This was our first time here, and I am glad we changed our mind to try this Thai restaurant, instead of our initial plan. The green salad roll, for starters, is very fresh and the peanut sauce is a bit different from other Thai restaurant I go to often, in such a good way, that I was scraping the bottom of the sauce bowl! Their taro puffs are STUFFED with taro! The sauce is a perfect pairing with the taro puffs, however, the puffs are packed with flavor that even without the sauce these are scrumptious! The roti are a must when we eat in Thai restaurants, so we made sure to order this also. The rainbow trout was my fav dish. I enjoyed it so much that I ate every last bite after my family had finished their meal. Service was excellent. They continuously checked on us and our food was served promptly after ordering! The vibe of the restaurant is family and date friendly, including solo dates! I love seeing people treating themselves out, which I saw this evening when we dined in. When you go in, make sure to stop to look at all the lucky cats and adorable figurines! The only reason I gave four stars is because they didn't have mango sticky rice when we ordered this for dessert, and we were told mangos are not in season, however, we enjoy mango sticky rice at other Thai restaurants and the mango is still ripe and delicious. Also, the pad see ew was very salty, so we asked if it could please be redone. They were so busy by that time, that the wait time would've been too long, so they offered to just take it off our bill, which we agreed to and we appreciated their honesty. We got crab fried rice, pas see ew w/ beef, and a prik khing basa fish. The fried rice had great flavor and was a hearty portion with plenty of crab. Would recommend! Prik khing was flavorful but my dining partner did not like the texture of the basa. There also wasn't a ton of fish and more veggies than anything. Finally, I thought the beef in the last see ew was a bit tough but dining partner thought it was fine. The smoky wok flavor was very strong which was nice but the brocolli was soggy and overcooked, probably because the carrots pieces were HUGE and required more cooking time. The flavor of this dish was real good. There was plenty to eat. The big drawback was that the chicken leg was impossible to cut with a butter knife. Although they did provide a separate plate you can use to cut it with you really needed a serrated knife to delve into it. The chicken was cooked but it's too much work to cut it up. A hidden gym in a not so hidden place. I was shocked at how much I'd like this place. A quick yelp search and boop! May Thai popped up. The ambiance is cozy with an impressive lucky cat collection. The service was top notch and I appreciated how my water was always filled to the top. I definitely was extra hydrated throughout the dinner. I highly recommend ordering the Khao Soi and the Beef Pad See Ew. Both dishes were delightful and kept me wanting seconds... I mean, thirds. I haven't had a pad see ew where the beef required painstaking chewing in a longgg time so this dish was extra delicious and was done so well. The noodles were flavored perfectly and the beef def had some Maillard reaction going on due to the wok hei of the dish (a true sign of chef master skills). As for the Khao Soi, the coconut curry aromas were ever so fragrant and the chicken leg/thigh size was giant! These dishes just kept delivering. Had dinner tonight with my two kids four years old and two years old. It was about 8 PM. It was like 1/3 full. My kids were making so much noise but nobody complained. We got the pad Thai with chicken and tofu ,tom Yum soup with shrimp and the crab Rangoon's. Yummy restaurant yummy food they even give you plastic plates and plastic forks and spoons for your kids without even asking because obviously kids that age can break glass, which I really liked. Any time you eat at a restaurant on Park st, parking is going to be a bit time consuming. My mom and I decided to get some Thai food. It wasn't super crowded when we got here for lunch, maybe 3 or 4 other tables. We were seated and given water and menus really quickly. We decided on the green curry with brown rice and pad kee mao. Loved the presentation of the heart shaped brown rice. The plates and bowls were nice too. The green curry was perfectly flavorful, everything was cooked well, taste and texture-wise. The bathroom was clean. Sweet pumpkin curry puffs: Flakey, butter pastry. The middle is savory but I felt it would've been better if it were more flavorful. Corn taro cream cheese wanton: The cream cheese was really yummy. I found the sweet and sour sauce very tangy and acidic. Khao soi curry noodle soup (asked for it to not be spicy): It was salty but not too salty, and quite creamy. I still found it a little bit spicy as I could feel I was getting some acid reflux, I'm unfortunately someone who is very sensitive to spiciness in food. May Thai is great! I've been a regular since my first visit. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and the food is super tasty. Some of my favorite dishes are the Thai street food style pad krapow, the issan papaya salad, crispy rice salad, pad se ew, and tom yum fried rice. A pleasant surprise is that most of the dishes on the menu are, or can be made gluten free. Because so many of the dishes are already gf, there's no sacrifice in terms of flavor. The dining area is casual, and the location is super convenient if you're on or near Park Street. I recommend May Thai for lunch or for dinner, and for large groups or smaller parties. Not much to say about my experience here. We didn't really go the path less taken... I mean we ordered their pineapple fried rice and chicken pad thai. The flavors aligned with what we expected. They did give enough for us to have leftovers so that's a plus. We also ordered their Spicy Wings of Heaven and roti. The wings were more on the sweet side than spicy, but they were nice and crispy. The roti, on the other hand, was not what we expected and it came out very oily. Do not recommend that one. This place is a great option for dinner from dates to family meals. I did find it a bit noisy personally but this is a casual Thai restaurant so can't really complain. I dig all the lucky cats they've collected so far. read more

We were a party of 9 on a Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. First off, service was phenomenal! They organized a table in the front with a nice birthday banner. They allowed us to bring an outside cake and eat it after the meal. Some of the highlights from lunch included the spicy basil with vegetable, pad Kee mao with tofu, pinneaple fried rice with tofu for vegetarians. For meat/seafood eaters, the coconut lemongrass soup and massaman curries were a big hit. Flavors were phenomenal! Dishes were not overly greasy. I was shocked to see this was one of the emptier restaurants. Folks, this is the place to go! Everything was very clean. Plates were changed out when necessary. Bathroom was well stocked and clean. While we sang happy birthday, one of the waitresses came over and helped us film with our camera. The same waiter also carrying held a baby of another couple dining in the restaurant. Then i get chicken satay at every thai food place i go to and this one wasn't terrible but the portion sizes was not giving for their prices. For our main dishes we ordered several things: The beef panang curry (the perfect amount of heat & the beef was so tender it was easy to pull apart) a side of Jasmine rice (fluffy & cooked perfectly), the chicken satay (moist & flavorful) & the chefs special that had long noodles in a peanut coconut type of sauce (comes in a large soup bowl) and fried chicken cutlets on top (also lightly breaded & moist), a shrimp pineapple fried rice (had cashews & it was super flavorful & enough to take home). Service was good, but there was a crowd of flies in the middle of the restaurant We ordered the following items: Spicy wings of heaven: 2/5 I had to get the sauce on the side since my toddler barely eats spicy. The sauce was super tasty, the actual wings was clearly stale. You would not have been able to tell if you did not get the sauce on the side. Papaya Salad Issan: 3/5 average papaya salad, pretty fresh, but it was a bit "fishy" Tofu Pad Thai: 3/5 I liked the noodles the most, but I cannot justify giving it a higher rating. The lime that I got was so dry that my pad thai had no lime juice. Every time I took a bite, I kept wishing it had more of a kick.
