Very happy with the vegetarian options. Neat interior, dedicated parking lot, server checked in and refilled waters multiple times. Large portions, enough variety with veggie options to come back multiple times.

Service was fast and server was pleasant. Though I didn't care much for their noodle soup as it was a bit sweet for my taste, soup was good. Place was organized and clean.

    Combination pho - large

It's been a long work week, so my husband decided we should treat ourselves out to eat. My brother in law said he loves the pho here so we decided to check it out. They do have a parking lot so that you don't need to find street parking. Inside, there was plenty of seating available, so we were able to fit our stroller in easily. We shared three items: 1. The crab and shrimp egg rolls were delicious. It comes with three (cut in halves). 2. The lemongrass pork grilled entree was good. The meat was tender and flavorful. We upgraded to the fried rice with pineapple. I wish the fried rice was a bit more fried haha. 3. The combination pho was a bit of a letdown, mainly because the broth was very bland/too light for my liking. The meat was alright, could've be more tender. I enjoyed the flat noodles, but definitely needed to add hoisin sauce and sriracha for more flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, I did enjoy the meal, but had higher expectations for the pho!

Food is flavorful but the quality doesn't par to the price. Pork is always full of fat.

Vegan eggplant tofu clay pot $11.95

Solid 4 stars w plenty of vegan options. We ordered the vegan orange chicken and curry tofu clay pot. I found the curry tofu clay pot little too spicy w slightly bitter finish , the curry was not smooth. Friend had the orange chicken and he said it was ok, I did not try it tho. The food was very reasonably prices and the server was very attentive. We also ordered the Vietnamese ice tea and the restaurant had coconut milk. CC accepted

Very good food. Absent service. Didn't get water refilled but still liked the place. The server was nice just not attentive. We went there because it was 15 minutes from the Oakland Airport. It was not busy at 3:00 on a Thursday.

    Spicy Thai fried rice

Stumbled upon this place looking for vegan options while I was out in San Leandro. Not the most exciting atmosphere, but it was still charming. I was promptly seated and reviewed the menu. I couldn't quite decide on two items so I got 3 lol. I ordered the Buddha spring rolls. Very tasty! They had cooked tofu, mushrooms, and cucumber inside. I also ordered the jalapeno tofu. Very large portion! At that point, I knew I had over-ordered. Oopsies! My 3rd dish was the spicy Thai fried rice and it was also very good. Spicy, but not overwhelming. Everything was made fresh and a good temperature. That being said... the only reason I wouldn't be giving 5 stars today is because the restaurant itself was unusually warm. Perhaps they don't have air conditioning or its not working? Either way, I ended up feeling kinda sweaty from eating my hot food in a rather warm restaurant. I would still come back if I was in the area again. Good food, good portions, and quick service.

Nice little place with really good vegan and other options. I got the vegan vermicelli with the several fake 'meats' - I think the strange crispy thing was supposed to be shrimp, but that was a little odd. It was almost like a crispy french fry with not much flavor. Overall the food was decent. It came out relatively quickly, though my dish was a bit cold, so perhaps the food had been sitting for a bit which was why they were able to prepare it so fast. The prices were reasonable and the server was friendly. I'd go back to give some of the curries a try as well. If you're vegan, it's definitely a good option! I can't speak to the other dishes.

We were greatly surprised when we came in, The food prices were great, the options are endless, and the food came in quickly. The portions are great. If you come do yourself a favor and try the tofu, I'm not a big fan of tofu but a fan of their tofu!! Just great!! Everything clean, organized, it wasn't that busy inside but they had a bunch of pick up orders rolling. Also big perk- they have their own parking area.

Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (L5) - not great
    Irene X.

Small restaurant, the menu has a lot of vegan/vegetarian dishes. So if you don't pay attention, you could be mistakenly ordered chicken or beef, but they are not real chicken/beef. The Sauteed Jalapeno Tofu is very crispy, good portions, definitely recommended. I don't really like the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (L5), which is very watery, served in a large bowl but doesn't have enough noodle & beef. The grilled lemongrass pork wrapped in rice paper is not my favorite either. And yes, the server should pay more attention to pouring water to the guests. The restaurant was very quiet but we didn't get enough attention from the server.

Ended up trying lotus leaf because my Vietnamese parents wanted to spend the day with me and my brother and decided to take us here because we were in a mourning phase so we were only allowed to eat vegetarian stuff. Gotta say that it's not bad, the fried rice was ok, but fry and somewhat bland. The papaya salad on the other hand was very flavorful and my parents loved it. Can't say it agreed with my white washed tastes, but for those who enjoy a more exotic flavor it's actually rather nice. Oh and service was also very nice. Overall not my favorite thing to eat, but do take your parents here if they want to try some vegetarian options.

    Bun rieu
    Assia D.

Soup was fine and service was fine as well. I make a point to try different soups when I visit Vietnamese restaurants and I'm always excited when Bun Rieu is offered! The soup was fine (though not my favorite of the ones I've had). The owner of the restaurant was so excited to explain to me what the soup was. I went with my dad, and he ended up ordering one too. I think it's only being sold for a limited time. There is a tiny parking lot and the space itself is small. A great spot to pop into and eat lunch really quickly! Couldn't hear anything from the inside. Did not like how dark it was though, would have preferrred opening the curtains.

Then, as much as we loved the banh mi, the banner and the sidewalk sign advertising them as a new lunch option last year seemed almost like they were really, really trying to pull in more people any way they could. Every time I walked past this place, it was either empty or there were one to two tables with guests at a time. So when the word finally broke a few days ago that the owners have sold the place and are closing, I felt really sad, but wasn't surprised. It's definitely the end of an era, and is one of those longtime San Leandro restaurants in this strip of E 14th that has a comforting, early 2000s vibe -- and is now gone, like so many before them. It's frustrating, especially because the likelihood of them possibly getting replaced by a chain or yet another taqueria or Chinese place is high (though they apparently don't know what will be moving in after them). Dropped by yesterday with my husband for a final lunch. He got the bun bo hue and I got the yellow curry stir fry and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the restaurant was nearly entirely full with people having their own last meals and saying their goodbyes to the owners. While the owner was incredibly nice, service was terrible. She was overworked, working the counter, packing up to-go orders, taking table orders, bringing out food, AND bussing tables alone. The party next to us was a little frustrated that she still hadn't come by to take their order and went to the counter to flag her down. I don't know how much longer Le Soleil would've remained viable if service has been like this for months. It's a sad situation, but I wish nothing but the best for the owners, especially if they decide to open another restaurant in the future.
