Thai tea coconut juice and a kids plain pho and it was over $60 Their chili sauce is so good! Fresh and spicy! I would come back to try their beef pho and other special dishes. They offer banh cuon as a weekend special. I also want to come back to try their BBH Also a banh mi cost over $11 which is a lot.

    Pho brisket and beef ball

I lived in San Jose for a long time and recently moved to the East Bay. I've tried most of the Vietnamese spots in San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, and Oakland. I was excited to try Pho Thin Hanoi since they serve Northern style pho, which I've had plenty of times both here and in Vietnam. Unfortunately, this place just didn't hit the mark. I came on a weekday around 2 PM and was the only customer there. The broth was super bland and watered down, which is disappointing because that's the heart of any good pho. I ordered brisket and beef balls. The brisket was a little tough and the beef balls were just okay. For the price they're charging, the quality just isn't there. One thing I'll give them is the presentation. The pho looks nice with the julienned green onions. They also make their own chili sauce which reminds me of sambal, but they don't have Sriracha. I get that they're going for authenticity, but at the end of the day you're in a neighborhood where people expect certain basics. If you're not going to deliver strong flavors, at least let people doctor it up how they like. Overall it wasn't terrible, but definitely not worth the price or a return visit for me. There are way better options in the area.

As you can tell from the name, this place has Hanoi style pho, which typically means they put a lot of green onions and the broth (in my experience) is richer. And usually in Hanoi style, they don't give you the basil and sprouts but this place does, which is a plus for me since I like that, even with non-pho dishes. I tried their signature pho, which was delicious. And the beef was tender but wished they were bigger slices and more of them. I do like the interior, which has a classic American diner feel. Comfy. Makes me wonder what it was before. Given how tasty the pho was, I'm eager to try their other dishes.

Their Pho and Bun Bo Hue is delicious We love the way the prep their meat- with a little ginger and garlic The BBH flavor is like a homestyle and reminds me of how my relatives make it They play really nice music, relaxing Service is quick Really good food and good location

I can't believe I had never heard of this place! I came here with a couple people and we ordered a variety of things - broken rice with short rib, broken rice with pork, and the ha noi special grilled pork vermicelli. The broken rice was super yummy and those orders came with a bowl of good soup! The Ha Noi Special was expensive but it was super filling and had a variety of meat. Service was pretty quick and they also have a parking lot which made it super convenient! I will definitely be back to try more things.

Started with the pork spring roll (5/5) delicious juicy flavorful meat inside a fresh spring roll. Highly recommend KBBQ Ribs Broken Rice Plate (4/5) Marinated and delicious. If you like KBBQ ribs definitely try it! Meat may be a bit tough because that's just the way KBBQ ribs are. Very tasty. BBQ Beef Banh Mi (5/5) Best Banh Mi I've ever had. Idk what they do to the meat but it's so juicy and flavorful. They packed it with fresh veggies and a warm, toasted roll that had the perfect crunch. Highly recommend I love this place. It may be a bit pricier (for me) but totally worth it. This is my favorite Vietnamese place in the Bay. I also like to go to Clancy's Ice Cream Parlor afterwords bc I like being a fatass.

    Bun Cha Na Hoi Special

We were browsing around Yelp to see what piques our interest, and one of the restaurants that popped up on the front search page was Pho Thin Hanoi. Their dishes looked kinda different than the usual Pho places and they market themselves differently with "Hanoi-style pho with ginger broth". This piqued my partner's interest because he never had pho this way (nor did I, but other dishes looked more interesting to me). It's local, so we decided to give it a go. They have their own parking lot so ample amount of space. We probably arrived around early quarter of 6PM, so when we got there, it was surprisingly empty. This place is indeed very spacious with plenty of seatings both big and small. Between my partner and I, we ordered a Nem Cuon to share. My partner ordered the Bun Bo Hue. And I originally wanted to try the Banh Cuon Special, but apparently, they only serve that on the weekends and they didn't have that flat noodle I was looking for. They owner came along and highly recommended the Bun Cha Na Hoi Special, which I think she said was similar, and really good, so I ended up getting that to try instead. My partner also wanted to try their Che (Thai style). In hindsight, I probably should have asked for another minute and looked up what was recommended rather than just go with the flow. I would have probably enjoyed my meal here more if I chose something I know I would like. Food came relatively quickly since we were one of the earlier parties. For a Friday night, it does seem to get a good amount of foot traffic and parties trickled in while we waited and ate. I liked their Nem Cuon! The crispy wonton wrapper added a nice crunchy texture. The pork sausage was seasoned well so it was flavorful! As for my Bun Cha Na Hoi Special - I liked some aspects of it, but not all of it. The crispy roll was nice. Super stuffed with ingredients. A tad bit on the oily side, but it was crunchy and flavorful. It kinda looked like there was some shredded crab meat or something, but I'm not exactly sure what it was. I also enjoyed the meat patty. Super flavorful, juicy, and almost like a softer version of a meatball, but delicious. They definitely season their proteins really nicely, so I think their grilled dishes would be tasty. However, I didn't like how fatty the grilled pork was. A few pieces looked like it was almost composed of 50% fat. I know a lot of people like the fattiness for the flavor, but I don't prefer it, so that part didn't appeal to me. Their veggies and herbs were also meh. Not the most fresh - some were wilted, some had brown spots on them, and the pickled veggie was just a tad bit too sour, though the pickled ones were probably better than the ones served as is. On the other hand, my partner quite enjoyed his Bun Bo Hue. It's quite different from the ones you find elsewhere. The soup had a pleasant ginger-y taste to it and it was light. It also didn't come with pork blood, so it didn't have the usual red tint to the soup. The rib was fall-off-the-bone tender. Lastly, the Che (Thai style). This was okay. All the ingredients included in the mix was jelly-like, so there wasn't much variety. I believe they also just mixed it with coconut cream, so the drink was pretty heavy for something I think is meant as a dessert. It wasn't exactly refreshing either, which I feel other Che has. Service was lukewarm. Like a lot of other reviews stated, the price is quite high for what it is. They do market themselves differently though, which could be a selling point. This place won't probably end up being my go-to, but if I'm feeling for something different, I might just end up back here to try their Broken Rice plates.

Honestly, my dad and grandpa really like going to this place but I think it's a bit overpriced for pho. I like that they give the option of thick noodles (banh pho tuoi) as some places don't offer it. I'm not saying this place is bad, I can finish most of my bowl but eventually I will stop because I don't like the taste of my broth. I feel like I can taste ginger or something else about it is a bit off and that's not something I am into, but again, my parents have not made the same complaints. I have ate from here with take out (multiple times) and once at the restaurant and think it can be more enjoyable if the broth was better in both instances. The service was quick and the restaurant is quite spacious - inside and outside.

Love this place! This is me and my dad's go to Vietnamese spot in San Leandro. We typically go during lunch on the weekdays and always greeted very warmly by the hosts. The ambiance is chill and the parking is always easy too, I'm not sure how it is on the weekends but there is usually plenty of spots since it's private lot for that restaurant. I always get the fried chicken and let me tell you... it's fire! My dad always gets the pho and the portions are huge and super delicious. Can't wait to come back here for some QT with the fam and enjoy some yummy viet food

While the pho is on the pricier side, the serving size is fair for the price. Unfortunately, I'd still prefer an average sized serving over what Pho Thin offers. I do love that they offer pickled onion, but the pho was lacking flavor for me. Service was ok. It's a local spot so it's convenient for me.

Then, as much as we loved the banh mi, the banner and the sidewalk sign advertising them as a new lunch option last year seemed almost like they were really, really trying to pull in more people any way they could. Every time I walked past this place, it was either empty or there were one to two tables with guests at a time. So when the word finally broke a few days ago that the owners have sold the place and are closing, I felt really sad, but wasn't surprised. It's definitely the end of an era, and is one of those longtime San Leandro restaurants in this strip of E 14th that has a comforting, early 2000s vibe -- and is now gone, like so many before them. It's frustrating, especially because the likelihood of them possibly getting replaced by a chain or yet another taqueria or Chinese place is high (though they apparently don't know what will be moving in after them). Dropped by yesterday with my husband for a final lunch. He got the bun bo hue and I got the yellow curry stir fry and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the restaurant was nearly entirely full with people having their own last meals and saying their goodbyes to the owners. While the owner was incredibly nice, service was terrible. She was overworked, working the counter, packing up to-go orders, taking table orders, bringing out food, AND bussing tables alone. The party next to us was a little frustrated that she still hadn't come by to take their order and went to the counter to flag her down. I don't know how much longer Le Soleil would've remained viable if service has been like this for months. It's a sad situation, but I wish nothing but the best for the owners, especially if they decide to open another restaurant in the future.
