Wonton soup with egg noodles was a great ramen like soup.

Did an early family dinner at Pho King and it was pretty Pho-tastic! The price point seem pretty on point for Bay Area and averaged about $22 per person including main, drink, and appetizer. The service was nice and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Free abundant parking in the Lucky market lot and very safe. Wonton soup with egg noodles was yummy, as was the pho and the steamed chicken with yellow rice!

This place was recommended to me by my best friend Bonnie, as soon as I walked in I was greeted right away I was acknowledged which I appreciate. I ordered my appetizers first, the spring fried rolls which were so cute and mini; very delicious!!! The shrimp spring rolls also very delicious, Thai tea was concentrated to perfection how I like, pho was ok broth wasn't that great but still delicious. I will definitely return to this spot also parking was very easy and near by.

My first time at the relocation and I am not disappointed. I prefer this location, as it feels a lot safer. Service is quick for a weekend lunch and no complaints on our food. Everything was delicious and made well! I appreciate how fresh the herbs were.

Friendly service Pho came out super fast! Literally a minute or two after ordering. Good price, solid quality, will definitely be back :)

Went to Pho King for the first time. For this chilly time of year, pho is always the best and most comforting thing. The service was okay, we never got the water we asked for, but the food made up for it! So delicious. Broth was well made and fairly clear. Even better with hoison sauce, siracha, jalapeños, and lemon! A must try

Service - Good Food - Bland...lacked any distinguishing "Pho" taste (like star anise and other spices) Ambiance-10/10 quiet clean place. Overall I think it's pretty hard to advertise a restaurant as "king" of anything...especially when there are so many restaurants serving the same items close by. But if you're just in the mood for noodle soup I'd recommend this place. But specifically for pho I'd recommend nearby places.

Pho King serves my favorite Bun Bo Hue in the East Bay, which I loved even before their relocation. This is my first time coming to dine in as I've always enjoyed it at home with a takeout order. The space is a lot bigger and there's plenty of parking outside in the lot. Nearby Lake Merritt so just be aware of your surroundings. #18. Bun Bo Hue: comes a little spicy as is, but the broth is super flavorful and the meat to noodle ratio is good for me. I usually opt for a size small by myself but the large was good for me to share with one other person. Again, this is my go-to spot for a bun bo hue and it's still just as tasty as when I heat it up on the stove at home. A16. Papaya Salad: very flavorful, I personally would get the shrimp next time but the beef jerky added more flavor to the already salty dish (my preference). #60. Com Suon: pork chop was super yummy + I like to chew on the bone! The whole plate for $20 was IMO not a bad deal for the portion - extra $1 for the over easy egg. We didn't want broken rice so we just got normal. Their nuoc mam/fish sauce also has a lot of depth so it went super well with everything on the plate. I do wish there were cucumbers/more veggies! Overall satisfied those Vietnamese pork chop cravings. Service was perfect for me. They came quick to take our orders and also close out our bill + hand us to-go boxes, but also left us alone for the majority of the time to enjoy our meal. Appreciated it a lot and felt super welcome inside. ALSO, food came out super quick and fresh! Definitely come by when you want a hot bowl of soup or just good, authentic Vietnamese food -- Pho King is Viet-mom approved!

Extra beef... the broth wasn't hot enough to cook it.

I ordered a small chicken pho with a side of beef and a Viet coffee. Everything was pretty mehhh. The broth lacked flavor and was lukewarm from the start. It needs to be hot enough so when you add in the sides, it stays hot. The coffee was okay, but had a strange aftertaste. I ate half of it and gave up. I'm used to home-cooked Viet food (and San Jose restaurants), so I know good pho. I prefer the Vietnamese coffee at Vegan Donut Gelato, down the street. Service here was fast but not especially friendly. Ambiance is nondescript.

Great spot if you're in a hurry for lunch! I swear our food came like 2 minutes after we ordered haha. 3 sizes of pho to choose from for reasonable prices, but unfortunately skipped the coffee because I think $7 is a bit steep :c Also it's great that this is located in a plaza with a parking lot. I cannot street park for my life, especially in Oakland

It's been a minute since I've been over to this side of Oakland, driving by Lake Merritt to the right. Meeting at the popular Pho King for lunch, I noticed a few other cool establishments in the bizz center while parking like Merritt Cocktail House and Rise and Grind Coffee. This area seemed bustling on a Friday afternoon, and that was really nice to see! We ordered Thai teas and the Papaya Salad with shrimp to start. Such a beautiful presentation ~ so fresh, packed with flavor, and deliciously ample shrimp adorned on top of the salad bed. Would def get again. While this spot is known for their soups, I ordered the Grilled Chicken & rice plate. Again, so flavorful and really great portions. The meat was clean and enjoyed the marinade, and the accompaniment on the plate satisfied every morsel! Service was excellent ~ friendly staff, super quick, and great value overall for portion size and happy tastebuds! Would love to come back and try more Vietnamese staples and treats. Well done, Pho King!

Pho King, nestled by the lake in a small shopping center, is a must-visit spot. I tried the #12 Chin Nam Ve Don--a pho with tender brisket and skirt steak in a rich, flavorful. The real highlight, though, was the bánh mì. The freshly baked bread was light and crispy, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Easily one of the best bánh mì sandwiches I've ever had. If you're nearby, don't miss it! Also the lemonade is made fresh . Service was extremely fast . Great spot to eat .

Pho King Vietnamese is hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. The food is simply exceptional, with flavors that go beyond anything I've had elsewhere. Every dish tastes so fresh, balanced, and made with care, you can tell it's crafted from family recipes and a true love of cooking. It seems to be family-run, and that warmth comes through in every part of the experience. Our server Wayne always remembers us and even what we like to order -- such a rare and personal touch these days! The service is quick, friendly. Bonus patio that's dog friendly. If you want unforgettable Vietnamese food with heart, soul, and hospitality, Pho King Vietnamese in East Oakland is a must. We'll keep coming back again and again!

I have been coming to Pho King since I was in preschool. No matter what the mi quang will always hit! It's crazy to see so many locations pop up now but the atmosphere with the friendly familial servers will remain the same throughout all locations. I'm always so happy to visit this place and I have always enjoyed coming here, never ever had a bad experience

The beef pho was ok. The broth was on the sweet side. The sticky rice (zoi man) was fantastic though. This is already on my top five list in a single visit. Went for the basics: beef pho, and salad roll with tofu. I was initially put off by the short menu and few options to add toppings (I didn't see any tendon or tripe for example), and worried it would be too bland or too sweet--but it was not. The broth was deeply flavorful and more savory. Meats were generous and meatballs were exceptional, maybe the best I've had. The basil and sprouts were garden fresh, and unusually, the rice noodles were exceptional, not at all soft or pressed together. I could genuinely taste the love here. It extended to the salad rolls which were generously portioned and used lightly fried tofu which I prefer. One additional note about the broth. It's a richer style than I normally like so I couldn't drink it to the last drop, but I can't fault its great flavor. The service was above average, with a spirited vibe. Loved everything, will be back to try more on the menu.

Probably just as well because this was our first time at this location. We came on a Saturday afternoon looking for a late lunch. It was a nice space with interesting decorating touches like a collage of vintage photos and magazine clippings in a ribbon-like pattern on the gray wall (Photo 6). The place was almost empty, which allowed us to take the corner table next to the window. The menu looked like a slightly upmarket take on Vietnamese fare. We decided to share a couple of dishes since we had tentative dinner plans later. We ordered the $17 Shrimp Papaya Salad, a decent enough mix of green papaya and carrots in decorative latticed slices, crispy allium, herbs, and six poached shrimp, drenched in a spicy fish sauce vinaigrette and topped with peanuts and Thai basil (Photo 9). Tasty but a bit bland and wet. We then shared the $25 Fried Chicken characterized as chicken tempura, but the execution was lacking. It consisted of slices of thigh meat covered in a rather moist coating. There was fermented soy aioli and a side of pickled daikon, carrot and cabbage slaw in miso soy dressing (Photo 10). Even though the thigh meat was welcome, the dish didn't quite hang together. At the same time, the ingredients were fresh, and frankly other menu options might've improved our satisfaction.
