Almost nothing!

I think this place must have changed ownership. It used to be good, BUT today, the people were dismissive; the guy pressed the 10% tip himself ( after the service and amount of food I got) I didn't think they deserved anything extra). The bowl of Pho was a child portion; the amount of garnish the least I have ever received ANYWHERE!

Ordered a chicken bún for dine in. Strange that they'd serve that on a plate. Service was prompt but the lady who took our order and served us wasn't in a good mood. Maybe it's an off day for her. Ambiance? It used to be Wienerschnitzel and nothing much was done to it so.

My favorite meal here!!!! Took a bite for you to see the handmade fried egg roll center. Vietnam house is the best!!

I love the repositioning of this hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant. It's still a casual sit down spot but it reminds me about the Vietnam experience so well. Though, the prices of increased for obvious economic trading, inflation, and better wages, Vietnam House still is one of my favorite Vietnamese spots in Alameda. I always order the same thing, chicken with vermicelli and an egg roll. It's a rare day where I found myself leisurely walking down Park St. craving Vietnamese pho. The service is genuine and the food is delicious. It was relaxing eating here at 3:30pm while the hustle and bustle is calm. Definitely hit the spot, thanks so much!! Happy Retirement, Auntie! Can't wait to see you all again!

This place "feels" like Vietnam. Especially during this heatwave season. I gave this place a visit for a banh mi and their signature coffee. It did not disappoint! It's a small corner cafe with not much seating but if you're able to have a sit down, you'll have an enjoyable afternoon. The location is kind of difficult to find parking for, but worry not they have their own lot which is tucked away on the side of the street.

Honestly some of the best shrimp rolls I've had in a while. You can taste the shrimp flavor without fishiness and all balances great together. You order at the front window and can either wait there for to-go orders, or go around to the side seating to the right and there's a window they'll call your order when it's ready

Pho so yummy !

Good hot pho served and other offerings. We we t here a few times and food is on point. Rated 3 due to table and area was cold and my soup lost heat quicker than we can finish it. The dining area needs attention. :)

I haven't been to Vietnam House more than 5 times but I can say every time I've been here I've enjoyed the food. The portions are decent for the price and it tastes good. They have seated dining after you order at the window. The seating area is enclosed and though I haven't been on a hot day, they have big windows they can slide to let air in. There's a designated parking lot which makes it more appealing to dine at because parking on park street can be tough. I remember when this place use to be a Weinerschnitzel and I'm glad they didn't tear down the whole building before another restaurant moved in.

What's the best way to order for pickup? Do they work with any apps?

It's kind of an old school place so I'm sure you call and pick up yourself. I don't know of a particular app but you could try Caviar. They deliver food all over the place.

We came here on a Saturday late afternoon and there were a handful of folks here ordering/dining in. It's a small spot with limited seating, so its mostly for takeout imo. We got 2 banh mi: one cold cut combo and another for lemongrass chicken. We also got a smoothie to go. The banh mi's are legit, I would order extra pate next time. Love how the banh mi are super thick with tons of meat, veggies, and good amount of pate. The bread is fresh and the portions are generous. Would love to come back here again and try more items and include extra pate per my friend's suggestion. There are only street parking available here. We had no issues finding one close to the spot on a Saturday afternoon.

Took me a couple of sittings to finish (enough for one serving for one person if you're hungry or can eat a good amount). Lots of flavor through the pickled veggies, fish sauce, etc. - Combination Sandwich: comes with pork, ham, and pate. - Mixed Berry Smoothie: flavorful and a good size smoothie Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via street parking (parking is tougher on the farmer's market mornings) - Limited seating inside and outside

Ended up going to Chong Qing noodle house and it was a smart decision. We walked over and immediately greeted by the very nice lady. We said to go so we grabbed a menu and sat down. The lady approached us and asked if we needed reccomendation. I said I wanted dried noodles so she recommended the Zha Jiang noodles. She also recommended the wonton and some cucumbers but we ended up just getting the wonton in addition to the noodles. They prepared our foood quickly and we had it to go We took our food to the alameda brewery and as soon as open the noodles - it already smelled so good. Those noodles were amazing!!!! It was so flavorful, bouncy noodles, tender meat and together it was perfect. I did wish it comes w fried eggs. The wontons are also tasty - great taste and the chili oil is perfect I would def comeback to this place and try their other dish! And I recommend you check them out

About 15 seconds after we got our menus, that one of the servers was hovering over us. We were trying to make our decision but she would just not leave us alone, and kept pointing out options. It felt more like pressure than anything. Once we ordered the food came fairly quickly. The wings were incredibly flavorful, I'd order again in a heartbeat. The dumplings were delicious. My biggest complaint was how pushy the server was. I wanted to leave but I thought my niece wanted to stay so I didn't say anything. While we were leaving my niece said she was very uncomfortable there, but didn't want to say anything. The food was delicious, but we both agreed we'd probably order delivery next time. Our in person experience was just too unpleasant.

It warms my heart to see that Mintleaf is still a popular staple after all these years…read more As an Alameda native, I have good memories of eating here when I was younger, and whenever I visit, I love bringing my husband here too. I wouldn't call this an authentic Vietnamese restaurant per se, more so an Asian fusion place, but Mintleaf holds its own in terms of flavor, freshness, and variety. Service has always been attentive, and while small, the restaurant is clean, cozy, and modern. There is also outdoor seating if you are bringing a dog. I have dined with my well-behaved, well-trained Siberian in the past. Recently, we were in Alameda to do my dog's birthday photoshoot in honor of my previous dog, and I wanted to go to Mintleaf again. It was later in the evening, and I saw that they close at 8 pm. We arrived around 7:20 and while the staff were starting to clean up since the restaurant was empty, they still greeted us with a smile and seated us promptly. Not long after we arrived, a small group of people also came to sit down, and they were also seated. Another individual arrived to place a to-go order. My husband went with the scallops and prawns over garlic noodles, and I went with their version of bun rieu. We did not have to wait long for our food to be brought to the table. My husband's noodles arrived first, served with their classic plating of slices of tomato and cucumber on the corners of the plate (they have done this as long as I can remember). Soon, my bun rieu arrived, including a small side of herbs. My broth was piping hot and delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and while they were thinner than the usual bun rieu noodles, they still absorbed the flavor of the broth well. The cha was thinly-sliced, and there was a good amount of tofu in the bowl as well. Even though the bowl might look small, it was a perfect dinner portion, and with plenty of broth. I was definitely full after savoring each last drop of broth. My husband loved his garlic noodle dish. There was a good helping of both scallops and prawns, and the noodles were deliciously garlicky. I had a sample of the noodles and they were so good. There are other dishes I've tried in the past, such as the pad Thai and sizzling spicy lemongrass chicken, and they have both been excellent as well (sorry I have no recent photos). Mintleaf is not your usual Vietnamese restaurant, especially with its classier touch, but personally I enjoy their dishes, and will definitely return when I want an Asian fusion wrinkle to my Vietnamese food.
