    Lemongrass chicken over rice
    Norma L.

I came across this place killing sometime to meet someone. I didnt have any intention to eat, but their window menu had lemon grass chicken over rice. This unlocked a core memory from my time in Davis. I decided to give it a try. Wow!! This just reminded me a tiny mom and pop. Vietnamese restaurant that served the best lemongrass chicken, 30 yrs ago. The restaurant is long gone and Ive been on a quest for fine the similar taste. Jackpot. I will be coming here when in the mood for lemongrass chicken. Portions was good too. Its a small space. 3 tables inside and a couple outside so recommend this a to go place. Their other items such and Banh mi looked delicious also.

Mango and Mint has done it again! Came back for another lunch, inviting another friend this time. This time, we tried a few new dishes. - Chicken Vermicelli Bowl: this is a hefty bowl. Took me a couple of sittings to finish (enough for one serving for one person if you're hungry or can eat a good amount). Lots of flavor through the pickled veggies, fish sauce, etc. - Combination Sandwich: comes with pork, ham, and pate. - Mixed Berry Smoothie: flavorful and a good size smoothie Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via street parking (parking is tougher on the farmer's market mornings) - Limited seating inside and outside

Great place to grab a quick bite, there are a couple of seats indoor and outdoor. I order the spring rolls often and it's always fresh and consistent. Staff is always friendly.

This is one of the best Vietnamese takeout spots in the entire East Bay. Every time I visit here I leave so satisfied. I just stopped in to get some spring rolls. I love how they packaged them. I always get some fish sauce with mine, but it comes with free peanut sauce. I will always stop in there because they're very friendly always have a nice smile for you and the restaurant is always clean and inviting.

Thick, loaded, absolutely delicious banh mis!!! Definitely one of the best banh mis I've had. Got the spicy chicken and added pate (+50 cents!) and ate the entire thing. They are so generous with each component of the sandwich. Am absolutely itching to go back for another! Great value for $12. Cold cuts also good and loaded. 9/10 banh mi for me. Want to try char siu next! And the bowls (': Quick & friendly service, great value, decent pricing, solid menu.

Tried this spot on a whim while walking by, and were pleasantly surprised by the Banh Mi sandwiches ($12). Large soft roll, fresh veggies, and perfectly cooked and seasoned meat. Did not have as much meat or pâté compared to others' pictures, suggesting there is some inconsistency in preparation, but it was still delicious! Service is fast and friendly. Indoor/outdoor seating is available. Parking off the main street is pretty easy to find, even on a weekend.

Not cheap but large portions and good flavors. No frills--bathroom could be cleaner, decor is lacking, but very good food. I loved my peanut butter smoothie and my friend shared her Vietnamese chicken salad. They did not scrimp on meat which was very nice!

I was in the area and hungry for lunch. Fortunately, I saw Mango and Mint and decided to give it a try. I got the Vietnamese Chicken Salad. Wow, as you can see by the photo, it's a lot of food! I wish they had a half salad option. As someone on a low-carb diet, I really appreciated that the salad seemed very healthy and fresh. I think for some it might be a little underwhelming flavor wise but this is exactly what I liked about it - that it wasn't over seasoned or sweet. They also made me a unsweetened iced tea, which isn't on the menu. It was delicious! While waiting for my order, I observed this to be a popular place and run very efficiently. The Bahn Mi sandwiches seemed especially popular.

Love the avocado smoothie -- it's very thick and you can really taste the avocado. The bánh mì is very thick and wide, could use a bit more mayo. The vermicelli portion is huge and flavorful.

Enjoyed a delicious and healthy smoothie the other day when I was jones-ing for something light, but not a full sit down lunch. Loved their variety and prices were around $7-$8, and I had the Tropical Green smoothie. This is a tiny Vietnamese restaurant, looks like mostly take out, but the menu looks inviting. Go visit, I love supporting these small places and I'll surely be back for a full meal.

    BANH MI - COMBINATION - $12
    Tu-Anh N.

WHEN: Sat @ 1:30pm Finally got to try this because I love Banh Mi, and I appreciate the aesthetics of this business. They stand out with the color choices so its easy to spot on the streets, and they have a cute and simple signage, and being next to Cookiebar, both establishments make Webster St look so darn quant. As much as I love trees, I felt it was a great idea the tree in front was trimmed so we can see them better. Such a lovely facade! Anyway, this small shop has very limited seating. They have 2 inside and about 2 in front. They serve all sorts of things besides Vietnamese sandwiches such as salads, Noodle bowls, rice plates, egg rolls and spring rolls, and smoothies. Here's what I got: BANH MI - COMBINATION - $12 Cold Cuts of Pork Roll, Ham, Headcheese, Pate served on a tasted b Vietnamese baguette, housemade Mayo, Cucumber, Cilantro, Soy Sauce, Jalapeño, Pickled Carrot and Daikon. So I did not expect this sandwich would be so massive. So I figure it was just the bread. NOPE--this average sized baguette was jam-packed with all the works! I appreciate the amount of pate and mayo cuz most places skimp on this. The bread tasted quite fresh--thin crisp on the outer layer and soft throughout. Yes this bad boy ripped the insides of my mouth but it's worth it. Everything about this sandwich tasted fresh and just half of it filled me up. RICE BOWL - CHICKEN & PORK COMBO - $15 Steamed White Rice, Romaine Lettuce, Pickled Carrots, Tomato and Cucumbers. Served with FishSauce. Let me tell you this was no bowl--this was a massive DISH that can feed 2 people. Plenty of rice with all the seasoned and tender meats--so good! Unlike most places, this place does not skimp on the veggies. The fish sauce is not tooo sweet and goes perfectly with everything. Yes, I was skeptical about paying $12 for a sandwich but it makes sense with how hard it is these days to keep a clean business open in a decent area that serves up decent, good, and large portion meals. You are getting restaurant quality food that's all made to order or a reasonable price. I can't recommend this place enough, and I love knowing it's a mom and pops shop, and I hear them speaking Vietnamese in the back as they prep my food--LOVE it!

So full of meat and pate. Yummy!
    Melissa C.

At $12 a banh mi, I was skeptical but once I got it, I get it. It's a huuuuug banh mi. Its wider than my forearm and as long as my arm. It is filled to the brim with meat. They are not skimping here. This will probably feed me for 2 meals. They seem busy with call in orders and Door Dash but I got my order quickly. Parking is kind of tough and you might circle around a bit but worth it.

I've been to mango and mint twice now, and both times, I felt like the sandwich was decent but not quite perfect. My main issue is with their bread. Their roll is quite big, which you would think is good, but it's a bit chewy and my jaw starts hurting before I finish the sandwich. The filling of the sandwiches is good. I've tried both the grilled chicken and the cold cut. Both were decent, but the breadddd! It's also just hurts me to pay $12 for a sandwich when they were like $2.50 growing up and you can still get them for like $6 in Oakland. Even at peppermint baguette on park st, it's only $8! The bf and I also did a side by side comparison of both the sandwiches and egg rolls at mango and mint and peppermint baguette and both agreed that peppermint baguette had much more flavor and was a better bang for your buck! Mango and mint def wins on presentation, and they've been super busy each time I've gone! It is cool to see them making the food up front though.

I was there on a warm Sunday, just to try their acai bowls. There's four acai bowls on the menu board, so I asked the gentleman behind the counter....."which is the best acai bowl?" With confidence, he said...."the Oasis Bowl." He likes the Oasis Bowl because it features seasonal fruit. That means the recipe and taste experience can change with the seasons. When I was there, the seasonal fruit was pineapple. This place makes a good acai bowl. For $13.00, it's not overflowing with fruit toppings. Instead, it's packed with fresh fruit, crispy granola, chia seeds, honey and coconut flakes on top of a acai base. It's definitely a meal, not a fruit bowl snack. The interior is very clean. It has a small outdoor patio. According to signage, there's no indoor seating. Main Squeeze is located near the Park Street Downtown. One time there was a hair in my drink. On several other occasions I ordered a smoothie, only for it to be handed to me already melted. Even the popcorn chicken has gotten noticeably smaller over the years. The drinks aren't good either. The flavors don't taste authentic at all--they have a very artificial, fake taste, like they're just dumping flavored powder into a blender instead of using real ingredients. The shop itself is also poorly maintained. You can see dust and spiderwebs around the store, and it doesn't feel like cleanliness is a priority. I've given this place more chances than it deserved, hoping it would improve, but it never does. Save your money and go somewhere else.
