I was in the area and this place got good ratings. We got a lot of dishes and shared family style. We got laphet thoke salad, OHN NO KHAUK SWE soup, NAN GYI DOK noodles, and broccoli and tofu. The food was flavorful and super good. My favorite was the Ohn No Khauk Swe soup and the salad. The presentation was cool too and they also would mix the food in front of you. I will say that after a few hours, my friend did get sick. I also had stomach pain but figured it was because I ate too much. I'm not sure if this was correlated to this food, but wanted to be honest and say she did have stomach pain for the next few days.

Food was great! Burmese food feels like Indian flavors with its own unique twist, which I really enjoyed. Everything tasted super distinct and flavorful. The service was friendly, and they were especially sweet about my dog. They brought him water right away. We sat outside on the patio, which made it an even nicer experience.

Great place with great food. I usually order to go but recently went and dined in. I sat outside and the waiter was friendly and efficient and made sure to offer to turn on the heat lamp for us once it got cold. I'm vegan and Burma has really good vegan options with a clearly labeled menu for what is vegan or can be modified to be vegan. The main con is this place is pricey for their portions in my opinion. I would recommend going with a group and doing family style, otherwise the bill can add up pretty quickly.

I arrived very early to meet a friend on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was not too busy around 5:00. There was also tons of outdoor (covered and heated) seating. The staff were super accommodating when I let them know my friend wouldn't there for maybe 30-40 minutes. Our server was awesome. The outdoor seating was cozy even as the sun went down. He occasionally checked in to see if the temperature was still okay. I don't remember the gentleman's name, but our server was great. He bought out the Golden Hour Menu (M-F, 3-6pm). The drink specials were amazing. Cocktails for 50% off! Most, if not all were about $8 and yummy. We tried a number of them. The cucumber water was refreshing. The ginger lemon drop had just enough of each flavor component to hit the spot. I ordered the chicken samusas ($7), salt and pepper chicken ($8) and the calamari ($9) all from the Golden Hour menu. Portion sizes were hearty. Our server was kind enough to let me order before my friend arrived and waited until she arrived to serve us. It was plenty of food for two people. The only minor note is that the bathroom is down a somewhat small walkway past where take out and dishes are stored. Some of the tables inside looked very compact, especially if a party of two orders more than two dishes. Outside table for the win! We had such a great experience. We were there for at least three hours and never once felt rushed to leave after we finished.

Enjoyed a great lunch with friends at Burma Superstar! The service was super attentive and responsive. That's what gave it a 5 star rating. We ordered a few dishes and ate family style. I really love their coconut rice and their catfish curry, I have had it several times. I also had the ginger lemonade. This was my first time trying the chicken appetizer it was so crunchy and delicious. It was also my first time having the lamb and tofu dish, also very good! I recommend stopping here when you're in the neighborhood and want to enjoy outdoor or indoor seating on a nice day!

If you are feeling down and want something to fill your stomach and heart, this Burmese restaurant is the place to go. This place is wonderful! I was having a tough Sunday morning and overall weekend but the service, drinks, and food here revived my spirit! Chris the bartender is such a sweet chill guy, and made me a great thai tea and offered me to try the Mango Lassi-- it was sooo good and genuinely made my day. This dude is the best bartender Ive met so far this year what a great guy Chris is. What a wonderful ambiance too, so well designed and such a chill and beautiful restaurant and bar! Not only is the service wonderful with great people, the food is sooooo good! The Mohingh was a big portion and very filling and tasty, I cant wait to finish this later! I usually am not a fan of fish but THIS CHANGED MY MIND!!! I LOVE CATFISH!!! This made me more open minded to trying fish dishes again! However... out of everything...my favorite was the Tea leaf salad, and Chris made it in front of me which was super cool to see. It was genuinely such a nice Sunday afternoon coming to this place Genuinely 11 out of 10 stars!! I WILL be coming back here again.

First time at this location and it didn't disappoint. I called in to make reservation for 6 pm same day and they were able to accommodate. Tea Leaf Salad:enjoyed all of the different textures and flavors. Fried Calamari: nicely fried and nice portion with jalapeños/scallions Garlic noodles were a big miss. Not much garlic flavor and didn't really taste much flavor at all. The chicken curry was good as well. Not spicy at all to me but had good flavor. Get the coconut rice too. Service was nice from everyone. Indoor/outdoor seating available Street parking

Burma Superstar was always a reliable DoorDash for me during Covid. A bit pricey but always consistently hits the spot. Yesterday I ate here for the first time in person. The quality of the ingredients were the same. Portions are huge came home with so many leftovers which I know, I will enjoy later. All the salads are great here, but my favorite is always the ginger salad. Love all the ginger flavored dishes. Pork with Mustard greens was a bit too sour and I probably wouldn't order again. The shrimp dishes are all yummy!

My first time trying Burmese food. I ordered the tea leaf salad. It was delish and I enjoyed watching it being prepared at my table with an explanation about the dish. The portion was huge since it's family style dining. Friendly staff. Cute modern interior with big bright windows.

My friend brought me here for my birthday dinner. We had a time! Service was really good - are needs were met, but it wasn't too annoying, where we were interrupted every five seconds. The food was delicious and the drinks were strong! I had the typhoon and after the first two sips, whooo! It was so strong that we ended up cancelling round two, since we were driving. My favorite dish - the Walnut Shrimp, yummers. The servings are actually pretty large and although it was two of us, we ended up having a ton of leftovers to takeout. I can't wait to return - good food, good relaxing vibes.

I love Burmese food! Have been to the location in sf many times. I ordered the fiery lamb and tofu with the Thai iced tea! I enjoyed my meal For the most part. Some of the lamb pieces were super chewy and felt like weren't cooked all the way through:/

This was my first time trying Burmese food. For anyone who has never tried it before, think of Burmese food as a mix of Indian and Thai. Met here with a few friends and we ordered a little bit of everything. The pork and pumpkin stew is a MUST when you come here. The pork is incredibly tender, and I don't think I've ever had someone successfully prepare pork this moist before! I was slightly disappointed by the garlic noodles because they didn't have much flavor (it's better when you squeeze some lime on it). Our waiter Tim was warm and made us feel welcomed.

Vegetable Samusas, crispy, delicious, and the red sauce is a little spicy, and perfect for the dish.

Things changed: more breading on the chicken (spicy crispy chicken) and reduced protein in some of the other dishes, too. But the flavors still hit and its popularity hasn't dimmed much on the nights I've gone over the last few years. I bought their cookbook years back but much of what I like isn't in it, so I keep coming back for the food and community vibes. There is a communal table, which I appreciate though I tend to sit at the bar when I go alone. It's worth it to get a view of what's happening all around you. The B S in Alameda doesn't have the same energy or coziness, but it is easier to access with safer parking (now windows broken there but I've had that here and been hassled walking to/from) and dramatically shorter waits. The diversity of the diners is much lower than this one though (Alameda is still mostly old white people) and the menu has more options here, so I'll continue to return again and again and recommend it to others ... and hope to not have to replace car windows.

Between our group, we got Sakoo, Nam Khao, Fried Clear Rice Roll Wraps, Sai Oua (Lao Sausages), Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Kee Mao, and a large side of Sticky Rice. Of the dishes, the Nam Khao was a standout favorite for me. I loved how crispy and crunchy the fried rice was in the dish. There were so many layers of flavors and textures from the fish sauce, the peanuts, and the fermented sour pork. If there's one dish you must order when you stop by here, it's this one. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Sai Oua; I get this dish whenever I see it at restaurants. Although I've had Lao sausages which were very heavy in lemongrass flavor, the ones here did not have the same flavor profile. Instead, the ones here leaned more towards the spicy side. The crispy pork belly was another standout dish for me. If you enjoy Filipino lechon or Cantonese siu yuk, this is another must-order dish. The pork is well seasoned and has the perfect ratio of lean to fatty parts. Overall, I had wonderfully delicious meal. I would certainly recommend coming as a large group so you're able to order a wide variety of dishes. If you're looking for something to really excite your taste buds, head over to Bhan Mae Vane.

The Roti Dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD (6/5). It exceeded my expectations. The Roti was very soft and crispy and the dip had an amazing coconut/herby taste. The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.
