Always a great meal. We ordered steamed pork with salty fish with ginger. Tasty. Greens and mobu tofu yummy !

We booked a table for mother's day :) parking can be rough since they have a small lot but we luckily got parking. Staff are nice when you ask them for anything - very accommodating. The food was good. My favorite was the sweet and sour pork, mapo tofu, and stir fried vegetables. The duck/goose was good but in my opinion too salty. Still, great place to eat for any occasion or reason!

I remember 20+ years ago, this was the location of a KFC. They do have a back parking lot on Buena Vista which is convenient vs trying to find parking on Webster St. They have ample classics and Chef's specials which is good for a comfort meal fixing. Their Hot and Sour Soup is good, and a great starter to warm up the taste buds. We opted for a couple of classical family style dishes. The Salty Fish steam pork and the Bitter Melon Eggs both great with white rice. Another one of my favorites (and not many place has it) is their XO style Duck Chin (it's the Duck's bottom beak). this is more of a appetite and a delicacy for those with this type of appetite. The Lobster E-Fu Noodles was on sale for $38,99 and this was done just right. Overall this was a good dining experience worth repeating.

Our workplace celebrated the August Moon which is for family gatherings. This is what we ordered and everything was delicious and it served more than one meal for us. Portions are generous, it ended up serving 16 meals! You have to pre order the sticky rice chicken, put together like a cake and frosting! Lots of care goes into this one dish.

I've lost count of how many times I've checked in here well over 30 at this point. And every time? Nothing but fire pics and plates that hit every time. This spot stays busy for a reason. It's just a few feet from East Ocean, smack in the middle of Bay Area food heaven, where Alameda and Oakland keep the good eats coming. Been coming here since my kids were little, and the waiter still remembers us so you know we've put in the hours. The food? Always solid. Prices? Still reasonable. Service? Locked in. Check them out if you're ever in the area. Just my opinion this place smacks lol

This place has really good quality dim sum. We tried some of our standard favorites but the barbecue pork noodle roll was quite impressive. The service was very friendly the and the establishment is pretty spacious with an outdoor area as well. We will definitely be coming back to try more on the menu.

In the mood for Chinese comfort food so trekked down to Kitchen of Alameda. They have a parking lot. Walking in it feels like a Chinatown restaurant - lot of loud Canto. Don't hate - I'm Chinese. IFKYK. They have the usual Chinese menu, just what we wanted. Cha Siu Wonton Mein - great flavors and lots of cha siu, just not so much won ton - I think 5. Guess that's because there's also the mein. Still 4*. Beef Chow Fun - OK but lot of bean sprouts. 4*. Sweet and Sour Pork - Good flavor, portion OK. Cha Siu bow - Free! Mention "Uncle Timmy" or was it "Teddy". Keep saying Uncle so-and-so until they give it to you ;-) Prices a little on the high side, Service was just like a Chinatown restaurant. If you want some good ol' Chinese comfort food, this is the place.

Not my favorite for sure. The dim sum restaurants next to this place, Chef's wok & East Ocean are much better. I don't recommend

Sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper tofu, beef with Chinese broccoli

Kitchen of Alameda is at the top of my list as the "go to" Chinese restaurant in Oakland or Alameda. The owner is usually there and the people are personable. They serve dim sum that is prepared fresh and steaming hot! One of the few restaurants that serve large pieces of dim sum with very good ingredients. The taste is absolutely amazing. You can also order regular dishes for lunch and dinner and they do have "lunch specials." Try their sweet and sour pork or chicken or fish....they also use fresh pineapple. Their Fish fillet with black bean is to die for......sooooo tasty and tender! Their menu is extensive.....so enjoy! Bon Appetite!

Most delicious assortment of dim sum & then sum ... great culinary experience with tasty flavors, generous portions, excellent service & spacious back patio area. Most authentic & reasonable prices. Will be back!

Noodle and Cabbage, but as you can see, they gave you mostly cabbage and very little noodles. Very disappointing!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the food just didn't meet expectations. Most of the dishes were OVERLY OILY and salty--I couldn't even finish any of them. I found myself relying on hot tea just to cut through the heaviness. One dish in particular (a noodle and cabbage dish) was disappointing--we were served way more cabbage than noodles. For a table of five dishes, the total came to over $200, which felt pretty steep for Chinese food, especially considering the quality. But the interior could definitely use an update. The decor is dated, and the mix of three different chair styles just made the space feel cluttered and mismatched. Another thing that stood out (in a bad way): the staff smoke a lot outside. It was constant, and based on the frequency, I'm guessing some of the cooks were among them. It didn't feel very clean or appetizing knowing that. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and parking was easy. Overall, not somewhere I'd rush back to, though I appreciated the service.

Ended up going to Chong Qing noodle house and it was a smart decision. We walked over and immediately greeted by the very nice lady. We said to go so we grabbed a menu and sat down. The lady approached us and asked if we needed reccomendation. I said I wanted dried noodles so she recommended the Zha Jiang noodles. She also recommended the wonton and some cucumbers but we ended up just getting the wonton in addition to the noodles. They prepared our foood quickly and we had it to go We took our food to the alameda brewery and as soon as open the noodles - it already smelled so good. Those noodles were amazing!!!! It was so flavorful, bouncy noodles, tender meat and together it was perfect. I did wish it comes w fried eggs. The wontons are also tasty - great taste and the chili oil is perfect I would def comeback to this place and try their other dish! And I recommend you check them out

About 15 seconds after we got our menus, that one of the servers was hovering over us. We were trying to make our decision but she would just not leave us alone, and kept pointing out options. It felt more like pressure than anything. Once we ordered the food came fairly quickly. The wings were incredibly flavorful, I'd order again in a heartbeat. The dumplings were delicious. My biggest complaint was how pushy the server was. I wanted to leave but I thought my niece wanted to stay so I didn't say anything. While we were leaving my niece said she was very uncomfortable there, but didn't want to say anything. The food was delicious, but we both agreed we'd probably order delivery next time. Our in person experience was just too unpleasant.

It's getting harder to find places in the Bay Area that still do it this way, mostly because restaurants just don't have the space anymore for carts to weave between tightly packed tables. That alone makes this place feel a little special. The food itself tastes fresh, and yes, the hot sauce passes the test. I've had a few unfortunate (and slightly traumatizing) encounters with off-tasting sauces during the pandemic, so now I always do a cautious smell-and-taste check first. They also serve "tofu fa" (tofu pudding) with a sweet ginger syrup, which was a pleasant surprise. It's one of my favorite desserts and not something you see often at dim sum spots these days since it's not in high demand. Definitely brought back some nostalgic, childhood vibes. Just a heads up, this place gets busy quickly. If you can, try to arrive within the first hour after opening. Otherwise, be prepared to wait a bit, it's popular for a reason.

This time, we ordered a few dishes to try - the classic sesame paste noodles, Shan Dong chicken, the fried rice with shrimp, and the hot spicy eggplant. Since we did order delivery on a busy Saturday night, it took a little over an hour for our food to arrive. The food was expertly packed and we were given plenty of utensils and napkins. The sesame paste noodles are one of my favorite dishes here, there's a balance of sweet and salty offered in the creamy sesame paste sauce that's so addicting. I've always been a big fan of the hand-pulled noodles which are thick, bouncy and chewy. The Shan Dong chicken is deep fried and coated in a delicious sauce. It is more of the sweeter side if you're looking for something that's spicy. I appreciate that we were given large pieces as well! The fried rice with shrimp is amazing - I love the crunch of the green onion, the softness of the fried egg, and the texture of the rice and veggies which weren't soggy and still held a nice bite. Last but not least, the hot spicy eggplant was a great choice because it's usually the trickier dish to cook as eggplant can turn really soft and mushy. I was delighted that with the way it was prepared, the large eggplant pieces still held a tender texture that did not fall apart. I also enjoyed the sauce that was paired with the eggplant, which is oyster-sauce based and added a pleasant sweetness as well. I'm always looking forward to my next visit and I love supporting Shan Dong!
